The Lonely Vizard (open)

The hollow roared in pain as fire lit up his chest, skin burned away and ripped off of his body with ease, his arms began to writhe back and forth all of his arms minus one backed away from the male as they flailed violently crashing into buildings and the pavement, his last arm though struck the vizard with a glancing blow knocking him on his side, not that it matter though because the beasts mask was already a lit in flame and pieces were chipping off. His body began to become undone as he melted in the fire, his mask no half way gone and his roars dying just like he was.
His body let out a loud boom noise before it died.

Carter was several miles away sprinting to his objective when he heard the blast, hopefully it means Andrew killed his first Hollow He thought as he picked up his speed, his flash stepping almost making the air around him cut his skin as he pushed his body onward, willing it to go faster. He jumped in the air and landed on a nearby parking garage roof, the concrete around his feet cracking and indenting. His Zanpakutō out and pointing below as he felt the aura of a hollow right below him. His own spirit pressure whipping out to draw its attention and its hunger. "OH COME ON YE LITTLE BEASTIE!" He roared as he awaited whatever type of monster would answer his call

"Huh, the scent of a roasted bone...the hollow must have been incinerated."

Andrew didn't really focus on the hollow but rather the flame that came out of his mouth. If the fire breath couldn't stop him, there were still two other things he could have used: his cero and his mask's firey roar. As he watched the hollow's ashes, Andrew put his hand on his mask, the red light slowly dimming from his walrus skull and watched it crumble away as if the mask was cooled magma and could easily fracture away. He breathed a sigh of relief, wondering if the other vizard was okay.

Meanwhile, another hollow had been following Landen silently. Lacking the bulk and ferocity of his partner, this hollow was more snake like in appearance. Even its mask looked like a cobra and when the mouth opens a bony like hood could be seen. Even though the hollow could feel its hunger grow as he looked at Landen, it was much more calculating than the behemoth he had been with. It hissed inside the helmet, its reiatsu being relatively calm as it raised its hand to launch a pair of bala at Landen. But the most unnerving about the hollow was that it wasn't able to speak. Whether or not it was because of a physical deformity could not be seen but the hollow was going to see if he can break the shinigami and turn his words of courage into words of fear.

Landen heard a slight rustling noise, so faint he almost dismissed it but then he felt the energy build up at least two bala's. They were coming from right behind him. Shaking his head he looked down as he cursed himself for a fool. Then and idea sprung up, he pointed his free had down and created a cero with haste. He shot it at the ground at his feet as that part of the roof top caved in, looking up he watched as the bala's flew by over head. Having and idea to draw the hollow in he yelled, "AH FUCK MY LEG!" As if he had broken it, his sword poised to slice through whatever part of the bastard entered the small opening first. He smiled hoping this idea would draw the fucker in, his mind flashing back to what it had looked like. He shivered just a little as he waited.

The hollow if anything was much different compared to the brutish ally that the queen had partnered with. It was much more cautious as it immediately focused on the cero that had brought down the roof. It recoiled into the rubble, using its snake like body to hide in the rubble. Even as the snake like hollow hid, it shifted through the stone carefully so that it didn't look like the rubble was moving. It used the rubble as cover, making sure the vizard was injured. It wasn't like it believed that the vizard was injured. It needed to do something more creative to defeat the vizard or at the very least be able to knock this one off his balance. It flicked its tongue in the darkness before the mouth of the mask started to open up very slowly. It snaked its way through the debris, working its whole body until it found the opening to get a good view of the vizard. But instead of coming out, it hissed softly and fired off a cero from the cover of the rubble, aiming directly at the vizard's body.

Landen frowned as the hollow didn't take his bait. He could feel it spirit pressure inching through the rubble even though the rubble didn't shift what so ever. The thing was thinking to strike fast and quietly like a hunter. Landen smiled as he dawned his hollow mask, the mask appearing like the bleach white skull of a panther, the maw opened in a scowl with twin horns o the temples on the mask. He was the true hunter, he would be the winner in this fight. He felt the extra power course through his veins as he waited for the hollow to stop moving. He noticed at once when it went still and its energy spiked as if it were creating a cero or bala. He let it do the attack, let the cero rush at him, and then he vanished as it exploded right where he had been, his speed having increased greatly under his masked stated.

Dust flew up everywhere from where the cero had connected but it no longer mattered for Landen was flash stepping upward into the air. His Zanpakutō now sheathed again as energy welled in his hands. He chuckled out loud as he shot his hands downward at the rubble pile where the snake was, "Witness my Cat's Call!" He roared as the energy took the shape of twin ceros. Each being shaped like a cat's head and coursing with violet energy and black lightning snapping out. The cats' maws opened as Landen slugged them downward at the rubble with extreme force.

The hollow watched the shinigami with caution, wondering what was going to happen next. But what it was trying to understand is why isn't the shinigami running? The hollow's pesquia was on and already it started to feel something massive was coming. Peering through the opening as the dust began to clear, it saw something that it never seen before: the shinigami was now wearing a hollow mask. It could feel the reiatsu build up in the newly masked shinigami and then tried to escape whatever it was going to do next. However it was too late for the hollow. As it tried to escape through the rubble to give itself a little cover, the hollow had been compressed into the debris. It caused enough pressure on its mask to make it roar in pain before it shattered completely, making it vaporize deep in the stone.

As the hollow had vaporized, Andrew had returned to Landen again as he followed Landen's reiatsu after taking a breather with his hollow battle. He stopped in his tracks as he saw his mask and then nodded his head. "Looks like you got your hollow as well." He looked at the rubble and then back up at Landen again as he spoke. "Do you think there are any more of these particular things around today?"

Landen landed as Andrew pulled up. His feet lightly clacking onto the concrete. Andrew was worried that there had been more which he should have been worried about. Landen had felt four energies before the battle but during their encounters with the first two hollows the last two signatures had vanished. His left hand rose to rub his chin but not before putting Azai in her sheathing, "Yes we should be worried, something had these two organized and sent them to specific points, much like a compass. Then they last two had slipped away once they realized the small force had met resistance. It's my understanding that this is a recon squad based on the size and movements. My question is what's going on on the other side that requires a recon squad here? Is it the eyes that pop up to look out for the oncoming army line? Honestly we should be reporting back to base now to get this info to our higher ups. " He spoke with little emotion, still scanning the area he had done battle with the serpent hollow. It had been built for speed and appeared smart... if hollows could be smart.

"What type of hollow did you fight? One that was smart, if they can be called that, and fast? Or a brute?" He asked Andrew.

"Testing out the fence..."

It was just like when he had met the shinigami up in Sukai karakura. The barrier was all well and good, but eventually that was going to wear down no differently than what the humans would have considered creating an electrified fence. Now the only question is this: where was the weakness in the barrier that would have been able to bring out the hollows from hiding and strike in the very town itself. But as Andrew thought about the mechanics of the reasoning the hollows were there, he had been listening to Landen's thoughts about the hollows' mindset. Normally he would have thought that the hollows were simply banded together out of the simplest desire to feed. on as many spirits as possible.

He continued to think about the possibility of an attack on the city until Landen help get him out of his own head. Looking at him, he thought about his hollow for a moment. "Well, my hollow seemed to have all the brawn and none of the brain. Not to mention the guy was a living iron maiden with how many spikes it brought out of its chest and arms. Luckily I was able to stash away some of my spice between my cheek and gum and he wasn't expecting me to breathe fire directly into his face."

Landen nodded at Andrew's words, "That's what I figured. The two that got away make me nervous. If they were smart enough to realize to bring a fast and somewhat smart hollow and a strong hollow with them then they're smart enough to do it again but with more force." He said dully as he looked to the pile of rubble, now a pile of dust with a dead hollow underneath. He shook his head slowly as he looked around the area some more hoping for signs of what they were looking for, if they were just testing barriers or if they actually had a point to this all.

His mind was swirling but he managed to rope it back in, he exhaled slowly trying to thinking of what the next move should be, what the two of them should do. He brought his left hand to rub the bridge of his nose and spoke, " Do you have any thoughts here? Any plans of action?" He didn't like asking because he usually took on the role of leader but he had learned that even a leader needs to learn to ask his team for advice or he would fall to his pride.

Andrew nodded his head when he thought about what Landen was saying at first. It seemed that there was the makings of their own little group. There was the muscle, there was the brain and now all that was needed was someone who was a speedster or someone who can be able to hide in plain sight from everyone. Something deep inside of Andrew's mind had told him that there is a good chance that they wouldn't need to bash through the barriers. Especially if they did find any kind of weaknesses in the barrier's defenses. And if there is a hole that needs to be dealt with, Andrew had hoped he could be able to help out. Though he had not been in the Kidō corp before, he had started off and ended at the fifth division with Kidō being one of his stronger suits.

He seemed to be in deep thought before thinking up a plan. "Okay first thing we need to do is find where they are making the barrier. There has to be a nexus of where the barrier is being powered and if there is a nexus then we can be able to see if the power levels are still on the up and up. In the meantime we should also be keeping an eye out for any hollows that are out and about that might be acting strangely. For instance if you see a hollow outside of the barrier and it looks like it is doing nothing, it might be actually trying to memorize how the barrier works and the various shifts of whoever is maintaining the barrier."
