Re: Opening the Door to a New Life[Shin]

Unlike Shinryu, Giriko didn't have any sort of plan. Well, of course the intention was to test his vice captain's limits, but the captain didn't have any concrete goals for him. He wasn't there to test out how strong he was, or how great he'd do under a specific circumstance, nor did he really have any plan for a lesson to teach him. However, there was a lesson that the man was in fact going to have to learn. Forcing a Bankai was premature. Ignoring that Giriko simply wasn't going to unleash it here, he had not yet mastered controlling that much power yet and he wasn't really looking to level the entirety of the Division Barracks, especially not after he just got his hammock, the man was still going to have to actually force the Shikai from his opponent before he started worrying about the second release. The boy would only flash him another wide grin when queried on what he really wanted. He didn't really know the answer to the question. What he "really" wanted was probably to go take a nap, but out of the actually available options this seemed like the most useful and simultaneously the most potentially interesting.
"Wow Ikarutori...his is much cooler than our's...why ya gotta be so boring?"
Giriko was referring to Shinryu's release phrase, but his mumbling stayed relevant throughout the whole sequence. The boy watched lazily as he revealed his Shikai in its full splendor and Giriko, despite himself, couldn't help but begin to feel excited. The red smoke that erupted from the weapon stopped him from being able to see...but he didn't need to see. He rarely actually used his eyes at all. Giriko let out a loud and noticeably, tauntingly noticeable, exhale as his eyes settled closed, the eye lid hiding the tinge of excitement in the tiny captain's eyes. He couldn't see the size and shape of his opponent's weapon, not yet, but he could feel it. The boy could feel, simply through how the air was displaced around him, the shape and definitions of Kimmy-chan's Shikai and it sure was intriguing. He was close range, hand to hand, AND his Shikai actually embodied that facet. Giriko wasn't that lucky. The boy really only qualified for the first two of that three part list. Ikarutori, his Zanpakutō, decided that it would make manifest into one of the most cumbersome weapons imaginable and was pretty dead set on being as big a complication for Giriko as possible. As the Shikai finished wrapping around his arms and the spikes reached their full protrusion, a contented smile settled on to Giriko's face. Oh, this could very, very easily be so much fun. He would just have to hope Shinryu lived up to his expectations and Giriko had hope that he would...if he couldn't do it with talent and creativity than the boy was rather certain he'd manage it with sheer stubbornness.
His attempts at gaining an advantage through deception were going to have to get more creative, but he was the vice captain of the second division, smoke couldn't be the only trick he had, but he gained nothing from the attempt. Smoke didn't obstruct his senses. Air flowed through those particles more than enough for Giriko to get a picture of him and more than enough for the boy to tell when he moved. The second the shunpo was initiated and the lieutenant sprang from the smoke, Giriko had started moving. He was honestly impressed. The flash step itself was a little bit sloppy, but as far as sheer body movement was concerned, the man was just as fast as Giriko. It would almost be slightly emasculating if he had time to think about it. As the step moved through the air, Giriko shifted his body weight forward on to his left foot and as the man's step ended and his right arm went for its swiping swing, Giriko pushed off that foot and twisting his hips in the process. The boy's elbow was tucked and as the fist came up, Giriko's elbow swung down, aiming to intercept his opponent's blow directly in what seemed like an incredibly cocky, and stupid, maneuver. If he processed movement like a normal shinigami, he'd never be able to get away with this, but the reaction time and sheer knowledge he gained through feeling the wind gave him the slight extra edge in foresight and the man's purposefully wide and open swing gave him the final leeway he needed.
"Hakugekishou."
Before his elbow would make contact with his opponent's spiky gauntlet, a pocket of intensely pressurized air would form between the two limbs. As Giriko's elbow would connect with this pocket, the pressurized air would explode outward and batter in to his opponent's fist. While they were roughly the same speed, they were not equivalent in strength. Should Giriko's maneuver proceed unhindered, the explosion would jettison the man's fist away and most likely knock him off balance as well. Should all go as planned, Giriko would carry that rotational momentum forward and as his other arm, hanging loose at his side, gathered Reishi around it before snapping forward, whipping violently toward his opponent as he spun. As the arm would move across his opponent's body, the Reishi gathered along the arm would shoot out, shooting a blade of wind toward Shinryu. It wouldn't kill him, Giriko held back enough, but should it connect the man would have a somewhat impressive gash from his pectoral muscle to his ribs.
"Reishishoudan"
After Giriko's attack and the boy landed, he would waste no time and in one fluid motion he kicked off the ground, darting away from his opponent and looking to put some more distance between them, enjoying simply counter attacking for the time being until Shinryu thought of something clever to get by him. Through their entire exchange, Giriko had yet to open his eyes, seemingly moving with such precision and agility while totally blind. The wild smile on his face had not left him either.

Shinryu's arm moved in and began to collide, Shinryu noticed the change but couldn't react to it. He was hit and blasted in a circular motion due to the rotational force. Shinryu however knew a technique like this was often part of a combination as he focused on Giriko's movements in mid rotation before noticing him prepare an attack.
"Bakudo #73: Tozansho."
While in mid rotation, a blue spark erupted from Shinryu and spread out slightly, soon having a blue energy form into multiple blue lines that quickly created a small, inverted pyramid of blue energy surrounding his form. The blade of win would collide just in time with the barrier before shortly cracking through it, sending splintered winds in Shinryu's direction, cutting at him all around his torso with several lashing but shallow cuts around his form. Shinryu paid that his opponent also had his eyes closed. And he used wind? Shinryu had to confirm something as he smirked towards Giriko.
"Oi Taichou, I'm a bit more cut up than I anticipated, I'm not really the best at using Bakudo it seems. Oh well. Bakudo #26: Kyokko."
Shinryu said as soon, his physical appearance vanished from light. He had to confirm something and unlike most, Shinryu could move around in this state. More importantly however, Shinryu split his Reiatsu into pockets, stealthing his own spiritual pressure to nearly undetectable levels. Detecting and reacting to attacks and opponent positioning was one thing but, he'd confirm the limits of Giriko's sensory capacities in a moment as he simply walked around in an arch towards Giriko's position. Shinryu wanted to observe if his opponent would react to his movements as he inched closer. Shinryu wasn't a fool however, if it came that he was just hiding his knowledge, He'd put Giriko into a position that simply counterattacking and dodging would be less viable as the cuts along his body caused blood to drip down Shibo Aijin's form and his chest. He would stop at fifteen meters from his target, enough distance to react to a ranged attack if Giriko continued to try to peel away. Shinryu then pressed his foot to the ground and shortly after, a blue spark emerged as Shinryu himself appeared as well. The spark quickly forming the inverted pyramid around them, hoping to entrap Giriko so close combat could be forced as with a Shunpo, he moved to be directly to Giriko's right, his right arm surging as his clothing tore apart at the back of his top, ripping the remaining tattered clothing from his body as he swung his right fist forward with Shunko.
