Confusion.
That was the first thought that came across the mind of Radioactive as he gazed his golden eye into the amber stare of Toki. There was a sense of surrealism that the hulking figure of The Nuclear Juggernaut sensed when observing her. Hence, he'd stand up and give another hard pat on the head to double confirm he was indeed real. When doing so, he'd let off a hard chuckle at her expense and pop off a cheesy shark-toothed grin in return.
"Ha, I don't blame ya, runt. The outside is bruised and damaged, but the inside is my kingdom."Chuckles coming to an end, the face of the massive man turned somber for a moment when pausing to reflect what he had been doing alone in that house up until that moment. Taking a glance to the window, if he didn't know any better, the imagery of a woman with apricot hair, slender waist and nine carrot colored tails was seen waving at them both with a smile across her face.
...
He wouldn't react to it, but he knew it wasn't real. Best keep with the course of conversation and entertain the youth before him.
"Radioactive. 'Course it ain't my birth given name, but I hardly know ya enough to divulge that, runt."While ruffling up her hair against his hand, there was a tone of jest and merry in his voice when uttering that; but there would have to be a deeper bound made to penetrate that close into his identity past the exterior of the weapon his body mirrored.
Nonetheless, the sensation of softness was the first thing that took him off that pattern of thought when the girl grasped him in a handshake. Usually, he had only known the gruff and rigid touch of another warriors hardened and brazen fist held against the palm of his scarred and battered palms. Yet, when touching Toki's gentle hand, there was a slight sense of surprise in feeling that physical response once more. It meant that he truly was back into the lands of civilization when touch did not equate to savagery.
All of that time spent brawling against anything that moved in lands quite bitter and cold takes a toll on a man. So, there would only be a minor sense of awe in his eyes before he gave a firm handshake back in return; followed with a hardy laugh.
"You must be excited, eh Runt? Why not. Let's go."Turning his body back towards the sight of a beaten and tattered wooden door, Radioactive turned the golden handle leading into the darken and sullen room. This, in turn, would have the "Mister" and the "Runt" embark on the exploration of his cherished home. The first thing she would find is sunlight and darkness piercing into what seemed to be a living room. There were many dust pictures on the world; some of family, others of a happy couple and a few friends of said family from the looks of it.
Much of the floor seemed dirty; as if it hadn't been cleaned in decades or so. Dust coated the windows, furutine and walls like a plague. While, in the center of the room, there appeared to be a leather black couch that looked as if it was recently dusted off; meaning it was undoubtedly one of Radioactive's resting spots. The walls were a dull shade of white, while the bottom of the room was covered in rotted wood.
All in all, it was a faded room and looked as if it had seen better days.
Because -- of course -- it's owner had clearly seen better days.
One glance at the scars on his body would indicate that much.
So, with another chuckle from his mouth, Radioactive pointed towards the living room and slammed himself against the couch with a loud thud.
"And this is my noble estate!"There was large dosages of sarcasm and humor had in his voice, but he seemed amused with himself when it was obvious enough to see he knew what a miserable state of despair this place was.
"If you were looking for something like the Taj Mahal, prepare to be greatly disappointed, runt."With a quick rub of his nose, he would then point to an open door and this direction would lead Toki straight towards a room with what appeared to be faded wooden cabinets, rusted counter tabs and faded tile flooring. In it, there would be a large, and surprisingly, modern looking fridge hooked up to an electrical outlet. Inside it's contents would be nothing meat, meat and more meat. Enough meat to feed an army, and enough meat to feed a frail little high school girl. Buffalo, chicken, goose, goat; there was enough meat, both frozen and prepared for her to make a fine feast out of.
"You look starved, if you need to, devour and fill your stomach with something good. Ya' gotta bulk up if you are gonna last long in this world. One good punch or two and it looks like you'd go down as easily as one of these trees out here." Echoing another laugh, he'd then point his claw at Zero and make one last statement:
"Make yourself at home and let the questions come. You looked as misplaced as a techie in a den of warriors."Leaning his head so that it was adjusted upwards to gaze the ceiling, Radioactive would then take his own words to statement -- if only to find the same woman looking down on him in that moment. With a blink of his eye, she vanished and a pulsation of warmth soon echoed throughout the room not long after.
'Yeah....it's been awhile since we had company....
