She found him! Sure it was only a matter of time until she had, but it seemed to have backfired on her. His strong shield had protect him physically, but her strong strikes did take a toll on his body indirectly. However his shield did take quite a beating, pieces falling off as Mia's relentless assault mauled it, and at the same time her hands.
Hayato glared at Mia as he felt something he had grown to hate as an Angel Iramasha, demonic energy. But how could that be? She seemed fairly human, she was infected by whatever was zombifing people. Could it be that certain people could receive demonic traits when exposed long enough to this new "disease"? No it wasn't a disease. This was definitely some sort of corruption, he had cured it in people before she came along. But he didnt have time to figure it out now.
He stood firm as a bolt of lightning broke apart the remaining of his shield. He could tell she was setting up more bolts to fire soon, he had to act quick. He summoned the gems he had created around the field and covered himself in them. They took the shape of a massive yellow, heart shaped gem.
Hayato had been working on a few things in his spare time. He was testing, and producing some Aether Crystals with special abilities. With his natural knack at aether control and stone creation he was infuing elements into them, and one he was working on was a Topaz. This one was quite electric in nature.
He let himself get hit by all the lightning bolts. As he did the stone got quite a fill of the shocking stuff. Sure he was taking damage, but he had a goal in mind. Create the largest master level gem he had ever made in the shortest period of time. All the free electricity, and the richness of Aether in this area made it quite easy. After the shocking assault was over Hayato stood within a 20 foot gem, the insides crackling with electricity.
Hayato panted as he snapped his fingers. As soon as he did the stone shattered, releasing a massive 100 foot wide bolt of electricity. IT was so strong and used up sp much Aether that the field that was around them, which didnt have much time left, shattered.

THE INFECTED COME
It was becoming apparent to Mia that she was beginning to push the male back greatly. She could sense his energy leaving him and he was beginning to sustain injuries that seemed quite damning. For her? It was only a matter of time until the male broke. All she needed to do was hold out until then and push him hard. Therefore, she was going to do just do that and engage the male in combat.
However, she was relatively surprised to see that the male had already begun going on the offensive. In spite of that, though, The Hound-Leader was more than prepared to deal with it. The woman was intending on using her demonic energy in order to forge a burst of demonic energy known as "Kage Chōkyō-shi" at the male in order to otherwise counter his attack. This assault was the demonic equivalent of a cero and she assumed that by creating it in equal width and density as Hayato's blast that it would result in both attacks being canceled out.
In turn, this would then push the male further towards exhaustion as he was using up more of his energy resources in order to battle her. Therefore, she made sure to go back to relying on her physical strength in order not to wear down her own reserves. Thus, she took off at mach one speeds in order to close the gap between them and emerge from behind with a shunpo-esqe movement. In doing so, she would summon up her strength in order to unleash a punch with enough strength to tear through two city blocks on the skull of Hayato in order to drain him further.
As this attack would have enough strength to make him lose three to six percent of his energy, send waves of pain throughout his body and make him spit out blood from the sheer force of it before being tossed to the ground. Additionally, even if there was a barrier put in place, she at least hoped to shatter or break it at the cost of once again putting her own body through the grinder. For, if there was a shield in place, she would see her own arms rip to sunder and lose two to three percent of her health in the process of her assault. She was that confident that she'd outlast him in this battle.
All that the demonic woman needed to do was wait, observe and keep up the pace. This wasn't a battle that required sheer energy to win, but rather, patience, timing, planning, and anticipation. And given that the male seemed to be digging deep into his reserve of powers, it was only a matter of time before his cards ran out.

Hayato held the blast of electricity of as long as he could. It was time to get serious. As the prismatic would around them cracked and shattered due to the pure powers hitting one another it was time to step things up.
"Everyone’s hopes and dreams. Let my body be the catalyst that brings forth your creation." With that Hayato had entered his World Fusion state. Having uttered the incantation all his base skill had increased 8x. Just after that Mia had tried to surprise him with a punch. Though he noticed and with his improved reaction, and his strength he countered that punch with his own fist. His strength at this point could easily decimate several city blocks. His improved stability allowed him to stay up while receiving, and greatly countering that punch. That already mangled arm that Mia had could easily just fall apart by the sheer strength. With no doubt this single punch would have sent the young lady flying through several buildings, giving Hayato the time that he needed.
It was time to end all this. His wings faded as a set of golden angel wings erupted from his back. He flew up into the air at his maximum speed, not his flight speed, but his improved base speed allowed him to easily travel at Mach 3. He appeared above where the woman had landed and put his greatly improved purification skills to use. While he could do multiple blocks of the city he decided to do just 1, the one he and the woman were at.
His wings spread wide as a massive pillar of light fell on the area. One could consider it a sort of tactical nuclear weapon of purification. Yes this took a massive chunk of his energy, but he wanted to end this. Anything that was infected in that area would take massive purification damage. He knew it would kill bystanders that were infected. But he was done with the woman. She was either going to be purified, or die in the process.

THE INFECTED COME
The world around Mia was beginning to crack and shatter. It was if everything was finally coming to an end and the male was ready to conclude this battle at long last. As The Hound-Leader could most certainly feel his energy surging and swelling to a very critical point. One where she may not be able to otherwise maintain a strong dominance of this battle. Therefore, she was ready to otherwise prepare for and embrace the end of necessary.
Since, as soon as the woman engaged The Iramasha in combat with his release form, it was quite apparent that this battle was already over. The reason being is because her entire arm had been blown clear off from the force of his punch. It would take nothing short of a miracle in order to overwhelm this sudden mass of strength. As while Mia was quite strong, she was still nothing more than a gang leader and had spent the majority of her life fighting slums. This wasn't the greatest place in order to hone one's fighting skill.
Thus, it was quite natural that she would fall and break from a massive eight times increase in strength from Hayato. It was quite cruel, really. All the woman really desired was to be able to have her gang thrive and flourish in the streets of Chicago. It was a rough climate with the way the demons had influenced the different parts of the city. There were those who decided to seal themselves away in totally separate realities within various districts, while other sections were segregated and cut off from one another. It was hard to really find a place where they belonged; as they couldn't accept hiding in the shadows, nor could they retreat to a fantasy world or find any purpose in serving Shadow Fall.
So, it was up to Mia in order to lead her brotherhood and mark their own niche in this chaotic world. And things seemed to be going quite well for them. While they didn't control the underworld, the woman managed to have a sizable amount of demons, humans, hollows and other races unite under her gang to find their own family. They broke the law, fought for one another and took resources in order to otherwise maintain their hold in the world and find a place where they belong.
Yet, as her body started shattering and crumbling to pieces under the weight of this mass power, it seemed all of those recollections were for not. Most of Hell Hounds were under the influence of the infection known as the Juin and there was no telling what after effects may be left on the individuals. It was sickening to have all of this robbed from them because of some damn parasite. And, even with it empowering, the ridiculous agent could barely stand toe to toe with a release form attack.
As, within a matter of moments, Mia was totally and utterly blown away by the nuclear-level explosion and was sent hurtling into the earth with the virus expunged from her body entirely. She was bloody, broken and entirely exhausted at this point. However, she was at least free to be herself at this point. No longer did she feel the burning grip of the juin influencing her mind, body, and soul; but instead she was allowed to think and feel her own thoughts, motives and memories. It was a relief and one she was glad to have before her death.
With Mia's vision now blurring, organs failing and blood leaving her body at great rates; the woman would hold her hand out to the male and transmit this message into his mind:
"Thank you....for freeing me. I...am not long for this world. But....please take this and warn everyone you can about the virus...."
Then, with a final burst of energy, the woman would have closed her eyes and transmitted the mutations occurring within the juin. This plague needed to be stop and Mia only saw nothing but grim times for the earth ahead. However, that wasn't a battle that she needed to worry about. All she could feel was her body becoming faint, faint and fainter until she drifted off into the next life.
At this point -- the woman was dead.

Hayato panted heavily as the pillar of light disappeared. He still had plenty of energy, but things were taking a toll on him. He felt pretty dumb for not going to a higher form earlier. He had killed the woman, but it seemed she was relieved because of it, even for a few brief moments she was herself, and could die as herself.
As a parting gift she had left Hayato with the knowledge of what was going on.It was some sort of parasite doing this. He could hear, he could feel the masses, and those mean gang members coming to his location. The area around him started to shimmer as teleported into the Iramasha realm. He knew he could get help there. The angel Iramasha could purify the the infected. This was a breakthrough.

The breakthrough had come. Mankind was saved. The cure was found, and the world was saved. The rest was just details; victory was as good as sealed with this single act. There was nothing that could be done to stop the course of history, anymore. Much like a single flake of snow starts an avalanche, this single victory had been enough to end the threat entirely.
And if you believe that, you no doubt think that muscles and nerves and organs and flesh are 'just details', and the skeleton was what really mattered. You'd certainly think the bruised purplish-black doorway appearing just behind the body of the fallen woman was just a detail. A footnote in history; window dressing on a house that was as good as sold. Frosting on an already sweet, delicious, exceptionally moist cake.
And like frosting, the white, clawed hand that slipped out and clasped around Mia's head was just another teeny little detail. The name attached to the hand? Who cares? This was the end of the story, don't you know? Nothing comes after the end. Now was the time for the 'ever after'. This hand could do nothing to stop the flow of time, to edit the course of history. It had been done.
The insignificant detail finished slinking out from its ringside seat, clutching the body of the felled woman, and tilted its head to the side. A pair of eyes, slitted and elliptical like a snake's, examined her body curiously. Unlike a snake's, they seemed to be spinning and rotating ever so slightly; at one moment they were parallel to one another, and in the space of a blink of an eye, one was now perpendicular to the other. There was a sharp inhalation, an ever so amused chuckle. At least, it might have been a chuckle. Or it could've just as easily been someone trying to be heard, in the middle of a quiet room.
"Hmhm."
The hollow's mouth opened slowly, with an almost inexorable quality to it; not nearly as inexorable as that beautiful moment of victory, no doubt. After all, the wicked witch had been defeated. The house had fallen. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. History would have its way, no matter the fine details.
Fine thing, then, that the hollow had no intention of stopping a cure from being devised.
"Mia Perez, was it? You know, those Hounds of yours always did strike me as quite interesting. But you always lacked a sense of scale. Your talents went to waste, even to the very end. You brought them all together, you armed them, you taught them to fight...and then you went and did something as stupid as getting yourself infected. You see, this is why I will never understand humans, if I live to be a thousand."
He paused for a second, expression turning almost ruminative, as if he were stuck looking in his own head for a moment.
"Or longer, even. But worry not, Mia. Your talents may have gone to waste, but your efforts didn't. I'll be sure to pick up where you left off. The Hounds will have their leader. In effigy, if nothing else. And I mean...if it looks like a duck, walk like a duck, and quacks like a duck..."
Yaksha chuckled ever so slightly, jaw unhinging; he threw her body into his maw, chewing ruminatively, hands resting just over his chest, waiting for the inevitable moment. This was, almost purely, a symbolic gesture; a declaration of intent. If there was a method of transubstantiation, it still eluded the hollow. He couldn't be sated on mere flesh and blood.
But when the real bread and butter came, he'd have an eternity to learn how to look, walk, and quack just like a Mia Perez.
And the world keeps spinning. All of this is just details, after all.

EMBRACE THE MELANCHOLY
Artist: Ozoi The Maid - Song: Abhorrence - Word Count: n/a
Fear. That was a very real emotion which spread throughout the lands. Fear of the unknown, fear of death, fear of action and fear of safety. These were all valid anxieties which constricted a spirit, constrained them and trapped ones self within an infinite pit of terror and woe. It could make reality turn from a wonderful paradise, to one where you are utterly consumed and derealized by panic. Yet, in spite of such strong sentiments, The Mistress Of Melachony still found herself bound by contract to deploy to this mission for the betterment of Shadow Fall and her makers whims.
The Archduchess of The Sixth Circle of Shadow Fall found herself in the midst of a zombie infected city and it was her task to help stabilize the city, purge the scum and somehow deal with any threats which may come about as a result of this instability. Yet, even if that was the mission, the woman couldn't help but feel the center throne was thriving off this chaos and conflict. It was within the nature of The Demon Queen to feed off the act of lunacy.
In spite of that, though, the inner essence of Saiko Mori found herself in a sense of dread over this outcome. Although it was far too late to ease out of this spiritually binding contract, apart of the woman wished she never embark on this quest. It caused her to curse herself over and over and over again as she made her way to the city of Chicago and found herself landing on a building none too far from Yaksha. As her pale blue eyes surveyed the scene, the half-breed couldn't help but give a tired sigh at this scene of murder, destruction and sickness.
"..."
After taking a few moments to compose herself, the woman closed her eyes, breathed and allowed these sensations of dread that made her feel not even in sync with the world around her to ease. The burden of a mind plagued with trepidation was great, but it still could be controlled with enough focus. Therefore, with this state of fixated concentration at work, the woman could then begin utilizing her mental resources in order to begin sycnhorzing herself with The Demi Network. This was one of the tools that Shadow Fall utilzied in order to handle their vast enviormental changes, keep track of battle affairs and stay in communication with one anohter.
While portions of it were taken down by this Juin force, the task Saiko was given had been to start the process of restablishing this network to be rebooted in portions. So, since this section of Chicago seemed to be leveling out, Saiko spread her aqua colored energy throughout it and haramonzied with most of the magical and technological resources within the region which were owned by Shadow Fall. In doing this, she'd alter the prorties of these tools to be brought under control by her will, energy and authiroity through The Demi Network.
Ergo, within a manner of minutes, systems would begin to restore themselves within this portion of Chicago and the pale haired maiden could be seen as sweating and squinting her eyes out of frustartion because it was a tedious mental task. She was pushing through many different telepathic channels, sorting out different feeds and trying to purge the viruses which infleunced the network through her own half-breed magic which broke the boundary between the physical and metaphysical through it being utterly corrupted by the Demon Queen's own infleunce.
Thus, as a result, her awareness grew and this awareness caused her to take keen notice of someone: a hollow. Although he was nearby, the male seemed to be more than a backdrop than anthing else. If anything, it seemed like another nameless hollow, but he seemed rather -- off. For him to have been wandering around a battlefield like this meant that he possessed some intelligence. The reason for this conclusion is because most grunts would have been slaughtered in the midst of most conflicts in her experiance. Therefore, her attention became fixiated on him as she got to work with her duty.
"You...."
Although her voice was tender to the tone, it was still apparent she was on edge and felt very adverse to the male being. With her eyebrow raising, head tilting and body stiffening up; the woman was prepared for anything and didn't trust this person not to make the wrong move until she could further discern who he was, what his intentions were and how to move on from this encounter.
"...what is your reason for being here? This is a quarinated zone..."
Still speaking gingerly, her voice projected itself further outwards thanks to the benefit of her otherwordly energy amplifying the distance it reached. So, even if he were on the ground below her, Yaksha would more than likely still be able to hear her soft speaking tone.
"...you aren't supposed to be here unless you want to die. So why are you here...?"
And with that, the ball was in his court and Saiko would remain defensive, on edge and ever surverying until he made a word, an action and a response to all the inquries that she had for the male. All the while, he'd begin to notice that the south portion of Chicago was forming an ocenic blue hue around it. This was the infleunce of The Archduchess spreading throughout the city and beginning to seal off, purify and rot out a lot of The Juin in this sector by trying to pin-point all of the supposed infected and burning the parasitc agents to a crisp with the defenses readlabily avaiable by Shadow Fall's own capacity to induce enviormental shifts; the likes of which included precise and exact tempature changes to small or large regions. As, with that capacity, Saiko could focus in on the threats an indvidual level and vaprozie thme until they were nothing more.
Hence, with that much being shown in the background, it would be in the best interest of The Hollow to make his intention known clear. As an anxious person was a dangerous person because of the fact they were prone to react out of response to their own perceived fears.
