Cero training

Landen sat on the padded floor in the training room, Azai was propped up on the wall behind him since he wouldn't be using her for this. His legs were crossed, the left over the right and his hands rested upon his knees. He exhaled quietly and began to focus on his inner power. His brow creased as he lifted his hands and began to focus his power there, thinking of sparks in his mind, thinking of the sparks catching gas, thinking of the flame not harming him, thinking of it balled up and floating in his hands....

His hands tingled as he opened his eyes and the cero rocketed of at the wall. "Damn it!" He yelled at himself for letting his control slip. Sure he can use a cero, sure he was no beginner, but he was in no means a master! He closed his eyes once more and this time time he thought of a tempest, thought of it right over him with his hands cupped open, thought of lightning striking his hands ad staying right there. He again felt the tingle and heard a crackling but this time he kept his eyes closed and thought harder to maintain focus, this time he let it swell in his hands before closing his mind around it and opening his eyes.

In his hands rested a sphere of pure energy, it snapped and popped. A gleam came to Landen's eyes as he stood with the cero in his hands. It was pure lightning, created from his mind's storm. It wasn't until he stood that he realized how taxing the creation of this cero had been. He wobbled slightly and his vision dimmed making his cero begin to loosen a bit and sparks fly off. He frowned as he focused on the cero forcing it back into shape. Now for the hard part, he was going to take his body to it's limit, right to the threshold!

He closed his eyes again and began to think of his energy pouring into the cero, not without forgetting his focus though. His eyes snapped open as he decided it would be better to master this under a little more pressure. The cero grew in size, from baseball to basketball. The affect was instant. His legs shook and lights danced in his eyes hinting of fatigue, he knew he needed to rest but he couldn't he must carry on with this. I MUST GET BETTER! he thought as he maintained the hold on the cero.

Landen slowly moved his right hand away, keeping the cero in his left solely. This was what he was practicing for, well at least part of what he was working for. The whole would be better, much more effective! Now was the time for part two, not forgetting his left hand he looked onto his right and thought rapidly of the tempest striking that hand, he was going to make another cero. This will work! It has too! He yelled in his mind with gusto. The energy crackled and swelled in his hand, swirling in on itself, taking shape, becoming round.

It was working and he was forgetting how taxing it was in his moment of excitement. The cero grew to the same size as the first, the two amplifying Landen's shadow behind him. They cero's let out chirps like birds due to the energy snapping inside them, letting of minute flares. sweat pooled on Landen's brow as his arms began to shake slightly. His body warning him once more of its limits. But he reused to listen, the only way to grow was to over do one's self in his mind!

Landen groaned slightly as he shut out his body's warnings. Now was the time to advance, not to stay stagnant. His arms felt like lead now ad his legs the same, moving forward was a feat in and of itself alone, lifting his arms another. But that didn't matter, not now! What did matter was the final push, the merging. His glazed eyes reflected the light perfectly as his hands slowly closed in on each other, the cero's collided and reused to merge. They pushed off of each other like two same sides of a magnet.

They would bend to his will though, he grunted as he forced more energy into them and pushed his hands closer together, the cero's slightly merged looking much like two plastic balls melted together. But it wasn't enough, not by any means enough. He kept struggling to push them together as a thought hit him but he knew he couldn't act upon it yet. Not until he was stronger. With one more grunt the ceros merged together into one over charged missile. bringing his arms up over his head Landen smiled and let his hands fly froward, throwing the cero like a dodgeball as it rocketed through the air ad blasted into the wall, shattering mirrors and blasting a black mark across the wall's surface. A support beam groaned, but it held. The same couldn't be said of Landen's legs as he crumpled down to put wind back in his sails.

He sat there on the floor as a new idea came to him. Why not have a cero that lets off mini ceros from itself? Like a Bouncing Betty! This would take time just for Landen wrap his mind around it. so he kept sitting on the padded floor as he tried thinking of ways the cero could form this way. His first thought was a grenade inside a grenade but then he thought of how one mishap in the energy formation stage could force the inner cero to explode causing the outer to follow suit and harm people who weren't to be harmed.

But what if he had the ceros combine with each other like chain mail then split and fly off like arrows at different targets?! This would be a tad easier to form. Thinking the could combine like an infinity symbol then split and head to different locations. This would work well for multiple enemies.

Time to try! He sat Indian style on the floor with his left hand out, palm up. He thought of energy flowing through a circuit and re-doubling on itself to create the sideways eight. Sparks danced on his finger tips as energy pooled, a soft humming coming from his palm as the energy began to line up and spin in two twin circles in his hand. Them joining and turning to spheres. His eyes lit up as he watched them take shape.....

The next thing he knew he was against the back wall with soot on his shirt, his control had lessened at the wrong time and the ceros exploded off of each other in his hand. This would take practice..... Sadly.

Landen scowled at his hand, almost as if he was mad at it yet it had been his lack of focus, not his limb, that caused the explosion. "We'll go again" He mumbled to himself as Azai throbbed next to him. She was laughing at him damn it! Now he had something to prove, his own Zanpakutō was laughing at his failure. Whatever he thought pointedly towards her as he stood up and brushed himself off. Today was going to be a long and painful one, this much was clear.

He stood now, not moving, only putting his left hand out with his palm up once more, and began to think of the sideways eight as the energy hummed once more and circled itself closing the circuit. Now to make the circles gain volume and become spheres, two interlocking spheres. Easy right? Sorta not. He exhaled slowly as he closed his eyes and though of two umbrellas opening next to each other and then mirrored underneath from a puddle, these twin umbrellas helped to turn the circles to spheres. Sparks shot out like a warning sign and this time he saw it. But not before he was knocked to his ass from the explosion.

Landen almost roared in rage while Azai roared in laughter. This was just pure funny to her, why does he need or want the cero when he has trusty steel? Landen had heard her think it into his mind many times, many times indeed. But now he wouldn't respond, now he'd stand back up and try once more to create the ceros. The first two stages coming easily now that he'd done them both before. Once more the sparks flew in warning and he was ready. right as they came forth he split the ceros for a moment as they reached their peak power, now only to recombine them.

He had an idea, why not have one open like the latch on a locket, the part that combines the necklace. It should work. He made the cero closest to him split in half slightly and the other create an opening in itself that allowed the other to slide into and reform into itself, but his hand trembled and this forced the next explosion. It wasn't as bad since he was prepared and they were stable now, it only staggered him and stung his eyes. He was closer!

Once more his eyes lit up as he saw the finish line, His muscles were aching, his lungs had trouble collecting enough air, and he was sweating, a lot. But this didn't matter to him, not when he had his eyes on the prize. His let hand was out once more, for the final time as he re-created the circuit, re-sphered them, looped them ( carefully) and reformed them once more. Now they looked like an atom being split in half, but on a larger scale. They hummed loudly now, the noise cutting his ears and making him wince as the shards of glass on the floor splintered even more now from the vibrations.

This would be his new favorite weapon, minus Azai that was. Now to test their power. His left hand slid out, like he was tossing a Frisbee, but this was much more powerful. The speed was more than he had thought it would be. He barely saw the spheres split and hit his two targets, two metal support beams that were visible. Each hit in each beams core making them bend slightly and glow cherry red from the energy that had struck them. The whole room trembled slightly as Landen slumped over once more, utterly spent but proud. He had created his own cero and it worked!
