It was one of those days Hayden actually was able to rest and recover from his patrols outside the city walls. Truth be told it wasn’t quite the best place to be spending it, in the slums that is. Yet perhaps this was just a place he could fit in despite the large Zanpakutō that rested on his back, this was an area where he could still help people be it with a bit of cash or protection. As he walked through the slums he looked around seeing various activities such as children running about, the elderly fanning themselves with fans, and even a few street performers. Overall, it was a pretty average day in the slums of Karakura Town.
As the Shinigami walked through the streets he briefly stopped at a small stand that had been set up by a elderly woman selling produce. Despite his spirit nature he found the day to be a bit hot himself, so he opted to buy a few mangos which she placed in a bag along with a few bottled juices- particularly apple juice. Truth be told he liked fruits, the savory taste each of them had and juiciness always attracted him to it, as some said Death Gods loved apples. As he placed the yen on the table he gave a smile to the lady nodding slightly before making his way down the street, biting into one of the mangos he purchased.
As his stroll kept going he heard off to his left what sounded like a small child yelling something about a ‘teddy’. He briefly stopped to see some girl carrying a stuff dragon toy, which he approved of cause he liked dragons, begin to stop looking tired he assume. He looked around as if trying to see if her parents were around before he felt something strange, that girl wasn’t quite human it seemed. He sighed, it would seem that his job never quite escaped him. While she wasn’t posing a threat a child demon couldn’t just be left wondering the streets unattended, so with a slight smile he walked over to her waving his free hand slightly.
“Hey- I heard your tired, what are you doing out here then, small child?” He asked softly his face having just a bit of concern. While his voice wasn’t smooth like silk it wasn’t gravely or fearsome like some warriors- it had a sharp edge to it but kindness was mostly always detected. He had one of those faces that just screamed he was a good guy sometimes- at least to the innocent people he met alot.
“You shouldn’t be out here alone, it’s dangerious.” He warned waiting for her reply, this little girl was interesting to say the least. If she was here then it could either by dumb luck, bad luck, or something was afoot. He didn't quite like it but at the same time he wasn't biased enough to immediately assume something was wrong. However, he offered her a small smile to calm her down.
