The Start of Something [Private-Dotte]
Fri Aug 01, 2014 2:57 pm
Song: I See Fire (Kygo Remix) --- By: Ed Sheeran --- Word Count: 391
The moon gazed upon the Earth below, shining a full circle in the star-ridden sky; and from the Earth, gazing upon the moon, Kururai had stared up aimlessly, his mind relatively clear.
Before him lied a curvy dirt-road, reminiscent of some old fantasy game, in which the hero went along the path to rescue the endangered princess. Surrounding the thin road were trees and bushes, not quite as dense as a forest, but plenty around to see. Moments earlier, Kururai was under the leaves of the resting at its trunk--this quickly changed when he just so happened to look up, light piercing the leaves and branches blocking many of the rays that seemed to descend from the heavens. Entranced in the interesting light that shined above, Kururai got up and took a step into the dirt-road, allowing him to see the glowing circle in the sky.
"Kururai, what were you here to do again?" The Nether's multiple voices arose in the blank-minded boy's head; surprisingly, he failed to even flinch. His gazes was fixated on the 'moon' in the sky, admiring its glory. But, his mind held enough capacity to process the Nether's words and reply, his words somewhat broken. "Uh.. uh-uhm... I.. I dunno. I sorta... forgot." His affixed gaze on the floating orb broke as well after spitting out his pause-infused sentence. Promptly following, he asked, "Hey, Nether. How come you don't have something like that? There's nothing that beautiful in you. There's nothing beautiful at all in there. Actually, there isn't anything. Why's that?" Replying in a timely manner as usual, with the standard apathetic tone, the Nether voiced out his words within Kururai's mind once again, "There's never been anything in the realm--besides you, of course. If you'd like something like the Moon in here, why don't you simply create one?"
A brief pause occurred before Kururai continued, speaking excitedly as if a phenomenal idea was just spoken in his head. "Mmm So it's called the 'Moon', huh? Hmm... yeah! Yeah, I should do that! maybe I will! Maybe I wi-" His words were interrupted by a snapping noise. Instantly reacting, Kururai looked around him, trying to discern the origin of the noise. This time, he kept quiet as opposed to the usual thinking aloud, and let his words go no further than the confines of his mind. There shouldn't be anyone here.... I don't sense animals, and there's a lack of wind--anything substantial enough to break a twig at least. So... what is it?"

And there stood the origin--not too much younger than Kururai himself. The boy failed to even hesitate, approaching him without reserve. Who was he? Kururai had failed to recognise him despite his acute sensing; and, likely due to a preoccupied mind, the displacement of energy was not noticed. Nevertheless, here he was now, entirely eluded by a somewhat bright being, his hair and clothes far lighter than Kururai's black garments.
Stopped, not to far from where Kururai had stood, the unknown man that could not be sensed, facing him before speaking in a tone that seemed sincere. "You know... if you stare at it any more intensely, it may just blush. One would assume you've never seen it before." Kururai reacted to these words with a raised eyebrow, himself and the Nether both keeping silent. For a moment. It wasn't too long before Kururai made a retort, his voice solid in tone, but the words leaving high in pitch from his lips, "Perhaps I haven't. And you are?" A reply comprised of unexpected words arose, but not before the boy in question had taken a step aside, his head turning to face the moon as Kururai had done not too long ago. "It is beautiful though isn't it? If only we could be so grossly incandescent..." The second sentence seemed to have been said much quieter than its predecessor, but it was caught by black-clad Kururai's voice nonetheless.
A bit of annoyance arose within him, as his question had been ignored; although, he couldn't help but agree with the strange man's words, commenting on the beautiful orb in the sky. Kururai himself had reciprocated to his actions, lifting his head to gaze at the splendor the light in the sky as well. A whisper left his mouth in a soft sound, "Yes... The beauty it beholds seems unparalleled..."
The conversation had moved on, with the stranger turning back to face him. "It's nice to find a fellow admirer of the moon, instead of one of those sunshine enthusiasts who are all rainbows, picnics, and butterflies." Taking not too long to comment, Kururai responded with his very own set of poetry"It's existence is enticing--the sun is cruder. It casts our gazes away from it. The moon seems to accept our admiration." Chuckling, an immediate response followed, "However, away from the grander scale of the sky to the smaller scale of life on earth, what is an individual such as yourself doing out alone in the night transfixed on the moon so thoroughly?"
Kururai was displeased with this question, as the man hadn't answered his very own. Plus, the words he said made him feel a tad insufficient--but, he decided to humour him, replying truthfully, surprisingly putting on a polite air, no less. "Well, for the most part, I've forgotten. But, it'd be strange of me not to ask the same. By the way, I failed to catch your name."

Kururai's eyebrow raised at the words this guy, "Dotte", spoke--and partially at the man's peculiar name. But, that wasn't as much of a concern to him, seeing as they were both in a pretty similar situation. A comforting thought that he, for one of the very few times as it would occur, felt in place. Oddly enough, Kururai actually felt at place within the presence of Dotte. But, carrying on, there was a question the man had asked, and it would've been polite to reciprocate it. "Kururai... Kururai Osamerukami." Knowing that such a name was unisexual, and it was rather apparent that Dotte couldn't discern what gender was, a light giggle barely made it out through his mouth.
Taking his eyes off from the moon and fixating his gaze on Dotte one last time, Kururai remembered not why he had been in this particular spot in this particular moment, but what he was intent on doing afterwards. Visiting the occupied land of his creators on Earth. "Well, 'Dotte', I'm afraid I'll have to say my farewells--but, I have a feeling we may be meeting once again in the future." Not necessarily lying, Kururai had indeed felt like their strings of fate would brush against each other more than once, but it didn't feel like that would be for quite a little while. Until then, they would likely go their separate ways and reunite whenever those strings would once again connect.
Turning around to show his small back to Dotte, Kururai stepped forward, a rip in space appearing right below him. The step forward would not meet the ground once more, instead falling through the rip in space, into the dimension he called home; before his whole body had been consumed, however, an arm was raised, fingers completely extended. Waving, Kururai officiated his farewell to this interesting new acquaintance. Hopefully, his instinctual feelings would be found correct.
"'Til then."
