ENTER THE DEPTHS

Artist: Mogeko Castle - Song: N/A - Word Count: N/A

Far in the outlands of the soul society, there still lurked secrets in the mountains, in how the streams simply just flowed without hindrance. It was peaceful in a way really, how everything and anything out here relied and was in harmony with each other. Sometimes things died, killed off by a predator or hollow. Other times things lived, able to defend themselves another day. So over and over this endless dance goes, Or that’s what Niflheim in her thousand years of existence had observed. However what was she doing out here in the deepest reaches of the soul society far from the seireitei or the rukongai? It was quite simple, because she couldn’t train in her homeland which had naturally been abundant with reishi, she was going to train here where the reishi ran like syrup and lit up the skies before her very eyes. It was for that reason that niflheim had begun originally with a low inhalation and centered herself, like a fighter getting ready to go into the rink, then she sat down and straightened her back, her rhythmic breathing allowing her to fall into a state where she was getting more in tune with herself. The questions that ran through her head being. . “..Why do you seek power? Is it for yourself?” To that she’d answer. ”..No it’s for my race and for myself.” It was only then that she let herself begin to pull reiatsu in from the world around her, the infinite blue glow growing while she did so.

Reishi was something that was bent to her imagination, so around her she began with some light concepts. Starting with “geometric shapes” The reishi would seem to contort, bend and eventually form the different shapes of squares, triangles and others she could not name, but had at one point seen with her mind’s eye. Next the constructs began to change and dispersed, forming hundreds upon hundreds of tiny lines that went up and down. These “Lines” would then bend inwards forming a flower that would then explode into a brilliant mist of blue energy that spun around the quincy as she began to draw more energy inwards. Faster she drew it in, as if she was working a muscle and trying to get better at it, as she went she was changing up how she did things, checking for strain and how much energy it took to do something one way versus how much energy it took do to it another way. Her methodical mind doing each thing in a step by step process, not leaving anything out until she exhaled and tried what she did when fighting annie, raising her hands she could feel the energy condensing and beginning to humm.

This humming turned into a keening wail while her perfectly manicured fingers sliced clean through a boulder that was next to her, both sides shimmering with a touch of blue as the quincy just exhaled and thought about it. How could she perfect this. . Was there some kind of fighting style out there that she could potentially utilize to make this easier? Testing it she’d hit the ground with her hand formed like a knife. Causing it to sink in, before she pulled back and did it the same but only this time it was with a open palm. The ground this time would explode from the vibrating reishi repulsing it, sending it shooting out in many directions before the Quincy had finally hit the ground hard with a closed fist, that had caused something different to happen, the ground shattered inwards on contact and while it didn’t explode as much as with an open palm? It certainly had more wide-spread damage than the knife shaped movement which simply cut through things. In this way she continued to move in dance, her feet kicking boulders and her fists cleaving through rock, stone, wood, each swing generating whirls of wind on their own while she practice, beads of perspiration atop her brow.

She needed to get stronger . . . at all costs.

The outskirts of the Soul Society were all but abandoned these days. Without the proper degree of care and attention, they had been left to rot, and in some ways that was good. Nature had evolved to a point of greatness, where the presence of humans was totally and utterly void. But, at the same time it was were Hollows would hide, and come from on occasion, to prey on the weak and helpless, those to far from the Seretei to enjoy rapid response and protection from the Soul Reapers. When they did get a report, the hollows were long gone by the time anyone actually arrived.

So it was that Mirja Eeola, stalked her prey in these badlands. She wouldn't let a single Hollow escape her, even though this was not ordered patrol, it was patrol she had made herself. The Fifty Year War had left a permanant mark on her soul, and so she was prepared to hunt the Hollows to whatever ends of the Earth she needed to go to accomplish this. At these ends of the earth, there was always something interesting to see. Like, right now, she was seeing someone putting on a light show, waving shapes, lines, and even flowers. She was pretty good at it, to be honest. Having no Reiatsu to be sensed by, Mirja decided to stand for a while and watch. She could still obviously be seen, but the girl looked rather involved in her training, so Mirja doubted that would happen.

It then moved from lights and flowers to slicing up bolders and exploding the Earth. Which, Mirja thought, was a pretty interesting trick. So Mirja moved up, making her presence known.
"Hey. What are you up to, all the way out here?"

ENTER THE DEPTHS

”.. It’s not enough. . . .” The quincy thought as her movements got faster, sharper , more precise. As if she was a swordsman or swordswoman wielding a sword. One that was perpetually hellbent on causing nothing but the finest of destruction; even then though the quincy was not trying to tear up the landscape, instead she was merely testing out her skills on inanimate unliving objects. She was marginally content as her hand tore through rock like it was simply parting through water at high speed, there was some tension there but nothing else to stop her from flipping back and landing on her hands. Her feet scissoring out and her shirt riding up to expose her toned abdominal muscles and her well sculpted figure. Her feet slamming into a tree once horizontally then as she came back around, twice vertically landing on her feet as she stood up the tree split into six pieces falling apart as she stood up and let out a deep huff of exhertion. She didn’t have the best physique for a normal supernatural being, and that was why she was working on it, trying to improve so that she would become worthy of her people; that was important to her.

So moving her hands up the slender sides of her neck she had worked the messy hair into a single braid down the back, her deft fingers encircling the braid until it became a bun on the back of her head, reishi then weaving inwards to hold it into place before she began moving again, a whir of arms and legs, pushing even harder, even faster. Flipping melding into dropkicks and rising sweeps, launching off tree’s and felling tree’s in the exact same movements while she found herself revolving through the air, the sound of wood on feet, wood then splintering as she launched off again. The beating of her heart, which hammered like a drum inside of her chest, and even how she had to look out across the landscape which often changed from earth, to sky, to earth again. She was making use of the situation until she heard something .. A . . . A voice!?!? I didn’t sense anyone.”

The quincy missed her next perch and crashed into the ground, a tumble of knees and elbows as she rolled it off flipping a few times until she landed on her rear and looked forward at the one who had greeted her. A shinigami, someone who should be feared and or should be never dealt with .. or atleast that was how niflheim normally felt about these beings. They had killed off her race, and because of it she still didn’t quite like shinigami but. She wasn’t about to let a shinigami die on her watch, which was why as her hand jerked forward she didn’t form a bow but rather threw a dagger made of reishi, similar to a scheele snider as it flew end over end and embedded itself in the hollow that had snuck up on the girl, it’s mask shattering while Niflheim exhaled and stood up, even now in her work-out clothes the markings of the vandenreich could be seen on her clothing. The embroidery of their many sided emblem both on the side of her pants and the chest of the other. . . She’d merely exhale for now, as she went back to crunches upside down from a brantch and said to the shinigami between repetitions.

”..I’m a stranger passing through. How about you ?”

Mirja watched the girl flip and jump, and work out with intense zeal. She was pretty good as well. There was fire in her soul, and she was intensely driven, from what Mirja could see. It mirrored her quite well, since the world was ever moving onwards, and Mirja felt like she needed to move with it, or be left behind and eventually die. It looked like she could do with a rest, from the huffs she was letting out. And then she fell on her ass so cutely when Mirja spoke up and obviously frightened her, not expecting anyone so far out, and not sensing her approch.

Mirja played with the idea of going to catch the girl from the tree, but realized she would be a rougher, more painful thing to land on than the ground itself, so didn't bother. The Quincy girl - because it was so obvious she was a Quincy, they were like Vegans in the fact that they couldn't ever possibly let you not know they were Quincy, adorned with so many emblems - formed a knife and then threw it at Mirja, who didn't move an inch, letting it sail past her and kill the Hollow behind her.
'D'ww, she killed Jojo' she pouted to Beowulf, who gave a deep, rumbling sigh.
'Your obsession with baiting Hollows will be the death of you. And then where will I be?' he retorted.

Mirja then focused her eyes on the girl as she started doing cruches off a tree, and claimed to be just passing through.
"Ohh, I'm a Valkyire. Brynhildr. You are dead, I've come to take you to the tables of Vallhalla" She replied, speaking with her Norweigen accent thick in her tone. It was clear she didn't believe the girl was just passing through, but also didn't seem overtly bothered about it.

” She's a strange one. “ Niflheim thought as she flipped from the branch and landed on the tips of her toes, absorbing the shock of the landing before she turned around to face the girl. Her expression remaining neutral as ever as if she was but a reflection of the snow and the ice that she had lived in for so long. Niflheim wasn’t really interested in many things, even if this world itself was beautiful she still had many a time, seen the more unsavory sides of it. She had endured much and honestly had to go through a good deal to even get here, hence why when the girl said that the quincy was already dead. . She well, The quincy didn’t smile, instead she just exhaled and went back to a series of vicious spinning kicks, to be topped off by a wicked three hundred and sixty degree back kick, the crisp sound of the air booming behind her kick would cause leaves of nearby trees to be knocked off their branches, fluttering in the breeze while Niflheim leaned back and put out another flurry of kicks, dispersing the leaves further as she seemed to be deep in thought for the moment. Even a simple joke like the one the girl said was being over-analyzed in the quincies logical mind.

Is she saying that she’s going to kill me? the quincy thought for a mere millisecond before dismissing it. This girl probably didn’t have what it took to kill her , hence why for the moment at least she exhaled and allowed herself to go back to her workout, kick after kick, punch after punch, slowly bit by bit she was getting used to the flurry of movement, and now began to incorporate that vibrating energy into it again, smashing holes in the ground, upending tree’s. All of it would happen with light kicks and careless swishes of her delicate bodice, turning her once more into a tool of destruction that continued to break, blast, and cut things into oblivion. This also gave her time to figure out how she was going to answer this other . .”girl” simply because she for the most part, was not really good with interacting with people who weren’t quincy. Yuki may have been an oddity in that case, however Niflheim would have tried none the less, chuckling for the moment as she said in a dry. . Humorless tone.

”..I don’t think the gods want me just yet.”

Then with her sly remark out of the way? She had continued her motions, her legs moving in circular kicks before finally she stopped to take another breather. Sitting down and then utilizing her masterful reishi manipulation to cool the very air around her, slowing down the vibration of molecules until she felt like she was back in the frigid cold of antarctica, savoring it’s crisp refreshing nature that hit her like a well placed wake-up-slap. A exhalation of glee leaving her mouth as she sat down on the grass and relaxed, her expression with it’s slightly stone-silver hue shifting up to glance at the Shinigami as she asked once in a calm . . searching kind of tone.

” .. . So are you just a patrol?

The girl didn't seem to respond, and just carried on with her training. Which was fine, it gave Mirja the ability to watch her fight, and as she watched, she mentally went over her movements, as she was rather iterested in this girl. She had all that you could need, fire and passion and zeal. All she needed now was to not look and act like some Ice Queen, and they might get along really well. Eventually, she spoke, claiming that the gods did not want her yet, and then asked if Mirja was a patrol. She had a dry voice, without a hint of warmth to it, which made Mirja's favourite pass-time rather difficult.

"Gods don't want anyone, it's what makes them Gods. But, not exactly, no. I'm out hunting Hollows, but it's not an offical patrol. It's just me hunting them. And then I found you. And you are training, it seems. If you don't mind a bit of imput from my side, I could probably give you some help. Hakuda-based techniques are my speciality, and so I've got some interesting foresight, if you'll have it" Mirja hoped that being nice and friendly would get her to warm up a little, so they could get on to the flirting part of the conversation.
