Sighs of relief could be heard as the sun escaped the clutches of the large mass of clouds that kept any and all warmth from reaching the city. Downtown was populated today for some reason or another and the suns position in the sky being exactly above the city would tell you the reason why. It was lunch time, people were hungry and were taking their afternoon breaks from their jobs. The day was Sunday and Hype couldn't help but leave his apartment just blocks away to try and get some ramen before the large wave of business people made their way to the streets. However, it was just his luck that he would find himself face to face with a spirit that was in some sort of distress, and take up two hours of his time.
He sometimes resented the fact that he was able to see them, as it was a rare sight that he would come across one that was in a good mood. Then again, he couldn't really put himself in their shoes as he had never died, and didn't plan to. Not yet, at least. He had dreams that he wanted to fulfill before then. At the very least he wanted to graduated primary school, as for the rest of his life he wasn't stuck between a few paths. He didn't really dwell on it, however, as he was more interested in learning more about his new found abilities. It irked him how any and every time he was able to sense a hollow in his vicinty another entity would make their presence known as well just before the hollow's vanished. Where were these people back when he was being attacked? He was all alone then, and even now if a strong enough hollow approached him he didn't know if someone would come to his aid.
He presented no spiritual pressure but just the minuet amount that emitted from him being able to sense them. His abilities were something that had been nested in his brain from birth and through a rare situation he was able to discover them. His abilities relied completely on that of proper frequencies which were sent directly to his brain from his noise-canceling, sealed to his skull, headphones. Most people didn't understand why he wore them all the time if he was deaf, but he never felt the need to explain himself to anyone. If they so happened to find out the reason he wouldn't mind in enlightening them, but until then it was frankly none of their business. His relations with peers were typically good, but it wasn't as though he wanted to put himself up on a pedistool because he had some ability that he could barely even manage. His abilities were completely new to him, and if someone was to ask him to present the powers to them on the spot he'd most likely screw things up and make a fool of himself, which wasn't something the intended on doing. He took pride in the reputation he had obtained over time in high school, and wasn't going to let his harlequin-like antics get in the way of diminishing that.
Getting closer to his destination he was able to see from a block away that the ramen stand was jam-packed. His hands were placed behind his head as he walked gallantly on the side walk, his body pivoted as he tried to avoid his elbows, that jetted out from each side of his head, from striking anyone upon the skull or even their chest if they were tall enough. His eyes stood uninterested in the sight ahead, but his stomach wanted him to continue walking. He let out a soft sigh before letting his arms simply flap their way down to his sides in a lackadaisical fashion, his head slightly dropping in disdain of the ramen shop. He had been craving the ramen that came from this place for quite sometime and though it was ill-minded for him to think this. He wanted a hollow to appear right about now and clear these people out. He knew he wouldn't get his way, though, because that wasn't how things played out for him. Things were never in his favor, yet he had always done things in others favor. He didn't really believe in anything like karma, but he sure did wish it were true...
Soon he reached the large crowd that surrounded the exterior of the shop, he looked around and saw many of the faces ahead of him to be highly agitated with the wait. They all checked their watches one after the other as it transitioned like a never ending wave down the line. This was why he never wore a watch, he simply gauged time through the position of the sun, though he never knew if he was accurate or correct. He had a phone at one point, but he decided to not use that, as it was rather useless that he was only able to text message someone rather have a conversation with them. Once again he let out a sigh.
"How unlucky of me to get stuck in such a line... They always seem to pick the best times."
By they he meant several things, those that were ahead of him in line and the spirits that seemed to always be extremely needy. He didn't mind helping them, it just always seemed to weigh into his own time and not the time that spent sitting around his house reading manga or playing video games. Either way, he'd continue helping them whether it impeached on his own fun or not, as well as his own hunger. However, he didn't know how much longer he could take standing in the line for. Throwing his arms back and leaning back to a small degree he let his head fall with gravity as he gold hair followed. He released a grueling grunt of hunger as his stomach agreed and joined him in the cry for help.
"So...hungry..."
