Seeking Guidance (Open)

After recovering from his fight with Landen, Steiner traveled back to Karakura city, and did what Steiner normally did. He trained and he trained hard, pushing himself, and struggling as hard as he possibly could to get stronger. The sudden realization that he had been fooling himself into the fact that he had gotten stronger, had been revealed during his fight with Landen. The horrible truth that he had been defeated handily and injured severely only for him to stagger his way back to the Iramasha settlement in need of help still stung the young man as he wandered himself through the downtown area. He still wasn't fully healed either, covered in bandages across most of his body, and his body aching with each step he took as further evidence of that.
Sure his healing abilities were working in overdrive, targeting the places that were still in ill condition, but it still wasn't enough to fully restore him to what he had once been. No, it was going to take time, and though Valus had told him to slow down and give it them time he needed, Steiner continued to train through the pain and injuries. His fight with Landen had taught him a lot, it had taught him that no matter how strong he thought he was there was a great deal he needed to learn, and there was very little Steiner could do on his own anymore to improve. And that was why he was here in the Downtown area. He had heard several times that there were people, people of power, and ability all around Karakura and his goal now was to find one of them. Someone who could give him the push he needed to find out his weaknesses and help him improve as a fighter.
He needed to improve, there were no doubts about that, and having reached the limit of what he would consider self-teaching could achieve, he now needed outside help. So, he had been looking. Traveling from one spot in the city to the next, trying to sense out, and feel out someone who had experience with the blade, someone who could help propel him a bit more into the realm of heroism that he wanted to achieve. His current level wasn't enough and he was going to be damned if he let himself continued to be pushed around like a punching bag for the rest of his life. What sort of hero would he be then? A crappy one, that is what he would be, and Steiner didn't want to be that sort of hero. He needed to be strong, not just for himself, but for the people he had put himself into a position to help. If he couldn't help them and he couldn't be the type of hero that they needed then everything he had done to this point would be absolutely pointless.
So he continued to stagger forth, walking around aimlessly looking for someone with some potential skill that could guide him even a tiny bit. No one here either. We should call it quits soon. Its getting pretty late in the evening and you still aren't fully recovered and need your sleep. Steiner ignored Valus, casually letting out a deep sigh as he continued his trek through the downtown area. It wasn't like he didn't hear Valus, he just didn't want to sit around, and mope about his loss in a bed in the middle of the forest. He wanted to do things and be proactive, but Valus wanted him to recover and work things out. He understood the need for that, but he also understood his position in the world now, and he didn't like where he was at the moment. The stark contrast in power between Landen and him were enough to make him have those all too familiar feelings of doubt in the pit of his stomach. And that feeling wasn't too pleasant of a feeling for the young man in the first place, so he continued his search, maybe hoping in some little part of himself that he would find someone capable enough to teach him anything.
He finally came upon a Ramen Shop that was out of the way and hidden somewhere in alleyway. He had no idea where he was now and taking a deep breath he decided he would go chill inside of the shop for a while. Resting up a bit and eating some ramen right now sounded good, after all he had been walking around all day long, and needed to rest his weary legs. So, entering the shop he would see a diverse group of individuals around himself, and for a moment they would stare at him. Steiner gave them a quaint wave and then said: "Yo." They began to grumble, but went about their business none the less, some eating, and others working. Smooth, Steiner...really smooth. Steiner let out a sigh and made his way to a table, taking a seat, and waiting on someone to come by and take his order. To be honest he was pretty hungry and his stomach growling was evident of that. He wondered if anyone knew somebody who could train him here, he decided he would ask the waitress when she showed up.

"This place is named, Raw-men?", as Steiner looked around he began to realize his mistake for having walked into this place in the first place. The majority of the customers were male or appeared to be male, some of them were close to one another, and others were simply oogling each other from across the shop's rustic interior. Steiner took a big gulp, wincing in pain as he did so, and reaching down instinctively to feel his ribs. " Can't believe I didn't notice that before...", Steiner said as he scratched his head in confusion. On the inside, Valus chuckled as he was enjoying watching his young host squirm in a sticky situation such as this, and wondered just how long it would be for his partner to get the hell out of dodge and find another establishment to eat at. Steiner's stomach however would let out a thunderous groan, the type of groan that could only mean one thing, and one thing only. He was hungry and though he was not into this sort of thing, the thought of a steaming bowl of ramen was definitely appealing to the young man.
"One second, let me check the menu, and I will get right back to you.", Steiner said, ignoring his surroundings, and choosing to focus on the possible food that he was about to consume. He opened up the menu and began to look over the prices, realizing that those prices were a great deal higher than he had anticipated. His wallet was almost empty and the remnants of the money he had left were going to buy training equipment and food for the rest of the week. However, Steiner's stomach would not be denied by petty logic, and the simple needs to survive another week. No, Steiner needed noodles, and meat....alright that came out wrong, but simply put he needed food. He reached into his back pocket, grabbing a barely held together old wallet, and looked inside, counting his yen much like a child who had just opened their piggy bank for the first time.
He stopped counting as she brought up the healing powers of the mystical ramen that was on the expensive menu. For a moment, Steiner began to think about if it would be worth investing in, but after some prodding from Valus he realized that the girl was trying to sell him it. There was no way that an expensive meal was going to beat the medical herbs and salves he was using or the powers he was using to heal himself. It was an interesting thought that the food could restore his health, but he wasn't dumb enough to fall for that. "How much will this get me?", Steiner asked as he dropped one of his hands on the table, releasing what was left of his savings on to the table. "Its not much, but it should still be able to cover a hot meal, right?", Steiner asked as he smiled at his waitress. He was now beginning to examine her, she was far too young to be working here, but he admired the fact that she was starting early in terms of picking out a career. Though he doubted this was her first choice of career, he was none the less admiring her choice to start working at such a young age. Illegal or otherwise.
"Oh, but before you answer that...do you happen to know anyone that happens to have some skill with a blade...no not that blade, but actual swords.", as Steiner said that he would draw Excalibur partially out of its' scabbard to show the waitress. "I'm looking for someone to help me improve as a swordsman, I don't have much money right now, but I will do anything to get better.", Steiner said as he put the sword away, hiding it underneath his coat to not draw too much attention to him. He leaned back in his seat, trying his best to get comfortable regardless of how injured or sore he was. He looked directly into the eyes of the young waitress, trying to convey in whatever matter he possibly could that he was desperate for training, and guidance. If she would answer that she didn't know anyone he would probably feel dejected and continue his mission looking for a trainer elsewhere.

It was weird talking about prosperous this business venture in this specific location would be with a waitress, but Steiner none the less nodded his head in agreement. Businesses like this were all about location and earning money from these specific niche shops was hard enough due to the nature of the niche that it was seemingly trying to fulfill. None the less, it took balls to open a store in a place like this, and hope it attracted a crowd, and to be honest it did attract a few people. At least that is the way that it did look at that specific moment, but more than likely this what they would consider a "peak" hour, and that was a bit depressing. Another growl from his stomach would cause an instinctual reaction of Steiner itching the top of his head in embarrassment. He was starving, having not ate anything this morning, and now sitting here in the Raw-Men shop, he definitely couldn't help, but feel the residual effects of missing the most important meal of the day.
To be honest as he lay out his money for the waitress, he could feel her judging him, and to be honest, though he felt the judgement he accepted it. He was poor and hadn't had the best of luck in finding a location that was willing to keep him on with the type of schedule he was hoping to work. He wanted to be a hero and that meant that he would need to take off at a moment's notice to take on the threats that were facing the world. As such that also meant that his schedule would have to be negotiable and that in itself was the problem. Most places out there were looking for people who were more reliable and capable of working pretty much any hour that they wanted, that just wasn't Steiner. With his training regiment and his constant need to improve himself he just couldn't find a way to be punctual or to quite honestly show up to certain shifts where he was needed.
It wasn't due to the fact that he was lazy, but rather that he just couldn't make it with the amount of pressure that Valus put him under to keep himself in peak physical condition. He groaned, placing a hand on forehead as he heard her discuss the quality of the meal he was about to order, and realizing that it probably wouldn't be enough to fill the gaping void known as his stomach. Steiner was sort of a glutton ever since he drew the sword from the stone in Europe, he believed it was due to the duality of his spirit, and the fact that he had another being inside of him who also had energy that needed to be restored. That, however, was nothing more than a theory that he hadn't quite got around to asking Valus about. It wasn't like spirits didn't eat, so maybe it was possible that the reason that Steiner usually always felt hungry was because Valus too needed a way to recharge.
"I don't think avoiding the sale's tax would be right, you guys need the money more than I do.", Steiner whispered under his breath. At times he hated having to be the nice guy, but he understood that in a world full of demons and insane monstrosities that there also had to be voices of reason. Steiner wanted to be that voice and as such that also meant that he had to obey the common laws, even the ones that would cost him a better meal, and more than probably a quicker recovery. He felt himself perk up, however, as he heard about her knowledge of people who could possibly train him in the way of the blade. It brought a smile to his face and lightened the dire mood he was currently in by bringing him some glimmer of hope at the end of the long dark tunnel he had been walking in. As he listened, keeping his eyes on the waitress, and paying attention to her words to hear what information she had to offer him, that was when something weird and completely unbelievable happened.
Where there was once a person, there was now, no one. Cut off in mid-sentence and gone from view entirely, the waitress was no where to be seen. For a moment, Steiner reached out his senses to the surrounding area, it wasn't such a wide area he could cover with his novice abilities, but it would be enough to pick up something odd if it were out of place in the surrounding areas of the shop. Yet, to his astonishment, there was nothing. Where there had once been a person, with no true spiritual power to speak of, there was now just empty space, and confusion. For a moment, Steiner's concern grew, and caused him to stand up from his table. He scanned using his vision, thinking that maybe she had been whisked away, or possibly that she had powers, but was quite good at hiding them. Nothing was surprising him anymore in terms of power in the new world he was now walking, but none the less the safety of the waitress was his top priority.
She had been diligent and had offered to help him regardless of the person he was and had even gone out of her way to help him find a teacher for his swordsmanship skills. Yet, there was more to it than that, this was a person who he discerned as being innocent, though he didn't really know her true intentions, and things of that nature, he was still concerned for her well being. As such, Steiner began to frantically search the room with his eyes, drawing a few glares from several other occupants who were surprised, but none the less were regulars and had apparently seen things like this before. Yet, for a new guy like him, this was odd, and bewildering and above all frightening. After about thirty seconds of looking around and worrying, Steiner was about to leave his table, and begin the search for the missing waitress when all of a sudden a new girl appeared in the place where the waitress had once stood.
No, this girl was the same girl in different clothes, and from the pained look upon her face he could only deduce that she was in severe pain. The rips in her clothing dyed red and scars were glowing in different locations on her skin in an unknown color to the young man. Those scars took shapes of things he had never seen before, but Steiner could understand that the fact they were glowing, and that she was in pain meant that these particular scars were not a good thing. As she came face to face with him, he could see the pain in her eyes, among many other emotions. Yet, even more so he felt an air of familiarity, as if they had met before, and that confused Steiner because he knew that he couldn't have possibly met her before this very moment. He had just met her in fact so that feeling of familiarity was confusing to him, causing him to furrow his own brow in thought, but the petty concerns of making sense of those feelings were completely washed away when he heard her speak.
"How do you know...my name...?", he uttered as his eyes went wide with a bit of surprise and then was quickly replaced by concern. It didn't matter that she knew his name, all that mattered was that she was safe, a little worse for the wear, but safe. "Are you alright?", Steiner said as he reached out to her and tried his best to give her once over seeing if there was anything that he could possibly due to help her lessen the pain she was in. Don't even think of healing her, Steiner. You are in no condition to be using your powers like that right now. Besides...something is fishy about this girl. If she is in pain, I will help her in whatever way I possibly can. It is a matter of principle, fishy or not. Valus groaned and then went back to his part of the mind, deciding it better to allow this plan to blow up in his face than to be a part of it. Steiner continued to do his examination and began to speak in relief: "I was worried when you just up and disappeared, does that happen often?"

As she mumbled something about the Keter particles, something he had never heard of before, the concern did not leave his eyes, and neither did the rounds of confusion passing through his mind. What had happened to her, why was she in such a sorry state, and how did she know his name? The thoughts continued to cycle and as she finished mumbling about things her gaze shifted to meet his eyes before she nodded her head, confirming her safety. Steiner couldn't help, but still feel concerned. She had just disappeared entirely from his vision and senses, that wasn't a normal occurrence, and for someone with absolutely zero spiritual power, his worry was only escalated by the thought itself. It was in his nature to care for people and look out for people, as such seeing her in the state she was in was enough to make his own heart wretch. He could see she was in pain or at least something that looked like pain and he wanted to help her as much as he could.
She said something about not worrying about it right now, which did nothing, but add more questions to a growing list of queries inside of his own mind. He watched as she pushed herself away from him and picked herself up, standing up straight and stiff. "You shouldn't be trying to do this on your own, especially if you are hurting.", Steiner said as he went to move closer to at least give her someone to lean on if another fit of pain would come, he would be there to make sure she didn't fall down. But as he went to draw closer, he noticed that the glow from her scars were fading, and once again more questions flooded into the curious young man's mind. Exactly what were those scars from? They took the shape of foreign symbols and confusing glyphs that he had never really seen before, it was intrigued him due to his background in Ancient Mythology and History.
As he wracked his brain for similarities in symbols and glyphs he knew from his time reading books on the subject of Mythology, she would speak again, and Steiner would snap out of his train of thought. He listened closely, piecing together the information she was giving him, and doing his best to pay the level of attention required to understand the situation. So, this happened a lot? The fact that she could do this meant that perhaps she had powers that he couldn't fully understand, and that really didn't surprise him so much. After all he had only just started to take the steps to becoming a hero and there were a lot of powers out there that he didn't yet see, this must be one of them. Yet, it also made no sense that she herself didn't actually have an ounce of spiritual power, so maybe this power wasn't spiritual in a sense of the word, but rather an artificial power.
She asked him to follow her, which generated a few more glances from customers who had yet to stare at the scene that was happening in front of their eyes. Steiner looked at them, glaring daggers into them to stop staring at them, and though he didn't look very intimidating they would hurriedly go back to eating their food, choosing to not instigate any conflict instead. She began to make unsteady steps away from him, her face solemn, and grim as she did so, Steiner followed her closely. Making sure to pay close attention to the girl in front of him as if she fell, he would be there to catch her, and make sure she didn't hurt herself further. She looked back at him for a second, probably wondering if he would follow her, and he gave her a smile and a quaint wave to show he was there for her if she needed him.
They continued to walk until they found an empty spot on the wall, the girl would sit down there, and she would also try to calm her ragged breath. Steiner would calmly stare at her, assessing the situation to see if there was anything he could do to make things easier for her, and as he felt a cold breeze of wind blow by he knew she must be cold with her clothes looking like that. He took off his coat and handed her it, before speaking up in concern: "Before we talk, its cold out here, and the way you are dressed you aren't going to be very warm. Take my coat, it may not look like much, but it should keep you warm." She then asked him a question as he reached out to hand her his coat and for a few moments Steiner wondered why she needed to know information about what had just occurred only moments ago. For a bit, Steiner just stared at her as he recollected the past few events so that he could share some information with her.
"Well, I have been looking for someone to teach me swordsmanship down here in the Downtown area as I heard there might be some really skilled individuals down here. Then I got pretty hungry because I had been searching all day for that someone to teach me, so I slipped into this shop...The Raw-Men.", Steiner shook his head and let out a chuckle as he remembered the name of the store. "As I came in, you were my waitress and as most waitresses did you offered to get me some food for my money. You offered to give me the food without sales tax and I declined, stating it would be more money for the store and its employees.", Steiner said with a smile on his face and then itched his head with his free hand as he put himself deeper into thought.
"Oh, yeah! I told you about how I was looking for someone to train me in the arts of the blade and you were about to give me an answer and then you disappeared! I stood up because I was concerned, scanning the room, and trying to feel out for you in the surrounding area, but I didn't find anything. That's when you just reappeared again, looking really different, and covered in scars. You gave me a heart attack! I have to ask you a question though...are you sure you are alright? I mean I can lessen some of the pain you have, though some individuals wouldn't like it if I strained myself while I'm still hurt.", Steiner poked the bear that was Valus inside of his soul, who chose to ignore his jabs, and just continue to focus on his own devices. "I just couldn't bare it if you were hurt in some way and I didn't do anything to help.", he said as he kept his hand out with his coat in it for her to take.

The more time she spent in this event on the timeline, the further her memories became muddled; at the same time, the emotions transferred grew stronger. The main reason she looked back to make sure Steiner was following only once, was that every glance felt like something pricked at her chest for whatever reason, akin to the feeling of failing in your responsibilities. So when the brunette gave her his coat, the nostalgic scent and warmth he gave only prodded all the more. In response, Yuel buried her face under the coat as well to hide the water in her eyes, and responded with a muffled voice.
"Nn.. Thank you.."
It was difficult to voice out even that, as the catch in her throat wouldn't fully recede. But now was not the time to get emotional. Yuel asked Steiner about the events that took place prior to reconfirm herself, and at just what point in time she was sent back. The painful sadness in her chest gave pressure to her lungs, and her best efforts were put into breathing calmly, so as to not make Stein worry further. Yet the attempt only drew Yuel's attention to the fact that he was worried, and for certain this must have been the first time they met based on the description he gave of the past... Haha... He doesn't even know me yet, and already he's this kind... Rather, who is he..?
For someone like Yuel, most seconds seemed like minutes, but the short time Steiner spoke instead felt like a lifetime. The sense of longing and regret felt at first only resurfaced. Though the mention of the restaurants name broke her silence and tears under the coat, a slight giggle voicing out, the rest of the shaking wasn't out of humour or coldness. At this point, what Yuel was feeling was fear.
The familiarity she felt proved that at the least, Stein was a cherished friend some time in one of her timelines, and conversely, the regret and pain upon seeing him alluded to a painful moment. It doesn't matter... The gods owed me something all this time, and these cursed Keter Particles were their final prank. Now, I have control of the circumstances!
By the time Steiner was done talking, Yuel resolved herself and stood up after wiping her tears away. Even in inconvenience, Yuel thought outside the box. As opposed to just turning away to make sure he didn't see her puffed eyes, the girl used her sword, cut off a strip from her skirt, and blindfolded herself. To prevent whatever is going to happen, I'll take responsibility from the beginning! With her eyes covered, Yuel turned to Stein and returned the coat.
"You were asking for a someone to teach you the blade, right?... Then follow me."
The stereotype when one cuts off a sense is to use their other senses to maneuver; as a matter of course, the physically inexcellent Yuel used alternative methods. Sections of the scars on her body once more glowed that indistinguishable colour once more. Those with adequate spiritual sense could detect the absorption of latent spiritual particles in the air converging on her glowing scars, akin to what a quincy did to execute their skills.
"Renkinjutsu Ransora."
Within seconds, the air directly around Yuel dispersed, as if she had a personal vacuum bubble. Quickly after, the air returned to form around her. To others, this small usage of Ransora served only as a brief gust of wind in 360 degrees. To Yuel, this was the ultimate manner of accentuating her talents in spatial reasoning. Many spiritual beings exuded their energy, letting them sense others and know of their surroundings, amongst many methods. Yuel simply replicated the function for the first time on the spot after giving the mechanics behind spiritual sense a bit of thought.
As visually adept as ever, that one gust of wind, and return gave a good sense of the distance of the surroundings from herself, depending on the speed of the returning air and the duration of their return. If anything, this application of Ransora was not so dissimilar from echo-location. Through her spatial reasoning, Yuel discerned the surroundings, and from there moved onward without needing to remove her blindfold. While wearing it primarily functioned as a way to hide her eyes' reddening and puffiness, at the same time it was a matter of training herself. The painful moments felt throughout her life were generally a result of her own naive mistakes, hence now owning a mechanical left arm and mechanical right leg.
This time around, Yuel had a feeling that the emotional pain and sense of loss when looking at Stein found origin in battle; thus, she decided to be the one to give Stein the swordsmanship mentoring he desired. Yet, him being strong wasn't the only way to go about preventing disaster--there was also the girl herself to grow stronger. Of course, as always the sense of necessity in strengthening herself was fairly dull, as even after all the events that had transpired, she never felt an explicit desire to grow stronger. To stand aside Azure? Or find solutions to situations such as the ordeal with James, thereby avoiding a major lot of her later experiences? They inherently related themselves to the proportions of her strength, but alternative means were always easier.
That being said, as always her seriousness in self-training was as per the usual, not so serious. Only in situations like now, where the opportunity to give herself a bit of training through studying the surroundings and her own movements corresponding to training another person was convenient.
This time around Yuel didn't bother to turn around to make sure the man was following her. Though her surface-conscience may deny it, deep down there was still a major sense of fear. Taking on the task was at the same time placing the responsibility of making sure Steiner was appropriately strong enough to face whatever was to happen in the future--and to that extent, simply the thought of trying to train herself alongside teaching him swordplay was more than enough to recognise just how much guidance she herself needed to even begin approaching an appropriate level of mentoring.
That alone wouldn't degrade the resolve she had. Yuel still walked forth, occasionally re-issuing a Ransora to reassess the surroundings as she moved forward and weaved through the streets and alleyways. The area she stopped at seemed identical to the alleyway they were in before reaching Raw Men. To Yuel who had a decent sense of spatial reasoning, on top of being familiar enough with the streets of Downtown Karakura to maneuver through the district, this location was practically on a different side of town. To those not so familiar, her fluid movements were like walking through a maze you've already gone through.
"This is it. Alleyways: one of the optimal places to practice a fighting style that requires space to move around... probably. Something about limitations offering more skill at the end of the day... So, are you ready?"

He couldn't gauge the ladies emotions at that moment, but his emotions to take care of her were very much a real thing to him. It had only been moments ago that she had faded from this world and disappeared all together from his senses, something that didn't make much sense to him in the first place. Having returned in pain with weird scars across her body, Steiner's mind had instantly jumped to the conclusion that she needed his help in some way shape, or form. Hence, why he had followed her out here to insure that she was at least alright, but now here he stood handing over one of his most cherished possesions to someone he barely knew. Yet, it didn't feel odd to be helping someone, in fact he felt rather happy to be doing at least this much, after all he hadn't really done anything too truly heroic since obtaining this powers beside getting his ass kicked, and this good deed felt like it cleared his consciousness of his failures at the least. "You're most welcome...you know, I never did ask your name in the first place. I guess that is kind of rude of me?", he said as he let out a nervous chuckle, after all how could he have possibly forgotten to ask for her name?
"I'm Steiner by the way, but you seem to already know that...how you know that is a completely other question, but I will not pry too much into it.", Steiner said after he was done laughing to himself stupidly. That is when Yuel stood up from where she had been seated before. Steiner wondered if she was offended by how rude he had been to not even ask her name, it wouldn't be the first time that he had offended somebody, afterall he had made a certain demon child angry for not dying at the hands of a Hollowfied Shinigami. Just remembering that moment made him shiver in remembrance of not being able to actually stand toe to toe with a behemoth like that brought quite the memories of pain to the young swordsman's mind. Yet, that was neither here nor there, and instead of worrying about that at the current moment he held out his arm just in case she needed something or someone to lean on to steady herself. "I won't repeat myself...if you are in pain you shouldn't be moving like you are.", as Steiner finished his sentence he listened to what Yuel had to say.
After she had finished her proposition to him, he couldn't help, but spot her reddened eyes that were slightly damp. Had she been crying? Maybe the pain had been that severe for her? He was worried about her condition, but she seemed to be shaking off the pain quite easily now and seemed steady enough on her own. He pulled his arm back as he pondered her proposition with deep thought. Was this waitress really a swordsman and was he really willing to be taught by someone who he barely knew? He had questions about her that couldn't be asked just up front, like why she had ripped off a piece of her skirt to cover her eyes, but yet he felt oddly calm around her. Like maybe he knew her from somewhere, but how could that be? She was someone that he had just met. Maybe it was just that he didn't feel so awkward around her and that his natural defenses were being pried open by her need for his assistance. "Are you sure you should be training anyone? You were just hurting and now you are bli..." Steiner would not finish his sentence as some of the scarring she had began to light up. One of Steiner's eyes faded to purple, Valus was on high alert at that moment, but Steiner pushed him back down. We have no clue what she is doing, Stein. You would be nuts to not have me help you out right now in at least finding out what she is doing.
Cool your jets. I don't want to scare her...I'm intrigued by what she is doing just as much as you are, but I trust her. Valus let out the equivalent of a human "hmph", which felt like a quick summer breeze, and Steiner smiled loosely as he listened to the words she said. Whatever she had just done had just sent out a burst of air around her, sending cold air directly at Steiner which caused him to cover his face with his arm and shiver a bit, when he finally looked at her, it was if she had a bubble of personal space around her. Steiner glanced at her in confusion. Earlier he had judged her as being a powerless human, much like he had been before, but now he had even more questions to ask. Yet, he would hold on to those questions as right now he wondered what sort of training she could possibly yield for a guy like him. He was vastly curious as to what she could teach him and in that moment she began to run off on her own. Steiner was alarmed by this as he had no idea if the "blind" girl had any idea where she was going.
His eyes widened in shock as she adeptly maneuvered her way around the area with ease, it was if she could actually see where she was going, and that confounded him. "There are things that I still don't understand, I guess...", he said to himself as he gave chase to the young lady as she made her way through what some would assume was a maze of back alleys and cramped streets. Steiner had trouble keeping up with the girl, he wasn't all back to one hundred percent yet, and his body was not in the best shape after getting his ass handed to him by the hollowfied Laden. After nearly crashing into three street vendors and a few assholes driving their cars way too fast to be legally considered safe, Steiner managed to catch up to her. He was out of breath when she began to speak again about the training they were about to undergo.
In that moment Steiner looked down at himself, covered in a bit of cold sweat, and the bandage wrapped around his chest stained a bit crimson from reopening wounds. Was he in any condition to match blades with anyone at this point? Steiner shook his head, catching his breath, and refusing to back down just because of his physical state. Fighting was more than just physical, it was spiritual as well. If you didn't have the fighting spirit to go head to head with a foe, then there was no point in even lifting your blade to fight in the first place. Steiner wouldn't allow the girl to be the only one to show off and in that moment pulled out his sword from the scabbard, spinning it a bit, and showing off his own skills. "I'm not in tip-top shape for physical exertion, but...no risk, no reward, right?", Steiner said with a confident grin on his face as he took his stance.
He readied himself for whatever the girl had in store for him, though with how many questions that he had it was very clear he was uncertain of how this young lady would assault him. She had just blindly ran through what could have been a maze and that showed not only great understanding of the area, but also showed she was much more than what he had originally assumed. She was more than competent enough to train him, but more than that she also had abilities that weren't powers, but something else entirely. That meant that she had something he couldn't easily counter with his own powers, but even more so in this state, he doubted he could even transform or use his own powers properly. Yet, he would try to do so, and he would do everything in his power to harness his energy even in this state. Inside his anima stone glinted and with that glint, Steiner felt a bit of its' energy infuse him as he readied himself for battle against the mysterious female fighter. "Just because I am hurt doesn't mean to go easy on me, alright? Give me your all."
