Artist: Mogeko Castle - Song: MaouDamashii Town 10 - Word Count: 349

Zero did a lot of things out of boredom, but looking for an old house out in Karakura Forest probably topped them all - with the exception of joining a war, of course. It was the middle of a chilly afternoon when the brunette descended to the middle of the forest via the grey, cloudy skies above. It had been raining on and off throughout the day and the forest carried the smell most candle companies claim to have extracted and placed into one of their candles. November Rain was a popular scent within her family and the smell of the forest was akin to that more than any other smell she could think of.

She inhaled sharply as she stretched out her arms, enjoying the sound of birds chirping and the scurrying woodland creatures for a brief moment. The animals of the forest had the same idea as the brunette which was to enjoy her time out before water penetrated the canopy. Of course, with her being fully capable of forming a barrier by heating up the air around her to form a bubble or creating a wind barrier, she wouldn’t be forced to find shelter. Then again, the deer wouldn’t need to flee since the water would slid of their coat along with any other animal with waterproof fur so she would have some company whilst she aimlessly roamed the forest.

Zero adjusted her scarf after she was done stretching and she began walking once that was done, a large grin glued to her face. It was time to search for the house that she heard so much about. She knew of the house’s general location, but not where it was exactly, but that only provided more fun for her. It took a good thirty minutes, maybe longer, to locate the house and old was an understatement. She scoped out the place first, checking for signs of life before heading for the front door. Though she thought the place abandoned, she decided to knock on the door before barging in. It was the polite thing to do.

Artist: Король и Шут - Song: Воспоминания О Былой Любви - Word Count: 774

Barren. That's what this place was. Forgotten memories under the sham of rust, cobwebs and ruin. Times that were once happy had been reduced to decay and distant thought. Yet, it was a sacred and pure space because of those precious bonds of the past. It is why the owner of this land dared not tamper with it's decrepit state. To do so would be to open the door to that time which has not arrived; and may never arrive. For, in order to have this home restored and made whole, a family would be needed -- and that family was long since dead and gone.

Therefore -- it would sully their memory to do anything to this place. And, it would hurt the master of this land to dare make such an alteration. Even if there were parts of himself that wished to move on -- he could not. No matter if he desired a new family -- this family was what he held most close to his heart. A warm wife, two loving children and an endless supply of family friends that all faded, dwindled and reduced itself to almost none.

If it weren't the flame of his sisters spirit coming back to his life, perhaps he may not even entertain the idea of coming here to begin with. Yet, from her nudge did he find himself in Karakura once again resting in the place that was once his eternal home. It hurt to be here, but it was a beautiful pain. Masochistic, yet so melancholy and glum. It felt good to be in pain, and it felt so awful to be in such anguish.

Tick, tock. Tick, tock. The emotional gears within could not decide where to go on it's unsteady pattern as a man with golden hair stayed in the dark of an upstairs bedroom. Photos of happier times labeled the room; still not touched by the decay of nature, if only through his soul's spiritual will hindering the progression of rot from ever stepping foot into this room both he and his beloved once owned and cherished.

Yet, it seemed the hands of the external world were not quite done with this massive hulking figure of a man. For, as he began to drift his eyes and embrace the warmth of a fox-tailed woman within his delirious half dream state, the banging sound of a knock against the door opened his single gold eye back to the material world.

Tch.

Visitors? In a place like this? What kind of a fool would arrive to this mountain top?

With a gruff sigh, this shark-toothed individual would rub his unkempt and dirty blonde hair until it fell to the tips of his upper back. Bare as the day he was born, there was n o point in scaring someone half to death with his exposed and scared body. Therefore, pants, black pants, were needed. Oh -- and boxers before that. No need to go commando, eh?

In all his seven foot eleven might, this giant would then begin to stomp his way down the hallways of the barren house, push pass the silence and claw down to the door in order to open the latch and find -- a small girl.

...

...

...Toki?

Squinting his eye, The Shark Beast would soon remember this child as one of his new subordinates from his branch of The Vanguard that he was now newly commanding. There was a slight flick of flame within the male's head that conjured up memories of them relaxing with one another. Mostly of him feeling a sense of desire to find some sort of family in the division of this organzation Priscilla lead. Being alone for so long as beginning to grow dull, so there was no point in rotting out his heart and soul in the frigid lands of Russia. It was time to branch out and find something to hold on to.

So, with a single motion, he'd move his hand down and pat the girl's head.

"Eh, what brings a runt like you out here? It's quite dangerous in these forest. But I take it you aren't the type to care about that sort of thing, eh? Of course not. If you belong in my squad, you better not...."

With a slight grin he'd then look down and see what kind of response the young girl would give before sitting down on his porch and nudging his head back at the door:

"Though, I take it you here for the grand tour of this place?"

Tall. That was the first thought that passed through the mind of Zero. She had thought this place abandoned, but the sight of the man before her told the teen otherwise. She blinked several times just to make sure her mind hadn’t conjured up a random figure to keep her company as she explored the head, but he did not disappear from her sight. A pat on the head and she was one hundred percent sure the giant before her was real. Now, as to rather or not he lived here and not just there to also explore the place was an entirely different question, but she would assume that he did in fact call the place home.

“Hehe. Sorry. I didn’t know anyone lived here.”

She smiled, sheepishly, as she scratched the corner of her mouth, a nervous, but soft chuckle escaping pass her lips. Her plans of turning the place into her personal hotspot would have to be thrown out the window since someone did own the place and she doubt he would give it up just because she asked really, really nicely. Yet, her plan to explore the house would remain in place seeing how the giant pretty much offered to give her a tour. With a strong desire to see the place, there was simply no way she would be turning down that offer in favour of finding something else to do. Besides, it wasn’t everyday that a playmate landed right in her lap and she wouldn’t want to make whatever deity in charge of her fun angry. To top it off, the two were on the same squad, according to him, and so this would be a perfect opportunity to get to know him.

So, she nodded her head vigorously before remembering what little manners she possessed. She stuck her right hand out towards the man, ready to give the man a firm shake either before, during, or after her chirpy introduction.

“Zero! And what’s ya name, mister?”

A pointless question for somebody like Zero to ask since she would be calling the giant ‘mister’ for the rest of his life, but a polite one nonetheless. She would adjust her scarf then interlock her fingers behind her back the moment her hand was released and in the case he never shook it, right after she fired off the first question. Of course, she would follow the mister into his abode once the tour started with a whole list of questions she had every intentions of firing off in rapid succession.

Artist: Entering - Song: You - Word Count: 970
Confusion.

That was the first thought that came across the mind of Radioactive as he gazed his golden eye into the amber stare of Toki. There was a sense of surrealism that the hulking figure of The Nuclear Juggernaut sensed when observing her. Hence, he'd stand up and give another hard pat on the head to double confirm he was indeed real. When doing so, he'd let off a hard chuckle at her expense and pop off a cheesy shark-toothed grin in return.

"Ha, I don't blame ya, runt. The outside is bruised and damaged, but the inside is my kingdom."

Chuckles coming to an end, the face of the massive man turned somber for a moment when pausing to reflect what he had been doing alone in that house up until that moment. Taking a glance to the window, if he didn't know any better, the imagery of a woman with apricot hair, slender waist and nine carrot colored tails was seen waving at them both with a smile across her face.

...

He wouldn't react to it, but he knew it wasn't real. Best keep with the course of conversation and entertain the youth before him.

"Radioactive. 'Course it ain't my birth given name, but I hardly know ya enough to divulge that, runt."

While ruffling up her hair against his hand, there was a tone of jest and merry in his voice when uttering that; but there would have to be a deeper bound made to penetrate that close into his identity past the exterior of the weapon his body mirrored.

Nonetheless, the sensation of softness was the first thing that took him off that pattern of thought when the girl grasped him in a handshake. Usually, he had only known the gruff and rigid touch of another warriors hardened and brazen fist held against the palm of his scarred and battered palms. Yet, when touching Toki's gentle hand, there was a slight sense of surprise in feeling that physical response once more. It meant that he truly was back into the lands of civilization when touch did not equate to savagery.

All of that time spent brawling against anything that moved in lands quite bitter and cold takes a toll on a man. So, there would only be a minor sense of awe in his eyes before he gave a firm handshake back in return; followed with a hardy laugh.

"You must be excited, eh Runt? Why not. Let's go."

Turning his body back towards the sight of a beaten and tattered wooden door, Radioactive turned the golden handle leading into the darken and sullen room. This, in turn, would have the "Mister" and the "Runt" embark on the exploration of his cherished home. The first thing she would find is sunlight and darkness piercing into what seemed to be a living room. There were many dust pictures on the world; some of family, others of a happy couple and a few friends of said family from the looks of it.

Much of the floor seemed dirty; as if it hadn't been cleaned in decades or so. Dust coated the windows, furutine and walls like a plague. While, in the center of the room, there appeared to be a leather black couch that looked as if it was recently dusted off; meaning it was undoubtedly one of Radioactive's resting spots. The walls were a dull shade of white, while the bottom of the room was covered in rotted wood.

All in all, it was a faded room and looked as if it had seen better days.

Because -- of course -- it's owner had clearly seen better days.

One glance at the scars on his body would indicate that much.

So, with another chuckle from his mouth, Radioactive pointed towards the living room and slammed himself against the couch with a loud thud.

"And this is my noble estate!"

There was large dosages of sarcasm and humor had in his voice, but he seemed amused with himself when it was obvious enough to see he knew what a miserable state of despair this place was.

"If you were looking for something like the Taj Mahal, prepare to be greatly disappointed, runt."

With a quick rub of his nose, he would then point to an open door and this direction would lead Toki straight towards a room with what appeared to be faded wooden cabinets, rusted counter tabs and faded tile flooring. In it, there would be a large, and surprisingly, modern looking fridge hooked up to an electrical outlet. Inside it's contents would be nothing meat, meat and more meat. Enough meat to feed an army, and enough meat to feed a frail little high school girl. Buffalo, chicken, goose, goat; there was enough meat, both frozen and prepared for her to make a fine feast out of.

"You look starved, if you need to, devour and fill your stomach with something good. Ya' gotta bulk up if you are gonna last long in this world. One good punch or two and it looks like you'd go down as easily as one of these trees out here."

Echoing another laugh, he'd then point his claw at Zero and make one last statement:

"Make yourself at home and let the questions come. You looked as misplaced as a techie in a den of warriors."

Leaning his head so that it was adjusted upwards to gaze the ceiling, Radioactive would then take his own words to statement -- if only to find the same woman looking down on him in that moment. With a blink of his eye, she vanished and a pulsation of warmth soon echoed throughout the room not long after.

'Yeah....it's been awhile since we had company....

Artist: Mogeko Castle - Song: MaouDamashii Town 10 - Word Count: 521

“It’s Zero!”

The brunette whined as she entered the giant’s humble abode. She wasn’t offended by her nickname or anything, runt described her quite well in overall appearance since she was petite, but she preferred her own alias. It sounded more epic than runt and she liked sounding like the epic pyromaniac that she was. Though, no one needed to know of her habit of starting fires in order to entertain herself, just that she was an epic fifteen-year-old that would become even more epic as time went on.

Zero raised an eyebrow as she noted the state of the house, her mind automatically comparing it to a decrepit house that was in desperate need of some loving or a haunted house, the ghost hiding out somewhere, biding its time until nightfall when it was free to cause anyone within the house a heart attack. She seriously wondered if the giant actually lived here or was simply visiting for the dust everywhere couldn’t be good for the lungs. He probably had asthma if he lived here, but that was none of her business.

She moved to inspect one of the dozen photos pictures as the mister settled himself on the couch. She wiped the dust from the picture frame she grasped within her hand with the back of her sleeve, the brunette obviously unconcerned with the fact that all that dust had transferred to her shirt. Instead, reddish brown eyes would roam over the picture, paying close attention to the smiling couple in it for a couple seconds. She glanced at the giant, her eyebrows raised in amusement.

“Ya know this house is every clean freaks worse nightmare, neh, mister.”

She put the picture back where she found it, retrieving another one and wiping the dust from that as well.

“Ya should spring clean sometime, mister.”

Zero nodded her head, confirming that was in fact what the giant needed to do. She grinned as she put down the picture she hadn’t even bothered to look at, giving the rest the same treatment before retrieving the first one she had picked up. She had every intentions of asking about the female in the photo, but first she would inspect the broken down kitchen the blond had directed her towards. Opening the fridge up caused the brunette to blink several times, the teen taken aback by how much meat was within. Now, she wasn’t a vegan or anything, she liked meat very much, she just hadn’t seen so much at one time outside of a grocery store or market.

“I think it’s a den of lions and I eat three times my body weight in snacks, mister.”

She stated as she emerged from the kitchen, the picture in hand. She wasn’t hungry at the moment, so she wouldn’t be eating anything right now though that could change later. And since she was offered the golden opportunity to interrogate her fellow Initiative, Zero decided that she would get started right away. She plopped herself right in front of the couch and held the picture up, her index finger tapping the frame.

“Who is she?”

What Time Is It Mr. Shark? Empty Re: What Time Is It Mr. Shark?

Artist: Eric Skiff - Song: underunderclocked mix - Word Count: 803

"Zero The Runt. There. Does that sound better?"

After that remark was made with an air of sarcasm and play behind it, an almost a tired sort of yawn given at the end of Radioactive's response as his lone gold eye opened up and observed the pouty girl before him. She seemed to be quite curious about the condition of his house and that somewhat amused him. Given the vast age gap between the two, The Nuclear Giant almost couldn't help but wonder what was going on in her head. Surely it must be a whirlwind, so he'd poke it and see inside the twister for himself.

"I take it isn't to your liking?"

There was a slight laugh given after he posed that question in the air. Although, his expression soon turned to a rather curious look as his right eyebrow rose in reaction to her actions. Apparently, she found one of his pictures which showed both him -- and one very special person to his heart -- together. So, with a chuckle, he'd handle her wise cracks before getting into the nitty gritty of it all.

"Good thing I'm not a clean freak then, Zero The Runt. Luckily for me, I can live in a lake of acidic waste and be just fine if it suits me. Heh-heh-heh."

While he was seen rubbing his nose a bit with a cocky smirk popped up around his lips, the shark toothed man almost seemed proud of this lethargic fact about himself. It didn't matter if his surroundings were clean, dirty or outright uninhabitable. So long as he felt comfortable within spirit, everything else was irrelevant. And, given the extent to which his body was durable, there was a lot to back up those bold assertions.

"Me? Clean? That's a joke. Heh, if you want, knock yourself with cleaning if it bothers you."

Another slight laugh left the male's laugh as he knew he couldn't be bothered to clean this place up. This was not out of laziness, although he was quite the lethargic fellow outside of combat. No. This place, to him, didn't need to be clean. It was a cozy sort of place where nostalgic memories of years gone by could not be sullen by his hands. So, to cherish that memory, he'd lay it just in the state it was when it was abandoned.

At least, that was the broken logic he followed. It didn't account for the fact that his lingering spiritual energy was the only thing keeping this shack of a home together. For now, though, he'd keep his lingering eye on Toki as she browsed and tinkered with his pictures. Touring the kitchen, musing about and making all sorts of coy facial expressions and statements. There certainly wasn't much fear in this one and that oddly made Radioactive relaxed himself.

So, he'd roll his wrist and utter this banter back at her:

"Keep that eating up and you'll be The Chunky Runt. Meat gives you lean muscles, a strong figure and a healthy constitution. Snacks are just garbage."

The voice of Radioactive seemed to be dipped between a sense of gruff nature, comical air and nonchalant tones as he interacted further with the strange girl. Though, when she plopped herself down in front of him, that lone gold eye of his fixated on the picture and he seemed to stiffen up -- if only for a moment.

Since he wasn't the type to otherwise shy away from these type of things, he'd simply tell her like it was without much hesitation:

"That's My wife: Chinchuro. Well, my dead wife, anyway."

He had quite a bit of time to cope with it, so there was a bit of humor to be had even in the worse of circumstances that life could throw.

"But being dead clearly doesn't mean much of anything in this world we live in, now does it, girl?"

There was a shrug given before he seemed to gaze off at other pictures in the distance and then back on Toki.

"Anyway, this is the home me and her built together with our family. As you can probably guess: my own little runts haven't been here in awhile. Care to guess their fates?"

A morbid chuckle left the mouth of Radioactive as he indulged himself in a bit of dark humor given that he knew quite well where most of his family ended up. What Toki would make of that was up to her, but he was curious as to where she was trying to go with asking about this sort of sensitive information.

"Why does it matter?"
