Upgrades/Edits for Ravana
Mon Oct 07, 2013 4:44 pm
So yeah, this is just a little something I've been meaning to do; basically I have two new abilities that I am going to be adding to Ravana's Shikai to replace some of his current ones. Seeing as for a while now his base power has far outclassed his Shikai abilities I just wanted to make something that was more useful to him. The two abilities I am going to add are as follows:
Spatial Break: A rather interesting ability granted Ravana in his Shikai, “Spatial Break” is an interesting utility move that takes full advantage of Iku-sen Kireme’s spatial manipulation. To use this ability, Ravana must actually strike his opponent with his Zanpakutō, and not any of its other slashes but his main, held Zanpakutō itself. While this may sound a little odd, as all of the slashes are Ravana’s actual held Zanpakutō, because this ability is being powered by Iku-sen Kireme, the difference can be known to her. So, once this ability is actually activated and an opponent is hit by Ravana’s Zanpakutō, its true usage is revealed; for the next one to two seconds, the opponent will have the space that they occupy be “broken”, meaning that they are unable to actually move out of it. To put it simply, for the next few seconds, while the opponent is fully and cognitively aware, they cannot actually move out of the space that they are currently occupying; not even with a movement ability. While this ability may only last for a short amount of time, it can almost always guarantee Ravana a “free hit” on his next attack; so long as he actually takes advantage of the short window of time. This ability can only be used once per post, and only a successful hit will trigger it; it does not take effect if the attack is blocked.
Reality Crush: One of Ravana’s Shikai techniques, “Reality Crush” is the only one of his Shikai abilities that is able to access Iku-sen Kireme’s reality aspect. As such, this ability is not as powerful as any of his Bankai attacks, but is a very useful utility move in his arsenal. The actual effect of this ability is rather simple; Ravana will effectively “crush” a small portion of reality to harm anything within the target range. Though this would technically fall under the classification of “reality modification”, the actual modification is not applied upon the opponent; but instead upon the space that they occupy. To put it simply, Ravana will make the space which his opponent is occupying harmful to them; essentially forcing the space to attack his opponent. The actual strength of this ability all depends on the concentration of spiritual energy of any kind within the space he is modifying reality, and not upon an opponent’s strength or how much energy Ravana puts into this move. While this does make the power of this move difficult to gauge, the simplicity of the actual ability makes it very useful even if it would not cause too much damage, as it would still work to deter an opponent. Of course, should he wish to make the move slightly stronger, there is one trick that Ravana can employ. Before activating this ability, Ravana can first fire off a kido spell at the opponent; either Hadō or bakudo will do. Should he chose to do this, the actual energy of the kido spell will be added onto the energy of the area in which he is using Reality Crush, causing the ability to be significantly stronger. Of course, seeing as the energy from the kido is added to Reality Crush, the actual kido spell disappears as soon as this ability is used. Similarly, Ravana can also use the energy of any other energy attack to help strengthen Reality Crush, though it will have the same effect of getting rid of said energy attack (even if it is an opponent’s). However, while this can be an easy method in theory, because the actual range of Reality Crush is pretty limited (being able to only hit one opponent per usage) any energy attack used to power it up must be very close to the target already. To use this ability, Ravana simply must raise one of his hands (usually his left as he predominately wields his Zanpakutō with his right) and call out the name of the ability. Though the ability is not very draining on its own, because it is affecting reality, it can only be used once per post with a one post cooldown.
And these two abilities shall be replacing Ravana's Iru and Burēdo abilities.
