Artist: Fairy Tail OST| Song: Bust Street| Word Count:796

Hayden was sitting down in the busy market this evening, his face expressing he was in deep thought something many people in this area often did. It was near a park so people tended to come through here a lot if not to just buy some groceries like he was here today, he had sat down just to enjoy the afternoon sun. His thoughts had be going back to his fight with wolf, the titantic battle he had fought weeks ago his chest tightening at remembering what happened to him. That fight was damn near something he never wanted to experience again, to have felt so useless after a battle. But yet, he had come out of that battle with a small blessing something that he hadn’t expected to get- whatever he infected him with he was starting to be able to control it.. frankly is puzzled him. As his thoughts swirled around erratically in his head he finally sighed looking up at the sky to see it was around high noon, what a nice time of day for the normal people in the world.

Finally, he turned his head away from the sky like a man that had given up looking for a signal for some divine being. He just felt so tired lately since that battle, his boredom also began to set in not that long ago actually when he got out of the hospital in record time. It was strange even a shinigami should not be able to heal that fast yet he was able to get out of bed and active in record him, but he was still not allowed to take on any super strenuous activities which frankly made him jumpy. His work was all he had so without it well- he wasn’t good at social situations. However, as he scanned the crowd before coughing slightly on his drink at what he saw. In the crowd he saw three similar looking woman who for all purpose was some of the most attractive women he had seen in a while, he found himself becoming slightly flustered as he realized he was staring for a bit longer then normal. His head began to look at the floor to quickly bring his attention elsewhere, hopefully they didn’t see him.

He began to whistle slightly something he hadn’t done in years, he typically did this when he became nervous or anxious in the bad way. He wasn’t particularly the best when it came to social situations, he hated it to be honest. Between keeping to himself for so many years and always being in a constant fight of morality and actual battle for his life he just never found a purpose in being a social person. However, he had never became so.. flustered when dealing with that, each of them women first off had skin that just seemed so smooth that it seemed physically impossible. Their general facials looks to say the least was beautiful and with the bodies to match, he wasn’t a superficial guy when it came to women or people in general but it was hard not to gawk at their beauty. He actually was slightly smitten whether he admitted it or not. He shifted in his seat slightly, he hated being this self conscious when it came to social settings.

His mind began to slip back and reflect on his other situations, he always liked combat better than having to normally talk with people. It just allowed him to truly see who someone was, when people fought their passions revealed themselves and frankly it was the same for him. From his brief encounter with Azure to his full fledged battle with Wolf he at least got a glimpse of who they were, frankly he enjoyed those more than this. Yet.. he wanted to talk to them. Finally, with his nerves solid he stands up before looking over to them perhaps they finally noticed him but as he approached them he was sure they would. He walked with a sort of confidence not that he could easily talk to them but a pride and will that showed just a bit he was a determined soul in what he did in general- looks like he was hiding something however.

“Excuse me, could I ask all of your names? People call me Hayden and I just.. well I wanted to say you three are extremely beautiful.” He commented with a sheepish smile rubbing his head before dropping his arm. He wasn’t extremely tall but standing at a flat 5’11 and extremely built due to his physical condition in both his mortal and shinigami life, but he spoke with a sort of falter like he was nervous which definitely did not fit this warrior.

Hayden for a moment began to realize, that these women may actually be the ones he was meant to meet this day on the market. The more he stared at them he actually began to think it was them, he coughed before realizing he just complimented a pair of possible recruits.

"You wouldn't happen to... be possible recruits for the Vanguard, my leader Azure told me I would be meeting a pair of sisters here.."

The Soldier meets the Sisters Empty Re: The Soldier meets the Sisters

Fri Jul 31, 2015 7:12 am

Artist: Kevin MacLeod — Song: One-Eyed Maestro

It was around that time.

It was around that area.

So, Kimiyo's respectful opinion of Azure was dropping lower by the second. It was a planned meeting, meant to be between the Big Three and a member of the Vanguard. This was to be their recruitment, with a given time, a given area, and an actual representative of the Vanguard. The problem was that said representative was missing from this picture. Ha! Kimiyo had been so earnest about this rendezvous that she'd arrived early, and she hardly ever was on time in the first place. However, now she was waiting past the arranged time, one minute, three minutes, five minutes. Impatience wore at the woman's already short attention span while the moments passed by. They looked like idiots standing here in the open like this, while the crowds circumvented them and walked past. They were receiving looks, as per usual, but unlike most times, they couldn't just ignore them. After all they were looking for some person who was part of the Vanguard, so they had to have their eyes peeled. At some point, Kimiyo finally decided that they'd needed a place to sit down and relax, that wasn't too far to not be found. Eventually a trio of bar stools would open up at a nearby outdoor drink stall, enjoying a thriving business in the middle of the market during the summertime. If they were going to continue waiting, at the least they were going to do it sitting down.

Three mugs of beer were slid in front of the Miyake trio, one for each of the sisters. Droplets already clung to the sides of the glasses under this kind of heat, and foam looked like it was only just about to overflow, but not quite. The rich brown liquor promised to quench the temperatures if only they let it slip down their throats. Since they were here anyways, they might as well have endeavored to try the drinks they offered. Of course, it was Kokoro who paid for the lot of them, given her passion for all things alcoholic and the empty wallet of Kimiyo's. Kokoro already was gulping down the drink as it arrived in her gaze, and Kimiyo was second to bring the drink to her lips. However, Naomi seemed to just be hovering over the drink with closed eyes, arms folded up in her lap. Kimiyo shot her a smirk.''The oldest out of all of us and you still have never had a real drink in your life. You should really should just let yourself enjoy these things.'' Kokoro seemed to let out a muffled sound of approval without taking the beer from her lips, but Naomi wasn't having any of it.

The more she enjoyed her drink, the more Kimiyo seemed to develop her impatience over the wait. The glaring sun wasn't really helping things either. She set her glass down half-empty, thumping the table in her frustration. ''God damnit, Gramps. If you hadn't banned me from using my best techniques in casual circumstances, then I could put some clouds up in the sky to cool the place down.'' She spoke in a loud, aggravated tone, and her face was flushed red as well. It was unsure whether that was from the heat, her irritation, or the drink however. ''Knowing you, you'd probably make the situation worse!'' Kokoro, the middle sister, was now snorting in laughter, holding an empty glass in her hands. She was leaning back a little and looking like she was about to fall right off her stool, but somehow maintaining her balance. Worst of all, the top few buttons of her shirt had come undone somehow, showing off more than a decent amount of her cleavage. It was a... thing that happened when she got tipsy. When Koko was drunk, she got real drunk.

Surprised and embarrassed, Kimiyo smacked Koko over the head with her hand, only causing the messy-haired woman to snicker even louder. ''Shut up! And at least try to keep your shirt on today.'' More laughing. Seconds later, a loud thud sounded and both sisters would turn to look at Naomi who sat on the other side of Kimi, finding her face down on the table in front of her. Her beer was still untouched, but she was the first one knocked out. Kimi watched as blue-haired woman snored with her mouth open, beginning to create a small puddle of drool against her cheek. Geeze, she was just so hopeless. Attempts in trying to get her to try new things was an exercise in futility, honestly, and this was quite often the result. It only seemed to elicit further guffaws from Koko, and Kimi would let out an exasperated sigh. She spun her stool around to look out into the market throng, sitting back resting her elbows on the table behind her now. Koko attempted the same with a little too much strength, spinning around several times and exclaiming 'Weeeeeeeeee' before managing to stop herself facing in the direction. ''Where the hell is this recruiter...''

The delay proceeded on, the flow of time measured by the tempo of Koko's joyful humming. Crimson hues scanned the crowds for anything that seemed obviously Vanguard, but to be completely honest Kimi didn't know what she was looking for.Was there a certain uniform? An insignia they all wore? Perhaps the time and location had been confused by Azure, or something. Anything. They just dithered about, waiting for a sign that they were being looked for. In that process, Kimiyo found a pair of eyes locked directly onto them. This set was different from the others... not because it was special or unique in any way, but because the owner of such eyes seemed to lack any amount of respect or decency, and just kept staring at them in a flagrant manner. Most people had the sense of mind to look away once they had their fill, but not this one. Kimi's gaze transformed into a glare once she realized it, and eventually Koko would realize it as well. That's when the man started to walk towards them.

''Well, well, well... Looks like we have a brave soul today. And he couldn't have picked a better day for my wrath~'' A subtle glint shone in her eyes, and she folded one of her legs onto her knee as she watched him draw closer through the crowds. Naturally, when he arrived, she could tell from the moment he first started speaking what was on his mind. What a hero, asking for not just one, but all three of their names at once. He also managed to toss out a generic compliment in the same mouthful, so clearly he was a real professional. What was even modesty? Kokoro snorted loudly, but appeared to be looking away when noticed. Kimiyo looked him head on with a sinister smirk on her lips, and was just about to bite into him quite brutally before something flashed across his face; a realization. "You wouldn't happen to... be possible recruits for the Vanguard? My leader Azure told me I would be meeting a pair of sisters here..."

A shadow fell onto Kimiyo's face as his words hit her, as if something snapped inside of her. Her muscles went rigid and she began twitching erratically, unable to believe what had just been told to her. ''So that's the excuse you're going with for why you were staring at my tits?'' Kokoro blurted in her drunkenness, her button-down shirt still halfway undone, a haze in her eyes and a blush on her cheeks. Meanwhile, Naomi let out an unexpectedly loud snore in the midst of it all, still dead asleep. Kimiyo was in the center of it all, a three-ring circus, and she was stuck in the middle of it. This was the guy sent to recruit them? A man who just realized that he was supposed to be recruiting them? A man who had just tried to hit on three women at once and thought he could get away with it?

Ah hell no.

The next thing he knew, Kimi's fist was flying up into the man's chin, uppercutting him with such force that it would sent him hurtling into the air and far away. The blow would throw him out of the market, landing his body into an open field adjacent to the bustling streets. Voices would escalate and people would scatter, clearing the area between the Big Three and the one who introduced himself as Hayden. Kimiyo was standing straight up, having broken through the effects of intoxication with sheer anger and willpower; she was ready for a fight. ''Well -hic- looks like it's going to be a fight,'' Koko stood next, grabbing the strange-looking staff of hers that was leaning against the bar, twirling it around gracefully while managing to not hit anything in the process, before finally digging the butt into the ground. She used it to balance herself, still looking a bit unbalanced after her drink. Naomi was third to rise, sensing the trouble brewing. She yawned before stepping up next to Kimi and opening her eyes lazily. ''Ohhhhh~ Did the recruiter finally arrive~?... I'm ready, I'm ready~...'' The Big Three were up and primed for a fight now, especially Kimiyo. She grit her teeth and punched her own hand. Whether it was for the right reasons or not, this man would definitely get to judge the women for what they were worth not. That being said, it was not a good way to start their camaraderie.

Don’t lose control.

Not now. Not now damnit!

Hayden body was in mid air as he thought this time feeling slowed around him as he felt the Death Matter in his body begin to react at a high speed to the punch wanting to repair whatever was done but Hayden actively and barely forcing it down. In all the sound and bustling around him as he flew through the air he tried to figure out just for a moment what he had done so rude, he complimented them and asked for their names, wasn’t that was what people did? He knew he was bad at social situations but to be punched with so much force to send him out into the street, yet something inside of him snapped as well. This was not the place to do this, nor was risking the lives of those around them any better not when he knew he would have to judge their powers. As his back hit the ground he laid there a moment before sitting up slowly, his arms resting on his knees slightly his head tilted down a bit as he managed to shrug off the pain for the most part. They would be able to see a trail of black liquid flowing from the edge of his mouth, what blood should have been was the liquid in stead but he remained quiet with a blank expression on his face. The instabilities inside of him slowly but surely beginning to calm down as he began to stand up taking a angry look but not removing his Zanpakutō entering a hand to hand combat stance.

His feet spread away from each other a bit longer then shoulder as his fist came up in soft closed fist so he could open and close them quickly if he needed to parry a fist, his face had taken on a look of anger at the three. This was a marketplace, a place for civilians to gather and not have to deal with power entities going to battle and interrupting their day with their constant battling and what not. If she wanted to attack him so be it but he would make it clear a tenant of the Vanguard was to protect civilians and bringing any type of damage to them was seen in his eyes as treason. “I don’t know what you’re assuming, I don’t know what I did wrong and I sincerely apologize but you are crazy and insane if you think fighting in the marketplace is how we operate in the Vanguard. We will be fighting in a different place or if you wish to keep fighting here- it will reflect my report.” He told the sisters calmly prepared to deal with whatever they threw at him. Hayden may not have been a social person but when it came to duty and protection he knew his shit, they took top place in his eyes.

He knew they may very well wish to keep fighting and if they did he would not throw a single attack to them, he would place the lives and properties of the civilians first even if that meant by the end of this he couldn’t walk or protect himself. These where potential recruits for his organizations so despite how they felt of him or how he felt of them he expected a certain level of excellence from them and not in the sense that they fought well but their mentalities. His opinion had severely soured of them that they would be willing to fight in a public market in the day time interrupting the flow of things. One wrong move or actions could cast the lives of someone that he nothing to do with this and frankly that pissed him off.

He had to calm down, he couldn’t risk going all out on the sisters he didn’t plan to. He just needed to evaluate their abilities and what not. Hell he was fast enough to flash step everywhere and take a few hits but due to their setting he would hope they would hold back- in fact despite what they wanted to do he began to fly off in one direction towards to forest moving at a speed they could follow which he expected of the potential recruits. He had entered a completely new type of mood his battle born side kicking in- these where some wild cards to be frank. But they would soon find Hayden was a very very stubborn man who when it came to combat liked to judge people through that. But he wasn’t ready to fight at full strength, he knew that if he did there was the potential that instability in his blood could well… explode. He felt himself slowing down as they would most likely be reaching the outskirts of the town which would allow them to enter the forest if they kept after him or didn’t stop him. Considering his control of his powers were drastically reduced.

Artist: Kevin MacLeod — Song: One-Eyed Maestro

Kimiyo clapped her hands together, creating a loud bang and releasing a visible shockwave. A circlet of dust billowed away from the trio's feet and the loose fabrics tented over the nearby stalls thrashed about while the gust passed. Even the stools seemed to rattle a bit on the floor as a result of such a vigorous motion by Miyake. It was a minor tell of great strength, as if the hook to his jaw wasn't conspicuous enough. The fierce red glow in Kimiyo's eyes was unnatural, giving off a light of its own even in the light of day. Her crossed bangs provided just enough shade that it could be seen, piercing straight through the Vanguard officer's body. Red was a color of many meaning: Strength, passion, vibrance, and anger... Such a description did not miss its mark here. Kimiyo's character was radiant.

''Let's go, here and now. I can fight in these clothes just fine, and finish you-'' Kimiyo's voice came out unusually even and controlled, yet the indignation could just be heard behind such a thin membrane of containment. Her sisters, who'd spent so much time around her, and knew her very well, could catch it clear as day. That's why the sleepy one with long blue hair suddenly placed a hand on Kimi's shoulder and pulled. Naomi's strength caused her to twist toward her, stumbling slightly. Her eyes were brought to Naomi's green ones where an admonishing gaze peered back at her. ''Kimi-nee~'' was all she said, but the message was clear. While it was much more satisfying and convenient to beat the man into a pulp here in front of the masses, there was the slight possibility that somebody else would get hurt. Her bigger sister had to remind her who she was.

The interruption gave Hayden the opportunity to escape anyways, so there was no choice. Kimi leapt into the air, followed by Koko, and then Naomi last. The scene in the market had subsided, and the shopgoers would eventually return to their business. A minute or so would pass as Hayden travelled outside the boundaries of the Karakura metropolis, with the Big Three following not far behind. By the time he'd arrived in the forest past the city outskirts, the distance had been closed. There was no longer any reason to hold back. Kimi released the lock that was holding her at bay, and surged out of her self-imposed cage like the fearsome creature she was. Her foe would find no tine for relaxing; the fight was on. It begun with Kimi descending through the tree canopy like a meteor, or a bomb, her long black hair waving wildly behind her. Great speed and force were imbued in her form, and she crashed left foot first into where Hayden was standing, following soon after with a deadly blow from her right fist. The impact would easily form a crater as a blizzard of dirt and grass billowed up into the air. Given that Hayden was in between the ground and Kimiyo's crushing force, he'd find himself flat as a pancake.

Naomi, despite being the last in the train that departed for the Karakura forest, would arrive next after Kimi's destructive entrance. She also came crashing to the ground, but not with the same intent. Rather, as her body plowed through the treetops and any misfortunate branches that got in the way, she landed rather unceremoniously on her face next to Kimiyo. The rest of her body crumpled down afterward, leaving her sprawled out on the ground with her eyes closed. Judging by the snoring coming from her, it would seem as though Naomi had somehow fallen asleep in mid-air and lost her balance that way, causing the mess she was in now. And as for Kokoro... Well she didn't appear at all. She couldn't be seen, nor could her presence be sensed. Admittedly, she was rather easily intoxicated and not in the best frame of mind as such. Perhaps she'd just gotten lost along the way.

Hayden was ready for a fierce battle to say the least, while he wasn’t at full strength he didn’t need to go all out like he thought of earlier. As he saw the sister flying towards him in mid air a noticeable increase in her power and the speed to match it, in a split second he was able to commit the settings around them to memory from the way the breeze was to the spiritual pressure in the air. He would need it in this battle as he only knew of two of the sisters within the area, one seemed to be missing. However, the current sister with the killing intent was flying towards him seemed to take the utmost importance. He didn’t plan to meet her head on in fact he shifted backwards intending to flash step backwards and he was only just able to do so but the force created as she struck the ground causing him to have to flip to catch his balance as he flipped about before ending standing in a tree- once the dust cleared he would see the damage she caused as he let out a whistle. That would have been a bad one had he caught it directly to the body, but due to his shunpo and general speed he would be able to escape that nasty encounter ending up on the other side of the field, it was obvious he was either holding back or not at full strength.

His eyes snapped around quickly as he wanted to check once more if that sister had arrived yet, the slightest disturbance would cause him to know if someone or something to arrive. In fact he knew a flock of birds had just passed overhead from the brief changes in the wind, focusing on two or even three enemies was child’s play but fighting them proved to be the hard part. Although from the entrance that the second sister made caused him to frown, he doubted that they would end up fighting but he looked to the other sister before dropping out of the tree lifting his hand to look at the two sisters.

“Enough.” He ordered standing there however prepared for any attack the sisters may send his way, ready to dash away if he felt a danger coming to him. “You’re far too powerful for me to fight in my weakened state.” He simply told them straightening his back as he eyed the two of them before sighing shaking his head. Of course he would be tasked with checking out these three insanely powerful being in fact what would azure even be thinking sending him to handle these three. If he was going to test them they deserved a proper test.

“I cannot accurately make a judgement on your powers, I’m placing your combat trials on hold in favor of something less interactive.” He explained his dull green eyes narrowing at the sister who was currently leaking such strong power. “Or you may resume attacking me, though your chances of entering the Vanguard will be non-existent for disobeying a direct order.” He was indeed pulling the rank card, he needed them to know just how serious he was about these least he was going to be attacked. But azure had taught him some things and sometimes it was better to handle situations in other ways, he would wait for their response till then. He didn’t need this shit not today, not with the potential to explode. It simply wasn’t worth it. Despite how much he hated not being able to fight if Azure knew the danger he posed with his instability- no it was a foolish idea to do this.

Artist: Majikoi — Song: To The Brightest Future

The sound of the Shuryou's fist impacting the scruffy man's face was a sickening one, as the reverberation of her knuckles bounced off the bone of his skull. The velocity with which it would smash his nose into concave would be impressive, much faster than the speed of his mouth trying to get his words out. For such a soft looking effeminate body, she hit more like a train, and then kept on running for a few more steps before stopping. Oh, the poor victim did not understand just how much of a hot head Kimiyo was, and just how much his behavior was upsetting her. It was the threat of daring to invalidate the Miyake's recruitment over such an inconsequential reason as his, that set the femme fatale off. As soon as the message was across, she bounded toward him as fast as her legs would carry her, and gave him a taste of what she thought about that. By the time she settled, she was standing with her back towards Hayden, the flesh over her knuckles red and steaming with Chi. She turned her gaze back towards him, showing one of her crimson eyes to him as she glared.

''You would honestly use that as a shield against my pride? Are you a man or a mouse? A man who hid behind authority like that could not call himself a man any longer. It was sheer incompetence, continued on from embarrasing tact in the marketplace. Kimiyo recognized authority, but she could not let herself or her sisters be disrespected without recompense. Besides, she was confident that their capability would overwrite the personal judgment of this officer if it came down to it, in terms of worth. They were planning for war and could not just turn down volunteers of such caliber. Kimiyo calculated her decision on all these considerations, and decided that no hesitation was necessary. The punch she interrupted him with was, in all accounts of the word, 'worth'. ''Hmph... I would hope for a man that treats women with respect.''

Quite suddenly, there was a rustling from above, followed by a cascade of leaves doubtless of the treetops. If one deigned to look upward, they'd find the frizzy-haired beauty Kokoro sitting on one of the more stable branches, looking down upon the scene with a smile. Her elegant staff was laid across her lap, and she kicked her legs through the air lackadaisically. Clearly still intimate with her drink from earlier, she spoke in a lazy manner, weaving small hiccups into her speech like she just couldn't help it. ''Soooooooo... We're no -hic- not gonna fight each -hic- each other? We -hic-get in scot free? That would be... divine~'' Naomi on the other hand was not intoxicated at all, but her sleepiness didn't need any assistance to be potent. She made like a log and simply remained still on the ground some distance off. Her light snores were the only sound to break the oncoming awkward silence.

For Kimiyo stared Hayden down now, unashamed of her actions. If this was any normal job interview, it would have been one where they never called back. But this was different; this was war. You didn't just turn away conscripts. So what would Hayden do about what had just happened? Kimiyo awaited his answer, her sobriety clear and conviction steady.

Hayden body hit the ground a few feet away as he let the punch connect with his body sending him a few feet away. He chalked that up to whatever pride the woman had as he shook his head beginning to standing up his eyes looking at her studying her face before the clearly broken nose began to contort it’s self into a fixed state effortlessly as the blood that drippled down disappeared into the air. He rotated his neck feeling it pop a few times as he lifted his hand to his neck wiggling his neck a bit before looking to examining the sister, she had a punch to him he had to admit but it was just that a punch. He eventually sat down crossing his arms before sighing as his eyes closed, he spoke finally.

“I pulled my rank because in my position I must make calls that are hard to make, I was recently in a battle that infected me with something that causes me to be unstable.. in that regard it effects me mentally and physically. Physically I my body explodes at such a rate where I disintegrated a mile worth of forest- that is why I wish to not do battle. I fear my body would overwhelm it’s self trying to fight all three of you- I pulled rank because it was the quickest way I believe to stop the fight. I do wish to fight you just at this moment my needs override my wants Ms. Miyake Kimiyo.” He explained to the woman his voice firm but showing his tiredness as his body constantly worked overtime to make sure he remained calm and not allow him to become over excited. He didn’t know his triggers to explode but the more hyperactive he was the more he was prone to explosion.

“I truly am sorry for how I may offended it wasn’t my intentions to do ‘flirting’ or ‘hitting’ on. I am not good in socialness and have been trying to figure it out better hence why I went up to you.” He explained his arms still crossed with his legs as it was easy to point out from his controlled breathing and his firm voice that he was trying to control himself in some manner. “I am not trying to lord over you about my rank or title but I hope you understand in time I am not the man to do something like that if I don’t think it was for the best. I will be willing to do our personal battle in the future but for now I fear for the safety of the surrounding area- Your strength is something I do not take lightly.” He opened his eyes looking at the sisters beginning to stand now that he felt sufficiently calm- he had spent plenty of time mastering the art of calming himself down.

“I wish to proceed with your three trial, my people are in a time of war and I believe my call of duty would have me give you three a fair exam. I wish to put mistakes and trespasses behind us- I’m just rather.. socially inept to be frank.” He finished, this would be his answer and response to what he would do. The Miyake sisters now had the ball in their court, would they hate the man more for his reasons or would they move forward.. or maybe neither. Only time would tell.
