The Morning After [Closed]
Sun Sep 23, 2012 7:39 pm
It was now Saturday morning and Keianna woke up at the crack of dawn. She did her usual morning routine and showered, combed her hair, brushed her teeth, ate breakfast, and finally went around to do the laundry. She picked everyone in the houses laundry up, which just so happened to be her, her mother, and the Head of the Family. Of course, there was her guest, but he didn't have anything that needed to be washed, so she let the boy sleep. Once laundry was done, Keianna returned to her room and changed from her pajamas into her training outfit. Although she had the weekends off from training, she loved doing it and it's not like she had anything else to do. She didn't have really any good friends, so she was home most of the time, unless she went shopping for groceries or to school. Once she was dressed, she moved outside to an open area. The grass was beautifully green, there were a few trees for shade, but most of all... there was an entire area for training. There were large posts with bands tied around the top for kicking and punching. There was also a set of uneven bars that one would recognize gymnasts using. Then there was a balancing board, which was just a long, strong piece of wood that one would walk across and try not to fall.
Keianna began her training. First she warmed up by stretching out her body, and then she moved into a few punches and kicks towards the air. She was quiet, she was flexible, she was calm, and she was extremely talented just by watching her do a few warm up exercises. After that, she moved on to using the balancing board, but did not walk on it like normal people would. She walked on her hands, keeping her legs straight up in the air. Then, bending her arms, she pushed herself upwards and into a flip, landing softly on her right foot. What was even more impressive, is that she had a blindfold on the entire time.

Shockingly the boy was training when he felt strong enough, only in one area though. He was working on control over those eyes, but he never could get it. He was careful, he burned leaves with them. They were alive and they worked for his training. He'd slept longer then normal, the bed was so comfortable. He got up from his spot on the bed his eyes were being rubbed actively. He was a bit confused, wearing the clothing from last night. He wasn't really sure what was left or right at this point. Yuri walked to the door, that he thought lead outside. He had his open and was making sure, he walked outside. Gathering the needed objects for his own training, he was quiet and tried to stay to himself. Yuri did this to kill time at times when his muse for drawing was small, it was true he was artistic. Before leaving his room he drew a picture of Kel, she had white wings and was under the son. He'd captured her image, drawing her as an angel. Perhaps it would look a little odd, but he replaced her clothing with somethings that looked a bit older.
Yuri gathered up about twenty leafs. He found a place, picking them up one by one. He looked at them, no control really over it. He was really close to crying. But the first leaf was engulfed into flames, he sighed holding on to the stem of each one as he repeated the process. Anyone watching would just see the leaf burn, his hands were pretty much immune to these flames. Perhaps with more training other flames wouldn't hurt him either.

"Hey sweetheart." a kind voice spoke to the child as she stepped up to his side. She blinked as she saw the leaves burning and reached out to the one in his hand. "Oh gosh. Don't let it burn you!" she said, but unfortunately for her, she did not realize that her hand was now in the line of fire for a power she had no idea he had. Once her hand began to burn, she pulled it back out of reflex, wincing just a bit. "OW!" she yelled out, looking towards Yuri, "What was that?" She didn't sound mean or upset, just very confused at what had just happened. The Head of the Family heard Keianna's mother scream and came running. Keianna did the same. Keianna jumped off of the training equipment and ran towards where she heard her mother. "Mom, are you all right?" she said as she ran around the corner to see what was going on. Very soon, the Head of the Family came around as well, running behind Keianna. The both of them stopped as they got close enough and Keianna's mother just smiled as if nothing went wrong. "Oh... It's nothing, but I think your friend has a very special power." Then, everyone looked to Yuri.

Yuri's eyes became filled with watery tears, he'd hurt the nice lady he got up and ran off. Finding a bush to sit in, he'd been emotional. His eyes burnt things and now they'd hurt Kel's mom he was so upset. He sobbed a bit as he cried in the bush, these cursed eyes of his. Sometimes he wished to just rip them out of his head. They were so evil, why must he be stuck with them. He'd run off or tried to anyways, he didn't want to stay there now. Sorry was over and over, as though he couldn't say it enough as he took off. He wasn't finding her mean or anything like that, he was just so upset with himself. He was hiding in a bush and blending in well, his height was what kept him in good hiding. He'd not meant to hurt the nice lady, he sat rocking a bit why had he been so cursed. He didn't mean to hurt her, why couldn't his stupid eyes stop. He glared down with water dripping down his face into his palm, why couldn't he turn it off. Why did they burn everyone but him to ash if he looked to long. The eyes of the sun inside his head burnt everything but the sun itself.

The three of them quickly noticed Yuri's disappearance and looked around frantically for him. Keianna turned to her mother and looked at the hand that was burnt. "I see... His eyes burn people" Keianna spoke calmly, "At least that is how he said it to me... Mother, please take care of your hand. I will look for the boy. It's not like he could get out." Her mother nodded and was walked towards the kitchen by the Head of the Family. She turned away and began walking down in the direction in which she figured the boy would have gone. "Yuri where are you?" she said slightly loudly, knowing that if he was near, he'd be able to hear her. She wasn't one to yell and he would have to come around if he wanted to eat again. As she walked around looking for the boy, she raised an eyebrow and stopped walking, this time speaking a little louder than before. "Okay, Yuri. If you keep hiding, you are going to be in a lot more trouble than you would be if you just go give Mom a hug. We all know you didn't mean to do it! Now come out here right now! Or when I find you, you're gonna be sent to your room for the rest of the day!" This punishment probably sounded like heaven for the abused boy, but Keianna didn't really realize that being sent to a room with a bed that he had never had before was probably a reward.

He stood up from the bush, he didn't want Kei mad at him not more then she was. His eyes were scarlet red around the outer edges, the next thing they would pry notice was the cold, he was hot to the touch and well this wasn't due to the powers. he followed the sound, careful of the things in his way. He was pretty easy to see, he didn't understand the reward of going to his room, hugging her and saying he was sorry wasn't enough. His eyes were red round the edges and he was tired again for some reason, his head hurt. The fact was, though Kei hadn't noticed his sickness yet, he coughed a bit into his hand. His head hurt and such, but he wasn't willing to complain about it not to anyone. He would sooner walk in traffic before complain about something, because honestly that's what would become the end result if he did. The boy didn't understand that people weren't all gonna hurt him for saying things, his eyes were closed tightly though one could tell he'd been crying. He'd not meant to hurt Kei's mom. "Kei...I..am..sorry.." The stress was too much on him, he was sick and he just fell over now.
He'd passed out on the spot, falling forward though it seemed like time had stopped for him. What was happening, his body felt soft and almost like it wasn't going anywhere. He was out before he hit the ground, the female would find out he had a fever fairly high too.

Once Yuri stepped out of the bush, she turned towards him with the same calm look she always had. She gave the boy a small smile, but that changed when she heard his cough. He didn't sound very well. Keianna stepped towards him. She heard his apology and went to set a hand on his head, but he suddenly fell forward. Keianna dropped down and caught him, picking him up, and cradling him in her arms. ".... How long has he been sick?" she thought as she immediately realized what was wrong by the temperature of his body. She turned towards the house and quickened her pace. "MOM!" she yelled out and soon her mother came running, "Mom, he's sick. I-I didn' know, otherwise I would have given him s-some medicine! I-I can't even tell how long he's been sick!" Keianna was speaking so fast and was in a panic for the first time in a long time. "Keianna! Dear. Calm down!" her mother told her and Keianna took in a deep breath. Keianna's mother had a small bandage wrapped around her hand now. Her mother took Yuri into her arms and the both of them walked him back to his room.
"All right. It's likely just a little cold." her mother said, trying to reassure her. "Mom he passed out!" Keianna told her as Yuri was laid down in his bed. "I know, I know. That is likely because he hasn't had enough rest or nutrients in his system. I'll warm up some of that stew from last night after he is done resting. You get his medicine, so that when he wakes up, you can be there for him, okay?" Keianna nodded to her mother and did exactly as she was told. When she came back into the room with the sleeping boy, she sat down on the floor, laying her head on the top of the bed. She slid her hand within Yuri's hand and held onto it, waiting for him to wake up.

He breathed heavily, it had been alot of stress for him. His hand felt something in it when he was somewhat coming around, his eyes didn't open just yet. His digits clasped at the hand, it was something comforting. He'd never had that before either, Yuri had been tortured and just didn't know how to complain. His eyes hurt so badly, at the moment from rubbing them and crying. He began to come around, he felt the pillow against his head. How had he gotten here, he was wet with sweat from his fever. He felt something holding on to his hand, he didn't try to pull back. Merely to look at what it was, but he remember in his state barely fast enough. Closing his eyes, they felt like fingers, but who did they belong too. He wondered, speaking his first words again. Now this boy only said one thing, saying it over and over was all he knew. He was scared that he was going to get beaten and burned again for doing it, he had before. So what would make this time any different from the last time they did it to him. "Sorry....Sorry...Kei's mom...so sorry"

It had been an hour since this boy had fallen asleep. Keianna had not left his side, but she had fallen asleep sitting on the floor and leaning over the bed. She didn't let go of his hand. She was pretty much attached to him. When his fingers moved around her own, she stirred slightly in her sleep, but she did not wake. Her Mother was currently standing at the doorway, just watching the two of them. Her Mother had never seen her daughter so determined about something for a long time now. It was nice to see Keianna's old self coming out again. Keianna's Mother turned to leave, but stopped when hearing the boy apologize. She smiled and mumbled "It's all right, dear." and walked out, having left a bowl of warm soup in the room since she figured that Yuri would be waking up soon. Once the door was shut, Keianna's eyes opened to the noise. She sat up and looked around, then to Yuri when she felt his fingers wrapping around her own. She had a calm smile on her face and then sniffed the air. She looked towards a tray that had been brought in and smiled. "Mom..." she smiled even happier and then looked back towards Yuri. She set her hand on his tummy and shook him lightly, "Hey... You awake Yuri?"

"Mhm...Kei, I am awake." Yuri was surprised that the Mom wasn't going to hurt him badly or make him run for eight miles while they drove slowly, it wasn't like the people he was used to. Yuri's eyes didn't open because he wasn't willing to risk it anymore, he just responded to Kei, not trying to sit up yet. He didn't feel so great right now, he'd been living with this cold for a couple days now. But he didn't want the family being so nice to him to worry about this was well. He wanted to open his eyes and look at Kei, but he couldn't. Because well it wasn't something that should be done, bothering these people with his cold wasn't something he should do. He could feel the bed was wet under his back, his body went to sit up slowly. Things were a bit different now, he was back in his room. Well to be correct, this was there room. Not his, he wasn't truly sure how he ended up here, did they end up carrying him to this place. He winced a bit touching his head, why was he so wet.
