Hayden shifted his weight off his left foot as he stood in the large overgrown tree, one of many that inhabited the loca Karakura forest which he had been stationed to patrol. Since his time being stationed here he had managed to clear out a lot of the forest with the help of some friends and a warden, this led to the reducement of all the bad nasties that hid within the forest but none the less the job of a protector was never done. Hayden began to feel the presence of a low level shinigami, actually near the same level he was when he first started the Vanguard. He supposed they might be able to handle themselves before he felt a low level Adjuchas near them, it was that or a high level Gillian but he was willing to put his money on the former.He let out a sigh removing his large claymore like Zanpakutō from his back, decisively taking a step forward disappearing to the normal human eye when in reality he had just activated his shunpo aka flash step.

As he made his way through the forest making slight movements as with each step he dodged trees as his vision tunneled for a moment as he locked on her spiritual pressure, she would be able to easily detect his pressure but the chances of her seeing him was slim unless he slowed or stopped using his flash step. He knew that the chances of her being able to take on a Adjuchas was slim so slim in fact that he was worried that she might be instantly killed if she went up against that thing. However, as he finally arrived into the clearing he did however see he was a little late as the Adjuchas had arrived before him the wolf like adjuchas letting out a howl as it then flexed it’s body releasing a large amount of spiritual pressure to perhaps throw the other shinigami off it’s game.

The Adjuchas was a massive wolf like hollow, similar to a werewolf in build and how it could stand up on it’s hind legs. He was thinking that this shinigami would end up being a nice and easy meal perhaps a minor power boost, yet as it began to pounce it’s muscling tensing it felt a strange reiatsu source in mid air as it pounced for the Shinigami. Suddenly it was on the other end of the forest and a large muscle bound shinigami stood in front of the weaker shinigami. It had briefly seen what happened.

Hayden had appeared in front of the Hollow stopping it’s pounce in his air, using his blade to parry to the claws it had and stepping forward feeling his spiritual energy condense as he sent his fist forward which had launched the Hollow away from them. The shinigami he hadn’t bothered to look at yet but they would see a serious look on his face but if they looked close enough, they would see his lip edges twitch up in a smile. He readied his blade once more in a typical stance as the Hollow roared at them, beginning to slip into the dense woods to hide away from them, dropping and masking it’s pressure which would give Hayden time to address the Shinigami.

“You need to stick close to me.” He told them without looking at them yet, shifting around as he tried to locate the pressure of the wolf Adjuchas. Suddenly the sky around them began to darken as clouds of blackness and energy began to thunder, the lightning striking around them as it’s power surged erratically- however it seemed the lightning was centered on the Shinigami as he readied himself for the next hollow attack.

Selia herself was recently wandering about dense forests she was told about, informed that she should head there to help better herself or something similar. Her information however was gathered by over hearing a conversation, which led to her getting far too excited and rushing out. Each step led to leaves being crushed underfoot, large eyes scanning the area. She seemed quite relaxed at first, no feeling of unease or danger within her mind as her arms were even swinging from side to side with each step, handle of her weapon gripped, loosely held as the whip itself was coiled around her small fist. The small child had little clue as to what truly was within these forests, at least for the time being. In just moments her eyes widened, stopping in place with her right foot slid forwards just slightly, head turning as she sensed a strong presence. Something... Someone new.

With her attention diverted, she was unable to react accordingly to a new threat arising before her. With the crunching of twigs underfoot heard in front of her, her vision was centered unto the source of the sound, leading to her entire body tensing, almost freezing up from what she saw. A massive beast, hollow, adjuchas, before her. The beast on it's hind legs as thick claws dug into the ground below, tearing into the dirt with little issue as the well toned muscles of it's powerful body was revealed. Her gaze slowly traveled from it's feet up to it's head, fingers twitching as her whip was slowly uncoiled, falling to the ground as she held unto the handle of her weapon tightly, sharp blades seen now jutting from what was once a normal whip to form it into a much more lethal weapon.

With the loud howl filled with power, she was caught off guard. The pure spiritual presence the creature released was great for the girl's small frame and weak power, arms brought up in front of her in an 'x' formation, pressure pushing her back. Feet began to dig into the ground, entire body skidding backwards against the ground before she was forced backwards, falling on her behind before her head hit the ground, dull pain felt as the hard earth was nothing less than a hard surface to land on. She quickly tried to recover, sitting up and getting ready to stand before seeing the beast's muscles tense, claws exposed as it leaped forwards. A shriek escaped her lips, eyes widening as fear could be sensed within them. This... This felt all too familiar to her, something beastly lunging towards her before...

Before it simply wasn't there anymore, seeing the beast launched away, deep into the woods as something stood in front of her. Her sight was instantly focused upon the person's face, praying that it wasn't something with a mask, and much to her joy, it wasn't. It was instead a humanoid face, stern, serious, but with the faintest hint of a smile. It made her feel just a bit better, less afraid and worried that someone was here, just like the time before. As she began to stand, hand pushing against the ground as her legs stood straight, small frame seen standing as tall as it could behind the newcomer, the man spoke. She assumed that much was obvious enough, needing to stick with him or else deal with something that looked that powerful, at least to her.

With a quick nod of her head, she finally spoke out. "I-I will! Uhm... Thank you for helping me sir and I don't wanna distract you so I'll stop talking now I'm sorry!" The words escaped her lips quickly, still realizing the serious tone to his voice and the situation in general. Fingers began to curl around the handle of her weapon once more, deep breath taken as her eyes began to try and scan the area, dull throbbing on the back of her head ignored to the best of her ability. Her searching was cut short quick, area turning much darker than before as the sky blackened, atmosphere much more intense than before. As lightning struck, she shrieked out in fear, girlish yelp easily heard for a fair distance around as she took a step straight forwards, pressing herself against the newcomer's back. The girl quickly spun around on the heels of her feet, pressing her back against his as she used both hands to hold her weapon tightly, fingers locking against one another to reveal her fear as her head turned back and forth, trying to find it. Trying to see where it would strike from. Trying to keep herself safe and not die so soon after finally becoming a Shinigami.

Cr-CRACK.

The sound of lightning around them began to drown out anything else as it struck around them lighting them, bring light to the once darkened forest. Each arc of the magnificent raw force making itself known to the world, striking it with such force it left small indentures in the ground. This was no ordinary lightning if the smaller shinigami couldn’t tell but the raw manifestation of the reiatsu that poured forth from the other shinigami, pure lightning that focused around them lighting up the dark edges of the forest where the monsters hid. But no matter how much they could hide, they would never escape the fate that laid wait for them by the Dragon of Karakura. The lightning soon all focused on one point as it converged onto the shinigami empower him as his body began to glow a deep maroon color his Zanpakutō covered in what looked to be a maroon lightning that pulsed from his body to his blade. However, despite the lightning close proximity to the young girl she would not get harmed or even touched by it- as if it ignored her focusing on the man manifesting it.

Hayden lifted his Zanpakutō up slightly closing his eyes as he tapped into his master level focus, his body unmoving as he listened to the rustle of the leaves to the whistle of the wind. His Zanpakutō radiated energy along with his body enough so to make it a little hard to breath for the much younger and weaker shinigami as he only tapped into a small percent of energy. Suddenly his foot shifted to his left as his blade tilted to his right in a strange Zanjutsu stance something she most likely wouldn’t have seen before, his feet spreading to shoulder length as he let out a breath adopting a completely offensive slayer stance. Being one of the sole survivors and last pure blooded descendants of the Macto clan had it’s benefits like being able to learn some of their styles a bit more easily than others. Suddenly his eyes snapped open his irises focusing on one point of the forest, his foot stepping forward before he let out a yell his blade glowing before releasing a large amount of energy in the form of an arc of lightning as it began to warp and fly towards the forest slicing through trees and leaving a large gash in the earth. She would see where trees used to lay was now empty but what was their was a Adjuchas with a very missing arm and leg that was still in shock completely still.

In that brief moment to the young shinigami Hayden simply vanished from sight, where he once was now was just a dust cloud. However, she would see that the Adjuchas had a new line that completely bisected the Adjuchas. She would also see Hayden simply beginning to sheathe his Zanpakutō on his back as the Adjuchas dispersed into reishi now purified, his shoulders rotating after the small warm up. It seemed the clouds in the air was now beginning to simply disperse as if the storm was never meant to be their in the first place- now leaving a full moon that lit the area up. He began to turn around letting a yawn out making his way back to the young Shinigami offering a wave to them as he noticed how tight and clenched she was from all that.

“You can calm down, it’s over.” He explained to her softly before arriving a few feet away from her, his hand going into his robe idly as he looked around. “You should really stay out of the forest- it’s been kinda.. hectic. Would you mind me escorting you back to the city?” He asked clearly he wasn’t going to force her to come but he guessed after this she would like to head home.

“By the way, what’s your name and why are you out here? I got reports to fill out and it’s good to have that information.” He shrugged a little tired at this situation, he knew she might be a bit shaken up but it was better to move past these events and quickly. If she knew what was good this would be a reality check for her, maybe she might find a reason to get stronger.

The girl was left speechless, in awe, utter amazement and bewilderment at what was happening around her. She was oblivious to this type of power, or any power far greater than hers at the level she was at. Lightning arcing all about, sending flashes of light to the immediate area around the two Shinigami. Deep blue eyes began to widen at electricity began to focus towards the mysterious stranger, grip on her whip tightening further before an arc slammed into the ground besides her, a shriek of fear as she took a step away, quickly spinning around as a hand reached out. Fingers attempted to grip unto Hayden's clothing before another bolt slammed just where her hand was, leading to her reeling back and falling against the ground, behind hitting the ground as she stared ahead... She feared the worse, seeing the man before he get struck down with a bolt of lightning himself, body tensing further before seeing that he remained standing, unharmed.

Unharmed, and stronger. The feeling of him seemingly exerting more pressure was incredibly strong to her barely developed powers, and just the sight alone was something new. In the next moment, a large arc of energy was released by him, blade soaring through the air and cleaving through it, sheer pressure alone making her need to gasp for her breath. What she saw next was awe-inspiring, trees no longer growing from the ground, nor even existing as the energy tore through some of the forest and part of the revealed beast. The site of the utter destruction made her believe that even if she spent all that time working, she had many people still leagues above her, and with the sight of the man no longer in front of her, dust left behind as boots imprint were the only thing left to show he was there, she panicked.

Eyes darted only to see that he was behind the massive creature that threatened her life just moments ago, blade slowly sheathed as the essence that held together the Adjuchas began to disperse away, beast fading away to be purified. What was once a tense atmosphere began to lighten around her, clouds parting away above for the moon to be revealed as her new ally stepped towards her. Her body language did show she was afraid, nervous, anxious, but with a single wave, she loosened up, hand slowly being brought up to wave in return to him. Slowly, she pushed herself back up to a standing position, deep breaths being taken as her whip returned to normal. Fingers gently began to wrap it safely along her arm as the handle was left dangling just a few inches from her hand's grasp.

She spoke up, almost all nervous tension felt before gone as she seemed almost happy, corners of her lips curling upwards to form a faint smile. "T-Thank you sir, I uhm. I-I can't really just leave, I'm here for a reason..." She took another deep breath before glancing towards the ground once more, remembering just what had happened and that maybe this was a goose chase for someone of her level. Maybe after so long she wasn't ready. Her voice was heard once again. "I'm Selia, I'm really new and I heard from some people that this forest was some place really good to get stronger." She stood up on the tips of her toes, trying to seem a bit bigger than she was, only gaining an inch in height. "I'm a Shinigami too! I... I wanted to get a lot stronger in order to help people, but I... The things here are a lot worse than what I heard. That thing was so big and scary and... Powerful. But you just destroyed it easily?"

Her curiosity was piqued. She never knew him, and someone this powerful appearing from the forest to come to her aid was a bit odd to her. She remained silent for just a few moments before speaking once more, taking a few slow steps towards him, thick tail seen trailing along the ground behind her and crushing the grass. "Why did you come help me? You're super powerful, shouldn't you be fighting those really big and scary things that hurt people, not just the forest?" She didn't seem to get the whole situation fully, not yet clicking into her head just what his purpose was or the blessing she was given today. She didn't seem all too keen on rushing out further, and from how she tried to remain at his side, she agreed to being escorted far away from this area.

We agreed to drop this thread, to move onto something else. A summarization of what happened is my guy convinced her to join the vanguard to get stronger.
