Appearance:
Andrew's face is much more rounded and seems to have a youthful appearance. He looks like a person that is probably many years younger than he should be. His eyes are a light brown, and possess a shine of them that have a slight sense of mischief with a mix of innocence. However, because of being far sighted, he has to wear glasses when he needs to see things at a farther distance. In terms of muscle, most of the muscle is apparent in his lower body more than his upperbody. He looks much more leaner in his upperbody after training in the shinigami's ranks.The muscles in his legs are much larger and defined from having to carry his weight. His arms however lack any true sign of muscle on his body. However, that is something that he doesn't really mind since he can be able to stand his ground much more often. His skin is of a light tan in color, and for some reason he has a series of scars. He has two small scars that go vertical down his chest and a longer scar that goes across his stomach. One of the more defining things about him is the high levels of hair that he has on his head. Usually the dark brown hair that he has is large and it can easily become very untamed. There are times that he actually has his hair be very untamed for the reason he was not able to control it. Should cut his hair, he has a few smaller scars along the top of his head.

Much of his gear that he wears with his uniform is plus sized. This is mainly for the height that he was at. The top half of his uniform is loose to allow Andrew to manuever around with less difficulty. The bottom half of the uniform is much wider to accomodate his legs. More than anything, the bottom half is altered so that whenever he has a longer stride there will be a much lower chance of him damaging it. The footwear of his choice normally is much larger than normal soul reapers. He possesses a shoe size that 16.5 EEE. So he needs to be pretty careful so he doesn't break the straps of his sandals or even socks. If anything, he had desired that he could be able to go into the living world to grab himself a pair of shoes that are comfortable for him to wear and he can actually fit on his large feet. If he can be able to get away with it, he prefers to use a gigai form in order to have much more mobility for his clothes. He had always felt much more comfortable within clothing that he was much more accustomed to when he was younger. Typically he would stay with shorts to show some of his lightly tanned skin and solid colored t-shirts. The glasses still remain on his face whether he was in his shinigami uniform or in the gigai form. He also keeps one piece that belonged to him in his days of being alive: a cross that his mother had given to him when he was a child so that he would always be protected. He now wears it around his neck.

Personality:
Good in a group, strange by himself

Andrew usually has an open and outgoing personality. Normally he has no problem being able to interact with many people. He prefers much to be around other people than being by himself. If he wasn't able to communicate with someone, he would have easily gone pretty much crazy from a prolonged period of isolation. For him, isolation is the last thing that he wanted to have. However, it isn't the craziness that would make him look like someone psychotic. The craziness stems more to instill more random thoughts in his mind than anything else. It is the kind of craziness that can only be brought through prolonged periods of boredom. Such things that would ensue from those kinds of events are normally along the lines of having a very simple task and expounding it into something he would fabricate in his mind. It isn't something that would involve hurting people, to some extent it could be something that helps him relate with stress or his mind had been lulled into the form of a blank slate.

The Angel and the Beast

Andrew is the kind of person who normally is in a good mood. He always seemed to have a smile plastered on his face. If anything, he enjoys being able to smile and hopes that he can be able to spread that same smile around other people. He absolutely loves to laugh and has no problem with making a few jokes. This makes him look like a shinigami that might not be the kind of person who should be in the divisions, but even despite that Though he is pretty much calm and in a good mood, he has a stronger sense of emotion. This usually gets him into more trouble than anything. One of the more devastating ones is his rage. It does take much for him to unleash his rage from a long fuse. However, once he reaches that level, it takes a very long time for him to come down from his aggression and he would more than likely strike everything down. Such things that could trigger it is if he had been placed into battle, his friends are danger, or even if he felt like he had been threatened. Once the fuse is completely gone, he becomes almost a ferocious beast. His mind goes blank as he desires nothing more than vengence. But his rage is very focused instead of being rampant. His mind immediately targets the source of the anger and continues to move on until that target is defeated. What makes this dangerous is that he stops caring about what things are around him whether there are many opponents or obstacles. He won't stop until he has been brought back into his original mindset. This is only doable with someone who knows him to have him back to normal.

The machine within the beast

Emotions aside, his mind is innately quizzical and he possesses a strong sense of curiousity. Though he doesn't possess much book smarts, he has a very good memory. When applied, he is able to recall things that had happened to him in the past. Despite the memory, his mind has a very huge tendency to wander around aimlessly. Should he stay with something with enough repition, he would completely forget about it. That is why he needs to find a variation within the things he needs to do and the things he wants to do. For instance, he does know that he needs to train as hard as he can. However, if he does this for too long he starts to get disinterested or begin to just nap away. That is why he changes up his routine so that he can be able to still enjoy what he loves. Even as the mind is maintained at a level of sharpness, it can easily go into senior moments. Sometimes he could be standing in a room for one moment and immediately forget why he was even in the room in the first place.

A spark within the darkness: the provider

He has a very strong sense of creativity. It normally shows within the realm of cooking. He had always enjoyed cooking and had wanted to be able to further his skill. With this desire, it is used to help balance his mind out when it comes to training. While he possesses notes and research to help him understand how to best be able to adjust himself within the Gotei 13, he also has several cooking books from within the land of the living that he also studies. More than anything, he has two main skills within cooking: grilling and baking. However, he tends to go towards baking more because he is able to be more creative. This pretty much gave him an even greater love for both meat and sugar. However, he doesn't feel right about making large amounts of food and have it for himself. With such things, he had always believed that if you make enough food for others, then you should be able to share with them as well. That is why when he makes successful dishes, he shares them with as many people as he can. In a way, he had thought of himself in that way as a morale booster. After all, having something special on the exception of military standard food can easily change someone's mood

Zanpakutō Name: Tetsu Itamae

Zanpakutō Spirit Appearance:
The spirit itself is a small, pink sphere that has a large white chef's hat. It also has a frying pan along side at all times it is pretty much a very strange and unassuming flame type zanpaktou spirit. However, despite its size Tetsu is able to do a lot of things. Despite having no arms, the spirit is able to hold a lot of things around its body to look like a larger form of an atom with all of the various tools of the kitchen circling around its body like the various electrons. Even without hands it is able to show off what it can be able to do by creating various dishes in the kitchen.

Zanpakutō Spirit Personality:
It takes a much larger interest in Andrew's ability and how is he able to develop himself as a shinigami. It tries to show him options that he can take and be able to give him the confidence that he needs to gain in order to ensure his success. However, when it comes to cooking, it is more of his conscience than anything. The last thing it would want is to have Andrew try to blow up a kitchen. Even as time passed on it still was concerned with how Andrew developed. It watched as Andrew was able to evolve his powers and even wrestle the hollow in his body to the ground and take charge of what needed to be done. At first it had been worried about being consumed by the creature's rage and flames. But now it has a deep respect for Andrew for being able to step into the fire and come out of the other side unharmed.

Inner World:
The inner world of Tetsu is a small commerical kitchen. It contains two rooms: one section that would be used for the preparations of ingredients such as raw foods or vegetables. It contains three long stainless steel tables that have a small compartment for cutting boards. Along the edge of the wall there is a combination range and convection oven. A hood is also present so that he can be able to vent off the smoke. Along with that, there is also a fryer and a large wok. It has a gas range with a convection oven equipped with an exhaust hood. The countertops are also stainless steel and possess a food processor, a blender, and a food processor. In the back of the second room there was a three compartment sink that is for the soaking, rinsing and sanitizing of anything that it uses in the kitchen. It even has a working refrigerator and a freezer. Nearby the fridge and freezer, there is also a working ice cream machine. This is where the spirit feels most at peace: to be able to help create recipes from different ingredients and give Andrew advice when he looks like he is going to need it.

Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance: Within the sealed state, the zanpaktou appears to be less of a katana and more to something that Andrew is accustomed to. The overall appearance of the weapon is the form of a large chef's knife. The color of the flat end of his blade is black like coal and the edge is the color of silver. The blade itself is wider than a normal sealed zanpaktou and possesses no guard to speak of. The only real thing that could protect Andrew's hand is that the beginning of his sword. The broad portion of that area is designed to protect his hand. It is much lighter than it appears to be, so he uses it mainly with his right hand. He usually never wields it in both hands or even in his left hand because it feels much more clumsy if had done it in such a manner. The hilt is a deep black color and it is built to be comfortable in his hand. The reason for this is the hilt of his zanpaktou is grooved for a single hand.

Shikai Information

Shikai Appearance: Upon release, Andrew's zanpaktou changes into a katana like form of the santoku knife. The blade's form changes into the form of a narrow bladed cleaver. However, it is still built to be very comfortable in his hand. In addition to the appearance, along the blade's edge the weapon possesses instead of a smooth straight one, the weapon gains a scalloped edge. This allows the weapon to use the air pockets that the scalloped portions create to allow for a smoother cut.

Shikai Abilities:
Doragon Koumi:
Andrew's shikai ability is known as the form of a spice that he calls doragon koumi (dragon spice). The nature of this ability allows him to disperse the attack into cloud form that can be inhaled by his opponents or it comes in contact with their bare skin. The cloud has the appearance of a rust color and it is designed to immediately burn his opponents. The shikai is not designed to kill his enemy; however, the cloud itself has a very powerful heat to it similar to that of triple the effect of the ghost chili. This would cause intense burning sensations to anyone who would go within the cloud in the form of redness of the skin, tearing up, and respiratory problems. However, it is a superficial attack. The only way to cause damage is through exposed skin of his opponent or if they inhale it. Even then, the damage is temporary at best. The burning sensation would only last for 10 minutes. It cannot be able to penetrate the clothes of his enemy or anything that would cover their faces. Also, it can easily be dispered by anything that uses wind as a special ability whether it a zanpaktou or a Kidō.

Doragon Hana:
During his training with his shikai, Andrew noticed how the spice had always stayed within the blade even though he never released it. That was something he had always noted in his training and eventually asked Tetsu what it was. When he realized it was a fire elemental, maybe there was something more to it. This brought forth his second shikai ability: Doragon Hana (dragon edge). By using his own reiatsu as the spark, the spice turns the blade white hot. In this form, the shinigami is able to merge the flame element with his reiatsu to further increase his own strength. Essentially the combination of the two would allow him to cut through things that his reiatsu would not normally be able to in the past if he simply used his reiatsu only. However, it is still vulnerable to water and ice type abilities. In addition to this, it is still bound to the five times he could be able to release his ability each release as well as being able to hold the spark for 3-5 minutes.

Doragon Kisoku:
With this form, Andrew had realized that his zanpaktou wasn't the only thing that can manifest his flame. Within his shikai Andrew can be able to consume the spice and mix it with his reiatsu. This causes the spice to ignite inside of his body and unleash a steady stream of fire that is 10 feet long. Because this is mixed directly with his body, the flame is much more potent. With enough focus, he could cause greater harm to an opponent equivalent to a fully casted Soren Sokatsui. However, much like how he can only wield his spice 5 times for doragon hana, that is the same situation with his breath ability. In addition to this, his breath attack can be stopped with the absence of oxygen, a strong wind or water/ice type ability.

Bankai Information

Bankai Appearance:
For Andrew to create his bankai, first his shikai begins to accumulate a black and white spice this time much like it was salt and pepper. When he slams his blade into the ground, the grooves all ignite together and explode Andrew in a massive stream of white and black flames. When the flames die down, Andrew's shinigami clothes are instead changed for a chef's standard. His top becomes a black chef's jacket with a white trim, his bottom becomes a pair of checkered black and white pants, his sandals turn into durable boots and he gains a black skullcap embroidered with a pineapple in the front. As for his weapons of choice, he now has a pair of massive spoons that serve as both bludgeoning and long range weapons: one is a pasta spoon and the other is is regular spoon with the back of the spoon having spikes.

Bankai Abilities:
Kanshiki Chozō (dry storage)
This ability is very simple in its design: using his spoons as the medium, Andrew is able to channel his reiatsu to store away one Hadō in his spiked spoon and one bakudou in his pasta spoon. With each store, they have the power of a full incantation without any augmentation. However, the storage has limitations in both his bankai and his brain. Andrew's ability to store a Kidō is only limited to the ones that he knows currently. Not only that, the Kidō stored away stays with him as long as he is in his bankai form. The only real way to change is to get out of bankai and then change again to choose a new set.

Doragon Arashi (dragon tempest)
In his shikai, Andrew is able to wield the power of his spice in the form of uncontrollable bursts. However, in this form Andrew is able to take his clouds and now turn them into stronger tornado forms. They take the form and size of Tenran. The spice is still as combustible in this form, but all he needs to do is spark it with his weapon or touch it to create a massive tornado of flame. However, it is still as vulnerable to wind but the wind must be much stronger to disperse his tempest.

Meinkōsu (Main course)
As a chef Andrew always had an affinity for knives. This ability allows him to channel both his flame and his blade handling skills. He can be able to channel his flame and reiatsu to form chef knives that are fourteen inches in length. Used for a much more intimate melee combat, it serves for both him to go in closer or throw them as effectively as kunai. There is a secret power in his blades though. If he channels his reiatsu into the blades, they become infused with the power of fire and then become explosive with the power of a breach explosive.

Nazo no menyū (Mystery Menu)
With Andrew's ability to eat is known considering his background. Much like he could be able to consume his spice, he can be able to infuse his very being with the flame element. This allows not only making his own hand to hand attacks being able to burn his enemies, but he would also be able to funnel the flames into his spoons to make them burn hot as well. However, this burns through his reiatsu at double the rate.

Inner Hollow & Mask

Inner Hollow Description:
His inner hollow, though saying that he was a shinigami, looks more like a hermit who had spent their life on a beach. His hair is much longer than Andrew's with the appearance of it being both scraggly and unkempt. The hollow also possesses a beard that is full and bushy to match his hair as well. His eyes are a deep intense blue color, but there are times that the hollow's eyes almost seem dead to the world around him. And though he can match Andrew in the realm of height, the hollow weighs no more than 110 lbs. Many of the bones in his upperbody, legs and arms can easily be seen as if he had not been eating for days and his muscles were being used up as fuel.

Inner Hollow Personality: In many situations, the hollow appears to be unaware of others and can become easily confused. He cares more about things than people. However, it doesn't make the hollow greedy. It just pays greater attention to something like fireworks instead of the people who are watching them. The gears in his head start to turn slowly as it seems that it was actually trying to figure things out. Its greatest desire was to fight his way out of Andrew's body and reclaim the power he had lost a long time ago. He personally blames Andrew for just about everything that had happened, especially when it came to "losing" his own sword to Andrew and giving him in exchange a tool mainly used for cooking.

Inner Hollow Powers: (What powers does your inner hollow have?)
Volcanic deluge: Though the hollow had lost a lot of his power, there is still an affinity to the water element deep inside its body. By perverting the power of Andrew's flame and combining it with the remnants of his water element, he can be able to vomit out lava that has the form and consistency of water. The stream is over ten feet long and is five feet wide. The lava can be cooled down however by wind, ice, and water. Since the lava can only go one direction, the flow can be altered.

Rage of the inferno: Another perversion of Andrew's flame that he had been able to create. Much like Andrew can consume his spice to give himself the flame element, his hollow can be able to hold in his lava. But instead of giving him an elemental advantage, his strength and his ability to use sonido is doubled in power.

Cero (虚閃 (セロ), sero; Spanish for "Zero," Japanese for "Hollow Flash," "Doom Blast" in the Viz translation) are high-powered energy blasts that can be fired from various body parts, such as mouth, tongue, hand or fingers. Only Gillians, Adjuchas, Arrancar, and the Vizard have so far been shown to use Cero attacks, and it appears that stronger entities can use it more efficiently.

Hollow Mask Appearance:
The basic view of the mask almost appears to be the skull of a large walrus. However, instead of the bone white color it is more dull grey with many random flecks of a crystal like substance. The mask almost covers Andrew's head completely and it was adjusted to keep the mask at an angle. There are lines that appear in his mask that almost make it look like maori in design that go all the way from the top of the head and even into the tusks of the mask. However, when the mask is becoming more active, it starts to pulsate red. At first glance it looks like reiatsu but in reality it is actually lava that courses through the mask like it was blood.

Vizard Powers:
Igneous mask:
As the mask looks more like it had been formed from the mouth of a volcano, the power of the mask comes from its resilience. It can take greater abuse but it is not an absolute defense. The longest Andrew had been able to keep the mask on was ten minutes and the greatest amount of damage it can take is the full abuse of a privaron espada's cero.

Infernal roar:
The culmination of his fire and anger can all be channeled into a powerful roar. Even as the hollow started to take everything from Andrew, once it tried to take his voice that is when it activated. It was a powerful roar that is able to unleash a blast of superheated air as if it was from a volcano. But much like the lava his hollow had possessed the roar's range is 15 feet in a straight line with a radius of 7.5 feet.

Cero Tarta
As the inner hollow had profaned Andrew's innate fire to manipulate its former water like nature to create lava, he created his cero to mock his hollow's lava. With the time he had spent with his mask he is able to channel his cero and change it into twice the size of a tart. The edges of the cero would look completely solid while the middle of the cero is liquid almost like lava. When fired the cero has two kinds of impacts: the first is the hit of the actual cero itself. But as the cero is felt a secondary effect takes hold as the filling spills out. The filling acts as a second source of damage, providing additional splash damage to increase his range. The nature of the cero itself is highly advanced, making him unable to launch it in succession. When used it needs to cooldown (four posts).

History

Background:
Life and Death:
In the beginning, Andrew always knew there was something odd about himself. He had grown up in a fairly moderate home with his family. However, he had been born with a neurological disorder that had to make him live the rest of his days as a child who had been born to this world with head trauma. His personality might not change, but his mind was never going to be the same again. It had even got to the point that something had to be installed into his head to remove the fluid that had been accumulating around his brain. The doctors had said that above everything else, he has to keep his head protected. If the tube was damaged, then he would have suffered even greater health risks than before. However, despite those risks, Andrew continued to live on and he had . In fact, some were puzzled with how he had been able to thrive so well. People of his condition usually didn't grow as much as he did. However, there were things in his mind that no doctor could be able to see with instruments.

When he was a child he had always thought he had seen ghosts or even heard voices in his head. Whenever he slept, he thought that he could be able to see the outlines of people coming to him in his sleeping form. He couldn't see the faces since he had always seen them within a static like form. Eventually it had gotten so bad that he had wanted to sleep with the lights on just so that he wouldn't have to see them appear in the darkness. However, eventually the light did go off and the spirits appeared to not bother him as much. At first he had brushed it off from what his mother had told him and believed that the "spirits" were caused by a negative reaction from the medicine that he took. But soon he began to realize that it wasn't the medicine that made him see strange things.

During his years of high school and even to college, he continued to hear voices. Sometimes he could be in a room with a bunch of people and he thought that someone was calling to him. At first he thought that it was nothing more than his mind playing tricks on him, but as the days rolled on he continued to hear them still. On some nights, he even began to see things that appeared to be people in the distance and when he reaches their location, they would not be there anymore. Everytime he had seen them, he continued to wonder it was something negative in his mind. There were even times he had wondered if he had been losing his mind. He didn't know the long term damage for his condition and for all he knew, insanity could follow him.

However, much like the feelings he had when he was a child, he began to forget about them. He graduated in his college and what was to be considered his greatest achievement and being able to stand with his brother as being the only ones to go through college was marred in tragedy. He and his mother had been in a severe accident and he seemed to be unharmed. However, his mother was hurt badly and he immediately tried to get her out of the car. He cared more about getting her to the hospital without knowing that something did happen to him. What kept him alive had been damaged and what began as simple headaches turned into something even worse. The fluid in his head had been too much for his mind to take and he died in the hospital while making sure his mother was safe.

Time as a Soul:
While in the land of the living, he had watched over his mother much like she believed that people were watching over him. He didn't feel guilt, but he didn't want his mother to know that she was alone. She took his death hard and he wanted to be with her. On one night however as he watched over his mother, someone approached him. At first he didn't know what to do. He wasn't very skilled in hand to hand combat and from what he could see the person had a katana. He could have been dealing with some kind of ghost samurai and he had no means to defend himself. For all he knew, she could have been sent to hurt his mother. He watched as the woman moved into her home and he immediately stood in her way. His face had less rage and more determination to keep his mother safe from anyone. However, the woman told him that she was looking for him. Confused, he had asked why and she told him about the Soul Society. Though he could understand about him needing to cross over, he felt bad about leaving his mother. As a last request, he had wanted to be able to leave something for her to show that he was okay. Nodding her head, she peformed the ritual and he was placed into the society.

Making a living:
During the next few months, he had been wandering around Eastern Rukongai looking for some kind of work. He knew he needed something to help keep his mind at ease because his mind had been plagued with the question of what his name was. People thought it was confusing that he had a non Japanese first name, so he wondered at first if there was something wrong with him. On top of that, why couldn't he remember if he had a last name. He thought about that and what kind of skills to bring until he had found himself in a some kind of restaurant around in the 40th district of the Rukongai. He looked at the food and began to ask questions about its preparations such as the cooking time and the procedures the owner took. Eventually the owner was interested enough in his own contemplations that he gave him a job as a cook in his restaurant. While working, that was how he had gained a lot of enjoyment from being able to create plenty of recipes. He cooked there until he saw the same people who had the robes the woman had on when she brought him to this place. Feeling hospitable, he delievered the shinigami their food and immediately felt a high level of reiatsu with him.

They began to question him, but he seemed to have a very confused look on his face. He didn't understand what they were talking about. He did say though he did see the outlines of bodies and heard voices. They continued to question him until a few days later he had been asked to come with them to the shinigami academy. Continuing to look very confused, he accepted and began to wonder what they were talking about. However, before he left the restaurant his chef gave him something that would last for good: a name of his own. He had bestowed the name Takahashi to him so that he would always be able to remember who he was and where he had come from. Thankful for what his chef gave him, he packed up his things and made his way into the Shino academy.

Making a path:
When he had joined the academy, he seemed to have a very huge sense of curiousity in his mind. He had wanted to learn much about the shinigami. As he continued through his lessons, he had learned of a few fighting techniques: zanjutsu, hakuda, and Kidō. Kidō was something that had definitely caught his eyes as he had his first taste of it from a student. Though accidental in its usage, it had began to stroke the flames of intrigue in his mind so that he could be able to learn much more about this path. Eventually he had encountered other students, one in particular he had met was a girl named Yumi. She had taught him about hakuda but he had wanted to continue the path of Kidō. Andrew needed to know where he can actually go and be able to help extend his knowledge of Kidō. He had asked questions about the various divisions and started to contemplate about each of them. It seemed that eventually he would have chosen something like the 8th or the 11th division until he had heard of something that caught his mind. It was the fifth division, and it specialized in Kidō. Once he had heard that, he was more than willing to join the fifth division.

From that day that he had continued to strive to learn as much about Kidō as he could for about ten years. Days before his graduation and the decision he made, Andrew was given a true zanpaktou. His final test was to find the name of his spirit. As he heard that, a sense of confusion was in his eyes. Was there really a spirit within his weapon? He closed his eyes to hope for something until he had seen the spirit. It was in the shape of a soft pink hued sphere. It had no mouth, but it had eyes and a nose. To make matters more interesting, it had a white chef's hat and a frying pan on its side. If anything, the best thing he could do was to ask it what it's name was. Even as he asked, the spirit remained silent. Andrew tried asking it again, but once more it ignored him. It had been the same song and dance for Andrew until he realized something: the spirit had no name to speak of. Looking at the spirit, he asked the spirit if it would like a name. The spirit immediately reacted to Andrew and nodded. Eventually he had gave the spirit Tetsu Itamae and the spirit gave him a skill he learned to be shikai. It was the next level of release for him and found out the skill involved him releasing a very hot spice. With the knowledge in tow, Andrew was ready to join the ranks of the fifth.

What defines a man:
Being in the fifth, he had continued to have much more curiousity with learning how to best be able to manipulate his reiatsu so that he would be the best he could possibly be. However, even with such seriousness, he still didn't seem to feel like being serious all the time. That is why he now began to continue his path of cooking. He wanted to show that even though there was a sense of seriousness for being in the Gotei 13, there should always be time for people to smile and have a good time. After all, what better way for him to do this than with some very good food? He had continued to maintain this same kind of mood until he had been attacked by an unknown force. The events that would unfold would push him into fighting even harder than before. In a sense of fate, Andrew had been paired with Yumi on a mission to deal with some hollows within Karakura. He had been caught off guard with the help of a man by the name of Ashrael. In reality, this man was an arrancar. Leaving himself vulnerable, he had bested Andrew and captured Yumi. However, he wasn't a man that would cower in fear. The flames have been ignited in his mind and the fuse started to burn very slowly. He was going to make the arrancar answer for what he had done. So while he still maintained some stability, he called on his phone to get the assistance of any shinigami that would help him. Thankfully he was able to get assistance from two others: Kyousei Daichi, the third seat of the fourth division and Andrew's own comrade in arms: Choutarou Hiroshi.

Though together they had been able to save her, a side to Andrew had awakened that he never thought would happen. As Ashrael was about to finish Yumi off, Andrew's anger erupted violently as he charged directly at him. And though the arrancar had been repeatedly striking him over and over, Andrew never went down on his knees. It was as if a demon had possessed him and all of his anger and frustration about what had happened to Yumi erupted and he was going to use all of his power against him. As he laid the final blow into the arrancar's body, Andrew had blacked out and found himself the fourth division barracks. He couldn't remember what had happened to him during the fight but when he asked about the day he was told that it had almost been a month since he had been put into the hospital. When asked if there was anything he could remember, he didn't say he couldn't remember anything for the life of him.

However there had been something he did remember or rather he had thought it was a dream. He had been in the world of his zanpaktou when he had seen someone who shouldn't have been in there. When he approached him, the man screamed like a wild animal and tried to rip into Andrew's body. Andrew had almost been defeated if the man seemed to have a problem with Andrew's zanpaktou. He had been calling it a different name, a name he did not readily recognize which gave him the opportunity that he needed to quickly go into his shikai and run him through. Though he had been successful, the man told him it wasn't over. He was going to find a way to get what was taken from him even if it would take him years to do so. When Andrew opened his eyes, he could see someone from the twelfth division whispering to another shinigami harshly. He couldn't make out the words, but he did hear one name: Shohito Katsuragi. When he had been able to get his strength, he found out Shohito was a shinigami from the tenth division that had some kind of information about what was going on during the second world war that resulted in his death. However there had been an insurance policy that was created by him. Due to his paranoid nature he had gathered many materials from the twelfth division by stating it had been for a mission that he was under going and after performing many sessions of trial and error he found a way to preserve himself if he should die in Japan before the bombs dropped. However the problem was that his powers would be intact, not his memories. But for now he put those memories in the back of his head. He didn't need to worry about it since he considered it simply a bad dream.

However, Andrew became more determined to be stronger not just for himself but for others. He was still positive, but in his mind he wasn't going to let what happen make a repeat appearance. That is why he had began to continue his path of studying Kidō within his own division while seeking the aid of other shinigami to improve on wielding his zanpaktou. One such teacher that he had sought to find was from the second division, Yukino. In a way, they had been each training themselves to help increase their skills with zanjutsu. Eventually Andrew had continued to train with his zanpaktou until he had been speaking with Tetsu. When asked about his element, Tetsu told him that he was a fire type and it was time for him to understand his ability. He had told him to use his spice again and just spark it with his reiatsu. Running his finger along the edge of the blade, he watched as his own reiatsu sparked along the edge and immediately turned his blade white hot.

However, it wasn't without some difficulty. While he had the blade on the ground, he accidentally set the ground on fire and immediately had tried to put it out. This naturally had him in the fourth division nursing his wounds. Tetsu explained that the blade needs to be handled even better than he ever had before in his life. While heated, the blade could easily cause greater damage to anyone who was nearby him. However, Andrew was determined that he would not let what happened with Yumi happen again. The shikai skill of the spice would be his second option. Eventually he had decided that when he had found out that the element of his zanpaktou, he had desired to improve this skill within the 10th division. However, he would always show his loyalty to the 5th division with its flower always on the right side of his collar. But in his mind, he had desired more than anything that he had wanted to improve and evolve his skill so that mistakes would not be made to the point history would repeat itself. His path was simple: train in the tenth division under Toshiro's command to understand better to handle his element through the various missions that had been brought forth to him. In time he knew he would learn how to understand his inner flame. Eventually he even learned to mix his fire directly into his body to turn himself into a fire breather to match his skill.

During his fighting as a shinigami, he knew he had been getting stronger. This was thanks to his comrade Yukiko Matsugane. She brought out much more of his strength and out of the box thinking he had been known for. Eventually his strength had gotten to the point that he had to ask Tetsu the question about Bankai. As Tetsu showed him the man who became his reason of hatred, in a way it showed him the one who brought him peace. To acquire this new gift, he had to prove to Tetsu he was the better chef. It took a lot, but he remembered the one thing that he never forgot: his time a chef. It was thanks to Hiro's training that brought him what he needed to get in order to show Tetsu that now he was ready to take it to the next step: utilizing the power of bankai.

Becoming more than who he was
Andrew continued to practice with his bankai in secret, knowing there will be a day when he would be ready to become a captain in the shinigami ranks. However, fate had other things in store for him. As he fought with Yukiko, he learned many things about her. But many of the things he knew were put the test when the second division came to question him. He had learned that Yukiko had killed those who had betrayed her former family and immediately went to her defense not because of being an accomplice but they started to question everything that she was. They had considered her a person who was considerably unstable and tried to kill her pain with alcohol. But Andrew had known the truth about her. No one could simply ignore what had happened and keep it all inside. He had been there for her and still he worried about her well being. He rushed out of the barracks, but immediately he started to feel sick. At first he thought it was something he ate as he immediately vomited. However it wasn't food that he threw up, instead it looked more like magma. He continued to vomit, his reiatsu beginning to spike like when he felt with Yumi.

He opened his eyes and saw the man again. The shinigami seemed to bear a tooth filled smile as he seemed more prepared with using his new found powers. He vomited lava straight at Andrew, doing his best to destroy the world he had created by using his distracted mind against him. All the while this was happening, the hollow was continuing to come out of Andrew as he seemed to cut a path of destruction through the Soul Society. The problem had only gotten worse when the shinigami in a last ditch attempt used his bankai. The hollow started to pour out of him in mere seconds, which Andrew felt like it was only hours. The two continued to fight and as the hollow was about to smash Andrew's head in, Andrew quickly conjured a knife and slammed it into the foot of his opponent. The hollow screamed in pain and realized what Andrew was working on, Frantically he started to pull at the knife but it was too late. He watched in horror as the bloodied shinigami snapped his fingers and detonated the knife. Andrew was disoriented from the blast as the hollow screamed in pain. Much of his lower leg was caught in the blast and while it tried to get its bearings, Andrew grabbed the spiked spoon and smashed the hollow's head many times.

Andrew started to come to as the hollow fell apart from his body. But what he didn't know was the destruction he caused in his anger. He had been branded as a monster and before he could be taken down, he escaped from the Soul Society.

As the world turns
Andrew had been traveling the world most of his life, finally finding refuge in California. For the most part he had been forgotten by the shinigami. However he had found ways to be able to get some work. Thanks to his experience in many areas of the restaurant, Andrew for the most part was pretty successful in creating a pair a series of restaurants in the United States that lasted for a long period of time. But knowing the nature of the restaurant business when one closed down he had simply created a new one. Of his cooking expertise, he was very much known for not just baking but also for barbeque and even casual dining. However as he continued to work in the restaurant, he still thought of Yukiko and wondered where she was. He even wondered if there was that life for him as a shinigami.

And just like fate's wheel turned for him on that fateful day, it turned once more as he encountered a strange person. He didn't know why but he seemed to be staring right at him. At first he thought the stranger was a shinigami, but instead was a vizard. At first he was going to fight him, but instead the vizard explained to Andrew what they could offer him. He was able to contain the power of his mask even after not using it for such a long time, but he can be able to be much more than what he was. If he could be able to be more to find Yukiko again, he was going to do it. As he listened to the offer, Andrew accepted the offer and joined the Vizard corp.

"Um, you want me to what again?"

Andrew stood in his place as he looked at Tetsu. He was dumbfounded by what it said to him. He had expected to have to fight him. If Tetsu was a chef zanpaktou, then he'd expect Tetsu to try and run him through with as many knives as possible. He heard how quick Tetsu could cut things. Even he couldn't be able to cut that fast and he had done his fair share of cooking. But still this was something Andrew never expected to happen. Tetsu floated in front of him again as the mouthless spirit floated in front of him again. You heard me correct, I need you to beat me in a competition of cooking. If you manage to create the dish that can outmatch mine, then you will win this fight and I will show you the secret of your blade. But do not worry though Andrew, you will be provided what you need.

As Tetsu said that, spice exploded from Tetsu's body as two fully working kitchens with a variety of ingredients. The technology of both kitchens was equivalent to some of the things he had seen in the land of the living. He even remembered having to learn these things if he didn't want to sink his money into having to keep getting already made from the convenience store. He always preferred to use his hands when it came to making his meals. Looking around, he cracked his knuckles as he went to work. He needed to think of something that he could be considered worthy. But as the clock wore down, he saw in both fear and awe how Tetsu was able to cook so effectively. In the land of the living there was various texts detailing the ways of chemistry. This is what Tetsu was: it was the protons and neutrons as the utensils it used were the electrons. It cut through vegetables and meat with relative ease as it continued to work.

Andrew seemed to be flustered at the moment as he seemed to scramble around. He grabbed a knife as he continued to look around frustrated, he saw the one thing that brought him back to normal: the pineapple. There was one memory that he always had in his mind it was what Hiro taught him about the pineapple. It was not just a piece of fruit, but rather the very symbol of hospitality itself. As he gazed at that pineapple, he knew what to do. He had to forget about bankai and remember what he loved to do: cook. Grabbing his chef's knife, he sliced through the pineapple and began to slice them into rings and began to grill them over an open flame. As he cooked, he remembered all of the lessons Hiro had given him back at the restaurant. It was almost as if Andrew was going off on his memory as he grabbed the steel like his chef had done and began to sharpen it with a speed that he couldn't even achieve for shunpo. If he was going to win this fight, then he was going to show Tetsu that he was the better chef.

Working he did back in the kitchen, Andrew marinated steak that had been given flavors of brown sugar, soy sauce, and a hint of what the humans referred to as "dijon mustard". As he let the meat rest in the marinade, he prepared the dish according with a second knife and performed a quick sautee of bell peppers and onions that he had cut into chunks like the pineapple. He served that as his side dish as he then worked with a pot filled with rice with a small cup of soy sauce on the side to have with the meat. He studied the plate carefully and then used a piece of pineapple that was shaped in a circle and set it as a garnish on the side.

However, Andrew didn't stop there. He seemed to be thinking of something as he noticed that Tetsu had created a pretty impressive dessert. As he studied the kitchen, he snapped his fingers and realized what he should use. The problem he had though was that he didn't have the knowledge that Tetsu possessed when it came to cooking. It seemed that Tetsu was able to do something that Andrew only dreamed of doing: create ice cream. That was going to be problematic considering he never had experience creating it. Quickly scanning through the ingredients, he then remembered something back in a mission in the United States. When he had been on a mission to help with a hollow infestation, he partook in a carnival and there was a curious thing he had seen called a caramel apple. Unfortunately he didn't have the tools there to create the item on a stick but perhaps he didn't have to. What he did know was the recipe for caramel after watching it on television. Grabbing some apples, butter and sugar, he knew he had began to cook up the sugar. Andrew had to have patience and focus as he watched the sugar begin to turn brown. There was no room for distraction because just like with beef if Andrew turned his back on it, the sugar would be burned and the dish would be ruined. Which was exactly the reason why he never cut into the apples. When an apple was cut, the insides would have oxidized fast and turned brown in minutes. That would make the dish much less appealing and he knew that people eat with their eyes. This test was no different. Putting in the butter to finish the caramel, he then quickly sliced the green apples into neat wedges and did a quick sautee with them cooked in the caramel. He knew this particular type of apple was sour, which could be pretty useful to help balance out the fat of the meat and the sweetness of the other ingredients that he had been using. Tetsu had noticed this and was smiling inside. Andrew was always about being a creature of an unexpected nature. He knew there is always a way, he just needed to think about what to do and then apply what he had learned.

When they finished, there was a scale between them. What was designed to determine the heavier of the two would now be considered who would have the better dish. They each set their dish on their respective sides as the scales began to tilt. Andrew felt like his heart was going to explode out of his chest as he looked at Tetsu's dish. It was elaborate, something that royalty would actually consume. It had created things such as a roasted crown of lamb with mint jelly, a potato recipe he remembered seeing from a famous hotel and lastly the ice cream that it had been created was used as a part to what appeared to be a rather impressive baked Alaska. He started to be worried about whether or not if his dish was not good enough but he could feel in a way Hiro slapping him in the back of the head with his cane. To Hiro, it wasn't the elaborate nature of a dish that made it special. It was the chef who made the meal that made it special. There was no secret ingredient to making great food, only the heart and soul of the one creating it. Andrew watched the scales continue to teeter until the scale tilted to his favor. As he looked at it with a shocked expression, he thought he was dreaming. Tetsu nodded in approval as it watched Andrew. You know what to do Andrew, all you have to do now is say it. But remember Andrew, treat your bankai as if it is your culinary tools. Respect your zanpaktou, honor it, and it will never fail you. And remember, I expect nothing but your best.

Andrew nodded his head as he looked up in the sky again. He gained the knowledge that would be with him forever. Of course this would have been a much better celebration if it weren't for the fact that he had been cooking through the whole night. He had lost all track of time and the fight had left him not only emotionally drained, but also physically drained. He fell flat on his face and began to snore heavily. The scent of cooked meat, fruit, vegetables and spices filled the training grounds as he snored heavily with a large bubble coming out of his nose. To those who wouldn't know Andrew might have just been through a buffet. But he did know better, and that was the best feeling he had.
