No matter one's opinion on most things, it could be fairly universally agreed upon that the Moon was a wondrous thing. The giant, mysterious and glowing slice of space closest and most accessible to the planet Earth.. hanging in the night sky.. a reminder of how small one is compared to the rest of the universe.. Whether or not humanity had ever actually landed on the moon was a matter of debate widely discussed for centuries, but no one could deny its splendor or magnificence especially when compared to how dull life on Earth can feel at times.
Right now, however, none of that mattered because the Moon was.. kind of exploding.
The warning had gone off just as soon as the attack had begun. The response had been quick and it had been universal. All of the Vanguard's contacts had feasibly gotten an alert once the emergency state had been set.. but a good amount of the alerts that were sent out in a general sense.. toward certain groups or certain leaders...
There were a couple of alerts, though, that in a state of emergency, were sent to specific people who needed to know.. and as soon as possible. One such person was the Vanguard leader's daughter.. someone who, until recently, had never led anyone.. Someone who had only ever sparred and battled and had never had to fight for real stakes.. Someone who, experience-wise, might have been a tad unprepared for this mission; Chiyoki Iramasha.
The young Hybrid Iramasha was a lot more sure of herself than perhaps she should've been. She was an expert, hell, even a master at what she does... on paper. Training, sparring, simulations, tests, missions.. they all showed her to be exceptional.. but nothing could truly replicate what a real war felt like.. and because of this, Chiyoki was walking into a world she knew nothing about.. one on fire.. one enveloped by chaos..
Which, of course, was what Azure would refer to as a "teaching moment."
The very moment that the signal crystal in Chiyoki's office had begun to pulse, she was up and out of her chair. The newly appointed head of the Hybrid Iramasha was nervous.. she could feel her heart racing.. but she had to keep herself calm. She knew what she was doing. She knew what her mission was. She could do this.
Chiyoki took a deep breath as she began focusing her chaos energy focusing on the sector she had been assigned in the Vanguard's moon base, seeing the front door in her head as she let out a breath, channeling her chaos energy into and around herself, feeling the image in her head pulling to her as she did so.. before opening her eyes and seeing that she had successfully made it, much to her own disbelief at the prospect, to the surface of the Moon.
Immediately, Chiyoki stood from where she had warped in, just in front of the door to this sector, and looked around for enemy presence. Good, she thought to herself, there didn't seem to be anyone else here... She backed herself closer to the door, pressing her spine up against it as she raised her right arm, holding her hand up with her palm facing forward. Chiyoki closed her eyes for a moment as she began to focus energy into her palm.. a mixture of reiatsu and the still as-of-yet unexplained magics she calls to her use crawled up her arm before firing outward in a fantastic display of light that created a seven-layered, flower-like shield in front of said door.
Said shield was the mythical Rho Ais (or as good a version as a student of magicka trained exclusively by Demons and Iramasha could generate) and was meant to create another obstacle to any enemies hoping to enter through this way.. as the shield would need a considerable amount of destructive force to shatter. The "petals" spun and danced, showing the shield's stability. Chiyoki smiled, a tad proud of herself with the quality of the magical shield.
The young girl moved away from where her back had been pressed to the door, walking a short distance away and crouching down, depending on her "Worthlessness" Origin's guarding of her spiritual signature to keep from giving away her position in case anyone had, in fact, come to try their luck...

While an assault was being carried out upon the Vanguards Moon base things in Hell were becoming.. Lively. For the most part things seemed normal, until focusing in upon one of the many layers, primarily the thirty-fifth. Soon after Neoveta's assault against the Vanguard base began things within the 35th layer of Hell suddenly picked up. Souls panicked, many becoming stricken with immense fear. The reason behind this? Gwen, Hell Beast of Bid'Daum, was making her way throughout the numerous floors created within her partners domain. The purpose of her journey? With how conflicts continued popping up in the various realms the crimson eyed female felt now would be the perfect time for her other half to once again leave his domain. After-all the Pale Skinned Demon had kept himself secluded, hidden away at the topmost floor within his layer, allowing only Gwen to bother him. Thus after nearly fifteen minutes of walking, for she wasn't in any true hurry, Gwen had finally arrived at the plain oaken door-way that lead to Bid'Daum's own dwelling.
"I'm coming in." The Hell Beast would simply state whilst pushing the door open before allowing it to swing shut behind her. Stepping further into the room Gwen's gaze would land upon a massive bed, easily the size of two or three king sized beds shoved together, upon which Bid'Daum lay in the center in a peaceful sleep. Smiling softly to herself the pale skinned female would continue to gaze softly at her partner before her voice broke the silence with commanding authority. "Wake up Bid'Daum. It's high time you become active again. Plus the realms seem to have gotten interesting."
"And what, may I ask, has captured your interest Gwen?" A tired, agitated voice would quietly speak out from Bid'Daum's position. Evidently the male hadn't been in all that deep of a slumber, that or he was just highly attentive even in his sleep. With a light smack of skin upon skin Bid'Daum slowly swept his long white hair out of his face before pushing himself into a sitting position. Slowly eyes would open to reveal a dull silver in which Gwen's reflection could easily be made out. With a piercing gaze falling upon his Hell Beast the pale Rakshasa awaited her answer.
"Well there has been some interesting activity lately, one of the Royals, Neoveta, has become quite active. Currently she's begun an assault upon one of the Vanguards bases, the one on the moon if I recall correctly." Meeting Bid'Daum's eyes Gwen's answer flowed forth smoothly, simply, and with a calm tone. Upon mention of an ongoing assault, led by a Royal of all demons, the Hell Beast easily spotted the spark of interest that shone in those silver eyes of her male counterpart. With that she knew he would soon be on his way, leaving the confines of his domain for the first time in years. In the meantime she would be more than happy to continue maintaining order within their domain. If anything the she was glad Bid'Daum was finally getting out of here once again, she just wished that for once he could bring her with him.. Alas it wouldn't happen quite yet.
True to her attentive analysis of her partner Bid'Daum did find himself interested in what could be going through the Royal's mind. While it mattered not why she felt the need to erase the existence of some insects the Rakshasa couldn't help but wonder what spurred on such action. Thus with his mind made up Bid'Daum's form rose swiftly from his bed, a single leap carrying him off its surface onto the floor around it. With a simple wave Bid'Daum's form became illuminated in a dark red light before scrambling much like a disrupted tv channel, before his form would collapse upon itself upwards from his feet and downwards from his head. The last thing that would be heard before his form vanished entirely would be a simple, "The Moon.. I wonder what it's like.."
By utilizing Astitva Kī Baṛhata Bid'Daum planned to arrive at the moon through several jumps. First from the demon realm to the human world, then from there to somewhere in orbit, then finally to the moon. While sounding like such a journey would take some time, due to the way Astitva Kī Baṛhata worked Bid'Daum would arrive at the moon in mere milliseconds. Far above the surface the Pale Skinned Demon's form would blink into existence in a similar manner to how he had left his layer, except in reverse. Rather than collapsing inward the demons form seemed to expand forth from a single point until his entirety appeared in static and a red glow before both ceased. Gazing around him Bid'Daum was met with four things. First the blackness of the expanse that is space. Seeing it for the first time was definitely something, but the Rakshasa felt no need to dwell on the thought. Second would be the sounds of combat, explosions, screams, buildings toppling, and so on. Third would be the dull white, crater covered, surface of the moon. And finally the Vanguard Base that was under attack.
Deciding to drop straight down into whichever sector of the base was below him Bid'Daum remained still as he descended. Within moments an impact would resound throughout Sector L as an object, Bid'Daum, crashed through the ceiling before impacting the ground below and causing a large cloud of dust to billow outwards from his position. As suddenly as it arose the dust was swept away by a strong air current as the Rakshasa merely swung his large blade through the space before him. Once the dust cloud was cleared from his vision Bid'Daum swept his gaze over the area, taking into stock that the exits seemed to be sealed while no-one remained in the area. "No Insects here to feast upon.. too bad.." The pale male would start speaking to himself while beginning to step towards one of the exits. "Guess I'll just destroy this place and move on.. I'm sure I'll find someone with a tasty soul soon."
As his final words left his lips Bid's tongue slid over them as he attempted to imagine what the souls he could eat here might taste like. Sadly for now he could only imagine, so destruction would have to take precedence over eating.. for the moment.

"Why is the Vanguard on the moon? Better yet, why are we on the moon? Why do you always jump whenever Kamui asks for anything?"
"This is an important alliance is why Kamui said...and you were complaining about being bored...and because I was bored...so the answer is boredom. Isn't that why we do anything?"
"No it is not, half the time we do anything is because you do something stupid. Well, more than half. You're kind of an idiot."
"I'm not an idiot...humans are just confusing and their language is even more so. I don't know how father survived so long with this species or how Kamui fits in so seamlessly with them. It doesn't make any sense to me."
"Because you're an idiot."
Izayoi didn't respond to his remarkably rude companion and unwilling life partner any further after that. He found most conversations were simply finished whenever Erebus just started calling him names, in this case it was "idiot" which wasn't horribly far from the truth when dealing with humans. The Sugiuran people didn't quite use languages like the humans do. They had written language, that wasn't the issue, but a lot of how they communicated was more...honest. They didn't have eight different words that meant the same thing short of minute contextual situations where they meant a slightly different thing. They usually had one word for each different context. Things were more honest, more direct...simpler even if they required a bit more memorization. Keeping track of every human word however was difficult and confusing. They had a mission to accomplish however and musing over his personal failings wouldn't get it finished any quicker.
"Alright Erebus! Initiate operation Exploring Eagle, Searching Sky!"
"We do not need an operation for hovering around in space while we look for the sector we're supposed to be parked at. Also, we're in space, there isn't a sky, your operation name somehow makes even less sense than usual."
"Well, I can't let you make the operation names anymore. All of yours are some weird allusion to darkness, you're kind of boring. Kamui liked your one that was a youth prism though."
"Youth Prism? The f...you mean Euphemism?"
"Yeah, that's what Kamui called it. I was really proud too, when I asked him about it he said I made him support Youth in Asia, I was really happy that I was such a positive influence on him!"
Erebus decided to let that one go. They were getting close to where they were actually supposed to be. This was where Kamui had wanted them, but the Dark God had no idea why. Kamui rarely did something on a whim, there was usually a point to every decision he made and if Sagumi was not involved, Kamui's decisions usually involved putting Izayoi in a spot where he could inadvertently cause some chaos simply by merit of the destructive qualities of his abilities. This might be the very first case where Kamui just wanted to use his brother's combat prowess to defend this thing...he doubted it, but it wasn't outside the realm of possibility. Then they finished encroaching upon their destination and Erebus saw it, saw why Kamui had shifted them to be there. There was at least one target present and Kamui did not exactly bother telling them who he wanted to protect the area from. However, something about the situation had caught Erebus's eye. Not the visible target himself, he didn't understand the humanoid concept of attractiveness and he was pretty certain that humanity's interest in extra-terrestrials was exclusively because they assumed they'd be of the courting variety, but instead he was interested in what was covering of the door the was unceremoniously ignored by crashing through the ceiling, what a decidedly not Sugiuran had created. He just wasn't the first one to comment about it.
"That's a Shitenoou Nanatsu no Enkan isn't it?"
So he did notice. It wasn't perfect however, far from it. The girl's Rho Aias didn't look quite right, but it did, very much so, look like the Ancient Sugiuran magic that he was familiar with. Her version however looked like a person trying to build a car with the only instructions being a vague spoken description of what a car was. He didn't doubt the execution would be similar, but it still looked sloppy. Normally, he'd assume that it was a fledgling Sugiuran magus trying something beyond her current ability...but that wasn't the case here. There should not have been another Sugiura here short of Izayoi and Kamui...and Izayoi could not perform Rho Aias and Kamui wouldn't have been here...nor would he was time with it, this meant that its creator was not one of his people and as much as he loathed Izayoi, he was once one of their gods. He would be able to recognize a Sugiura, this was not one. That made the creator both intriguing and dangerous...and probably the reason Kamui sent Izayoi here. He was hoping he'd attack and kill him...and he might have tried too, if another one hadn't shown up in the sector. Erebus did not know if this man was the creator of it or not...but from looking at him Erebus doubted it. He didn't seem the type to commit too much to arcane practices and even if he was, the creature was very much a demon. Something as elegant as a Rho Aias would escape their notice...they were somewhat brutish creatures, and Erebus said that fully knowing what he was currently riding in.
"We should play it as safe as possible, Matul Ispiritu to start here, make sure we have a defense if something goes wrong."
"Alright! Operation Swooping Snake, Stinging Strike!"
"Snakes don't swoop..."
It had already begun however as Izayoi's head craned slightly back and a sight that was quite difficult to see in the dark of space began. The "physical" body of Erebus that had been stretched out around them would shift and, as if being sucked in by a very wide range vacuum cleaner, tendrils of the darkest of darkness would be sucked in to Izayoi's gullet and quickly perforate through out his body. The process, despite the spectacle that couldn't really be seen, only took a fraction of a second. The boy had engaged his Matul Ispiritu and broke the beast Erebus down unto Eidos itself and the change in him was already prevalent. He seemed on edge, a persistent hair trigger away from raining down upon his enemies...and he was. He would swoop like a...snake...apparently, down toward the building below him, angling himself nose first toward the male demon standing in the middle of the city. He didn't sense any other life, most of them had evacuated already, that was good, he wouldn't need to suck at holding back.
Izayoi seemed to kick off of the Eidos beneath his feet and without so much as a moment to breathe, Izayoi shot down toward the demon as if he was fired out of the most ridiculous of space cannons, hurtling down toward the sector at a speed that would give even masters pause. Of course, his actual mobility when moving like this was more than a little suspect but that was hardly relevant. Izayoi broke through the roof, face first and seemingly without pause, as he hurtled toward Bid'Daum as psions readily gathered around him, preparing the boy's body to be used as an organic orbital bombardment, aimed right for the Demon's head. Izayoi's eyes didn't suit the situation he was in however, they seemed aware, zeroed in, prepared for how his opponent would react and, most importantly, excited to ram his face through Bid'daum's body.

Whoever first said "patience is a virtue" was obviously never tasked to stand guard on the surface of the moon where it was not only freezing, but also barren. Oh, and that's not all. The supposed "quiet" of space? Not here. Not now. Just the sounds of explosions, combat, and death from all over the Vanguard base. It took everything that Chiyoki had not to spring up and leave her post to go check on the others who had come here... or, more urgently, to make sure her dad was still okay...
The young Iramasha swore at herself internally as she forced herself to retain her absolute stillness, knowing that she had a job to do and she couldn't afford to leave the sector she was supposed to be defending to the hands of some nefarious being just because she was worried.. She was a leader now.. she had a standard to uphold.. shoes to fill.. she had to defend this sector.. no matter the cost..
So yes, she waited. She had to. What other option was there? But it wasn't for nearly as long as she thought she would have to. Things happened in a very rapid succession. First, Chiyoki sensed a foul sort of energy that seemed to come from above her, forcing herself to back into the corner even moreso. Just as she pressed her back to the wall, the ceiling broke open as a figure dropped like an anchor directly into the center of the room.
Chiyoki's eyes trailed to her Rho Aias still holding, noting that if it was compromised in any way that she would need to get to the entrance to cover it.. and quick.. Once that thought was complete, though, her eyes trailed back to the being in front of her who, gratefully, had landed not facing toward her. Chiyoki measured her breathing, watching as the being swept the dust cloud away with a swing of what was a needlessly large sword and probably compensation for something if her mom's advice was anything to go on.
Chiyoki shuddered as the being spoke. There was something about this one that unsettled her greatly. She couldn't put her finger on it but something about his energy made her skin crawl. She blinked rapidly as the realization hit her as to exactly why. She should've recognized it immediately, and she wanted to slap herself for the fact that she didn't, but this being.. his energy felt familiar because he was giving off the same tainted sort of energy as her mother...
This man, or whatever, was almost definitely a Rakshasa.. though of which origin, be it death or sin, she did not know quite yet.. although the comment about feasting wasn't exactly subtle, and her immediate assumption was a gluttanous sort of creature, she couldn't say anything for sure yet. One thing she was certain of, however, is that he was out of his goddamn mind if he thought she was gonna let him tear this place apart.
Stepping out of the corner, Chiyoki cleared her throat to announce herself, hoping that her lack of outward "presence" would be shocking enough to confuse him into not attacking right away, since a moment ago it wouldn't have seemed like anyone was in this room at all..
As soon as she had finished with her attention-grabbing vocalization, she spoke, asserting herself with a confidence in her voice that surprised even her. "No, actually, you will not be destroying this base." Chiyoki stated plainly, "Go back to Neoveta and tell her that this sector will not be hers. It is protected."
Despite the current pounding of her heart, Chiyoki would have to say that went very well, although she was already strategizing about what to do if he were to suddenly decide to use that bloody huge sword. It seemed, however, that fate had a funny way of throwing plans and strategies out the window with naught a rhyme or reason.. and never had there been a more glaring example of this than what happened next..
The energy had been far enough away that Chiyoki at first past dismissed it as someone fighting in another sector.. but as it grew closer, Chiyoki's senses went on red alert. Her attention was diverted from the rakshasa almost immediately by a second crash, this time by a boy with energy around him so volatile it was like a bomb in flight.. and said boy was aimed directly for the demon's head. Chiyoki didn't know what the effect of this attack was, but judging by the volume of spiritual output alone, it didn't look like just a physical ability, but one that could cause a serious amount of collateral.
She stood her ground as whether or not the attack would actually connect, Chiyoki would quickly flash backwards with a gust of wind as her form would flicker out of sight for a moment before reappearing about 50 yards off to the west side of the two, facing them as the result of the blonde one's assault showed, if nothing else, that he didn't like this guy either.
Chiyoki cupped her hands around her mouth, shouting loudly toward the two. "Hey! You! Blonde kid! I don't know who you are, but if you're at all interested in defending this Sector, he's definitely the one you wanna beat the shit out of!" And with that, Chiyoki decided it was time to stop fucking around and get to work. Chiyoki began to dash forward at blinding speeds, her form flashing in and out of sight as she rapidly closed the distance between herself and wherever it was Bid'daum had ended up after Izayoi's initial bombardment.
The Hybrid leader straightened her arms downward, her eyes flashing a crimson red for a moment as the red crystal hanging around her neck began to pulse like a heartbeat as Chiyoki quickly brought her Seishin Buki to the table, figuring it would be better to start off strong with an opponent such as this one.. Plus, with Izayoi's grand entrance creating such a spectacle, there really wasn't any more tension in the air as far as throwing the gauntlet down was concerned any more.
Chiyoki stretched her palms outward, energy swirling and coursing outward from them before taking physical shape in the form of the young girl's favorite weapons throughout all of her years of practice.. the twin swords of yin and yang, Kanshou and Bakuya.
Chiyoki gripped the scimitar-like blades of black and white tightly in her hands as she closed the last of the distance, naught but a second having passed since she first left her initial location. As she brought herself to bear before Bid'daum, her steps technique would carry her directly in front of his own person as she would land on the balls of her feet, beginning to spin herself like a top as she held her blades out at arms' length, the whirlwind of slashing aimed directly at Bid'daum's midsection.
In the event that Chiyoki was not interrupted during this action and either landed a hit or missed entirely, the girl would then flash out of sight once more, flashing back into view almost instantly on the other side of the demon from where she was previously, and about seven yards back from him.
From here, she would plant her foot in the ground before hurling the black sword in her right hand directly at the monster. If this thrown weapon hits Bid'daum, Chiyoki would then allow the sword to "fade" back into the Bridge from which she commanded it, before then allowing the blade to materialize once more in her hand, and waiting for the next move of either the demon, or the newcomer.
If this projectile blade would miss, flying past Bid'daum, it would then begin to spin in reverse, traveling back toward Bid'daum once more from the opposite direction as it saught to return to Chiyoki's hand. If it hits him on this pass back toward her, the same event in which it would re-materialize back in Chiyoki's possession would occur.
If, instead of the aforementioned events, the blade were to be knocked off of its course, it would simply sail harmlessly back to Chiyoki where she would catch it. In any event, Chiyoki would then take a ready stance with her left foot forward and her blades readied, waiting to see what effect, if any, her initial onslaught would have on her opponent.
