When Inami spoke to her, it was not through a physical mouth that she spoke, instead, it was an invasion of her mind. It was an intrusion on the one final sanctuary Ceal had. The place that laid bare her dreams and aspirations, her thoughts and her doubts. She echoed around and around in her head as the feeling ravaged her consciousness. It was such an otherworldly feeling. Looking upon this formless Inami, this formless queen, one could equate it to looking at into the edge of infinity itself. The edges of darkness, a place so barren and wasted that even existence did not bear to form. It was an origin both mystical and primordial, something she noticed lie in common with all of the stronger queens of the demon race. Truly terrifying they were, to have such presence, such power and still retain a semblance of sanity from a world so inherently impossible.
Having felt her energy sufficiently drained, she hungered for what she lacked. The Seal of Eris drained her nearly completely to accommodate the pain she was feeling. Weak kneed and swooning, she was barely aware of the cold and sickly touch upon her chin. The Queen, she was looking at her again. Staring at her, staring past her. Gazing into her very soul. It made the girl feel bare, it made her feel vulnerable, at least, it would have if Ceal didn't feel so distant. Twas like swimming under the sea, feeling the crushing pressure depths below the surface as the stifling water sought to drown her.
When Inami filled her full of her essence, of her power, her energy; It felt like she was being pulled from this watery silence, forced to the surface with abrupt swiftness. Much to her shock, Ceal gasped at this power. It was not unlike the times before when Mana had done so. It was this that brought her back, to finally notice the oozing darkness that left burn marks on her skin. She felt like she was on an adrenaline high, a force state of stimulation that felt odd, jittery.
In the back of her mind, Ceal wondered when it would be done. And what was truly happening ot her. She could feel as if her self was “expanding”, rather, like she wsa gaining something new she hadn't had before. Like the Seal but... not, at the same time. Ceal stared thoughtfully at the Queen's dual colored eyes. Wondering, wishing to know more, to seek truth. Though her mind may be clouded in agony, of pain and pleasure both, she still had the conscious of mind to think, to wonder.
Briefly, Ceal's mind drifted. She wondered if this is what she truly wanted. Time and again, she held close to her heart the concept of caring for others. She constantly demeaned her own values, her own accomplishments. She was in a constant state of self-loathing that prevented her from feeling like she was owed anything, entitled to anything. She'd lost her life already; That is how she saw it. She made a colossal mistake, her family, her life, her entire existence was washed away in an instant, just like that. She'd left her adoptive father for this, walked away with naught but a letter. He had been by her side through it all. Come to think of it, he had been there all along, ever since birth. She began to wonder if that seemed weird, odd.
Why was she thinking about this now? Did it somehow play into what was happening? Maybe, in the back of her mind, she wondered that maybe... just maybe, this doctor was more than just that, something not necessarily different, but more. Always keen to check up on her and her brother's progression, their powers, how strong they were, physical condition. Was there an ulterior motive?
If that was true, if it were to be true; it could mean her life was fabricated to begin with. Created for a purpose other than life. With a set duty, a set.. protocol.
The feeling of the mystical energy running through her blood broke her from her thoughts. It was an inherent power that she couldn't describe, but knew she was building up to. First, it started with her hand. She looked at it as if it may be foreign though she didn't know why. Slowly, she opened up her fingers, only to close them again into a fist. She did this several times thereafter, looking at it with a hard gaze. She felt, weird, perplexed even. Her brow furrowed as the power flooded her.
”It's... hard to describe. It feels.. like aching. I feel like- if you had not given me a part of you... I would have already fainted,” She replied, her voice sounding as puzzled as she looked.
It was then that her puzzled faced changed, the expression hardened into one of .. it wasn't fear, shock? Ceal withheld her breath, to nervous now to breathe. She had realized that she had now agreed for Inami to do something irreversible, irreparable. As her anxiety rose, so did the air around her. The air inherently got excited, charged by Ceal's electrical stimulation. A faint crackle could be heard if you listened hard enough, static discharging once it's build up began too great.
They happened occasionally at first, nothing to be alarmed about, but they grew in frequency as Ceal's further slipping mental state was unable to control her powers, especially when they were being molested by the darkness that was ravaging her body.
Still on her knees, Ceal felt like doubling over, she felt like hugging herself. She was unable to process correctly what had happened, and with her slipping psyche, allowed the child of chaos that had been following her, tormenting her, speak again.
”Why... you ask? Why, just look at her. She's a mess. She's such a mess and it's positively... beautiful. A girl of such innocence, of such kind warmth. I want to see how far she can fall before she is broken forever,”
