Involving skills....
Thu Jan 31, 2013 5:33 pm
I'm slacking on my character, I admit. The form hasn't been edited for a few days. I was just wondering a few things;
This is about skills;
Not that the rules allow OP beginning characters, but I HATE starting off with characters that have even the closest to power, but I saw with the skills thing, I THINK, it said once you register your skills, it's pretty much set in stone. So, what I'm wondering, is if I can start off with a lack in skills(like an extremely weak Shinigami), and over the months, I RP my leveling up with skills? Or if the Skill Set I chose, if it was weak, would I be stuck that way for a LONG time?

No... it is not set in stone. You need to reread the rules, because you can train or simply participate in topics which you can submit for power upgrades, and that includes skill increases. Generally finishing two or three decent-sized threads can earn at least a bump up in the skill of your choice, though it gets harder the higher you go.

A lot of people here start out as low weaker characters and work their way up to create stronger characters. i currently have a shinigami that is 4 -5 and i have done quite of few threads with him so i could apply for an upgrade in some skills or something to make my shinigami become stronger.
this is the upgrade template for the site when posting in the character upgrade board which is used when asking for an upgrade

also take a look at these in case you havent already

these even if you read them might be a good idea to go around and reread them. also what phan said before is true.

The skills are upgraded over time by RPing this will help you gain more character background and story as you go. But another way is of the month or year if you win events in them. This is the method to upgrading your skills honestly. But the Roleplaying way gives the character a better depth and growth that most people wouldn't see to often. Now the way to do that is simple ask around for RPs and alot of times people will be jumping for one. If you have questions about anything else just PM me.

«ARCHIVING THIS STUFF HERE»
M'kay, with him being more informed of how the skill structure on this site appears to work, I'm going to label this as resolved and move it into the Old Cases board to be archived unless he makes another post stating he needs further assistance with this case.
