City of Light Defenses

Defenses:

Reishi Convergance System [RCS] Niflheim has created a system that draws reishi from the air around the city for roughly 120 miles, funneling it all into a single point of these sheilds. Now what do they do? Well these shields work in such a way that they focus either evenly across the city in the 100 mile radius, or in single points for stronger attacks. Such as if a espada level combatant was to fire a cero at the city, it would be possible for the shield to divert power from one point, compound and then reflect the attack or cancel it outright. In this method this shield is more than capable of going blow for blow with zero tiered combatants, and also able to reflect certain attacks if they are from those under a tier range of 1-3, although this has but a very small chance of happening. Other facts about the external sheild include the ability to layer itself by drawing reishi from the quincy that inhabit the city of light itself, each member of the vandenreich can choose to put a portion of their power towards the city, such as while in the city if an individual chooses they could have a reduced tier of 1-5 while being 0-5 and that would be because the difference between their reduced tier and actual tier is the amount of energy that is going towards the defenses. This of course means that the quincy while within the confines of the city of light will be weaker than they normally would be. However there is a flipside to this such as benefits.

Benifits:

Visual Access: While being a part of the reishi convergance system it becomes possible for the individuals to link with the reishi that is free-forming in the air. This means that while within the city of light those within the system can see every single inch, every nook, every cranny of their quincy home. Seeing as this is a system that is comprised completely of reishi it means that if the city is invaded you are doing so while being under constant supervision of the vandenreich. They are able to completely see, and know the position of their enemies without a problem. Although certain area’s such as the city’s meeting center are completely void of this, simply because of the need to secrecy in these area’s. Any citizen of the city of light is able to tap into this reishi, and is able to view things just like the vandenreich does. They simply have to pledge a portion of their over-all power for this system to begin to grant them the complete effects of the reishi convergence system.

System inversion: In the chance that the system has been compromised by an outside force it becomes possible for the concept of the defenses to be inversed. This means those who are a part of the system can see a myriad of benefits. Such as their tier increasing, abilities getting strong under the effects of the Reishi Convergence System, or potentially being able to utilize this to prolong their vollstandig by a turn or two without much of a problem. However when the system inversion is in effect the outer walls of the city become as weak as they would be normally, making it so that the city itself will be vulnerable while system inversion is in effect.

Communication: Individuals can utilize a secondary function of the system, which links the reishi signatures of those within the system together to allow for them to communicate. This does not mean they can share energy with one another however. Instead utilizing this individuals can talk to one another on a virtually unhackable network seeing as it isn’t made up of coding or any form of machinery.

Defensive Aspects Of RCS:

Complete Reishi Dominance: In the radius of the reishi convergence system the free-floating reishi within the city proper is almost under complete control of the system itself. This of course means that abilities that affect the individual reishi particles within the city could become dampened, have increased strain, or even not work all together. This effect extends to abilities that manipulate the environment such as Zao Ka’s Influence, or other widespread skills. Of course this is not a 100% cancellation, but it does mean that these abilities will take much more time, effort and energy than they would need otherwise in normal situations. On the flip-side this also means that quincies find themselves having an easier time drawing reishi in the city, This can lead to them being able to potentially fire more arrows than before, or utilize their skills more efficiently.

Locked Reishi Signature: Some people are able to bypass reishi by simply matching their wavelength with the reishi itself. Now this is nearly impossible with the reishi network of RCS because of the fact that the signature is multi-faceted, comprised of many different signatures that are weaved together in a way that is similar to an encrypted code one might find blocking someone from getting into an important computer or file. Think of it as a sprititual fire-wall if you will. This is how the defense is kept from being turned against the quincies themselves.

Structural Strengthening: Unless the defense is inverted generally buildings which are comprised of both solid matter and reishi see some sort of enhancement by this system. Such as buildings can withstand blows such as bombs which would normally cause mundane structures to disintegrate. Other examples of this is that glass within the city of light is more like stone without reinforcements and like steel if it was normally reinforced glass to begin with. Of course when the defenses are inverted these buildings are as weak as a normal mundane building would be.
