A Softhearted Experiment: Seven Days In [Closed]
Sun Jul 22, 2012 10:25 pm
Seven days had passed since Amelia awoke in this laboratory with Doctor Hebi. Everything seemed like it was going to be okay, and nothing was getting too bad. Surprisingly, the first night that she had slept in this place, she woke up covered with a cloak of some sorts. That was something she was liked. She wore it when she wasn't being experimented on. She didn't want to mess it up, so there were even times that she folded it and just walked around without it. It didn't seem to bother her. Shy wasn't a part of her personality at the moment. Of course she couldn't exactly remember everything about decency, men, and other things like that. She just knew that she didn't want to mess something up that Doctor Hebi was nice enough to give her.
The young woman was getting used to a few things, like the constant testing, work outs, and one large meal a day. Shiro was with her and she liked Doctor Hebi too, so everything was okay in her mind. She was still trying to understand him and his fascination with her. That was how she saw it: A Fascination. She didn't want to be looked at like some sort of test subject, like she was here just to fulfill the urges of a man who didn't care about her. She was still trying to convince him to call her Amelia as well. She liked that name. It sounded pretty and was much better than experiment, even if that is what she was. Lately, Doctor Hebi had been preforming a few elemental experiments on her. She didn't really understand why or what it was supposed to accomplish for him, but none of them hurt, so she was okay.
Lately, she had been feeling really tired. Her body was not exactly used to such treatment. Nothing hurt her physically, so she didn't understand why she was tired. She figured it might have something to do with her energy. Something inside of her was being tested and she knew it. It was sad to be experimented on a lot. She thought that Doctor Hebi might understand what she was feeling, but it didn't show at all. Only when she was alone did she feel sad. Even if he was experimenting on her, she was happy because she wasn't alone. Shiro kept her company as well. So far, Doctor Hebi had kept his promise when it comes to her little White Tiger Cub. He stayed with her and always helped keep a smile on her face. Although, something was beginning to bug Amelia. In the lab, it wasn't exactly as bright as she liked it. She wanted sun. She wanted to go outside. She was nervous to ask Doctor Hebi if she could though.
Finally she got up the courage. “Um... Doctor Hebi...” she stood up and walked over to him. She blinked her large golden eyes as innocently as she could and poked his arm. “I wanna see the sun. Is it okay if Shiro and I go outside, please?” She asked him rather innocently. As usual, her voice would have it's affect on Hebi, swaying him towards what she wanted. Although she still wasn't completely aware of this ability, she didn't mind it's effects. Shiro ran up behind her, sitting down and staring up at Doctor Hebi with his own bright blue eyes. He too tried the innocent effect, although it was probably not going to work as well as Amelia's.

These last seven days had been strange for the doctor; he couldn't understand what her powers were. He had started with the basics; doing all kinds of experiments with different elements. So far he had done earth, wind, fire, plants, and sand. However, her energy failed to react to any of these. So, today he had decided to do the one that he had not yet; water. He knew she was tired; all of his subjects were by this stage. However, her body would eventually get used to the cycle, and she would be normal with it in the end, as the doctor knew quite well. He didn't care much for the cub; his attention was focused on Amelia, as it was. However, there was a problem with water, and it was why he did it last. Subjects were often unpredicable when he fully understood their powers, and he didn't want water going all over the lab destroying his equipment. As it was, he was looking to find a way to get it properly inside of his lab. As she walked up behind him, he glanced around at her still barely clad form, blinking at her as she made her request. As normal, his right eye twitched and both eyes closed as his right hand grabbed the side of his head, the now familiar headache she gave him by speaking passing quickly as he thought to himself. He looked up to her again, his eye twitching ever so slightly as he thought about what to say. ”Fine.” He said simply, standing up straight as he realized this would be a good chance for her to try out the water thing. He snapped his fingers, as the earth above their heads in the underground complex turned into a large circle as it compressed upwards. Then, the ground beneath them shifted in a circle the same size, as it pushed the two of them upwards, the doctor still sitting in his chair looking equally at Amelia as the compressed earth continued going up and the earth below them did likewise; until finally, they broke the surface, sunlight spilling over them both. The doctor felt his eyes adjusting; it was what he always had to do when he entered the light, as he leaned his head back, looking up at the sky. They were a long ways away from the Akatsuki's base, a large lake next to them. The water was crystal clear; there was small fish within, but nothing too large, as the Doctor kicked off his feet, his chair rolling backwards as he knocked into a small pile of stones, knocking into them as his chair spun around. ”Alright, get into the water, and tell me how you feel.” He instructed her, waiting to see what the results were going to be... |

Amelia's eyes lit up when he said that they could go outside. She was excited to be able to finally feel the fresh air, see the sun, walk around out there. Last thing she remembered before she was brought to this place was rain and pain. Not the best memories to leave the outside world with, so she was happy. As Doctor Hebi snapped and everything began to move, she was slightly startled. The ground beneath her had begun to move, lifting her upwards. Little Shiro was unfortunately not on the circle. Amelia heard a small meow like sound and turned to see Shiro hopping upwards to them, catching the edge. She giggled and walked over to the little cub that was now hanging off the edge. She gently picked him up and held him in her arms. She took a step closer to Doctor Hebi and smiled up to him, before averting her gaze up towards the ceiling that they were being lifted to. She saw some light coming through and a huge smile moved her moved onto her lips. She was really excited to see the outside again.
Finally they had come to the surface and Shiro immediately went nuts. He hopped out of Amelia's arms and ran over to the grass, rubbing his head along the ground. He quickly ended up rolling around on his back. Although her eyes had to adjust, Amelia could even see a hint of a smile on the cubs face as well. That was extremely cute. Hearing Doctor Hebi tell her to get into the water, she looked to him and blinked a few times. "Okay, okay! But not yet! I wanna look around." She said excitedly as she grabbed onto Doctor Hebi's hand and sort of pulled him along with her. "It's pretty out here. The water is clean, you see!" She pointed down at the water happily and then looked around everywhere. She let go of his hand and began wandering around. She kept going, staying in Doctor Hebi's vision, so he knew she wouldn't be going too far. She came to a cliff and sort of looked around over the trees to see where they were. It really was pretty.
"I don't know why.... but she likes you..." Shiro suddenly said to Doctor Hebi, obviously in the language of the beasts, but he said nothing else. He immediately ran forward to try and catch up with Amelia. As this was happening, Amelia looked back to him after hearing his steps. "Shiro, whatcha doing?" her eyes widened when she realized that he wasn't going to stop. At first, she thought he was going to tackle her off the cliff, but instead he ran passed her and jumped off the cliff. Amelia's eyes widened in horror, "SHIIIRRROOOO!" she reached out for him as he went over the cliff, leaning forward farther and farther until she too went over it as well. She was unaware of any of Shiro's abilities, so this was an obvious reflex of someone who was trying to protect their loved one.

The doctor merely watched as the tiger cub ran over to the grass, rubbing his face against it. He merely watched behind his glasses, observing from afar; this cub was weird, almost weirder than the girl. Nah... she's much weirder. He decided, after thinking about it for a few moments. After all, the cub had the right reactions that he should; while she had been weird acting. When she said she wanted to look around, he merely looked up at her and blinked. What do you need to look around for...? There's nothing to see... He knew he was right. They were in the middle of nowhere, nowhere and going nowhere fast. However, she pulled on him and he stood up, wondering what it was she was doing as she pointed at the water. ”Yes, I know the water is appealing.” He said, exasperated, about the water beneath them. As she released his hand, he looked down at it, thinking to himself, before he heard the voice of the tiger again. Where do they even find a cliff, anyway. The Doctor thought to himself as he saw Shiro fall off. He didn't particularly care what happened to the cub; in fact, he doubted that such a small fall as that would seriously damage the incredibly strange animal. He clicked his tongue; or rather, tried to, as he ran forwards, his torso leaning forwards as he threw himself off the cliff as well, falling right next to Amelia. He extended his right hand as a flurry of snakes shot from his sleeve, as if coiling around one another as tons of them wrapped themselves around Amelia, coating and protecting her from the ground below, as the doctor looked over to Shiro. Hebi shot out from behind him as it bit into the cub; holding onto it as they all suddenly STOPPED in midair. The doctor shifted, as Shiro was placed onto Amelia's snake wrapped form. He grunted from the effort as he lifted them straight upwards, as if they were on a line and the line was being reeled in. In reality, he was merely using the levitation of his wind release, as he got up further and further, blinking as he threw Amelia and the cub forwards, into the water. He followed along, levitating above them in the air, watching to see what she would do now, hopefully doing what he had already instructed her to do. |

Amelia had begun to panic for a moment there when she realized they were actually falling down a drop that looked to be at least one hundred and fifty feet. She couldn't reach him. "Shiro no..." she thought to herself when suddenly something wrapped around her and then wrapped saw Hebi grab Shiro. Her eyes widened, a huge feeling of relief moved over her. She looked down to what had grabbed her and saw that it was a lot of snakes. She turned to see that Doctor Hebi had come to rescue them. I was a bit obvious that he wasn't really protecting her for HER good, but instead to protect his experiments, but Amelia didn't care. Shiro was okay, and with Doctor Hebi here, she knew that everything would be fine. Suddenly they stopped in mid air. Amelia, confused, looked around and then to Hebi as Shiro was brought towards her. She squirmed a bit until her arms came to sneak through the snakes and grabbed onto Shiro, holding him close. "You scared me..." she mumbled as they all began floating upwards, "Why would you do that?!"
Shiro just licked her nose and then looked to Doctor Hebi. He had his own motives behind his little stunt. "Looks like I found out a few things though my own little experiment." he said as they were suddenly thrown towards the lake. Amelia tightened her arms around Shiro as she felt them dropping into the water. Their bodies were completely enveloped and began to sink. She opened her eyes, looking up to Doctor Hebi through the surface of the water. She could see him perfectly. Usually when someone's eyes were open in the water, they couldn't see normally, but she could. She looked around and Shiro struggled a bit. She let him go, watching him swim around until he went straight up and left the water. Shiro shook a bit, laid down, glared at Doctor Hebi, and then began licking his fur. Water and felines didn't mix very well.
Amelia on the other hand sort of enjoyed it. She allowed her body to sink all the way to the bottom and just stared upwards at Hebi, wondering if he was able to see her as well. She blinked when she realized she needed to breathe and went to take in air. She was fine. She could breathe just fine under the water. Well this was definitely new to her. Since she could breathe fine, she just laid there still and closed her eyes. Something about being in the water was so comforting to her. She really liked the way it felt. She felt so light, free, and it was just really comfortable for her. She stayed there, not moving at all and kept her eyes closed. Some would probably think that she was dead.

Dr. Hebi merely watched as the tiger cub got out of the water. Odd. He thought to himself, before looking down at Amelia. He knew that she would need to come up for air at any second, and he saw as she opened her mouth, as if to take a breath... And merely stayed down there, looking just as she had above the water Yes.... He thought to himself, a smile on his face as he began to realize that this was is; this was what he had been watiing for, this was the thing he had been hoping to find. He realized that her powers could most likely be water related; she looked plenty comfortable down there as he touched down on the ground below himself, snapping his fingers. All around Amelia, she would be risen on a pillar, up out of the water so the doctor could speak to her. ”Do try something for me, would you?” He asked her, smiling to the girl now on his eye level. ”Try looking at the water and lifting it up without moving; just go deep inside of yourself with your mind, then think of the water.” He instructed, using the method most common for someone when they were trying to gather their energy. He hoped this worked; then he would be able to continue onto the other parts of his tests, as this one, he felt... had been going on for quite too long, and he was eager to continue... |

Amelia's eyes shot open as she felt the ground beneath her move, lifting her up as she lay there. Still, she did not want to move. She was comfortable. As she was raised even higher, coming to Doctor Hebi's eye level, she turned to face him, listening to what he had said. She sat up and glanced down to the water. "He wants me to move it...? I don't know how though..." she thought to herself, blinking a few times. She was willing to do this for him, but the actual act of doing it was going to be hard. The fact that she was able to breathe underwater astonished her. She wasn't expecting herself to have any powers at all. Apparently he had discovered something just by watching her lay on the ground of the lake. "I'll.... try..." she said in a soft mumble. She was not exactly sure how she was going to do this, but she would take his advice. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and just began to think of water like she was told. "Water... water.. water... ice? Uh... Rain... Hm... How about the lake! Rivers, oceans... ponds... waves!" Obviously this wasn't exactly what Doctor Hebi meant, but this was definitely how she currently took it.
While this was going on, Shiro stood up onto his little furry legs and began walking towards Doctor Hebi. In truth, now that they were outside, Shiro was wanting to kick his ass for 'kidnapping' his momma. He was ready to fight. Shiro only didn't know what would happen to Momma if he lost or how sad she would be if he got hurt really badly, so he chose to talk to him instead. "Why do you like experimenting on Momma? She really does like you and you treat her like she is just an object. She's a person. She has feelings, but you don't really seem to care. Why?" The cub asked him rather innocently. He didn't want or meant to sound disrespectful of any sorts. He actually wanted to know. He was going to stay here with Amelia until she wanted to leave, no matter what. He just wouldn't mind knowing why she was going to be treated so badly.
Unfortunately for Amelia, she was unable to move any water. She opened her eyes only to realize that nothing had moved at all. This time, she did the same thing. She kept calm, thought of water, but kept her eyes open. She thought that if she concentrated on it by watching it and imagining it move that it would help. After a while, she sighed and gave a saddened look, "I can't... do it... It won't do anything. I can't move it. I'm sorry." She closed her eyes and looked down to the ground, her hair falling forward to keep her face hidden from him. She felt slightly ashamed for not being able to do what he wanted her to do. She didn't want to disappoint him and now she felt like that is what she was doing.

The doctor felt himself looking over at Amelia as she said that she would try. He merely stood there, watching as she attempted to manipulate the water. He knew she would most likely fail, but this was only the first part of what he would need to do. He still had one trick up his sleeve for teaching her; he just wanted her to experience the change in not doing it and being able to do it. As he watched her, he looked back over to the cat. He could tell it's muscles were taut as if to spring, and he merely smiled at the cat. Then, right before the cat, Shiro could merely watch as he turned into his large form... and was clearly bisected, killed instantly, hearing Amelia screaming in the background and those snake eyes behind it all... Before he would snap back to normal, realizing that it wasn't real; it was what the Doctor could easily do to him if he attempted to attack. So, the Doctor merely listened to his request, as his eyes fell on the tiger. He blinked at it, as he linked with the cub's mind once more. This was a basic power of the iramasha, and could be used to send images, words, information, anything mental across minds. However, this time, it wasn't a premomention of the future; this was the past of Doctor Hebi. The cub could merely watch in high speed as he saw the doctor coming out of a snake's mouth, not even making a single sound as he was wordlessly picked up and injected with needles, seven times in a row. Then he was placed in a cell where every day he got up and went to have more surgeries, more needles poked inside of him, more tests done. Every day, he went through it wordlessly. He made no sound, never doing anything while alone other than blankly staring at his own feet. Then they gave him a special drug, and this one caused him great pain, causing the young boy doctor to thrash and flail about, crying and screaming but not even knowing what the word help was. They inserted another being inside of him, and after some time, this being, Mu, began to understand the doctor. One day, he gave the doctor a consciousness; a personality. He flipped the switch of Dr. Hebi's will as the light came to his eyes, and he began to learn. Learn quickly, learn incredibly quickly, sucking up knowledge as the snake in his stomach continued to grow, only caring about it and Mu. Then, one day, he lured his warden into his cell. He killed him in cold blood, not feeling anything from it as he expressionlessly other than his little interested smile walked out of the cell... and proceeded to take over the entire complex. The cub got to see the next thousand years of Dr. Hebi's life all in an instant, countless experiments, failures, learning what did and did not work... It was utterly horrendous. A tale right like that of a bad tragedy; however, it was worse, because the person it had effected was standing right before him, looking down at his “Momma”, only ten seconds having passed since the cub's original hallucination. There was a good chance it would be in tears by now; after all, the sheer amount of mental shock that induced by experiencing had made the doctor the emotionless monster he was; to view it all had been the cub's request. ”I do not care about her as a person with feelings because I physically cannot.” He said simply, in english, making his words clear to the girl and the tiger cub, about what he meant. He looked back down at the girl, blinking at her. ”Alright, I'm going to help you now. Just relax and don't resist me.” He said simply, as he closd his eyes, entering her mind. He sent her the feelings he had when he was manipulating fire, earth, and wind; and he opened them again and smiled. He could see the water around her body circling; it would seem... ...that he was right after all. |

Shiro was horrified for what seemed like days and days of punishment. It was like he could feel the needles sticking him, the surgeries, the drugs... He watched it all and sometimes could feel it as well. The Doctor had been through more than he had even imagined, but then it moved into where he did the same things to others that the Doctor's did to him. You'd think that someone would feel guilty or want to do things differently to NOT be like the people who harmed them, but this guy was different. He kept going. He kept hurting others just to satisfy his own curiosity. How was the cub supposed to react to this? He knew now that Amelia would probably go through the same thing that these people went through. He wanted to cry, yes, but something in him told him not to. He fought, holding the tears back. Successfully the small cub could be seen taking a deep breath. His body was even shaking. There were no words that anyone could say to take away the horror, sorrow, and fear he just felt and witnessed. His eyes did not shift away from The Doctor until finally he spoke words that both he and Amelia would be able to hear.
"I do not care about her as a person with feelings because I physically cannot."
Hearing this, Amelia's head shot up and looked towards the Doctor. Even he would be able to see the extreme amount of sadness and disappointment in her eyes. She turned away from him and looked down to Shiro. He was sad too. They both were. She said nothing though. She felt an overwhelming amount of emotion and something told her that it was coming from Hebi. Still she did not break her gaze from him. She felt what he felt, which confused her slightly because she didn't know he had the ability to feel. Water did seem to be moving around her, but the moment he stopped projecting his own feelings into her, the water would stop moving as well. She understood. That was HIS was of controlling an element. She would have to find her own. Since it was being projected through her, she knew now that she did have the ability to, but it wouldn't be the same way he did. Still, she stared right into his eyes, not breaking her gaze at all. It was strange. She cared about him, yet he just openly admitted that he did not care about her, at least like a person would.
"Doctor Hebi..." she called out his name softly as she pushed herself to her feet. She was still standing on top of the pillar. She suddenly ran towards him, jumped from the pillar, actually took a step on the surface of the water, and landed on the shore. Once she hit the shore, she hugged him. Tightly. The moment they touched and she spoke to him, her own feelings would be passed into him, showing her how exactly she felt when he said he didn't care, and then something else. Shiro was once again accidentally passing his own feelings through her and the cub also felt saddened. He was upset about what he saw, the pain and torture that Doctor Hebi went through to become what he is now. Both he and Amelia now wanted to do something, SOMETHING, to show Doctor that there are other things in this world besides experimenting. AND that there are other things to experiment on. The both of them knew it was going to be hard, and it would take a very long time. They didn't care. After seeing Amelia do it, even Shiro walked up to the Doctor's side and leaned his head on his leg, showing what affection he could towards the Doctor.
"I want to stay with you..." Amelia suddenly said, refusing to let Doctor Hebi out of her arms no matter what he tried, said, or did. Her arms tightened around him even more. Still, Hebi would be able to tell exactly what she meant. She didn't mean as an experiment or test. She wanted to be with him to make him happy. Nothing more. "Please... even if I get boring to you as an experiment... Don't throw me aside. Let me stay..."

Re: A Softhearted Experiment: Seven Days In [Closed]

Even as he saw her looking up at him with that emotion he was beginning to understand more, “sadness”, he still barely reacted, merely looking down at her with the same expression on his face. He watched as the water stopped moving all around; however, the smile that was around his face stayed. He had found her realm of control; and he highly doubted that anyone with as low of a power level as hers would have any other kind of elements, so it seemed that this was it, he had found it... she just couldn't control it herself, at least not yet. As he heard her calling out his name, his eyes focused on her once more, slightly narrowing as he felt that same familiar surge of what felt like a miniature war going on in his head, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath as he realized she was running towards him and jumping from the pillar over to him. He saw her step on top of the water, and wondered just how far her water influence went. Then she was upon him once more, and he was ready to attack again; however, something was off, just as it had been before. She still did not give off any threateningness. She grabbed him tighter than before, pinning down his arms. He could have overpowered her, but he didn't know what she was going to do, and so he decided to wait and see, listening closely. However, it wasn't something he could merely see, as she pushed her feelings back to him. He decided to allow her mental message through, before he blinked at her, his mouth a flat line, as a single tear rolled down his cheek. That was all her emotion did; it pinged against the labyrinth that was the doctor's mind as the message was lost, floating deeper and deeper within himself. It was not shocking enough to effect him in an unexpected way, but he did analyze it. He saw their desire to change him; it was strange. Many of his patients wanted him to change and let them escape; but none on a level like this. They wanted him to change for his own sake, not for theirs. It was wholly different from the norm, and he once again thought to himself how weird they both were. And then she spoke once more, as he realized he was distracted. Something happened, then; it was like another person within his mind dashed past him as he was analyzing their emotion, and he could only watch as they took control of the body. Dr. Hebi's body gripped around Amelia, his arms going around her as she told him not to throw her aside. At last, the personality made it out, as it spoke to her. ”Of course I would never let you go!” It exclaimed... however, it was false. It was merely the result of her voice's power; the personality did not truly feel that way, it was merely being manipulated. The look on his face changed from one of deep passion to normal as the doctor's arms went limp at his sides, Amelia still gripping onto him as he looked down at her, blinking. ”There is one possible way for you to stay in a way in which I would never grow bored of you. However, to start that way will be painful, very painful. More painful than anything you could ever imagine.” He said simply, looking into her eyes as he waited for her answer. ”Well? DO you want to try it?” |
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
