Drops and Lights

A tug and pull dance.
That's what life was in some cases - well scrap that, most cases. Today, it was just a regular day for the brown haired male. He had just gotten off his last job shift, and let out a tired sigh as he was walking back home. It wasn't quite the dead of night, but it was pretty dark already. So he was, of course, cautious. After all, it was alway during this time that the fun things like to happen to him. Like some child ghost hiding behind him as an ugly thing shows up from the dead spirits, or some muclehead trying to throw things at him for trying to help out a sweet girl. Honestly, you'd figure he'dve learned to keep to himself by now.
But then he heard the wail of a child.
With a physical groan, and a facepalm, the male considered his options. He could go into the direction of the wail, walk into whatever trap or situation that was - and yes, he was well aware of that possibility - or he could just walk away. You know, ignore the whole thing. For a moment, he was indecisive, but a second wail pierced the silence, and he let out a longer groan. ''Fucking dammit, why is it always me?'' he said aloud to the night. Flicking open his phone, he dialed the emergency services - just in case. ''Yeah, hello, I'm like, behind the Kimura building, and I heard a child wail. I'mma go look at what it is, so I'll keep this line open please? Just in case it's something like a robbery or whatever.'' he said into the line.
Walking towards the wail, he arrived to see nothing.
''Wait why is th- holy fuck!'' he started, only to be interrupted as something lunged at him. ''Well, crap, that's a hollow - bet it was formed inside the town, that's why the barrier didn't trigger. So erm, some help please?'' he said towards his phone - he did hope they kept the line on. Aw crap, he can't do shit against a hollow, seriously. Stepping aside another lunge, the wail came up again, and twisting his head around, he saw a carriage with a baby inside it - and beside it, something he'dve rather not seen. ''Aw hells, man this is bullshit.'' he muttered, shaking his head. Quickly bouncing towards the baby, he picked it up, only to jump to the side in reflex.
Hopefully, if there was someone that'd help, they'd get their asses here like asap. He couldn't super dodge with a baby after all - he was just a regular guy, and he was lucky enough to avoided the strikes as it was.

Freedom!
The tiny child did not exactly comprehend the word, but he could feel the emotion, the elation which came with having no restraints. While he loved his life at the laboratory, where his loving mother and father were, he also could not help but want to see what else was in the world. Rasuca Desavarsit Hebi had been gifted with his Father's curiosity… or perhaps cursed with it. In any case, the child had kept in mind the ideal that the Doctor had placed into his mind since the womb.
If run away… run away to… Karakura City… Japan…
So he had, having willed his entire body into a spiral as he sent it flying through the laboratory, sliding out of its confines and into the air, where he had again turned himself into a spiral, travelling great distances as he felt the wind in his hair, until he had arrived at his destination, allowing himself to fall downwards. "Aha!" His small voice let out, his body falling gently to the ground as his palms pressed together, pushing downwards as he impacted with the ground. As he did so, sparks of pure power emerged, roiling outwards as the ground itself began to change, transforming from hard earth into soft sand, his body falling gently onto it as he giggled, bouncing a bit.
"a… ba…?" He let out curiously, his hands reaching up and out of the hole he had made as he slowly righted himself onto his hind legs, having learned just recently how to walk. The smile was still on his face as he began to slowly waddle away from the impact site, his head looking from left to right as he took in all of the scenery.
Eventually, the small child came upon something which interested him. A small bird, singing on the ground. "Ah… dah…?" He blinked, looking it over curiously. The bird seemed to pay him no mind, even when his hands gently wrapped around it and moved it in front of him. The bird seemed totally at peace, not fleeing or reacting, still preening itself. "...Bah...Err...dah…"' He said, remembering his mother's books and what she said when she would point at pictures of them. Thinking of his mother made Rasuca smile. He loved his mom.
As he held the bird in his hands, he noted that some of its feathers began to tip with white, and its eyes slowly became tinted with dark blue. "Hehe…" He laughed again, before suddenly turning his head to the side. His nervous system had gone into full alert, his spine straightening. "Uh.." He let out as he slowly stepped back…
A terrific monster had appeared, smashing into the ground as it stared the small child down. The child, for his part, looked the monster straight in the eyes, gently setting the bird down. Rasuca, whenever anyone threatens you, you do not look away. What do you have to fear of them…? You are far superior… While the words of his mother did not hold any actual symbolism to the child, yet… their emotions did. And those emotions were why the child's eyes hardened, his back straight as he stared the demon right in the eyes.
"Tweet tweet!'
Before Rasuca's eyes, the small bird shot forwards, its wings flapping about as it spiraled in an arc, smashing its beak into the hollow's face. But then… the hollow reached out, smacking the bird from the sky, causing it to be sent flying away. And upon that sight…
"UWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!"
The wail pierced through the city evening, crashing through the area with a great amount of force. Even the hollow was a bit thrown off guard, and then a man appeared. His hands grabbed around Rasuca, and took him away. "u...Uwah… Uww…" He let angry little noises, his eyes still staring at the evil hollow, but now with dislike and twinges of hatred.
As he did so, his own right arm began to slowly break down, the arm that was pressed against Takeshi's own. As it broke down, Takeshi's arm began to change, the fabric over it slowly changing to white. In addition, his skin continued to pale, and all hairs that were on it began to fall away. His bruises, or freckles… all of them vanished. Finally, upon the tips of his fingers, small tips of flame had emerged, and to his mind emerged an emotion. A will to fight was presented to Takeshi.
To harm those who would take what you love, to draw a sword to keep another in the sheathe…
While they were the words of the father, the spirit had been inherited by the son. This will was what Rasuca was trying to communicate to Takeshi… and hopefully he would use that arm which could now wield fire to hinder the great beast that was pursuing them...
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

There were certain things he expected out of today.
His delivery boss being a groping dick? Like always. His customers being weird most of the time? Also expectged. Finding a baby next to a woman's corpse and well during that time, a hollow attacked them. Well to be honest, he should have expected it - misery seemed to love his company. As did misfortune. And this proved the point, as he jumped over one more attack sent by the tail of this creature. Seriously, what the heck was he doing here? And how the hell did he saddle himself with a kid on top of that? Although now that he thought about it, the baby was weird. And by weird, he meant really weird, like it even felt weird.
With a quick peek behind he, his consternation that the body of the dead woman was gone - was that one of the hollow's diversions? - and the carriage too. However, he still had the baby, and although he'd figure it wasn't human... it seemed to be angry at the hollow. Well, it wasn't his prerogative honestly, as he was busy trying to not get smacked by the creature. Thank goodness he had good reflexes - although, he knew he was caught when he reached the end of a alleyway. There was no escape and then something tingled. His arm felt weird - heck, there was this thing in the back of his mind. Pushing and pressing and finally, the male looked down.
''Holy fucking shit.''
Well okay, normally he wouldn't curse around kids but first: the kid's arm had VANISHED. Second, his own arm was now... not even his arm. And third - he could feel a need to fight boil under his veins and he just has no idea what the bloody fuck any of this is. ''I had to pick up the demon baby.'' he said. Luckily for the baby, he was holding it with both arms. So adjusting himself a bit, he figured he could use whatever this demon spawn had decided to give him, if anything to stop that stupid fucking roaring in the back of his mind. ''Okay I get it, calm down! Jeebus, I can't think like that.'' he said, hoping that the kid either understood him or something.
Despite that, his arm moved as if it was natural, the flamed claws catching the hollow's tail in his hand.
''... You're serious.'' he said, deadpanned. The hollow stared at him a moment, and then with a squeeze, the flamed tips dug into the creature. And then it began trying to squirm away, red cracks appearing through the slender limb. The creature, in panic, ripped it's own limb off, before slinking away from the male with the hand. Takeshi just stared at it a moment, trying to comprehend the fact that he had not only moved on his own, but he was fighting a hollow whilst holding a baby that was missing an arm. Oh right, wasn't his phone still on?
Shifting the baby back to the flaming arm, he put the phone to his ear, only to hear the dial tone.
Snapping it shut, he shifted the baby again, feeling that irrational urge to fight again, as the squirming hollow was moving around towards them once more.

Rawr.
That was the single base thought that passed from Rasuca to Takeshi as the child scowled at the hollow, Takeshi cursing while holding him as they fled. RAWR. The thought echoed even louder in Takeshi's mind as the two of them were turned around, before hearing the man's words, his head lowering slightly from the tone as the intensity of his desire decreased, but the underlying current remained.
More… The concept floated through Rasuca's mind as he placed his remaining arm on Takeshi's chin, giggling slightly as more of his cells broke off, flowing into Takeshi as Rasuca's fingernails vanished, drops of blood falling from their departure, the golden ichor that was in his veins staining Takeshi's shirt. A peculiar feeling would begin to flow through Takeshi's flaming hand. Around his fingernails, the feeling grew strongest, before becoming absolutely intense as his fingernails began to spin about in place. There was no blood, in fact there was nothing, but the fingernails themselves. Rasuca's hand moved, his pinky through middle fingers closing into his palm as he lifted up his thumb, pointing out the final finger as Takeshi would feel his hand doing the same, pointing at the hollow as Rasuca sent a signal into Takeshi's mind.
Bang!
And just like, Takeshi's fingernail would be sent flying, arcing through the air as it spiraled rapidly, smashing into the hollow's shoulder as the flaming nail coursed around its body, slashing about in great waves as licks of flame were thrown into the air, the nail flying about in every direction around its body as it began to rapidly rotate around its torso. The nail's power cut all over its body, pressing it back as the nail began to rotate, spinning faster and faster as a small pressure appeared in Takeshi's mind. Rasuca was still staring intently at the scene with a smile, the nail now going so fast that it had become a blazing ring around its torso.
"Da…" He let out, looking from his left to his right for a moment, a small frown on his face, before looking back at Takeshi's hand. Babbling once again, he began to make noises, his arms moving back and forth as he looked from Takeshi to the hollow. While he didn't know how to explain it properly, he just wanted for Takeshi to use the four other 'shots' that he had as Rasuca had, to completely take down this beast. In the short amount of time it took for his arms to flail about, however, the nail had lost its power, falling to the ground as it was consumed by flame, the hollow roaring as it looked down at the pair of Takeshi and Rasuca, baring its mouth once again as it darted towards them...

Man, he really didn't do things half-way did he?
Not only did he find a freaky demon baby, but it was pressing itself inside of his head. He could hear it - and it's thought processes were surprisingly clear for a child. But /still/ he couldn't help but feel a mix of curious, and exasperated. Usually, weird shit happened to him if he got involved - case in point, this entire baby is fusing stuff of it's own dna onto him, and it's making weird things happen - but this was taking the cake. It was like he got a new perfume that would attract these kinds of really weird circumstances. Needless to say, he had no idea what he was doing. But something in his veins was stirring, it was pushing, and it wasn't just the demon child.
It was something else.
The child was once again messing with his arm - he could feel the current of energy slip through his body, and bit down on his lip in a sense of anxiety. And slowly, it began to do something, his own arm obeying the command that was given. Takeshi just watched, eyes widening, at this show of what, of power? Of control? Whatever it was, it was clear. This child was giving him powers - him, a random guy off the street - powers to most likely defend it from the hollow. And it was both a humbling, and terrifying experience. A child trusted him, the guy that was being sarcastic as a defensive mechanism to split the reality from his dull world. And yet the amount of power it was giving him was terrifying.
The great licks of flames made him want to shiver, but again, that push inside of him.
''Okay kid, remind me to not piss you off if you're holding grudges.'' he said. His tone was light, but his face hardened. Remembering how it had felt when the toddler was showing him the ability, Takeshi found it coming naturally. And for once, he could something other then deflect. Maybe for once, he could do something that broke his mold, and yet let him feel good about it. The screaming creature was lunging at them, and opening his eye just a fraction more then he normally does, the aimed his hand in a gun like fashion. ''Boom.'' he said, as a nail shot itself from his finger.
And embedded itself straight in the forehead of the beast.
Slowly, as if waiting, the red cracks began to appear. With a quick motion, he sent off the rest of the nails at important joint locations - he had to guess, like that sinewy tail was not obvious - to hold it down, as it started to thrash and scream. And slowly, the male walked over to the hollow, taking a breath. And then dove his hand into it's hole, and let go of the tenuous control he had over both the power and his own mind. With a burst of intense flame, the creature began to burn from the inside out, as if being purified by intention. It writhed and screamed, but Takeshi did not let up until it was completely gone.
And then fell down to the ground on his butt.
''Hey demon baby, think you can... fix my arm now? I'm sure you'd like yours back?'' he said, breathlessly.
A nap sounded so good right now, but he needed to finish with the demon baby first.

"Arara…" The small child told Takeshi in response as its head turned back to facing their mutual foe, his white hair shifting as he faced the opponent. Watching Takeshi's hand reach outwards, Rasuca began to happily clap as he watched the man fire each of the nails on his fingers, slamming each individual attack into the opponent as it fell back, nearly beaten. Still held in Takeshi's arms, Rasuca reached in his own arm along with Takeshi, pressing against the hollow's insides as his eyes widened.
"..Ah…!" He let out, before suddenly cringing and folding in on himself. As the hollow's body burned, Rasuca slowly relaxed in Takeshi's arms, before finally leaning back and letting out a very strong burp. His body had absorbed the energy from each of the souls that had been consumed by that hollow, thanks to his nature as the Arrancar Iramasha. Releasing another burp, his eyes slowly began to close, his remaining small hand gripping onto Takeshi's arm as he gently nodded, feeling Takeshi's desire as all over Takeshi's body, each of the aspects he had 'borrowed' from Rasuca returned to the male, flowing back into his body as he gently smiled, rocking back and forth in the man's arms as his eyes slowly closed after they had been lowered to the ground, taking that nap that Takeshi so strongly desired for him.
Then, slowly, a shadow began to draw over the both of them, and a voice was released as the shadow's owner drew back his hood.
"I see… that you have something… which belongs with me… and I've come… to take it back…"

You know, why didn't this day never end?
Well, at least the child slowly went to sleep - never mind that weird reaction when touching the hollow, or that it had burped after wards, and never mind the fact that Takeshi had a good theory as to why, and did not want to go there - in his arms. Takeshi himself was exhausted. Even though the kid did most of the work, it still drew on stores of energy that the male hadn't even known he had. And that's what was exhausting to be fair. So he wanted to take a nap as well, but forced himself to stay awake, and slowly get up, making sure the baby was nice and safe in his arms.
Hey, even though it was weird and stuff, he wasn't going to let an innocent child get hurt.
And that helped when he was suddenly startled by a voice - he tightened his grip and automatically shielded the baby from the presence, not that he'd admit it - and then looked curiously at the voice. And found his gaze met with... well let's just say he couldn't doubt the man's words about the child. Not that he wanted to, with that cloying feeling that curled in his stomach. With a push, he evened out his emotions, making sure that none of it was sent back to the child - he had noticed how it responded to his desires more so then his words, he wasn't stupid - and stood his ground.
''I do hope you just got here, because elsewise I'd have to question why you'd leave a child against a hollow like that.'' the male said.
Oh he knew it was cheeky, and that probably in the face of such power - the feeling that felt like fear wanted to rise, and he stomped it because it was too troublesome right now - he shouldn't. But why stop who he was? ''Just be careful not to wake it, alright?'' he said. Sure, it was weird to say it of a child, but honestly he didn't want to check the gender. He'd figure that the figure would tell him, as he slowly picked his way, making sure to not jostle the child. And then slowly extended his arms to give it back to the obvious father. Although, a part of him felt anxious, simply because he had no proof and he didn't want to place a child in a possibly dangerous situation.
Yet, the more reasonable part - or the lazy one, honestly - thought it was better off like this.

"Hmm…?" The male asked, looking at the boy who had 'saved' his child. On the one hand, it was true that the Doctor had indeed found the pair of them when they had begun to interact with the hollow. The woman that Takeshi had seen earlier was an illusion created by the Doctor's Rinnegan. "A child…? That is true… However… he is my child…" The Doctor, Kabuto Hebi informed the man before him, reaching out both arms as he slowly took Rasuca back, smiling warmly as he held the child in his arms.
"But.. Rasuca is perfect. He is perfect chaos… he constantly changes while inciting change… and you made him awaken to that fact…" The Doctor informed the boy, clarifying as he let out a small laugh. "I assure you he is male. That may be altered in the future, depending on what he desires, but Rasuca's mind is male, born from man and woman…" The Doctor explained, before looking at Takeshi's eyes, his own wide as he released a mental assault on the young man.
The Doctor's mind pressed against Takeshi's, trying to swim its way inside of his own through the Rinnegan as it changed to the Japanese kanji for three. After a few moments of this, the Doctor would retreat once more, though not before leaving behind some… interesting things in the boy's subconscious. "Here, take this." The Doctor stated as he pressed his right hand against his chest, slowly drawing out a wooden training sword. "Think of it as thanks for working with my son…" With that explanation, he threw up his open arm, releasing the weapon as he tossed it to Takeshi. "You'll be carrying that with you from now on." The Doctor explained with a smile, before stopping and pausing for a second, looking up at the sky before looking back down at the man, his smile smaller but definitely there.
"I shall give you one other gift. Is there anything you wish to know about the truths of this world? About the city you live in? About the conflicts happening around it? About the nature of the human soul? Anything at all that lurks in the darkness…?"
All the while, the Doctor's arms were cradling Rasuca tenderly, holding him against his chest. Due to the nature of his cloak, Rasuca was placed seamlessly against the Doctor's own body, sharing his warmth with his child, awaiting Takeshi's response...

Well, that explained the demon baby if this guy was a weirdo too.
Takeshi caught the pronoun, and was relieved. He didn't want to have to ask about the child's gender outright, honestly that'd be rude. And Takeshi did listen to what the man was saying. Even if he didn't exactly understand all the nuances - perfect chaos? What? altered? What the fuck? - he had a general idea. That general idea is that, he had found something that was way above both his pay and caring grades. And of course, Takeshi's eyes met the strange man's, and as narrowed as they naturally were, something weird happened. When their eyes connected, a headache started to worm itself into his head, and he couldn't look away either.
Something surged underneath his skin for a moment, but was then muted.
And suddenly it was gone, and the male brought a hand to his nose, rubbing the bridge. And then he let out a sigh, before the person before him spoke - again. And handed him a sword. He thought of protesting, but he simply grabbed the weapon without a word. He could still feel that thing coiling in his gut, and he knew that he had pushed things here and there with his cheeky attitude. So he had to be at least semi-obedient. For now. And when he grabbed the handle, he was surprised that it wasn't slimy or anything, considering how the - who was this anyways - just pulled it out of his chest. Weird. And that instruction too - Takeshi just rose an eyebrow. ''Okay...'' he said, letting it hang.
Man, this day was being all sorts of awkward wasn't it?
The man seemed to offer Takeshi something else. And the male opened his mouth to retort, and then closed it. Was this person serious? He couldn't be sure, but the sudden urge to speak, to ask something that he thought he had buried long ago came up. His gaze landed on the babe, and saw how much care the man was giving him. That relaxed a part of Takeshi that was still ready to do the impossible. And then, he suddenly blurted the thing on his mind. ''Why me?'' he said. He jumped, startled that it had come out. ''Let me correct that - things have been happening all my life. I ignore it, I move on. I don't involve myself. And yet, they still happen, they still follow me as if trying to pull me in. All the deaths that follow me like misfortune - all the strange beings I end up being involved in by accident. I was starting to consider fate was making me her bitch. So that's my question: why me?'' he said.
Strangely, a weight lifted from his chest as he had asked, surprised by his own frank honesty. It wasn't often that Takeshi was truly honest in anything - he hid things behind half-lies and implications, preferring to keep a distance from things. Speaking from his heart like he just did was a rare thing. He felt a bit awkward for it to be fair, and started to shuffle.
Maybe he should start running right about now.

The Doctor was glad that the boy obeyed his request - after all, based on what the Doctor had found, he would definitely need it. "Why… you…?" The Doctor said simply in reply, looking at Takeshi with both of his eyes open. "They happen because that is your destiny." The Doctor told him simply, a sudden unnatural breeze passing through the alley as it blew into the Doctor's hood, knocking it back as his bare face was revealed, looking directly at Takeshi's eyes as he smiled. "You were birthed with the ability to see spirits. Can you fathom why? It is because there is something which lies within you, something which has yet to reveal itself." The Doctor explained to the young man, holding up Rasuca in his arms for emphasis, the child still sleeping in his arms.
"Just like this child… your destiny is simply marked for critical and significant events. You will be unable to have a normal life. Yours is one marked with chaos." The Doctor continued, gazing up at the clouds of Karakura, before for a moment a darkness passed over his eyes, that unnatural breeze vanishing as easily as it had begun. "In no way is that a bad thing. It can be a bad thing, but it completely depends on your own reaction. You can either embrace the chaos around you and realize that your actions are the only things that matter… or you can resign yourself and let the world toss you around."
With those last few words, the smile ran away from the Doctor's lips, as he slowly shifted Rasuca to his left arm, pulling something out of his cloak with his right hand. Lifting it up, he held a blade, although it was clearly crumbling into pieces, its core absolutely devastated. "This is my version of what I just handed to you. As you can see, it has been destroyed. But it was destroyed through executing my will. Is that a bad thing? I have chosen to say no. I have chosen to say that I was blessed to have this blade destroyed, because it made me realize the true power of what I was doing battle with." The Doctor told him, feeling a peculiar… resonance with the man before him. The Doctor himself was not unfamiliar with the idea of hiding himself behind lies. It was a skill he had used to great effect all of his life. As a result… the Doctor decided to give this man everything that he could, as both thanks for the saving of his Firstborn and for deciding to trust the Doctor.
That was something he wasn't used to.
Finally, the Doctor looked back down at the sword in his hands, before sighing as he flicked his wrist, sending the blade sailing towards Takeshi. "Just reach your hand out." He instructed the young man as he turned around, his right foot reaching out as his sandal connected with the ground. If he truly trusted the Doctor's words, then he would simply reach out his hand, feeling the blade's hilt flow solidly into it. "When you can release the power of that blade, you will be saved." The Doctor instructed him, smiling as he suddenly stopped moving, his head turning around to face Takeshi one last time as he released a wide smile, one that took up the entirety of his face, the usual madness returning to his eyes.
"Thanks again."
And like that, the man's body vanished, as he performed an Earth Pass, his form flowing beneath the earth, taking him far, far away……
