Name: Root Of Aegis

Appearance: The Root Of Aegis is a rather dark and dull colored shield. The crystals used for its creation range in color from a dim shade of silver, to hues of blackened gold along the edges. The reason for this gloomy color is because it takes the disciplined psyche of Chikara and applies it in the form of a beaten shield. To become disciplined, reformed and brutal is to endure harsh and rigid slashes to your inner-self. So, in turn, his gem reflected that battered change in the form of this ashen shield. As, much like Chikara, this shield will withstand harsh abuse in the sake of protective change against forces whom may wish ill-will against it and those it tries to protect.
Background Info: Following a request from a fellow knight of justice, Cirno Iramasha decided to embark upon the task of creating a suitable shield for his persona. Therefore, she forged The Root Of Aegis to suit this case. As, with his desire to use it to protect, Cirno aptly named this gem that title because it reflects to the root of his ambition to defend and save others. Henceforth, this shield is connected to him on a spiritual and mental level in order to bring the most of its ethereal effects out.
Effects: The effects that Root Of Aegis induces is stated as below:

The Wall Of Preservation: The Wall Of Preservation is The Root Of Aegis lone special ability. It is only made achievable if there is a goal, motivation or need for Chikara to shield and protect others. Once these qualifications have been checked off, he will receive a sixth sense of sorts to understand that he is allowed to summon and use this tool. After that internal instinct passes, The Root Of Aegis will emerge from the depths of his soul and form at his side.

Now, proceeding the summoning of this tool will cause its effects to come to the forefront of battle. However, before that can occur, a chunk of Chikara's mental energy will be used as a sacrifice to fuel the shields effects. This is because most of the gems that Cirno creates siphon energy from the mind in order to go beyond what the hosts ability can induce on its own. And, instead, tests the limits of their determination and drive to achieve their inner desires.

Ergo, if his resolve is pure and selfless, then the shield will reach the utmost of its potential. If it is out of self-interest and his own aspirations? Then it will work at half power at best. Now, having said that, he will notice that his mental energy will have slowly been seeping out of him. And that is due to the fact that The Wall Of Preservation would have gone into effect at this time.

What this ability does is that it produces an invisible shield that takes the form of a cube in an area of effect that is comparable to half a city block. Once this has transpired, opponents will often find themselves having their attacks ceased by this dome. This is because it blocks out attacks that are filled with malice and intent to disrupt the innocent that Chikara is trying to protect.

This works by tamping into the holy aspects of Chikara's inner eagerness to become holy and uses that as a means of filtering through the power of will acting as a medium for this effect. With his mental energy being used as fuel, together with a tad bit of his physical energy and spiritual energy, he is then able to create an area of safety for those he has sworn to protect.

Now, this isn't to say the barrier is absolute. Those with abnormal wills can attempt to defile and break the dome, but it won't exactly be easy; even for those of 0 tier. This is because the quality of craftsmanship Cirno forged this gem with acts as a highly potent source of mystic durability and can endure the rigid assaults that higher opponents can dish out. And, provided the will of Chikara is pure, the amount of pure desire that is fueled into the gem can sustain its effects.

But, that does not mean it will last forever. It has a maximum duration of two post before it must be deactivated. Along with that, if it breaks, it has a two post cooldown before it can be used again. Additionally, rapid fire attacks may be more effective on it as it can withstand major assaults against it, but multiple strikes are more prone to poking holes within it and causing it to collapse. Something akin to numerous bala strikes, for example, may be more effective due to the sheer quantity of them.

And, lastly, he cannot attack while within this protective cube. It is possible to move, run and fly within it; but he cannot attack until it is deactivated because it locks both himself and those within it away from the world in order to induce its effects.
