Who are They?
Akatsuki (暁; Literally meaning "Dawn" or "Daybreak") is a criminal organisation comprised of high ranking warriors of all descents and species, and is the most wanted group in all of the spiritual world. Akatsuki at any given time is composed of no more than ten primary members, all of whom were powerful criminals/warriors/members of their own respective countries/species/organizations. Members always work in groups of two, and these groups are made up of members who's abilities compliment each others. Team members must function very well or at least to accomplish their task even though they have a mutual problems with each other. The organisation is rarely fully assembled, and their last full reunion took place over a decade ago. Akatsuki is widespread, spanning several countries with agents in various places, realms, and even organizations. The founder of the group, and current leader, Nagato, created the Akatsuki to be a mercenary group who worked for the highest bidder, however he has his own ideas for the group, and is more than willing to enforce these ideas onto the goals of the Akatsuki. The Akatsuki are so secretive, that the names of the members has yet to be discovered by a single person alive, which means even Gotei 13 members can possibly be in this group without worry of losing their rank.

However, the Akatsuki has changed somewhat since the. The Doctor, Kabuto Hebi, has slain Nagato, ending his existence and taking his place. Until further notice, he is running the Akatsuki, just as he was supposed to have been doing all along. At the moment, the goal of the Akatsuki is to do anything that they can in the way of mercenary work in order to gather more information and resources. Literally, the Doctor's only wish for the other member is that they are able to obtain what they desire through work.

Goals
The Akatsuki don't have a definitive goal right now (or at least none that anybody has discovered), and as such keeps to acting as a highest-bidder type mercenary group.

Benefits: Some benefits to joining include protection. If you join as a numbered member you will always have a powerful partner to lend you aid in even the most dire of situations. The Akatsuki also look out for their own, despite who you are. If you are in trouble, you can expect assistance from the infamous group. Hell, if you get in trouble seriously enough, Nagato my even dispatch one of the senior members to save you or even go himself in the worse case scenario. Another benefit is money. The Akatsuki organization works for the highest bidder, which means they always have plenty of cash to help out members. Do you REALLY want that laser rifle? Or how about that cloaking device? Or even that giant Mecha suit? Well, you might just be covered by the Akatsuki. Oh, and you don't even have to pay for health care premiums!

Members and Groups
The member system is based on the number of the member, and how it relates to another member; 0 and 9 are together, 8 and 7 are together, 5 and 6 are together, etc, etc. It is not based on power, so 9 isn't necessarily more powerful than 6, it all depends on the specific members. The requirements for being a member aren't very specific: Be talented in some way (such as good spy, good fighter, etc) and be at least relatively powerful as this group is made up of strong criminals and other noteworthy people. Being in an organization like the Gotei 13 or Monsuta does not mean you cannot be in the Akatsuki at the same time. When filling out the template, keep in mind the abilities of the other member in the group you wish to join. The Akatsuki soldiers are like the army for the Akatsuki; join if you want to fight for the cause, but are not yet ready/do not want a Team position.
