Lunar Aftermath [OPEN]
Fri Jul 29, 2016 12:23 am
Events had turned quite bad for the events unfolding on the moon, what started as being bad only turned worse. When an explosion rocked the Moon Base, it was different than most of the attacks that she had felt hit the moon during the siege. She had successfully handled the situation with Verathius in the Sector G, with the assistance of Shatari and Carter. However she began to make her way over to check up on Azure Iramasha, her teacher when the blast exploded throughout the base and she received a notification from one of the Unknowns saying that Azure had died.
The very notification brought shock to the young woman. "But I, I was.." now panic filled her voice. "No, He can't have died." it was one that was filled with shock and the initial feeling was that something must've been wrong, something must've gone for this to have happened. But deep down she knew it was true. Even now she no longer felt Azure's presence on the base, despite this though she had to keep going and stay strong. Despite their time was short lived she had learned a few things from Azure and it was that she had to be a leader.
Movement was fast, in fact she was no longer walking or even running. Chifuyu had moved using the Valkyrie system to achieve a much higher speed than she could alone, her mind carefully calculating the path which she would take although she noticed a small group of Vanguard personnel nearby, all appeared shocked although she ignored them.
When at last the young woman had arrived where Azure was reported to have been the place was in ruins. There was nothing left, and the woman fell to her knees for a moment. First it was the fact that Azure was dead and it was true all along but then her mind went to a certain Iramasha she met a few days ago and she slumped her head. "I told her your wouldn't die, Azure! I told her you wouldn't die! Damn you.. Damn" she began although she simply fell to her knees and began to weep at the death of Azure.
It left her there for a few minutes before she got up and pulled herself together, now was not the time for crying. Azure gave her a few pointers before he died and she wasn't going to simply fall on her ass and give up. So she dragged herself to stand and waited for the Unknown who alerted her to arrive. In that time her tears drying on her face.

“..He lived as he died probably, yet what did i accomplish?”
Bitter frustration, and regret. Two warring emotions filled the heart of the unknown. He hadn’t though about this happening. Never had he dreamed that the mark he had taken in oath would have vanished suddenly after the first blast that had rocked the moon had taken place. As he himself had been buried under rubble, as the world fell apart after his shameful display in defending against the likes of neoveta and shadow fall. It had been the first time he had truly ever been defeated by another being, and the first time he had ever really lost his cool. Even now he didn’t quite understand it, his own actions, but it wasn’t a time for self regret there was a job left for him to do and even in his weary state he was going to do it. His body moved and the ruble slid off of him, his appearance having changed apparently due to whatever aftereffects he had from the damage that neoveta had inflicted on him. His mis-matched eyes surveying the landscape for now, taking it in all the destruction and the desolation, and he had also sensed a familiar signature.
Quickly moving his body vanished via warp, appearing beside the body in time with them hitting the ground. The girl had looked like she was crying, and that brought fury singing into his ancient veins. How dare someone leave another behind, that was a fact of war that was messy and unforgivable, sometimes people died, sometimes people lived, but mostly there was catastrophy and heartbreak left in the wake of terrible carnage and destruction. The base was in shambles, everything wasn’t completely lost however. It was time to rebuild and get on with it, the moon was not lost, it was merely destroyed. Destroyed was something that could be changed, a die that could be re-rolled to get a better future to it. So as he walked up, his multi-colored hair moving, and his pale skin reflecting sun-light, he had said in a weary tone.
“..Reagent, it seems you have made it. As you may have gotten my message, Azure. He is no longer. “
He paused for a moment his eyes closing in respect before he had walked over to one of the crushed entrances into the vanguard compound on the center of the moon, the compound that had been blown completely to smitherreens, or atleast most of it had been blown up, the passages of the base would have certainly to some extent been able to withstand the blast even of azure himself, because of the fact that the base had been made to do so, it was as simple as that. For now he had allowed his expression to remain calm and calculating his fist raising back and then jerking forward, the force of his blow vaporizing the rubble entirely, before the entrance stood there cracked and strained but open none the less. Blackheart had exhaled and ducked under the half caved in ceiling and said in a tone that echoed back.
“Lets see if we can find the body for the casket and funeral back home. He deserves as much, and i won’t leave this damned rock without scouring every inch of it for him.”
He spoke with truth, as one of Azure’s hand-picked unknown he wouldn’t rest or leave until he found his body, or confirmed that the body was no longer on the moon. It didn’t matter to him if it took days or months, as in the eyes of a being that had lived thousands of years such things were but child’s play. Hence why atleast for the moment he continued upon his path, but he was also not a man of few morals, which was why he would wait for the reagent leaning against the broken threshold. His face turned to look at her , taking in her position while he also said in a softer tone.
“..Don’t stray too far from me, this play may end up coming down any moment.”

As the thought of what she must do finally made its way to her mind of the young Yuudeshi she heard the approach of the being that alerted her to the passing of Azure Iramasha. She turned to him as he addressed her, the dried tears on her face and her red eyes made her quickly rub her eyes.
"I am aware of Azure's untimely passing. Thank you Blackheart. I do hope that this is not the end of Vanguard, the damage was extensive and the death of Azure only makes it that much worse"
Her words were shallow but she set a determined look in her eyes and she moved towards the destroyed entrance behind the Unknown. The chaos had caused a lot of damage although Chifuyu couldn't help but notice the amount of bodies that appeared, what was more distrurbing was that most appeared to be twisted and not even human. It was clear that these were not of Vanguard origin although she was shocked that there seemed so few Vanguard operatives littered the ground compared to the monsters.
Is it possible they ate the bodies? Does that mean we won't find Azure?
"Blackheart, where do you suppose we begin searching for Azure's corpse? This place is large and certain places are more destroyed than others. I also think we should collect one or two of these corpses for further study"
The girl tried to take an authoritative role and she tried to think about everything that had happened.

“..It’s all broken.. Why did they have to do this?”
Blackheart’s fingers coiled around the shattered door frame with surprising strength. It would shatter beneath his grip, ground to dust while the male continue to walk in further. Many would be unable to discern emotions in his eyes, because he had too many years of experience hiding the hurt however to those that knew him? There would be bloodlust, and rage of the likes he had only felt one time before. Which was when he had destroyed the entire pocket dimension that he had called his home, that side of him the slumbering beast that only wanted to destroy those who slighted it was beginning to rear it’s head. While he said nothing there would be almost an aura about him, a smoldering pressure that was hard to miss. It wasn’t a pressure that was spiritual, or even from his willpower it was an entirely different monster. It was 8,000 years of killing, 8,000 years of knowledge, and 8,000 years of bloodthirsty emotion that was Projected from the davana of bare hand combat. He was the amalgamation of a warrior’s spirit, strong and true. Unbroken and uninhibited by others, yet also guided to protect those who could not protect themselves. He was a demon, but before that he was something more important. He was a warrior. . . and that meant he had duties.
Even with this ominous energy that had been brought into the world, The hatred, the sickness it would bring, he could already feel everything descending into chaos. The energy even encroached on his own psyche, even though it was held at bay due to his pure willpower, He’d turn his head over his shoulder for the moment, he could hear her words, here was a girl that was eons younger than him. When he was even in his hundreds her world had been stuck in a stage similar to the stone-age. However for what ever reason she had a position that was at this point important. Because of this he nodded as she asked about the body samples, and yet her first question? He didn’t want to answer it for a simple reason. No body would be able to hold up to such a blast, Just looking at the state of the vanguard base he already was willing to bet there would be no bodies here, other than the few strewn at the entrance. After that though he’d pull her close and keep an arm not quite over her shoulder but hovering over her because of one simple face.
If the moon collapsed on them as they ventured into the depths here it would not be a pretty sight. Infact he was almost certain if such a thing happened while HE himself would not be killed under the weight it would take every single ounce of his strength to keep the rocks from crushing Chifuyu. Which was why there would be another aspect that she might pick up on. The rolling power that exuded from his skin was stronger now than it had been in the fight with neoveta. The amount of power that was exuded was enough to be felt anywhere on the moon, actually it was enough to be felt like a beacon anywhere in at least a thousand miles or so until then it seemed to drop drastically this oppressive power that was similar to that of a new-born star simply vanished, now were it went would become apparant as his skin had become increasingly heated on the shoulders and exterior of his body, cooling off only after he had absorbed all that energy and applied it to his body increasing his strength, and durabiltiy to a point that he felt comfortable walking into the dead-center of a crumbling base that could potentially collapse at any given moment.
Afterwards? He didn’t really care if he was being rude or improper here. He instead merely had pulled chifuyu even closer his gaze on the midst of the half caved in entrance. He was assessing for danger and making sure that once he committed to this, he would be able to get them out in one piece. He was an unknown, it was his job to protect the earth and all it’s inhabitants. Chifuyu, was also one of these inhabitants, so to his last breath? He would protect her as well, because this was his own method of the vanguard, he didn’t believe in words, he believed in action hence why he’d say in a soft tone, that would be hard to discern as anything but protective and also blunt.
“I’d prefer if you stay close, i cannot protect you otherwise.”
With the words out of the way he’d begin to walk into the passage he had excavated slowly beginning to duck under hanging lights, and even pushing parts of the wall back into place when need be, his expression of the bodies that had been either incinerated and left shadows on the walls or the crushed bodies that looked like a gooey paste on the ground below was neutral, he had seen worse, and he had to survey the damage.
