Roy Hood [Approved 4-3]
Thu Jul 03, 2014 3:26 pm
- Name: Roy William Hood
- Titles: Roy Patterson, The Hood
- Gender: Male
- Age: 19
- Bloodline: A Half Quincy descendant of the legendary Robin Hood
- Affiliation/Rank: N/A
- Appearance Age: 19
- Appearance Description: Roy's hair is lime green and completely messy, as if he had just woken up out of bed and refused to brush his hair. His hair length is about medium and falls a bit past his ears. To match his lime green hair, Roy also has piercing lime green eyes that seem to always be analyzing things and looking for weak points to exploit. His skin is caucasian, hinting at his European roots, which Roy is very happy to show off as he is very proud of his heritage. He does not like fashion very much and is a simple sort of person. Usually he can be found wearing simple suits while pretending to be Roy Patterson, and simple woodsman clothes when he is taking on the persona of the hood. He is the son of a billionaire, yet he does not like wealth, and quite frankly never really has a great deal of lavish jewelry or expensive attires to wear.
Roy stands at about six foot and always seems to be wearing a cocky smile, which is very much due to his over-confident personality, and his upbringing. Hidden underneath his clothes is what some would call, a physical specimen. He has muscles, honed by his training in the woods with his father at a young age, and also has a few scars from the many close calls he had in his younger years. Yet, those muscles are deceptive, as he is quite acrobatic, and he takes great pride in the fact that people doubt he can perform in the way that he does with the build that he has.
As The Hood, Roy chooses to wear clothes that are light, and easy to maneuver around in. He has a quiver, which has been handed down through the generations to him, and he wears it on his hip. The quiver is special as it holds real arrows, but these arrows are specifically crafted to be used as enhancing tools for spiritual embodiment. Meaning that the arrows in his quiver are focusing tools for his spiritual energy to enhance the power of his shots. He only has about ten arrows in the quiver at any time and thus the limit of how many enhanced shots he can make is restricted by the number of arrows in the quiver. The clothes he wears as the hood are usually specifically tailored to help him blend in with his environment, after all you can't stand out as a thief.

- Personality: Roy's personality could be easily perceived just from his heritage alone. He is a cocky, yet gentlemanly individual who tends to show boat at times when the advantage is his. On the outside, Roy appears to live lavish things, and loves to spend his wealth with little to no regard to anyone around him, but in truth this is to simply hide his true identity. In fact, Roy doesn't like being rich, and hates it, but knows that it is a means to an end to do what he needs to do. Much like the Robin Hood of old, Roy loves to hand off riches to poor and to take from the rich. As such, if people would look closer at how Roy acts, and what he does at times, people may notice that every lavish things he buys disappears only a few days later. Only to end up in the hands of a charity or in the hands of the destitute.
As far as manners go for Roy, he is a gentlemen, choosing to be as deliberately as kind as he possibly can. Sometimes this causes confusion among his inner circle as his confidence and his sometimes arrogant persona conflict greatly with his gentlemanly acts. It sometimes gives off an air of him being two faced, but nothing could be farther from the truth. He believes that his arrogance is merely just his confidence being too high and though he will admit that at times he can be a bit overly confident, it doesn't mean that he shouldn't be confident in what he is capable of doing. He is willing to fling money at friends and not expect anything back in return, and is also quite known for being the sort of person who is willing to donate huge sums of money to other's in a blink of an eye. He isn't the sort of man who dwells on worldly things and it is evident, though at times he has to pretend to be to keep his identity a secret.
Roy's arrogance and cocky attitude sometimes rub people the wrong way, but in all honesty Roy is just a nice guy who is extremely confident in his talents. Some perceive him as being too confident, but Roy simply pushes that aside, because he believes that if you aren't confident in what you can do then there is no point in even trying. Also, his confidence may have something to do with his belief in strength, and his pursuit to be the strongest "Hood" since Robin himself. It is because of this pursuit of strength that sometimes Roy takes on challenges that are too difficult for even someone of his talents to overcome. Yet, Roy will never admit that he was mistaken in taking on the task, and will simply brush it off as a "Learning" experience.
Around the opposite sex, Roy is usually very open about how he views them. Calling them "princess" or "beautiful" without any regard to holding back. This is due to his upbringing and may also have something to do with inherited traits from his lineage that dates back to the Dark Ages. Around friends, Roy is known to be a braggart, but is also an overly friendly individual who will help as much as he possibly can within his talents as both Roy Patterson and Roy Hood. He loves to boast around his friends and loves to compete against them in certain task as he gets a great thrill from competition. Around enemies, Roy is very selective about what he does, and how he will do it. He does not want to tip his hand at any time to those that are seeking to undermine him or hurt him physically.
As the Hood, Roy is a competitive, patient, and very analytic individual. He is always looking for openings and always looking for the next big challenge. That challenge may be a fight or a heist or even a conquest of love itself, but the Hood does not back down from these things. He always gives his all and unlike his normal person, he does not hold back who he truly is. Roy as the Hood is much more open to do what he thinks is right and what he thinks is right is that the corrupt should pay for what they do, and those that exploit the poor should pay the price.
Likes: Helping others, girls, friends, challenges, justice, fast food, charity, and those who try to do the right thing.
Dislikes: Manipulators, people who take advantage of women, easy tasks, wealth, dressing in fancy clothes, lavish living, and fine food.

- Background:
The Dark Ages: Robin Hood and Guy Hood
During the Dark Ages there was once a legendary archer known as Robin Hood, what most don't know is that Robin Hood was more than just an archer. He was a Quincy, a well known Quincy in fact, that protected the country of Britain from assaults from hollows, and sinister types. He had followers, who were known as his merry men, who believed strongly in his heroic deeds, and his power to the point that they would die for him. It was due to his that the Shinigami of old, lead by a shinigami who was known to the humans of the area as the Sheriff of Nottingham, came and tried to stomp out his existence. Fearing that he was a threat to the all important "balance" of the spiritual world. They did not care for what he had done for the people of the mortal realm or even cared that he was doing a service to the common folk by protecting them from the threat of hollows to the general public. The only thing that the shinigami cared about was their precious "balance".
It was because of this that Robin Hood could call no place his home and was constantly on the run with his followers. Yet, he continued to help people, and tried as hard as he could to make things as easy for those in the mortal realm as he possibly could. However, it was inevitable that Robin would be caught as he could not back down from a challenge, and always took the most dangerous of missions to help the people he cared for. It was on one such mission, that Robin Hood found himself captured, and though his merry men came to save him, in the end it didn't matter. Robin was executed to save the balance of the spiritual world. His merry men went their separate ways, still continuing to do good in their own way, but none of them as capable as Robin Hood had been. Yet, unknown to all of the shinigami, and his band of followers Robin Hood had a bastard child with a noble lady by the name of Maid Marion. It is from this lineage that Roy William Hood hails.
The son of Robin Hood would be very different to the man who had stole from the rich and battled the corrupt, while saving humanity from hollows who dared stray to close to human civilization. Guy Hood, the son of Robin, was the second to claim his birth rite as a Hood, but unlike his father, was not as gifted in the ways of archery and power. Yet, Guy was the lone Hood responsible for amassing the wealth of Hood fortune because though his power was limited, the cunning and intellect of the Hood family was still very much present in Guy. Guy's knowledge and cunning made him an impressive business man. With his natural talents in both cunning and intellect, Guy blazed trails, and formed many different companies that involved trade routes not only over land, but the sea as well. It is because of this sort of trail blazing that Guy fell in love with an Italian princess and quickly asked for her hand in marriage. She accepted and by the process of marrying her, gained Lordship over a large piece of territory on the Italian peninsula.
With this land, Guy began to expand his operations to textiles, agriculture, and all the while still managed to keep his trading organizations afloat. He earned the respect and admiration of many, not just because of his business savoy, but because of his kindness as well. Guy would have a son and a daughter the time he had died, the boy died of the plague before he was the age of eight, but Guy's daughter Joanna, would go on to marry into a family of pure blooded Quincy. She was a gifted archer and an intelligent lady, yet she was very frail due to an unknown disease. Yet, she would continue the Hood blood line, though the Hoods in the future would take on the last name of the family they married into: Patterson.
The Renaissance: Valen Patterson (Valen Hood)
For several generations the talents and abilities of Robin Hood did not pass down to any other Hood or Patterson born. Also during this time, the land that had once belonged to Guy Hood, had either been sold off to pay off debts, or had come to be inhabited by unfriendly individuals. It was during this time that a true successor was born, his name was Valen Patterson. His skill in archery and the Quincy arts prompted him to gain followers, and people flocked to him to watch his displays of skill and talent, and he to be quite fair, loved the attention he received. These displays of skill and talent, however attracted an unsavory group of shinigami to him. These Shinigami always gave Valen a hard time, trying to make him use his powers to kill so that they could put him down like a dog, yet Valen always refused.
He was a showman and a talented acrobat, he had no need to use his powers to harm others, but yet he was constantly pestered. Yet, it didn't stop Valen from trying to live a normal life regardless of his heritage, and as such he continued to live a life of the equivalent of an artist. He traveled with many circuses around Italy and France, using his natural talents gifted to him through his Quincy blood to give other's a good show. But these sort of things could only last so long, and eventually Valen decided to step down from his position at the circus to seek out a marriage proposal with a girl he had met in France by the name of Olivia. He had been smitten by her the moment that he had seen her and as time had gone on he had only grown more and more fond of the proposal of living his life with her. Yet, he did not want to bring the pressures of travel down on her or the constant harassment of Shinigami looking to get him to do something reckless on her. So he chose the only option he could think of.
He faked a fatal accident on a particular evening and then disappeared from the sight of both the community that he had grown fond of, and the shinigami that were looking to harass him. He would then move to France, using what little money that he had, and then would marry his love Oliva, and settle down in the country side of France to start a family.
Then to Now: Alexander Patterson, Lyle Patterson, and Roy Hood
Many quincy lost their lives during the massacre, one most notably was the grandfather of Roy Hood. His name was Alexander Patterson, a well known businessman, and an accomplished Quincy leader at that. During the massacre Alexander would lead his men into a one sided battle with a group of powerful shinigami. They would hold their own, allowing for Roy's father, still a boy, to escape with his grandmother, and travel back to England, the ancestral home of the original Robin Hood. It was there that Roy's grandmother would teach his father, Lyle Patterson, about the quincy arts, and help him hone his skills. These very same skills would be passed down to Roy, who would use them to continue where the original Robin Hood had left off. Lyle Patterson, the father of Roy Hood, realized that if the Quincy were going to survive after this brutal attempt at snuffing out the life of their existence, that they would need to hide themselves among the common folk.
It was hard for Lyle, who knew his skills, and talents were far superior to a normal human, yet he had to try. It was during this time that he attended several schools in England, trying his best to not stick out like a sore thumb, and to do his best to set up not only his future family, but to also help establish a bright future for Quincy who were looking for sanctuary. It was for this very purpose that Lyle got into a business school, to not only pursue riches and wealth, but to also establish a way for him to help other Quincy who were less fortunate. During his time in school he developed feelings for a particular young lady who would later become his wife, Rosalinne. Rosalinne, a normal human who excelled at sports, and gymnastics hoped to become a world class gymnast, and would later pass down her skills in acrobatics to Roy. Yet, they would not marry for some time as both of them wanted to focus on their own ambitions and not tarnish each others chances with emotional attachments.
So for several years they had a heated romance, but did not seal the deal, choosing instead to further education and their skills. Lyle made several friends with future politicians, trust fund children, and future entrepreneurs, all in an attempt to further his goals of providing his future family with stability and his people's future at the same time. It was due to these friendships that he eventually met Raz Windheim, his future business associate, and the man who would help pave the way for Patterson-Windheim conglomerate, a multi-billion dollar company that would have its hands in multiple businesses across the world. With this new business venture, Lyle finally proposed to Rosalinne, who had failed to become a top notch gymnast due to injuries, but none the less still loved Lyle even though he had succeeded where she had not. They married and only a few short years later had their first child, Ethan.
Ethan, the eldest brother, would take after his father Lyle, but not in the sense that he wanted to help the Quincy, but because he wanted to be a business man. He pursued that, giving little thought to his own people, and though his father did not like that Ethan was the way he was, he understood that was his choice, and did not ask him to be anything else, but himself. A few short years later, the second eldest was born, this time a girl in Cynthia. Cynthia was a bubbly and air headed child with little care about the future, but none the less she was the little princess to her father, and he spoiled her horribly. Cynthia followed her own plans and due to being spoiled, was rather rude to those around her. She gained the title of Ice Queen and lived her life pretty much separated from the rest of the family. She ended up becoming a model for one of the business that Patterson-Windheim Conglomerate oversaw. It was on the day that Roy was born that the Patterson family welcomed a true successor to the Hood family.
Roy at an early age was very avid about pursuing the Quincy arts, but not only that he always seemed to spend time in the woods on their property instead of in the house. He spent more time looking at the stars in a clearing than looking at the ceiling in his own room. His parents, though dismayed over his constant want to be outside, did not hinder the boy from doing as he pleased, and instead fostered his wonder for the outdoors by going on camping trips with the lad. Roy grew to love his time he spent in the woods with his father because it was one of the few times that the two could practice their Quincy arts without telling mother about where they were going. It was through this that Roy improved and learned how to not only use his powers, but to hide them in case shinigami ever came knocking on their door looking for Quincy. Lyle, who always watched over Roy, could see how quickly his son was improving in the arts, and though he wanted his boy to continue to improve knew that it would be important for him to continue to grow educationally as well.
As such he hired the finest tutors and planned for Roy to attend the finest schools. Yet, no matter how much Lyle tried to get his son to take an interest in education, his son would constantly skip class, going into the woods, and choosing to stay far away from anything other than the woods and the quincy arts. It didn't make him mad, but none the less he had to be stern with Roy, and told him that he would not be able to continue his training unless he got an education. Roy, only eight at the time, agreed to study, and to do as much as he could to learn, just as long as he could continue to train his powers, and become stronger. Lyle, happy to hear his son show some dedication, stepped back, and allowed his son to grow through traditional education and his own personal training.
Roy dedicated himself to his studies, namely history, and his English studies until he was old enough to begin training in the more difficult Quincy Arts. Once the doors to bigger and better techniques opened for him Roy decided to dedicate himself to improving those skills, while also spending some time on his studies as to appease his father. Eventually by the time that Roy had reached thirteen years of age he had picked up acquired the necessary education to move on to public schooling at a high level. Roy, however didn't want to pursue schooling. He instead wanted to follow in the footsteps of his ancestor, Robin Hood. His father was not pleased to hear this news and demanded that he move on to the next level of education. Though, hesitant at first to the prospect of going to school, Roy decided to humor his dad, and give it a shot.
So, Roy attended a local high school, where he quickly found that everything he had learned in his life so far would mean nothing in this environment. He had no friends, as nobody wanted to talk to the strange kid who always went out to the woods after school, and spent most of his time looking off into the distance at the sky. If not for his exceptional grades, Roy would have been nothing more than a grain of sand in the desert. This was of course not of his own design, he wanted to be friends with people, but he always came off a bit awkward. His family was rich so people always tried to act buddy-buddy to him trying to get money out of him or favors. Not that Roy minded, he was happy to just have human interaction.
Eventually Roy actually found some real friends and even a club to be a part of. The club he became a part of did things for the less fortunate and charity work, something that Roy believed a lot in, and during that time he became friends with several of the members. Soon, he began to spend less time practicing in the woods, and more time looking forward to club activities. Yet, he did not forget his one goal, and that was to become the next Robin Hood, a lofty goal, but one none the less that he knew was important to have. So, with that thought in mind, Roy created the persona of the Hood. A cloaked archer who stole from the rich and gave to the needy. As the Hood, Roy felt more like himself than he could ever feel as Roy Patterson. He could fight people who were stomping on the weak and take from the people who were flaunting their wealth and standing haughtily over people they thought were below them and give back to those people who were being trodden on.
It became school wide news that "the hood" was doing all of these things and soon the rate of bullying and perspective of those that treated others poorly quickly shifted. The school was becoming clean and it was all thanks to Roy, yet he would never admit that out loud. He didn't need the credit or the praise, the only thing he wanted was for people to be nice to one another and for the rich to respect the people who were next to them regardless of social class. And for the most part it worked and it stayed that way until Roy graduated from highschool at the age of 17. Now 17 years old, Roy looked at things in a new light. There was a lot of wrong going on in the world, people were dying of starvation while the rich watched, and there was bloody conflicts across several continents with no end in sight. Things needed to be done to make things work out for the better. So, without hesitation Roy decided to work for his father, under the conditions that he could do his own thing.
His father wondering what his son had in mind, quickly learned that Roy was interested in being a humanitarian, and as such it made him proud so he agreed. Roy was put in charge of a small charitable organization underneath his father's conglomerate organization and Roy went to work full heartily in setting the world right.
London is Gone, Master Roy
One year into Roy's new gig as head of a charitable organization had passed since his graduation and many of his friends who had worked with him in high school had joined him in his cause. It was good feeling for Roy and it was one he direly needed. It wasn't easy running an organization with the broad goal of helping the world, but with the friends he had, and the feeling of warmth he felt every time his father came by to tell him to keep it up, he ran it as smoothly as he could. It was on one particular day that Roy and company had left the offices for a meeting with another charity group in India that Roy received the news of the London attack in mid-flight. He was horrified by the news and quickly put Sanders, a close friend of his who he had known for several years, in charge of operations as he went back to London to find out what had happened.
Upon arrival Roy's first thought was of his family who lived in London and he decided it would be best to head to the location of Patterson manor. As he got closer to the manor, the amount of destruction only increased and as the destruction increased so did the feeling of dread that had been creeping up into his heart as he drew closer. Upon arrival he found nothing, but sorrow. His home was gone, his family was no where to be seen, and what remained of the woods that he had spent so much time in during his childhood was simply a charred wasteland. He cried, falling to his knees, as he felt sorrow engulf him. It was several weeks before he learned of his father's and mother's passing. It was even longer before he could put them to rest properly in the traditions of the Quincy people.
Yet, the worst part of the ordeal was how little his siblings cared. They showed up for the ceremony and then afterwards went back to their lives, as if nothing had happened. Roy grew to hate his siblings on that day and as such distanced himself from that part of his family. However, his grandmother, still alive, and well would take him in from the pain of his sorrow and offer him a chance to make things right. Roy, wondering how she could help him make things right, was shown the true power of the Quincy by his grandmother. He spent a good few months in isolation, undergoing the most intense training that he had ever undergone. Roy, to this day remembers the training sessions that nearly ended his life, but yet is still very thankful for the training he was given. During this training, Roy was forced to wear the Gauntlets of the Woods, a pair of Sanrei gloves handed down for the original Robin Hood that he used to train. It was through training with these gloves through his grandmother's methods that Roy became stronger.
Eventually after completing the training Roy would return to the outside world and his grandmother would disappear again. Roy now had a purpose, he would seek out the one who did this all to him, and make her pay with the boons he had received. And on the way he would help people and do what he could as only the Hood could.
New Head of Patterson-Windheim Conglomerate
At only nineteen years of age, Roy Patterson, or Roy Hood as he called himself was named a co-owner of Patterson-Windheim Conglomerate. His father, leaving behind his wealth, and riches to him as he was the only child to truly follow his commands, and remain loyal to his family. This drew a lot of ire from his brother and sister, who though scorned, and angry about the subject could understand why their father had trusted Roy. Roy, now in charge of half of a multi-billion dollar enterprise, now had a great deal of responsibilities, and quickly turned his half of the company into a massively successful organization that focused on helping the world through research. However, behind locked doors Roy had began upgrading his arsenal of tools to help him when the time came.
All the while, Roy continued his Hood activities. Taking from the rich, giving to the poor, and stopping wrong-doings. In essence he was doing what he had sought out to do and that was to become the next Robin Hood. Now, with his eyes set on opening up a new business venture withing Karakura, Roy will have to deal with new threats, and maybe some old threats on his way to his eventual showdown with the person who took his family away from him.

- Human Skills:
Marksman - Ever since Roy was a little boy, he has trained in the woods not only in the Quincy arts, but in the basic principles of combat archery. This is more than just learning how to increase the power of the shots of his bow or the speed of which he can release a shot. It is also about knowing where the best locations are to aim for or what type of cover can conceal one's location in order to have a good sniping location. Roy was trained at an early age on the basic fundamentals by his father and his grandmother taught him of the complexities associated with marksmanship and how important it was to never miss a shot. Roy has taken all of these things to heart and it is easy to see when he fires at his opponents at how effortless he makes it look. Roy was taught the technique "Sunaipu" by his grandmother, which is a style of quincy shooting that relies on longer range attacks. Roy took naturally to this as his Quincy bow is very much in the shape of a Long Bow which was not suited for close range combat.
Keen Eyes - To master the "Sunaipu" style of shooting, one must also have the eyes of hawk so that one can see microscopic openings where attacks will be extremely effective. As such, Roy has extremely good eye sight, probably a genetic trait passed down to him from his forefathers, that he can rely on heavily for sniping and shooting purposes. It is also a boon when it comes to seeing things from far away or in noticing things that others would not be able to pick up on with normal sight. Combine this with the already impressive ability of the Quincy to detect spiritual energy and you can see how this certain trait can be very useful in and out of combat.
Acrobatic - Time spent in the woods training in not only marksmanship and the Quincy Arts, but also in acrobatics has helped increase Roy's mobility by a great deal. Roy's natural acrobatic talents can help him in numerous ways. Like by helping him dodge attacks or by helping him maneuver in and out of buildings when he is trying to steal things as the Hood. All in all, by training in acrobatics, Roy is more capable of defending himself in combat, and escaping from combat.

- Quincy Items:
Specialized Arrows - Roy has left no stone un-turned in hopes of finding ways to enhance his shots for opponents who will not go down with a few simple shots. As such he has poured a great deal of money into a new type of arrow that is made of a specially crafted material that absorbs and enhances spiritual energy. For a Quincy the power of the shot will be increased to an unbelievable level, causing sever damage to the person that it hits. He will only have ten of these on his person at any given time and they usually all fit into the quiver on his hip.
Seele Schneider - The Seele Schneider is a thin sword that can be fired similarly to an arrow. It's much longer than a standard arrow and functions something like a chainsaw: the reishi of its blade vibrate at ultra-high frequencies, loosening the molecular bonds between any spirit matter it cuts so that the Quincy user may easily absorb the freed reishi. Roy is not a swordsman, but he will not hesitate if someone gets into melee range to switch to this weapon.
Gintō - A capsule-shaped tool used by Quincies to store their spiritual energy. It is an antiquated tool, but the use of it allows Quincies to perform certain techniques.
Quincy Cross -
This cross is known as the Azure Dream and has been handed down through the generations of Quincy that were born into the Patterson/Hood family. It glows an eerie blue and is made of an unknown material that can't be identified by normal modern means. However, it is a focusing tool for Roy's spiritual energy so that he can make his bow, and is an extremely useful tool with a great deal of nostalgia to it.
- Sanrei Glove:
This Sanrei Glove is known as the Gauntlet of the Woods and is a powerful glove that Robin Hood wore back in the Dark Ages. It is made of a special metal that can be used to block sacred level weapons which gives it more practical use than helping in the mere increase of power of shots.
- Other Skills:
Heilig Pfeil - The primary attack used by Quincy. It is basically the same as an average arrow, but if the arrows are shot continuously they will eventually injure the wielders hands. The arrows can be created by collecting Reishi, absorbing Reiryoku from an opponent or gathering spirit energy, giving the Quincy many ways to form their bow and arrow. The power of the arrows vary in power and size, while some arrows are more powerful than others, for every quincy it is different, and normally comes down to skill, since the total amount of Arrow’s fired also showcases the amount of skill, while those who use only a few arrows at a time have more of a impact than others. Depending on what one spirit weapon is, the Arrow shape can change, as if one was a blade, then the arrows fired would appear as blades. Due to the nature of Roy's style of shooting, Roy's arrows are usually long arrows that pack a huge punch when fired.
Path Control - Being able to control the pathing of the shot that is being taken greatly increases the effectiveness of shooting in general. As such Roy has practiced and trained hard to do this sort of thing in order to prevent missing after shooting from long distances.
Negation of Attacks - If a quincy can use these arrows precisely, they can to a point they can negate another attack on impact. To do this, the charges the arrows with a sufficient amount of power, and fires them to strike an incoming projectile. However because of morden Quincy style’s, this use has fallen out of use, however a few old style Quincy still use this a thump. Roy was trained by an older Quincy who had perfected this style of combat. Roy doesn't have a natural knack for it, but none the less is still capable of doing it in a pinch if necessary.
Spiritual Awareness - As a spiritual being, the Quincy can sense Hollows and other spiritual beings at a significant distance or tell in what direction they are in. Quincy are well known to sense the distance to any Hollow, and capable of telling how much spiritual power a person has from a simple glance, making them living radars. Only a small handful of beings are capable of not being able to appear to a Quincy. Still a work in progress by all means, but none the less is something that Roy can do. It is especially useful in leading the target into a shot by using it with his keen eyes to see movement that is visible and using the awareness to try and predict movements.
Hirenkyaku - An advanced Quincy moving technique. It allows for high speed movements by riding on the flow of reishi created below the user's feet. To perform the technique, the user gathers spiritual particles under their feet and rides them to the desired location. Like the air-walking skill displayed by most Arrancar and Shinigami, it can also be used to hover or fly for long distances. Depending on one skill with it, can show how long they can use this before tiring out. Hirenkyaku was taught to Roy when he was older, so he has not had enough time to formally utilize it in a combat situation. Still it is a technique he can draw on if need be and though he hasn't practiced it enough to be considered an expert at it, he can still use it when the time calls for it.
Einweben - As suggested by its name, Einweben is a binding Gintō technique. It creates a large, man-sized energy web that is useful for either trapping or deterring an opponent. It is activated by the command "The silver strands bind you to your place, Einweben." This technique can either be used up close or by throwing the Gintō at the opponent. Einweben was taught very thoroughly to Roy as it is necessary for a Sniper to be able to trap his pray so that they can not easily dodge an attack. As such Roy has a certain specialty when it comes to this specific Gintō technique as he can perform it almost by second nature.
Heizen - Heizen instantly gouges and purges whatever is enclosed in the space within the four tossed gintōs. It is tremendously effective even against Menos Grandes. This technique creates a transparent, rectangular beam of energy from the silver tubes which then slices through the opponent. It is activated by the command: "Feel the wrath of battle and accept this sacred chalice - Heizen!" He was taught this technique by his Grandmother as a last ditch resort if all else is failing.
Specialized Techniques
Sunaipu Stance - Sunaipu stance increases the range of shots that Roy makes by an impressive amount while also increasing the damage output of the shots he can make. This is due to the way the stance helps increase the flow of spiritual energy through out the arm that creates the arrow. The bow's spiritual energy is accelerated along with the flow of spiritual energy through the arm, granting more spiritual energy to the arrow being formed, while also increasing the speed of the shot when it is fired from the bow. Due to the increase in speed, the velocity of the arrow causes a more painful impact while also increasing the distance that the shot will go.
Also while in this stance, the arrows form quicker, but require more spiritual energy. This is because of the circulation of energy through the arm being drastically increased and the requirement of making a unique arrow that can withstand the accelerated bow's energy when the shot is being fired. There are other drawbacks, such as only being able to form a single arrow at a time, thus making it impossible to shoot multiple arrows at once while in this stance, and the impracticality of the stance in close quarters. However, for sniping it is extremely useful in a multitude of ways when it comes down to arrow creation and increasing the range and power of shots. This stance can be deactivated and switched back to a normal firing stance after activation.
Reishi Grenade - By gathering spiritual energy into the palm of his hand, Roy can throw a powerfully condensed ball of reishi at his opponent which explodes on contact with any force or solid matter. The explosion of the grenade does not cause damage, but causes disorientation as it sends out a bright flash that blinds the opponent for a few moments. This flash is created by the contact of this tightly formed reishi with an outside substance, upon contact with that substance the reishi ignites, exploding in a dazzling white flash. This flash is not just a dazzling effect, but also creates enough spiritual pressure in a temporary location to cause a deterring effect. This effect, similar to when a detonation occurs under water, sends out a shockwave that causes inverse effects on some spiritual techniques. These inverse effects can either cause premature explosions, dissipation of an attack, or a complete redirection of the attack.
The flash is blinding, causing disorientation, and temporary blindness on a minor scale. At most this effect will last for a few moments and only if the opponent is looking at the place of impact. Though this is still plenty of time to re-conceal one's self and prepare to snipe from afar. The grenade also has another use as upon explosion it releases a high amount of compacted reishi which can shred through some types of spiritual attacks.
Helios' Bane - Roy specializes in long range shooting and Helios' Bane is just another one of those long range attacks that can cause quite a bit of damage. The arrow summoned when using this technique is extremely large and usually is used from above the target and is shot down at the target. However, this technique can be used from ground level as well. The arrow of this attack is made of super heated spiritual energy and upon being touched by anyone, but the shooter will burn the target severely, as if they had just touched the sun. Upon getting shot with this arrow, the arrow instantly cauterizes the wound causing more pain, and then explodes causing massive damage. An opponent not hit by the arrow will find the explosion of the arrow painful if not enough distance has been covered to escape the radius of the explosion. The radius of the explosion is roughly twenty meters and not only can cause severe burns if in the location of the explosion, but can also knock people off their feet if the person is anywhere near the explosion.
The explosion radius can be increased by charging the shot up, but the explosion can be no greater than forty meters.
Multi Shot - One of the few quick techniques in Roy's arsenal is the Multi-Shot technique. This technique requires quite a bit of focus as it requires managing the Hirenkyaku technique and also utilizing the senses to judge distances and locations of opponents. The main purpose of this technique is to make use of the high speed of Hirenkyaku and the natural gifts of Roy's keen eyes. This technique allows for Roy to hit from multiple vantage points in quick succession, creating a hail of arrows from multiple locations. Not only does this effect do some damage to those unprepared for this sort of assault, but it also can be disorienting trying to keep up with the high speed of movement that is being put on display.
This technique is taxing though and has range limitations due to the nature of how many shots have to be taken and how many time the Hirenkyaku has to be used in rapid succession. This technique can't be used with the Sunaipu stance, which limits the power of the arrows being shot, and the range that they can be fired even more. Yet this move can be used in tandem with several other techniques, such as Wind Walking to create more vantage points, or Shadow Sneak to create devastating surprise shots from unknown locations.
Go Boom! - A technique that was created by Roy at an early age to help him catch his father by surprise during a specific training session in the woods. The basic principle of this technique is to fire a shot and then have that arrow explode into hundreds of needle like arrows that can cover an area in a cone, sort of like a shotgun shot. This is all due in part to making the arrow faulty on purpose. This may seem like it would be deprimental to firing the shot, but the basic form of the arrow is not effected, instead Roy purposefully makes the outside energy that comprises the arrow to be weaker than the interior energy that comprises the core power of the shot. The effect is an arrow that can be shot a decent distance, but then as the energy holding the core energy together shatters due to wind resistance and travel distance, the core energy shatters sending out hundreds of smaller arrows or "needles" at the target.
The range of this shot can be increased by simply increasing the density of the arrow's outer energy when it is formed. The damage is very similar to being shot with a shotgun at point blank if the arrow manages to get anywhere close to you. If the arrow manages to impale a target before it explodes, the arrow will explode once it has entered the flesh, sending out hundreds of needle like arrows throughout the skin and organs of the impact area, causing unbelievable amounts of pain.
Wind Walking - Valen Patterson created a technique that utilizes the spiritual energy of the air around one's self to slow descents while falling and even temporarily grant flight. Wind Walking was taught to Roy through his father and was one of the few techniques that Roy learned rather rapidly once it became available to him. The technique itself has a lot of practical uses as it can be used in tandem with his acrobatics to perform impressive dodges that are not possible by most Quincy or other beings. A true master of Wind Walking can use the air around him to buffer himself from impacts and can increase the velocity of his shots to even higher plains by utilizing the technique.
Shadow Sneak - A technique passed down from Robin Hood himself, it is a technique that can bend spiritual energy around the target creating a field of invisibility for a small amount of time. It is detectable by those with high spiritual awareness, but it is still hard to pin-point the exact location of the target during this technique. This technique's uses are vast and wide which is what makes Shadow Sneak the perfect tool for re-positioning one's self for a better vantage for an attack or to escape from combat.

- Type: Longbow
- Appearance:
Roy's bow, Treffsicherheit, is a bow that is made for long range combat. It is a beautiful bow that has two glowing ends to it, the ends glow due to the reishi particles that have condensed in these specific parts being translucent, revealing the color of the reishi used to make the bow. The bow itself is impressive, it is a larger bow, and is not quite as mobile as other types of bows, but it still capable of making impressive shots. Sometimes Roy wishes his bow were smaller as so he could use it more practically in combat, but none the less he is happy to have this particular bow at his beck and call.
