Who Better To Light A Fire...
Fri May 02, 2014 12:17 am
Augustine had never dealt with loss before, so when he lost his Grandfather it was a tough blow. At first he did not have anything, but sadness. He wallowed in his loneliness and drank himself into a haze at every chance he got. For weeks he felt this pain which was worse than any other he had felt upon the field of battle, but when it came down to it all he wanted was his Grandfather back.
His Grandfather was the one he was closest to for the majority of his life and even though they had a rough start they grew close. His Grandfather was one of the weirdest people you could meet on the outside, but on the inside he was a man with courage like a lion and a heart of gold which loved all friends and family and was kind to all. He was the man who Augustine wanted to be like, but when his Grandfather made the decision to leave it all to Augustine and pass on it may have left him at a point where he couldn't do it alone. At first at least.
After weeks of mourning he had finally ran out of liquor and decided it was time to leave. The first thing he did was to visit his parents whom he hadn't seen in over a decade, but only a week after that he left. He had a specific mission that he had spent his entire life training for. He had a list of people and their locations. Each of which was hand picked by Augustine's Grandfather in order to be one of his Scuni Benedetti. So he took up his trademarked black suit with a white button up, a red tie, a thin white silk like scarf and a old mafia style hat, and began with the first name on the list. Where he'd go? Karakura City.
Boarding the plane he found it interesting how people reacted to him. His Grandfather had taught him about the age old secret of being a gentleman of class, kindness and of likability. Though he still had the over energetic, goofy and childish person underneath he was forced to bottle that so that he could always represent his Family and Mafia. Until the day he found his companions he remained the man his Grandfather made him to be.
The plane ride was short compared to the years of training so he happily watched the outside world as he flew across continents to his location. Finally arriving he leisurely walked through this city which was new to him and enjoyed the things only someone who had been living under a rock would notice. Which pretty much sums up his life. The amazing technology that the town exhibited along with the unique people and buildings he could not help for a few moments, but look like a kid in a candy store. It was all new to him and he loved every second of it, but he could not hold from his mission for much longer, because he was now closer than ever to beginning his life long mission. Seeing as it was early afternoon and one of the locations which his first potential ally was a school he decided to make a big entrance. There was a small profile in the database on each person on his list and out of the few things on the profile one of which was this guy wasn't easily motivated. So he had to light a fire under his ass.
Arriving at his target's school Augustine stood outside of the front gates and thought for a moment on how he would catch this person's attention. After a few moments he decided radical was the best in this situation. He took his right hand and clenched his fist creating a ball of fire in the front of his fingers and into the ground with giant 20 foot letters he wrote the full name of the one he was looking for and finished with a giant fireball to the sky which lit up the area all around and caused a massive explosion.
The name that was written into the ground was "Akiyoku Gozen"

His plan worked. Though it was a bit over the top it was exactly what they needed in order to catch the attention of the one whom he had been looking for. His first potential companion, and the worst part about it was that he hadn't made a new friend in over a decade. Even though his Grandfather had given him many lessons in etiquette, Mafia mannerism and overall gentleman like behavior he had no idea what to do in this situation. It wasn't that his Grandfathers teachings weren't enough in most situations it was that he now needed to do something that his Grandfather told him would come naturally with who he was. So all he could to is whatever came natural. Though he had never been addressed telepathically he had experienced it within his years of training and though it wasn't foreign to him he had never seen a human with the abilities so he found it interesting. From all this all he could do was whatever came instinctively.
Augustine looked into the boys eyes and noticed the piercing gaze which though didn't phase him it did surprise him seeing as his Grandfather would give him one right before disciplining him. Without any other delay with the thumb and pointer finger of his right hand he took the tip of his hat and put it over his heart while bowing slightly towards Akiyoku.
"Hello Akiyoku my name is Augustine Zanna. It is an honor to meet you!"
Though normally he wasn't this formal at least not truly he had to see how he would react. Something his Grandfather had always taught him was that a first impression was only the first of the most important part. Next was how you followed it. So Augustine rose up and flipped his hat back on his head and realized as he had seen the boy he hadn't moved a muscle. In fact other than his eyes he looked like nothing impressed him, nothing challenged him and nothing effected him. It wasn't that he wasn't able it was that he wasn't challenged it seemed. Augustine had an intuition that was unrivaled thus far. It was time for the follow up. If he did not come out swinging he might not ever be able to welcome his first companion. With a slight smile on his face he flipped both of his palms and created two fireballs each the size of about a half a foot. He then shot each one a few feet to his left and right and when they hit a massive column of fire shot up from the ground.
"I can see it in your eyes. The lack of fulfillment and the lack of purpose. JOIN ME AND WE WILL FILL YOUR LIFE. WE AS SCUNI BENEDETTI WILL LIVE FOR EACH DAY AND WILL DO WHAT WE WANT TO PROTECT, SURVIVE AND PROSPER!"
It may have been a bit flashy and forward, but he knew he only had a few shots before the young man was lost. He would not allow that to happen. Whatever Augustine could do he would so that he could gain his first ally.

Augustine smiled. He never meant for it to be an attack, but never the less the young man took it excellently. Realizing the kind of damage he had caused to the area it probably was a good idea for him not to anymore so all he had left to do was repeat his question. This time straight forward and to the point was the only way he could. He knew for sure now that he wanted this young man as a comrade, so with that in mind he extended his hand out and repeated what he had said previously.
"Join me and we will forge a life that will give you the freedom to always feel this feeling right now."
He knew this is what he wanted. This life was like a cage which held him in from his true potential and from his true purpose. Augustine knew that he could back up what he offered, because he would never offer something he couldn't give. Life was meant to live to the fullest and it was a crime for Akiyoku's potential and life to be wasted as it was. He could do so much more all he needed was to join.
This moment was one that any would laugh at and they probably would if he decided to join him, but it was all he could do. He needed this ally and was planning on doing whatever it took to not only become allies but to forge a lifestyle that would never allow him to be bored or to cage in his potential ever again

Being flown into the air he found it exciting, because he had always loved to fly, but even more so that he was one step closer to recruiting his first brother in arms. He willingly allowed the boy to move him, but the best part of it was that he was definitely considering Augustine's proposal all that was needed in order to finish was something to make him want to come. A show of strength that would allow him to accept the request that was set before him. Something like this was exactly what Augustine was good at.
Without any delay once the challenged was issued Augustine let go of his hand and using constant bursts of fire from his hands and feet he spun himself around into a upwards position. With his feet the only things now balancing with the constant bursts of fire a generous amount of it that was generated from both hand began compressing into a single spear with a large spear head. Augustine was pumping out a large and constant rate into the spear and as he did it began to glow bright like the sun. After a minute straight he grabbed the spear and pulled it back behind his right shoulder. Right before he made his next move he looked over at Akiyoku and only had this to say
"Challenge accepted!"
Then with a extremely swift and strong launching motion combined with a propulsion from the bottom of the spear shaft he launched it into the sky and in a literal blink of an eye it traveled thousands of feet in the air and after a few seconds of that it only seemed to be a bright star in the distance, but in that moment of soft breeze and silent expectation it exploded in a cataclysmic nature.creating such a large effect area that it could have decimated a small town. The blow back and sound was thunderous and powerful, but as it dissipated fire remained where his right hand was extended and in the air for a few moments two words were written out.
"JOIN ME"
Releasing his control he dropped his hand and turned to witness the reaction of his strength. There was no way he was going to attack him with that, but his challenge was to show his worth. If he desired battle after that Augustine would be more than happy to oblige, but he would not hold back. He would not pull a punch and he would not stop until the message he wanted to get across was made. He was not hostile, but ready, and hopeful for his yes.
