Name: Kurobara
Number: Sixty-Two
Type: Hado
Range: Short-mid
Incantation: From the abyss of demise, I conjure a single rose. The feathers from heaven weep as the thorns descend. Petals on the breeze, lily on the lake. As the pollen scatters, so shall your soul.
Description: From the five fingers on Kurokotsu’s right hand come pitch-black rose petals. Coming together in the middle of his chest like a star, they all form a single rosebud. This Kido moves very slowly, each of the petals moving farther from the rest as it continues movement. If a foe can at least walk at the pace of a normal human, they can forever outrun this technique. The power comes from the spreading of the petals, for it becomes harder to avoid as it grows in size. Starting out at the size of a baseball, after five posts, when it vanishes, it will be a hundred feet across. Each of these petals explode on contact, or upon receiving the command ‘Scatter’ from Kurokotsu.
Name: Shirobara
Number: Eight
Type: Hado
Range: Long
Incantation: Pure as the snow, but tainted by hatred. Come to me from the pits of hell and fly true, sacred rose.
Description: From the five fingers on Kurokotsu’s left hand come pure, untainted white rose petals. These petals all come together in the palm of Kurokotsu’s hand, attached to a small stem made out of pure reishi. Unlike most kido, this one can be held back, due to its unmoving nature. It will only fly forward when directed to, by use of the command ‘Whirl’. When this is done, it will fly toward the foe at speed comparable to a Shakkaho. When it reaches the foe, the petals spread apart, one to each arm, leg, or head. This technique is relatively weak by itself, only doing around as much damage as a Byakurai. The true power comes in when it is used on someone bound by Bakudo. Due to the interaction between Kurokotsu’s Bakudo and this spell, Shirobara drains the remaining energy from any spell the foe is under, using that strength to increase its power by 25%. It can only increase in power like this twice per cast, but is cut in half if Eishohaki is used. Each of these petals explode on contact, or upon receiving the command ‘Scatter’ from Kurokotsu.
Name: Ginbara
Number: Thirty-Four
Type: Hado
Range: Short
Incantation: Specter of the roses, cry out in desperation. Your children weep for the peace they know is lost. Let their anger be your guide.
Description: From each of Kurokotsu’s fingers come ten gray rose petals. Unlike in Kurobara and Shirobara where they form a full rose, they stay separated. Seemingly randomly, these hundred rose petals fly around Kurokotsu, never straying more than five feet from his core. Although they look like a barrier, they serve to attack anybody who tries to get too close to Kurokotsu. As a further deterrent, they will explode when Kurokotsu gives the command ‘Scatter’. This causes all of the petals to explode outward at once. Due to the directional force, they cause no harm to Kurokotsu.
