As grey rain fell from grey skies, the only hint of color besides red on this battlefield was the shimmering royal blue of a portal. Stepping out from within it was Sentient AI ASRA 1534-2. The Main Unit surveyed the battlefield with an incredible attention to detail. The power levels on both sides were astonishingly weak, making her almost frown in disappointment.
Though, she had a secondary mission here, besides observing the battlefield from a neutral standpoint. She wanted to learn more about this barrier. Though Dr. Caldwell would no doubt wish for her to break it down to allow passage for Vanguard troops, ASRA merely walked casually through the battlefield, her physical barrier of electricity crackling as both demons and Vanguard members alike (As they were no more aware of her presence than the demons, being that she herself is a project of classified persuasion) attempted her defenses.
She would stand a grand distance from the city itself, merely staring out at the massive bubble as the demons relentlessly attempted her barrier. They would find themselves promptly fried. Given the statistical probability of the dome she was currently surveying becoming more powerful due to this war-time, ASRA wanted to be nowhere near it, in the case that it released... unsavory effects.
Though she had no soul, being a machine, it was still just as likely that the barrier itself could do physical damage. Physical damage she was more or less not prepared for. Turning around as she detected a far greater relative spiritual presence in the area, she began to burst away from her position in the open toward higher ground at something approaching mach two.
Reaching the top of a small cliff she looked down. Zooming her visual receptors in to the max to analyze him, she could see that he was a Sugiuran. Male. From spiritual decay, over 700 years of age. Power level comparable to Dr. Caldwell, but skill with utilizing such power yet to be analyzed. 700 years and he still lacked greater power than James? This was merely a testament to the power of science for ASRA, as Dr. Caldwell's power was mostly attained through sheer lack of anything but intuition.
ASRA smiled. This would be interesting. Perhaps she would get to study a more active battlefield. As grey drops covered grey earth, the only color she was interested in here was red. Red like the alert she had received for this man's appearance. Red like the blood of the mortals spilling below. Red like the dome, looming in size and power.
But ASRA was blue. She was not anything like anything that could be found on this battlefield, and so she observed with a keen eye everything that occurred below her. The clashing of steel and the firing of cannons and firearms and other such conventional weaponry... She recorded it all in the interest of studying it later. The science of the battlefield was truly what she wished to learn.
Yet for all her ability, ASRA still could not comprehend the drive which spurred them to fight. To kill. It seemed so irrelevant to her processing cores. Carine stayed at home. Why couldn't these humans stay at home? Why squabble over land when there is so much of it, relative to their size? Why risk their lives, their own sentience for some dirt and grass, which they have from the comfort of their own home? She would boldly ask someone, were it not a warzone.
Though ASRA was still curious. In order to save herself from jeopardizing either side's probability of winning, she would open a portal in front of the Sugiuran. Stepping out of the blue, quite literally, she would look him over, then simply blink. "Why do humans fight such foolish battles?"
