It has been going on and on about without as much of a hitch when it comes to the news. They always get their nose into things that would put them and their families in danger if they are caught. Sam sighed as he still see the news about Chaos Island's "mysterious" appearance. To the blue ziamichi, the island was there long before it appeared. Well, it is only logical that it may be the case for Sam to believe that since a lot of things in the world are older than him and his close friend, Shadin Yuudeshi. Considering that the bartender girl has returned from long weeks of going missing, things are still hectic. Several times, Berry was called in to subdue demons and investigate things. Including a derelict airship called the Baka-No-Gotei which appeared to belong to the bartender girl now as inheritance and a recent demon raid at the Karakura Graveyard. Even Shadin can pick up the clues that something big is going to happen, yet Sam was not sure as to what is really going on. It is only one time that he witnessed a small scuffle between two war bands of demon maggots or so as the bartender girl explained over the phone with Shadin. The tough piece of the puzzle was the leader as he or she was... The mobile phone vibrates in the apron pocket of Sam's new blue dress given to him by Shadin. Sam picked the phone out of the pocket and speaks literally like a woman as he was briefed about a demon in Sukai Karakura. As the preemptive force for the Yayjuu, Sam was meant to go first before anyone else in attempt to initially stop the incident immediately.

Sam rushed out of the base with his zanpakuto by his side and notified Shadin that he is going out to handle a demon issue at Sukai Karakura. Shortly after, Sam left the base and became Berry, the Master Subjugator as he leaped and disappeared in a form of flash step called Hoho. As a kido master, Berry has no problems getting himself off the ground and fly through traffic inbound to Sukai Karakura via the tunnels that are the only ways in and out of Sukai Karakura. Berry is capable of smashing through the barriers, but why would he have to do that and risk a lot of lives with such an unnecessary and revealing entrance? As he came out one of the tunnels, Berry detected a spiritual signature that is unfamiliar to him. No way it could be a common demon like the Succubi or the Imps. Regardless of the detection, Berry pressed forward in a blitzkrieg and pulled out her zanpakuto. Demons are generally spirits, so Berry's shikai can work on that one. As he gets closer and closer, the aura began to feel more oppressive. How can a demon generate that much spiritual energy to leak out that much as spiritual pressure? The demon in question was in Berry's sights as Berry frankly spoke, "Expand, Beauregard!" The zanpakuto gleamed as a dark steel sword from the medieval era before a shock of spiritual energy erupted from the blade and Berry's hand. It glowed in a brilliant blue as it grew longer and bulkier. As the glow ended, Berry moved the right-handed sword over his left side as his shoulder was retracted to his six. The sleeves fluttered by the air pushing Berry back fruitlessly, making the right sleeve look like a veil covering Berry's mouth and nose as if he is a white Arabian princess. The maroon eyes thinned as Berry focused closely upon the enemy. He has to make quick work of this demon or that demon will ruin the clothes that Shadin went through the trouble finding and get it customized for him.

"Santen Kesshun." A little girl's voice echoed in Berry's head before Berry was halted by a barrier that Berry only seen conjured by Orihime Inoue. The released Beauregard slams into the barrier that appeared between Berry and the demon. The looks of the demon was slightly baffling as it appears as a little girl...like a doll or something, yet its power was surpassing what is logically possible in the theory of spiritual pressure that Berry wrote a thesis for the Shinigami Final Exam back at the Shino Academy years. According to the theory, the spiritual pressure was merely a leakage in the spiritual body as the spirit absorbs exceeding amount of spiritual energy in little amount of time. Kinda like a small glass of water with the body being the small glass of water. How it is related is because Berry's Shikai has the unique ability to solidify the spiritual body, keeping the spiritual energy they absorbed from leaking out. As confirmed, by doing so will force the spiritual body to expand due to its inability to contain that much spiritual energy that is taken in like chugging beer. If that barrier did not come up, that demon would be finished and locked up with the others that he captured. One question stands, how can that demon be able to replicate a power that is only unique to Orihime Inoue? Berry suddenly felt the spiritual pressure becoming dense and strong in the demon's right hand...An attack!

Berry darted back away from the demon to get a distance advantage in the matter of timing and shouted, "Bakudo Number Seventy-Three! Tozansho!" Five blue barriers formed together into a large inverted pyramid as the demon girl spoke, "Getsuga Tensho," and released a black and red wave of super dense spiritual pressure from its hand in a slashing motion. The wave was stopped by the pyramid, but the pyramid was destroyed in the process. "Another signature attack from the same demon? How it is capable of doing these?" Berry thought as he shifted his stance into the defensive while analyzing the demon's capabilities. With both hands around Beauregard's handle as she held it out in front of himself, Berry tried to calculate the power within the demon since it was no ordinary demon. "Sam Brewer, I presumed?" The demon girl spoke in a little girl's voice like the one before. Berry was not surprised as he already made a name for himself, but it is unbelievable that this demon knew his true name. "Nay. It is Berry, Master Subjugator. Speak of your name and surrender." Berry demanded. "Not much of a master subjugator. You are reputed to be merciless and so far, you cannot keep up to my level." The demon girl spoke in a honest tone like she can read Berry's powers already. "I'll not be goaded to attack when you have the advantage of knowing what I can do. Bakudo Number Twenty-One! Sekienton!" Berry spoke before creating a blue smoke screen to cover his path. The demon girl looked around casually like it has seen this tactic before, but not this one.

"Bakudo Number Nine! Horin!" Berry commanded as he launched an orange-hued tendril around the demon girl's right ankle. The demon girl looked at Berry as it discovered that Berry was underneath instead of somewhere more advantageous for a throw down. Berry smirked as he whipped the horin kido, launching the demon down to the ground in a sling shot manner. The demon girl smashed hard into the ground, causing a very small crater. Berry canceled the horin and clasped his hands together, "Bakudo Number Seventy-Five! Gochutekkan!" A few wisps of light escaped his hands and five tall pillars of iron sand fell upon the demon girl, trapping it like a cage before Berry manipulated the pillars to enclosed upon the top to prevent the demon girl from flying out. Berry sighed with relief that it is over for now. However, there was strange grinding noise like bending metal coming from the demon girl. Berry was surprised that demon was able to bend his Gochutekkan like clay. The demon girl walked out and patted its shoulders. Berry resumed his defensive stance as he witnessed the demon girl summoning a dark halberd with a chip in its blade. "I am Vohlis, Demon Lord of Eden and Brood Father. I am not at my full power as I am merely sealed away by a dying shinigami. As soon I am released, I can reveal my true nature." Vohlis spoke to Berry as he flourishes his halberd. If Berry was correct, if that demon girl was Vohlis, then that halberd must be TonoVonnei, the legendary demon weapon that broke the Zanpakuto of the Soul King. Vohlis smiled gracefully in a sadistic manner as Berry realized that he is dealing with an ancient demon rather than a run-in-the-mill demon. "Since you have your zanpakuto released, I can release my form out of respect." Vohlis spoke as he began glowing. In the bright glow, the doll body soon grew into a woman in a black dress, blond hair and red eyes.

{PREQUEL} A Chance of a Lifetime Evilgirlstudy
As soon as Vohlis finished his transformation, he vanished before Berry's eyes. Jigoku Sodoku is what it is called to demons, but to Berry, it is a flash step. "Hado Number Sixty-Three. Raikoho." Vohlis spoke as he appeared above Berry and launched a massive electrical attack upon him. "Bakudo Number Thirty-Nine! Enkosen!" Berry shouted and summoned a yellow shield between himself and the hado spell. The Enkosen broke upon impact with the hado, but the hado is discharged anyway, so Berry survived. However, Berry winced as he realized that he was slashed in the back while he was busy with the hado. Vohlis sneak attacked him alright as Vohlis flourished his TonoVonnei that was tainted with Berry's blood. Berry has to think quickly or he is through at this rate. Fighting a Demon Lord without much specialty in offensive attacks will be too much. Berry used hoho to go for the offensive. With a semi-mighty swing, Berry's Beauregard collided with the TonoVonnei as Vohlis blocked the attack with an attack. Vohlis spun around to slash at Berry and Berry was forced to block the attack with Beauregard, causing Berry to skid back a few feet. Berry looked at Beauregard as he heard his zanpakutou spirit crying out in pain. Berry discovered that Beauregard's shikai blade was cracked! The legend was true... "Zankido...Bakudo Number Seventy-Five. Gochutekkan!" Berry spoke the incantation for a technique that he developed himself during the time in training with Shadin and Havoc. Five little wisps floated out of Beauregard's blade and five pillars appeared around Vohlis, but at a greater distance around him. Five lines intersected and binded Vohlis's feet to one spot as Berry began his last ditch effort to subdue Vohlis and bring about an end of his reign at least with his capture.

Berry leaped onto one of the pillars and used the lines to enhance the strength of the attempt. Berry darted across Vohlis once and Vohlis blocked the first attempt; four left. Berry landed against another pillar and jumped off that pillar for the second attempt. It is too was blocked by Vohlis's TonoVonnei. Beauregard screamed in pain as the blade was cracking more and more. Berry urged the zanpakuto spirit to stay strong, using his own energy to keep it from breaking. Again, he landed and leaped out of another pillar for the third attempt. It connected to Vohlis's exposed left leg and left a blue mark that slowly spreads. Fourth try was on the way, but Vohlis interrupted it when Beauregard collided against the TonoVonnei and was smashed in two pieces of the blade. With the zanpakuto broken, the zankido was cancelled and it left Berry emotionally and physically exhausted. Berry looked at the broken zanpakuto with a shocked expression as he looked upon Vohlis who is soon turning blue. Berry smirked as it was indeed a victory now that Vohlis is infected with the shikai and the only way he'll get out of that is by antidote. Berry's vision blurred as he already exhausted himself with the Bakudo's and the high level zankido technique. Not to mentioned how much blood he already lost. Berry simply fell down to the ground and landed front side down and his broken zanpakuto loosely grasped. As for Vohlis, it is only a matter of time before Vohlis would become a giant blueberry girl for Shadin's clones to take into custody.

    How The Day Began
The Special Human Task Force was a buzz this morning with activity. Beyond the normal hustle and bustle of the division, such as filing reports on the previous night’s incidents (such as attacks, pulse purifications, and so on) and the introduction of the Division’s new Vice Captain (which was misleading as a rank, since she happened to be the former Eighth Division Captain, not unlike the founder), the Special Human Task Force was playing host to an important even this day; an emergency meeting of several major governmental bodies had been called for between those nations and the representatives of Soul Society in response to the events of Madrid, London, and Cairo. Thus, the Division was alive with activity as they prepared for the diplomats to arrive.

What all of that translated too in layman’s terms was that the countries of Earth were scared, angry, and looking for a scapegoat to pin the blame on. Hard to blame them; over the course of several months they had completely lost London, taken major hits to Italy and Cairo, and now Madrid had been invaded by Demons. All of this, and the organizations in charge of keeping these kinds of things from transpiring had been more or less powerless to stop any of it. That was enough to put anyone on edge; it certainly had the Commander of the SHTF there, which was obvious despite his best attempts to hide it.

Genpaku Arishima was tired, and it showed. The silver haired Shinigmai gave the faux body a roll of the shoulder as he walked down the hallway. There was a time when he would have dressed the body up properly for such an occasion; however, when the people asking for the meeting effectively called and were pounding in his front door demanding to know why he wasn’t omni-present and stopping every attack, robbery, and so on, one couldn’t expect him to really give a shit about what his gigai looked like. He had simply grabbed his normal gigai, dressed in the more modern and normal clothes complete with jeans and long black jacket, and had left the barracks accompanied by his friend and “new” Vice-Captain Solas Foiche. This would be the first time she had seen one of these kinds of diplomatic situations he guessed, and he hoped she could hold her tongue.

”It’s always something around here…” he muttered, but managed to crack a small grin all the same as they approached a pair of black doors. Said doors separated at their approach, revealing a simple elevator.

They rode the elevator up to the ground level building, which served as the ‘storefront’ of the SHTF base. Open to the public as being the security checkpoint for the barracks and rest of the base in general, it was a deceptively simple building. It was designed to keep out those that were unwelcomed with a variety of security measures to detect demonic energies, hollow energies, and so on. It also served to house the main meeting room, which was laid out to be similar to the United Nations with the addition of seats for representatives from Soul Society, the Yayjuu, The Vizard Corps, The Iramsha Clans, and the Suiguira Kingdom. When a full meeting was called, this was where everyone gathered; besides this room however, there were several smaller rooms that were used for when certain countries needed to convene separate of the larger congregation, or when smaller meetings were called; the meeting for today would take place in one such room.

Genpaku stepped out of the elevator and waved several division members out of their bowing as he continued on through the notably more modern hallways. They opened up into a spacious lobby, made mostly of black stone. This served as the receiving location for the general public as well as the reception area for dignitaries such as the ones that they were expecting. Speaking of those dignitaries, as Genpaku and Solas walked into the lobby, several non-descript black cars pulled to a stop outside of the lobby, the doors opening as men began to pile out of the cars.

”I get the feeling that is going to be a long day…” he muttered; granted, the sight coming towards them was not exactly what you would call pleasant. There were at least eight stone-faced dignitaries that had bothered to make the journey out here to talk in person. Though the motion continued in the lobby, one could feel the focus dragged towards the steps as the dignitaries entered.

Introductions were done briefly, and it was obvious that these men were not interested in pleasantries. However, at some point Genpaku seemed to have memorized these people’s names and made it a point to politely introduce himself and his Vice-Captain to each of them. He was far more polite than they had been, and probably more polite than they deserved in all honesty, but this was his secondary role when all things were said and done, since the secondary purpose of the SHTF served as the diplomatic medium between the “Spiritual Nations” as they were formally referred too, and he was the head diplomat to the nations of Earth from said nations. He led the way, and within five minutes everyone was seated in one of the meeting room chairs. Now it was time to get things underway.

”So, gentlemen, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?” he said in surprisingly fluent English, the majority of his national accent subdued. Given a hundred years, it wasn’t hard to learn most languages.
”Our Leaders are demanding an explanation for the events surrounding London and Madrid, and for your actions in Cairo,” a gray haired man from America spoke up, giving Genpaku a cold, hard look.
Genpaku gave a small sigh; how he hated being right some days. He leaned forward in his chair, fixing the diplomats with a stare of his own.

”We have already released a statement concern-“ he began.
”Your statement, while a moving apology, failed to give our leaders an adequate explanation for why these events were allowed to transpire in the first place,” another interrupted, with a murmur of consent going up from the diplomats.
”Right. London was a result of a coordinated assault on four distinct locations at once, effectively splitting the forces of Soul Society and the Special Human Task Force. You know of three of the locations here on Earth; London, Cairo, and Italy, which I noted you failed to mention in your little spiel there. The fourth location was the Soul Society itself. My Division was forced to split and cover more ground, a large detachment being sent to London; we managed to evacuate roughly 50,000 residents before we were forced to retreat for fear of being locked off. We made every attempt to prevent and end the events in London; I personally was there attempting to stop it.”
”And what a magnificent job you did on that, Mr. Arishima.”

Genpaku’s eyes narrowed, under the table his fist clenched, and there was a small, momentary spike in his reiatsu. He held his temper though. The meeting continued on, running roughly the same course for nearly an hour. That was how this day started out.

    Seizing The Chance
Genpaku’s hand came to his face as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
”Gentlemen. We have ran this course for nearly an hour. You speak as though you have another offer; as though this were a simple war between men. You drastically underestimate our enemies. We are not dealing with men with guns or sword, bombs or lasers; we are dealing with demons and worse,” he said, silencing the room as he pulled his hand away from his face to glare at them with cold, serious eyes.
”Contrary to what your leaders seem to be thinking anymore, we are doing everything we can to protect the Earth.”
One of them began to speak up when the door was thrown open. A division member stood there, and spoke without hesitation despite the meeting he knew he had just interrupted; that was what caught Genpaku’s attention most forcibly.
”Arishima-taicho! A strong demonic presence had been detected within the confines of the Sukai dome, roughly a mile from headquarters! A member of the Yayjuu has already been deployed to attempt to deal with the situation. The Yuudeshi Network is going crazy currently with reports of the demon as well as reports from the Wastes sent by one Zin Yuudeshi reporting on some kind of strange uprising.” the man said.

Genpaku was already on his feet; just one of those days.

”Get eyes on that situation in the wastes immediately, but spare as little as you can to do it. Mobilize the majority of the division and reserves to check the turbine stations as well as the back-up system for anything out of the ordinary. Inform the rest of Karakura to be on the lookout in case something goes wrong up here. We will handle the demon situation,” he gave the orders with no hesitation. One of the men looked like he was about to argue.
”Get these men out of here and safely back out of Sukai Karakura. I have watched one city be devoured in darkness, its citizens silenced in a moment of destruction. I will be damned before I do that again.”
That was all that the Head of the Special Human Task Force had to say about the situation; he stepped out of his faux body as it kneeled down. He looked to the division member once more.
”Mobilize the reserves and inform the Yayjuu and Vizard Corps to run a perimeter check on the Karakura Dome. Be ready for anything.”

“We are going Solas,”
he said as the other division member ran off to relay the orders into the Yuudeshi Network and the division as a whole. Genpaku jumped, slipping through the roof of the building and landing on top for a moment while he waited for his Vice-Captain to catch up. He reached out with his senses, pinpointing the enemy in question a little ways away; there was another energy signature there as well, but it seemed to be somewhat faint. That didn’t bode well.
”Seems like we’re in for a hell of a day. Keep up,” he said with mock light-heartedness. It was easy to see in his eyes that he was serious about this, and that he was somewhat concerned. The power he felt wasn’t just your run of the mill demon. With a step, he vanished as Shunpo carried him off and to the destination.

He arrived just in time to witness Berry’s final attack set, landing the blow as the strange blue coloration appeared on the demon. He also witnessed the breaking of Berry’s Zanpaku-tou because of the spear; few demonic weapons held that property, and only one of them that he could remember was a spear. He had not been present when Vohlis had made his introduction originally, nor did it really matter to Genpaku at this point. The demonic energies rolling off the woman was all he needed, and the weapon was all the warning he’d need as well.

”Bakudo #61, Rikujoukourou,” he stated simply as the eight pillars of light shot in at the demoness. He started forward, not bothering to draw his zanpaku-tous but instead rolling his sleeves back slightly.
”I see you’ve met the welcoming committee, Demon. You have stepped into the wrong place. Though I am quite curious as to why you are here,” he called out. His eyes were cold emeralds and locked on the demon. Berry would need medical attention and quickly, but the demon was an issue that needed to be taken care of and quickly.

Judging solely by the power rolling off the girl, and the state Berry was in, this was no run of the mill demon. He was not going to allow it to remain

”Sorry, but I’m going to cut the introductions. Gentei Kaijo,” he said as the insignia of the Special Human Task Force appeared under his Hakama and Haori, a brilliant green coloration. The seal was released, but Genpaku had already begun moving before it fully had; he doubted that his Kidou would hold the demon, and while he knew that given enough time whatever Berry had set in motion would come to pass, he wasn’t to make sure this demon was flattened before it had a chance to wreak havoc. While it appeared that Shunpo carried him above the creature, this was actually Sattou Semi, a variation on the Utsusemi technique that he had created that mimicked the movement of the user as a mean of throwing the opponent off.

The copy of Genpaku appeared above Vohlis, hands grasped onto the hilts of his Zanpaku-tous as though he was about to draw the blades in an attempt to draw and cleave the demon. After a second, the copy would vanish, however. The real Genpaku had appeared behind Vohlis, still unarmed as he lashed out with a strong right open-palmed strike aimed for the shoulder whose arm currently clutched the spear; this was not so simple either, however. Genpaku had lashed out with the intent to use a focused Narusho(Echoing Palm). If the attack landed, he would attempt to funnel his reiatsu into the demon’s shoulder to try and disrupt the flow of energy into that shoulder, and hopefully deal a good deal of damage to the muscles as well. The spear was dangerous, and was the first thing that needed to be taken care of.

Genpaku seriously doubted that the Bakudo would hold the demon for long, however, and fully expected some kind of counter attack should his strike be unsuccessful; if the demon broke the bakudo before his strike had landed, he would instead redirect the punch to the demon’s forearm in an attempt to halt its motion, and aim to strike the demon with a roundhouse kick to the side of its head. If the first open-palmed strike had managed to land and the demon broke the bakudo and swung then, he would jump and dissolve the reiatsu platform he had been standing on, and aim to grab onto the man’s should and turn with him as he pivoted for the strike. From there, he would aim to strike him with a Hekisho roughly equivalent to a level 5 hadou in explosive power before attempting to gain distance and reassess his options.

Genpaku was unfortunate in his timing that he had not been able to witness either Vohlis’ introduction so he knew who he was dealing with, or the fact that Vohlis had access to several unique abilities from different people. He had no idea that Inoue Orihime’s barriers could be brought to bear, or that Kurosaki Ichigo’s Getsuga Tenshou could be launched. In some ways, he had rushed headlong into this battle without waiting to find out more, but there wasn’t much of a choice. For now, the stage was set above Sukai Karakura for the scene. Only 1 player had yet to appear, but it wouldn’t be long before he did. Solas would only be a moment behind Genapaku, and if he had thought he had the time he would have waited to ask her to help Berry. She may well do that anyway; he didn’t know. For now, it was time to see the opening acts.

EARLIER TODAY:

Eyah... today was a most interesting day. From having her new place within the SHTF, to speaking over this brand-new buzz of activity, Solas was most certainly beginning to be overwhelmed. A small sigh left her lips. How was it that people managed to complain about absolutely everything that happened in this world? She had heard that the guests today were to be diplomats, speaking on terms of what had happened in Cairo, Madrid and London. They had taken a lot of damage, but it was no use blaming people, you know? The girl slowly walked around the barracks at this time, getting more used to her surroundings and following Gen in his gigai as well. Yes, she was in her own one, of course! And she was even bothering to wear something business-like! Black stockings ran up her legs, accompanied by a cute white skirt and blazer, with a light purple shirt beneath. She didn't know why Genny had gone in his own clothes, but she felt that she needed to look somewhat nice, as well, you know? Mostly for the sake of their appearances. ”It’s always something around here…” She chuckled softly, and shook her head, "Better than being hounded by men over and over again, especially when there's a kid that they don't like nearby." A slightly laugh came from that, before Solas returned to her more serious expression.

They entered into an elevator that began to rise towards the lobby, and Solas felt herself starting to panic more and more. Pattering around a little, she looked left and right, tit-tatting a bit more and sighing. No, Solas. We need to be calm. Calm is the way to go, is it not? Yes, yes it is. ”I get the feeling that is going to be a long day…” Yup. Long day, indeed. They briefly had an introduction; Solas shaking one or two hands but making sure to keep an eye out for any sleazes. Didn't matter if they were dignitaries, it hurt to be hit down there either way. ”So, gentlemen, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?” English. Ookay. She could switch to that, she knew enough to get by. It's not like her parents weren't bilingual or anything. ”Our Leaders are demanding an explanation for the events surrounding London and Madrid, and for your actions in Cairo,” Oh, fucking COME ON! This man was ALREADY beginning to piss her off. She almost heard herself mocking him in a childish voice, 'demanding an explanat--BLAH BLAH BLAH!' ”We have already released a statement concern-“ ”Your statement, while a moving apology, failed to give our leaders an adequate explanation for why these events were allowed to transpire in the first place,” ...Ugh. She was almost ready to speak out, however she would not. We made every attempt to prevent and end the events in London; I personally was there attempting to stop it.” Mmhmm. She nodded. ”And what a magnificent job you did on that, Mr. Arishima.”

"...eyaaaah..."

INNER UNIVERSE

AN HOUR LATER:
”Gentlemen. We have ran this course for nearly an hour. You speak as though you have another offer; as though this were a simple war between men. You drastically underestimate our enemies. We are not dealing with men with guns or sword, bombs or lasers; we are dealing with demons and worse,” Oh, it was over? She sighed softly, and looked at Genpaku with worried eyes. He needed a rest, did he not? ”Contrary to what your leaders seem to be thinking anymore, we are doing everything we can to protect the Earth.” One of them appeared to be about to speak, when the sound of someone bursting through the door caused a mass turning towards said door. ”Arishima-taicho! A strong demonic presence had been detected within the confines of the Sukai dome, roughly a mile from headquarters! A member of the Yayjuu has already been deployed to attempt to deal with the situation. The Yuudeshi Network is going crazy currently with reports of the demon as well as reports from the Wastes sent by one Zin Yuudeshi reporting on some kind of strange uprising.” She gasped lightly. ”Get eyes on that situation in the wastes immediately, but spare as little as you can to do it. Inform the rest of Karakura to be on the lookout in case something goes wrong up here. We will handle the demon situation. Get these men out of here and safely back out of Sukai Karakura. I have watched one city be devoured in darkness, its citizens silenced in a moment of destruction. I will be damned before I do that again. Mobilize the reserves and inform the Yayjuu and Vizard Corps to run a perimeter check on the Karakura Dome. Be ready for anything.” She was about to exit her faux body, when she suddenly turned towards the men and lowered her gaze with a slightly frustrated look. "You know nothing of battle. All that you do is sit down and watch other people fight." Her bright blue eyes were sharp right now, staring at the very souls of these men as she spoke, "So if you wish to point fingers, blame yourselves. I'm sure there's something that you could do to help, as opposed to simply complaining..." “We are going Solas,” She nodded, and the faux body fell to the ground as simply as a piece of clothing.

Following him, she noticed that he'd waited for her to catch up and smiled softly at that. ”Seems like we’re in for a hell of a day. Keep up,” She nodded, and then blinked. He'd disappeared. Shunpo. Goddamn him. Sighing, she started to bound between buildings. Shunpo was not her strong point; in fact, performing it took too much out of her to be of any use. Ah, well. She started to run off now, following the energy signature of her Captain. Who knew that it'd be this difficult? Taking careful steps, she actually didn't arrive much later after Genpaku, who'd just released his seal with a, ”Sorry, but I’m going to cut the introductions. Gentei Kaijo,” She blinked, and looked around the situation, slightly confused. Ah, well. Making a rather overboard shrug of her shoulders, Solas reached over and picked up the zanpakuto off of her back, holding it long enough to speak, "Henkō-chū hane ni ten ni watashi toru, Majutsu-Chuna Biku." Replacing the staff, Solas now watched from afar, also keeping a single eye on Berry at the same time. If need be, she'd back Genpaku up.

If need be.

TelcinVohlis
Demon Lord
Time Limit: 7 (Turning Blue)

===========
Upon realizing that Vohlis does not have enough time to doddle. He flinches out of the bakudo with a simple burst spell that he can utilize with his pale hands. He then detects someone coming at him with intent of putting him down. When Genpaku appear above him, Vohlis's eyes narrows out the possibilities within a milisecond, turning the clone transparent to Vohlis alone. He then isolates the spiritual presence to the originator, Genpaku. With that detection, Vohlis simple sways to the side, narrowly evading the first strike entirely. He then disappears using Impossible Speed (demon flash step in English form). He reappears off to the distance from Genpaku, like a half of a football field. "Shatter, Senbonzakura." Vohlis speaks before his entire right arm decays into thousands of sakura petals, which are just miniature blades that can cut a person into pieces should they not be careful. Due to the widespread of the petals making them less obvious than how Byakuya uses them, it would be hard to tell which miniature blade will swipe first and where it would hit first. Vohlis looks at the leg and notices that it is crawling down his leg, enveloping his pelvis while crawling down the other leg. It will only be a matter of time before Vohlis could be completely covered in the blue that Berry applied with shikai.

If Solas was observant enough, Vohlis sets Genpaku in a trap where if he just rushes at Vohlis, he will get cut up badly by the sentinel blades floating about in between him and Vohlis. As for the other petals that are around Genpaku, Vohlis plans to goad Genpaku into rushing in after him. Seeing Solas in peripheral, Vohlis keeps eye contact with Genpaku so that Solas would not suspect him of using her as the motivation. Without hesitation, he silently commands three petals that are floating around Solas to surprise her. The three petals dart at her with the speed of an expert flashstep user, intending to cut her on the right thigh, left forearm and across the butt. In rotation, the three goes at Solas again with same speed at her left shin, right bicep and across her delicately sensitive nose tip. Third time around, it will be her left elbow, right ankle and down along her shirt and skirt to loosen them and harm not only her body, but her dignity as well. If it is enough to anger Genpaku to rush through and risk cutting an artery along the way, then Vohlis is successful.

He had been right then; as he struck out with the palm, the demon released a burst of energy and shattered the Bakudo before just barely dodging the strike. Genpaku had been prepared to dodge back if the demon lashed out, and yet it didn’t; instead it teleported away, taking a look at him and presumably Solas who had arrived after he had already launched his opening attack. Genpaku prepared himself for whatever the demon did next.
”Scatter, Sebonzakura.”
The display immediately following the demon’s words lent credence that this was no joke as the petals appeared. They began to float out and away, taking up a wider arc that you ever saw Byakuya use. This was going to be something of an issue; as they spread out they became harder to see, which made them more dangerous. He knew what his answer to this was though, his hand already drawing one of his Zanpaku-tous.

The demon simply stood there, behind what was effectively a wall of small blades that could be moved at the mind’s smallest command. How the hell had this Demon managed to get a hold of Byakuya’s shikai abilities? Was it an illusion? That may well have been the case, but it was better to act under the assumption that it wasn’t for the moment, rather than assume it was and get cut to ribbons. He couldn’t stall here too long though. He was lucky in that Vohlis didn’t want him to wait around, and have him more than adequate reason to make a decision; he heard a cry, and as he looked to the side he saw several of the blades assaulted Solas. Now either the demon knew that this was one of Genpaku’s particular ‘berserker buttons’ or just figured it would work. Either way, he was certainly right.

Genpaku’s eyes had left the demon for a fraction of a second; long enough to see what was happening to Solas. Now, many would assume his next course of action would be to jump straight for her to try and defend her from the blades. He knew her better than that; something like this wouldn’t be enough to take her out yet. So instead, he’d go straight of the source. A heavy weight suddenly crushed down on the area as Genpaku looked back at the demon.

”Wrong move,” he said, and activated Kyoumei.

Kyoumei was the technique that Genpaku had developed and mastered to quite a degree that allowed him to make use of the specific advantage he had been ‘born’ with, namely the two separate sets of Shinigami powers. His ancestors had passed down a set of powers to protect the family line, and he had somehow managed to attain his own Shinigami powers. Usually though, these two powers were distinct enough that they were in conflict, incapable of being utilized at the same time. However, Genpaku had experimented with this issue, and through a process of trial and error that had on more than one occasion nearly killed him, had discovered a way of synchronizing his reiatsu signature with those of his Zanpaku-tous, the physical manifestation of his Shinigami powers, allowing him access to both sets of powers.

And this was the first time his full power was felt, the feeling of a summer storm as Genpaku’s reiatsu changed from an ‘airy’ feel to a combination of air and electricity. While he had trained with this power often, he had not revealed it to enemies yet as he was unsure about the full effects of its use. He had concluded, however, after the events in London that he could not simply hide this kind of power when he should have been putting it to use. The first level of this was Kyoumei no Omoi, or Resonance of the Mind. This stage allowed him access to both sets of reiatsu at once. He didn’t stop there though; he ascended to the second level of Kyoumei, Kyouemi no San Kokoro. This level allowed him the unique ability to unreleased both of his Zanpaku-tous to the Shikai level. He would make full use of it here; as he did so, he wordlessly released Fujin.

He spent no more than half a second releasing this drastic increase in power (bringing him from the equivalent of a 1-1+ to a full 0-2+) before he launched forward towards the demon. He knew it had to be a trap, so as he shot forward he swung the now released Zanpaku-tou, sending a AoriShini (Reaping Gust) ahead of him. This attack was a blast of scything winds in a cone ahead of him that extended out to 40 feet, scattering the Sebonzakura petals in its wake as the attack rushed forward. However, the attack only pushed out to 60 feet, nowhere near where the Demon now stood. Yet Genpaku seemed to continue forward, pushing towards the Demon.

I say seemed because in reality Genpaku had already attempted to close the distance. Genpaku was one of the most proficient users in Shunpo and its variants around, and he had made user of one of the variants he had discovered now, one of the same ones he had used already. Sattou Semi was an Utsuemi variant that mimicked the movement of the user and continued in the same direction for four seconds after its initial use; that was the being that foolishly shot towards the demon through the wall of blades. It fit the trap perfectly too; here the reckless young captain seemed to have walked right into the trap and was about to be diced into pieces. Hopefully, it would seem as though he had forgotten his predicament in a fit of rage and rushed in instead of making his real move.

Two Mure no Utsusemi clones appeared above Vohlis as the first continued towards him. The one of the left held Fujin aloft, ready to bring the wind blade down onto the demon and lash him with the scarring wind blade. The second, over his right corner held a released Raiden and was stabbing forward attempting to stab him in the center with the blade. The question was which one was the real one? The simple answer was neither; Genpaku was below the demon, and already mid swing with his twin released Zanpaku-tous. He had activated Raiden’s Hiraishin, which coated the blade in electricity after having wordlessly released Raiden to Shikai as well. As he swung, he released a second burst of Aorishini in addition to a blast of Raiden’s Denko ability, which sent a wave of electrified reiatsu at the enemy. The two attacks mixed, resulting in a wave of scything, electrified blades being launched a mere ten feet from where the demon stood.

However, Raiden and Denko held a much more dangerous secret than the simply electricity abilities suggested. Raiden’s most dangerous ability was Sekkai, a powerful electrical effect with disrupted the nervous system and its connection to the brain. Effectively, as the electricity affected the target their reflexes would deteriorate. Hiraishin accelerated this process, but it was irrelevant for the Denko attack. The first application would drag the demon’s reaction time down to the normal human level, meaning that it would take .215 seconds between his eyes seeing something and his brain being able to react to it and move the body to deal with said situation. Each strike from Raiden beyond that would increase that time by 25%. With Hiraishin, however, that increase would be bolstered to a 50% increase. Raiden’s purpose had always been to protect Genpaku, and it had accomplished this by slowing the opponent down to the point that they could no longer keep up with his movements.

There were several ways around this effect, however. Should Vohlis move to a higher stage of power the stacks of Sekkai would be reset. Also, since only one stack would be applied from the Denko attack if Vohlis managed to not get struck for another 3 posts the stack would drop off on its own. Genpaku’s combination of attacks had been aimed to do more than just hit Vohlis, however. Denko has an effective range out to 100 feet while Aorishini had an effective damaging range out to 40 feet before turning into a simple wall of wind for another 20 feet. The wave of electricity would seek out the blade pieces, and should hinder their movement for a few moments. Meanwhile, the gust of wind should push the blade-petals away from him and Vohlis.

Having just moved into close quarters with a demon who was using a spear and controlling either some form of Sebonzakura, Genpaku was in what might have been an advantageous location at the moment. However, he wasn’t worried about that. He was counting on the rather drastic increase in his own power and the speed at which his attacks were coming to keep the demon off balance. Genpaku released another ability of Raiden shortly after the Denko; Banrai was the thunder to the pervious’ lightning. And exactly that happened; a crack of thunder sounded, amplified within an area of 20 feet around Genpaku which at the time of the attack being launch the demon should still have been in. The sonic blast was strong enough to shatter hollow masks and rupture ear drums, and Genpaku was hoping for something similar on the demon. Additionally, he was hoping that the sound wave would disrupt any incoming blade-petals that the demon attempted to use against him as a counter attack.

Genpaku’s next move would depend on how the demon reacted. Should Vohlis attempt to run away, he would make an attempt to intercept him by out-speeding him with a shunpo, and swing with Raiden to attempt to put another stack of Sekkai onto Vohlis to further hinder him while the effect of Berry’s Shikai continued to work. In this model Genpaku would hold Fujin back for the defensive; he held one of the most effective weapons for dealing with projectile-like attacks such as Sebonzakura while he held Fujin, though how Vohlis would know that who knows. Should Vohlis attempt to surround him after the follow up with the petals, he would attempt to activate Tokuteikiatsu(Cyclone Shield), which would bring up a spinning shield of reiatsu enhanced scything winds that should throw off the projectiles as well as cause some damage should Vohlis come into contact with it.

If instead the Demon attempted to strike out at him with the lance, he would make an attempt to parry the attack with Raiden and send a course of lightning up the lance into Vohlis’ arm to attempt to apply another stack of Sekkai, and would activate Tokuteikiatsu there, attempting to catch the demon in the shell of the air shield, and hopefully use the air shield to deal some real damage to the demon.

Of course, this was assuming the demon reacted in the ways he was expecting. Thus far the demon had proven to be strange and resourceful. There was no way of knowing that the demon wouldn’t pull another ability out of that lance and using it to lash out against Genpaku. Meanwhile, part of Genpaku’s mind was becoming accustom to the feel of the combined Reiatus. If he was lucky, this assault would bring the demon down long enough for whatever Berry did to fully affect the demon. Hopefully, he would have to go no further in his Kyoumei releases. But if it came to that, he would.

He also had to keep an eye on Solas; there was no telling when she’d release some torrent of Kidou’s at the demon. If she did, he’d move. She should have more than known that, by now, he could move out of the way of those Kidou. Now that part of him thought about it, this may well have been the first time he had released his full power in her presence. This was the first battle where they had been on the same battlefield and required real power that he could remember. Maybe he’d get to see her pull something out she hadn’t bothered to show him yet too. For now, that thought didn’t occupy the forefront of his mind; he was focused on the demon, his enemy, and how his assault had managed.

Bzzt, bzzt... A slight twitch came from the body of the girl, Reiatsu spreading out from her and energy crackling over her body. "Shatter, Senbonzakura." Yes, she had heard those words correctly. Narrowing the pair of glowing-pink, yet deep blue eyes, Solas took a single step back, her heart fluttering in her chest. This was one of the first truly serious battles that she herself had entered into, and to have Vohlis here was something of an amazement to her. Her eyes narrowed, and her hands tightened themselves into fists. She closed her eyes for a brief second, and prepared a Kidou in her right hand; "Hado: 4; Element: Holy; Movement: Misdirected; Distance: Far; Time until impact: 1 minute; Strength Level: 5." Her modification complete, Solas pointed a hand out to her side, almost completely away from Vohlis himself, out of the battlefield. "Hado 5, Delayed Strike, Holy Force!" The pure white energy crackled around her finger, and was shot off into the distance, flying at a speed that not many would be able to follow. That would come back around to bite Vohlis on the ass in a minute, literally. She stepped forwards, preparing to make her next move, when she suddenly felt something slice her right thigh. A quick burst of pain pushed through her body, before being allayed by another attack, on her left arm. She grit her teeth and then felt one slide across her butt. "Ah--" No, she couldn't shout out. If she made too loud a noise, then she would worry Genpaku. Biting her tongue, she took another step forwards-"Kyah!" That time, she made a noise, twisting her body as her left shin was cut. In an instant, her right bicep felt a sharp shuddering of pain. "FfffffWAH!" A loud noise left her lips, the feeling of a sudden cut across her nose causing her to place hands over her face. Blood ran down her pale flesh, and she shook her head. "D-damn you..."

"Does it piss you off, girlie?"

That smug voice again, huh? Oh, this most certainly pissed her off. Being assailed by these... things... pissed her off no end. Smirking to herself, Solas took one last step forwards; knowing what was about to happen. A cut on her elbow caused a hand to suddenly move to the now-bleeding appendage. Gah... And then on her ankle; this man was attempting to hurt her as best he could, right? Gritting her teeth, Solas closed her eyes and shook her head. Nonono, it wasn't going to get her down. Pain was nothing. Pain was simply a barrier that you could punch through. She flicked her arm out to the side, and suddenly felt the next cut. No, it was more than a cut. She could hear the sounds of tearing fabric as she went along, and it was suddenly all revealed. The cut down the very centre of her body caused her to cry out the most; rather loudly, Solas closing her eyes as a deep red glow started to cross her cheeks. She bit her lip and felt tears brimming the edges of her eyes; this... "He's going to embarrass me?" A small sniffle of worry, and Solas slowly raised her face to look up at the man that was now slowly growing blue in shade. She felt her body twitch, and a sudden uprising of rage instill itself in her form. A slightly guttural growl emanated from her lips, and as quickly as she'd recoiled, Solas' arms flew out to her sides, the now-ruined clothing simply flying off of her back as she did so. Pale flesh was revealed, covered with a violet bra and underwear. She grit her teeth. It was embarrassing to be revealed to the world like this; especially to someone as close and precious to her as Genpaku. Narrowing her eyes, Solas shook her head. It may have been embarrassing to have that done to you; but for Solas, it would be worse to be used in such a fashion. She watched Genpaku silently and near-naked, and felt the sudden surge of power come from his body. A soft smirk lined her face, and she tut-tutted slightly. "Foolish Demon."

"Power, is that what you seek?"

Didn't that Fluttering Soul just love to talk? No, she was right. Solas did look for her own power; it was what she could use to show Genpaku that she was strong enough to be at his side. It was what she would use to protect Mari. It was what she would use to prove herself. Chuckling lightly, Solas' hands raised themselves into the air, the brooch attached to her bra's effect now active. Yes, she attached it to her bra. If you think about it, nobody's going to look there for something that effectively doubles your spiritual energy, correct? Smirking, Solas closed her eyes, focusing her energies into the correct place. "Combine. Hado 63, Raikoho," One of her hands slowly started to gather electricity into the correct place, crackling as it did so. This energy finally gathered itself into an orb that glowed in the palm of her hand. She smirked, and then continued, "Bakudo 62, Hyapporankan." In her right hand, a rod formed itself, melding together from the spiritual energies in her hand. Smirking, Solas jumped into the air, feeling the cuts of a couple of petals that had hung around her body. "Combination; Kidou 64, Hundred Steps of Roaring Thunder." Her voice was monotonous, and as she pulled back her arm in order to throw the staff, she suddenly fired off the orb of energy at the target. The staff was thrown, and it collided with the bolt of energy, the two attacks slowly combining and then suddenly splitting into a hundred smaller bolts of energy, flying straight for Vohlis himself. Normally, this was a Bakudo designed to entrap the target against a surface, such as a wall. In this case, Solas had taken the property of multiplication and splitting, and combined it with Raikoho's explosive and damning energy, creating a hundred smaller attacks that would pepper the area around Vohlis and cause rather large amounts of damage over a large area. But, of course, Solas wasn't finished.

"Yes, that's it. Use your power to the maximum"

"Shut it, old hag." "--tch" Solas smirked, and while resuming her place in midair, held both arms out to the side once more. This time, she would be combining the effects of two Hado. "Combine. Hado 32, Okasen." The outstretched hands flipped around to her back, pulling her zanpakuto off of the holder that had remained intact, and flipping it into her hands in front of her. An orb of energy began gathering on the zanpakuto itself, before extending out for its length. "Hado 58, Tenran." Grinning, Solas started to spin the staff in a quick series of motions, the yellow line slowly becoming a yellow circle as she moved it; energy gathering up more and more as a wind started to whip itself up around in front of her. The barely-clothed woman chuckled and suddenly stopped the spin. "Hado 46, Yellow Fire Orchid!" A large gust of wind burst out in front of Solas, however there was something nominally different. In the centre of the gust, a yellow energy grew out, invoking a powerful explosive strength in the wind itself. While it would normally cause a little bit of damage and be more used for pushing back the opponent, the addition of Okasen in the attack meant that anything caught within the wind would now also be assailed with a powerful energy blast. She chuckled, and replaced her zanpakuto on her back. "Screw it, Genpaku's already at a high level, it's high time I went all out too!" Grinning, Solas raised a hand into the air and closed her eyes, her violet hair falling at her sides. Screw Shikai, it was time to show them what a real user of Kido could do. A confident grin split into her face, and she laughed softly.

"Do it. Do it now, Solas!"

"Ban... KAI!" A sudden burst of spiritual energy fluttered around her body, covering her previously-revealed flesh with a purple dress, which then spread out to show a black cloak of spiritual energy, flipping out to her sides. She grinned internally, and spoke relatively loudly. "Sengoku Kenja-chū Akutai." A hood went over her head, and she chuckled softly. "Oi, Demon. Let me show you what a real practitioner of Kido can do!" She shouted out loudly, and suddenly pushed back further into the air, looking down on Vohlis and Genpaku. By all rights, she could see that he was now... activating a burst of thunder. The loud noise caused the woman to grit her teeth and hold hands over her ears for a second. "Gah..." Bastard knew how to be loud and throw a party, didn't he? The next ability she would use would be one of her stronger ones; and she hoped that Genpaku would be able to keep up. Honestly, though, she wouldn't use something too powerful for this, just something to assail him enough for her commander to get in there. Shi no Kou was her 'Rain of Death', and something that one would... not appreciate being on the wrong end of. She didn't care if this man was whoever he was. He had cut her, and he was fighting Gen, and he was obviously evil! That meant that she would fight him! "Shi no Kou. Rain of Death. Hado 33, Sokatsui. Modify: Element: Life's Energy; Size: 50%; Speed: 200%; Level; +5. Hado 38, Holy Fire Crash Forth." Her eyes glowed a brighter pink as she accessed her already considerable stash of energy within the pocket dimension behind her. As quickly as she had announced the modified Kidou's name, white orbs of light suddenly materialized themselves within the area of the outstretched cloak. She was far enough away that she wouldn't be too bothered by those petals, and it took more than a few cuts to bring down Solas Foiche! "Ready." The glow from her cloak grew in strength, and she cackled softly.

"Aim." Her body shifted slightly, and the makeshift wings curved slightly inwards, pointing directly for, and only for, Vohlis. She smirked, and the glow surrounded her body with a white light, orbs now appearing in the realms of her cloak. "Fire." A monotonous command, one that could've been signifying anything; it signified the start of a rain of pure destruction. Raising her hand into the air in front of her, Solas smirked from under the hood. The first orb was fired, and then the floodgates opened, the sheer force of the attack's speed blowing back her hood as she did so and revealing her face with its determined expression and growling visage. Attacks flew from her wings now, and they flew directly for Vohlis at a speed that was quite staggering. At double the speed, half the size and boasting an extra five levels of strength of a normal Sokatsui, the attacks were nothing to be scoffed at. And attack upon attack now fired itself towards Vohlis, seemingly endless. Luckily these were not very draining Kidou; though Solas would only be able to keep this barrage up for a little while. It would allow for a good distraction though, and possibly give Genpaku the chance to formulate a quick strategy. Of course, Solas would follow Vohlis' body as he moved, and if she was to end up attacking Genpaku, then she'd likely stop--not that it'd do much damage to her commander, of course. A wild grin was on her face, and she almost felt like laughing it all away. This was just so much entertainment! Solas knew that she wasn't meant to enjoy something such as this, though she couldn't help but feel her heart soar as she watched the energy fly towards Vohlis. She almost willed him to hit her with energy back, restore her stocks.

"Don't be too hasty my girl."

"Hasty? This guy's strong, and I have a good reserve of energy. Don't worry too much." She chuckled, and watched the assault continue...

Demon Lord of Despair
End Time of the Fight: Canceled

Vohlis smirks as he can see that the infliction upon the woman was successful in the intention. Both the two shinigami are getting riled up in more than one way. With the petals in the air, he is just limiting the options for the enemies to take on, but it halfway worked. At least it will give him enough time to register what the blue one did to him. He looks down at his body and his eyes glow brightly with unnatural energy that can be felt as if it is not of any of the known worlds. Finally, he locks onto the source of the blue affliction and a diagram appears behind Vohlis as bright as his eyes can glow. If past victims of the past like Byakuya Kuchiki and Ichigo Kurosaki are around, they can pinpoint that it is the ability that Vohlis used to copy their signature attacks...Endless Arcanum. Suddenly after the diagram's appearance, the blue affliction stops spreading and starts to recede. It could create a new wonder of how a demon like Vohlis could counteract the effects of the blue ziamichi's shikai without using an antidote, let alone a specific antidote invented by Captain Unohana to accelerate the curing process of the blue affliction.

What gives him pleasure is seeing the girl in a panic and exposing her underlying despair of being exposed so near to her kindred who Vohlis assumes to be her superior, that shinigami who goes by Vohlis's nickname for him, "Gen-kun." Vohlis lets go of his halberd, TonoVonnei and it disappears into ashes as it was dismissed. "Wrong move." Gen-kun speaks to Vohlis. Anger is despair in form of violence and with that, Genpaku is also experiencing despair of letting his kindred get hurt so easily. "Foolish Demon." the woman speaks with arrogance that is trying to compensate for her now damaged security. Vohlis smirks and sends a mental message to the woman, "Touche." This comment alone marks that Vohlis is using them for something. If either of them are very observant enough, they can see that Vohlis is using his hearing to detect Solas's upcoming attacks while his eyes are more focused on the attacks used by Genpaku and Solas. "Recession of Intent." Vohlis calls out deeply, causing the petals to rapidly recede back to Vohlis to reform back to Vohlis's right arm that was absent through the event of the petals. Anyone (primarily both Solas and Genpaku) who are caught in the rapid recession would get cut up by the petals going at the speed and the force great enough to cut through the wind that was supposed to scatter them. In the end, the petals reaches Vohlis and reforms into his right arm.

Seeing that the girl is going to attack with a barrage of alternative rods while Gen-kun is planning to use the speed to close the gap while attempting to feint him. This is a tactic that Vohlis seen before and he snaps his fingers upon the arrival of the two clones. With the attack quickly approaching, Vohlis crouches with both fists clenching before standing up with fists thrust into the air. The barrage obtusely redirects itself into the dome's barrier, causing substantial damage to it. What happened is that Vohlis uses a bit of wind manipulation to hastened his steps the moment he snapped his fingers. He uses this enhancement to recreate the same trick that Byakuya uses with his flashstep...Utsuemi was it? Ah yes. So what Solas can see is that another Vohlis appeared behind Genpaku and just literally lifts her entire barrage into the dome, causing substantial damage to it. As for the while, Genpaku can only see Vohlis standing still before disappearing upon connection. As a taunt, Vohlis half-heartily salutes to the woman as if thanking her for helping him. with the attacks evaded and manipulated, Vohlis notices that the woman is setting up for another attack.

Combination Kido...Demons made these spells for a reason and it is for their servants to be able to subdue or eliminate traitors, but much to the displeasure of the original Demon Lords, it falls into the hands of spirits who arrogantly called themselves "Death Gods," while infused with kido, they are also capable of deeper understanding of their powers, thus gave birth to the Zanpakutou. "Hado number three, byakurai. Jigsoku Sudoku Variant. Release." Vohlis speaks deeply with a hint of internal echoes. While in the middle of the incantation for the combined kido attack, Solas can see that Vohlis is already a very short distance from her position. Utilizing an ancient manipulation technique, Vohlis grabs the woman's wrists, catching the attack the moment she is bound to release it. Vohlis absorbs the attack and channels it through his spiritual energy nodes within him, enhancing the attack three folds upon release from his two extended fingers pointing skyward. The attack quickly rushes at the dome's ceiling and cracks it further. It seems the plan was to use the unwitty woman to cause severe damage to the dome, leaving it potentially exposed to attacks from the outside. Suddenly, he hears, "Ban...KAI!" before being blasted away from the woman. The sudden increase in power catching him off-guard was personally a blunder for him as he was too busy channeling all that energy into the dome.

Seeing that he expends more than desired, Vohlis shifts back to his sealed state which is in the form of a little lolita girl with a mysterious drop in spiritual pressure. He hears the incantations for a spell that Vohlis would be familiar with, but the variation was different for once. There is something about that woman that intrigues him. Upon the command, "Fire," Vohlis watches the attack gathers up for a final blow and in retaliation, Vohlis pulls out a ragged sutra that seems to be old enough to be from a veteran kido user long ago. He holds it out in between himself and the attack. The next thing it happens, Vohlis was receives the hit and looks as if he was torn apart by the attack as pieces are floating around after the destruction. The sutra disappears with Vohlis, leaving no clue as to what it is or how he manages to acquire it. All Genpaku and Solas could tell, Solas obliterated Vohlis while he is weakened.

It wasn’t working. Despite a substantial increase in power on his part from the first time release of Kyoumei and the application of more force than he had ever brought to bear against a single foe to this point, this was progressing as a repeat of London as his assault failed spectacularly. To begin with, when he had made the initial charge he had failed to deflect all of the petal-blades as they had rushed back in to their source, and he had been rewarded with a series of gashes along his upper arms and shoulders. From there Vohlis proceed to, from his point of view, evade the entirety of his assault with what looked like practiced ease, as though he was making childish sport of it. Not a single wind blade or spark of lightning or edge of steel found purchase on his opponent. Instead, Vohlis nimbly avoided the strikes after having dismissed whatever effect Berry had inflicted upon him earlier. From somewhere behind him, he felt a sudden increase in Solas’ power; he moved in for another strike against the demon, unleashing Banrai as he did. Vohlis vanished, appearing behind Genpaku. He turned to face the demon.

He changed his mind when he saw Solas, already locked on to the demon with a mass amount of glowing energy around her. He took a single step, traveling roughly 60 meters away from where he had been as Solas’ barrage crashed down, and he turned to watch it strike Vohlis and the dome behind him. Genpaku stood and watched as Solas managed to do in one fell sweep what he had failed to do with his entire barrage; namely striking the demon and grinding it to utter dust behind the force of the assault. When had she grown so strong, so as to be able to catch an opponent he had been powerless to? He dismissed Kyoumei as he stood there, his Zanpaku-tous returning to their sealed states as he watched the final moments of the demon Vohlis. Already he felt the familiar tension building in his shoulders which agitated the cuts from earlier. He placed a hand on his shoulder as a soft green light appeared around his hand, and the wounds began to heal.

He looked down; he didn’t have time to ruminate on this failure yet. Berry lay below, heavily damaged from the earlier encounter with the demon. Another step and Genpaku was at the Ziamiichi’s side, kneeling down as he placed his hands over the prone figure. It had been said that Genpaku had a knack for healing Kidō, and if he had not been gifted with the “exceptional” battle prowess he possessed he may well have ended up in the Fourth Division of the Gotei. At this specific moment, he wondered if he would have done more good there than being a hazard on the front lines. He kept his face carefully guarded; a composed mask of neutral expression as he focused on the healing Kidō.

If the fight had continued, and Solas not been here would this event have been a repeat of London? Most would be able to tell you no, but Genpaku was not so sure at this point. From his point of view he had been able to do nothing more than make Vohlis dodge, which had given enough time for Solas to ramp up to the impressive display she had unleashed against the demon. There was tactical value there, yes. However, was that all he was capable of doing? At that moment, that’s what Genpaku felt; that he had been nothing more than a showy distraction.

Now, was he being overly hard on himself here? Most assuredly. Then again, that was how he had been since the events in London. In his mind it didn’t matter if he was being too hard on himself; if he could not protect the cities he was supposed to, then what exactly was he worth? If he was not able to lay a finger on his enemies, then he was worthless in battle as far as he was concerned, and for the SHTF Commander to be worthless meant the front lines of this war were weak. He couldn’t have that.

Solas would be done any moment after having made sure the demon was disposed of. He carefully rearranged his features as she approached, and looked over at her with what may have passed for his normal smile, if a little dampened.

”Well that was eventful. When the hell did you get so much power? We’ll have to call in some people to repair the damage to the dome, but good job,” he said in his best attempt at his normal tone before looking back at Berry and apparently focusing on the Kidō once more.
”No new word of demons or anything from the base correct? I don’t sense anything, but I may just be rusty at the moment or something,” he asked.

Several alarms began to go off, late to the party as always. People were beginning to gather a ways off to see what they could see of the events that had just rapidly transpired high above the ground. It was time for the cleanup. As much as Genpaku wanted to head back and think for a while, he was in no hurry to deal with the old men sitting in the conference room. Maybe he’d just dismiss them and use the time to think instead.

{PREQUEL} A Chance of a Lifetime Empty Re: {PREQUEL} A Chance of a Lifetime

Agh, why wasn't it working?! The girl felt her frustration rise as the first set of attacks from Genpaku were almost completely dodged, dying away from the series of assaults that she was certainly preparing to formulate herself. As she continued to think on her next attack, she felt herself being cut through by more of the blades, this time without clothing to hide behind. She shouted out in pain as tens upon tens of red lines scattered over her pale flesh, though she didn't diverge from her attacking intent, still firing off the attacks that she needed to. She watched him for a second, the Demonic entity disappearing and appearing behind Genpaku agai--no, there were two! What was it called? Uhh... Ut... utsu... Utsuemi! Right. She swallowed back her worries, instead focusing on the current happenings as they occurred. "Hadō number three, byakurai. Jigsoku Sudoku Variant. Release." Damnit, he was approaching faster; she needed to hurry up and finish her... CHANT! Her wrists were suddenly grabbed as Solas began to struggle in worry. The attacks fired off as usual, but something different happened; something that she was not expecting. She shouted out for a single half-second, before smirking as the attacks arced around and hit her body. She felt herself smoking slightly, but didn't let it bother her. "Using Kidō near me. Last mistake you'll ever make... Ban...KAI!"

She'd caught him off guard with that, even she could see it as she prepared the barrage of thousands upon thousands of Kidō. She wasn't sure if it'd work, but the moment she spoke the word "Fire," she was no longer letting those worry her. Instead, her worries would fly free with the Kidō as they blasted towards Vohlis' position once more. Her face revealed, she almost stopped breathing in order to watch what would become of this attack. Would it be dodged or countered, just like Genpaku's attacks? A second or so later and Solas blinked. Where was... that little girl on the ground, was that Vohlis? It seemed he'd changed into such a form. It was too late now, though. The attacks flew straight onto the ground, peppering it with holy flames, extinguishing everything upon its surface. She watched through the flickering whiteness, looking for any signs of that creature that she had just attacked. He was... he was gone? Lowering herself tentatively to the ground, Solas levitated over to Genpaku and Berry, watching the pair with worry soaking through blue orbs. He was attempting to heal the other, correct? Sighing softly, Solas floated before both Genpaku and Berry, watching with calm eyes. "Here, let me help." As before, the wings began to glow, though the were reminiscent of a green color as opposed to white this time. She whispered silent statements, preparing the Kidō as she did so.

"Shi no Kou. Rain of Death. Healing Kidō; Element: Life's Energy; Level; +5. Life Restoration, fire." Without warning, a green glow suddenly engulfed both Genpaku and Berry, Solas' face unchanging. She slowly started to drain herself of further energy, siphoning it from her own pocket dimension and inserting it into the pair in order to heal them properly. She allowed it to occur for a few seconds, before letting it dissipate along with the cloak. She landed on the ground, her capacity suddenly realized and exceeded. Closing her eyes for a half-second, Solas felt a sudden burst of energy spread out from her mostly-naked back, falling forwards and landing on one knee with a groan. "Never... going to get used to that," Was the whispered statement from the Kidō Master's lips. ”Well that was eventful." "Eventful my ass." Was on her mind, though she decided against saying such things to be nice to the guy. "When the hell did you get so much power?" She was puffing heavily on the ground, kneeling down and closing her eyes in order to gather back some of her focus from the sudden change. "Haah... long... story... and I'm still... really weak..." She swallowed saliva, slowly getting to her feet and staring at the man through eyes that showed exhaustion.

We’ll have to call in some people to repair the damage to the dome, but good job,” She could see it in his face and hear it in the slight waver of his voice. Even if he was attempting to hide it well, she'd known him for long enough to know that something wasn't okay. "T-tell the truth, d-damn you. If you hadn't done what you had done, he would've had more than enough energy to counter my assault..." She coughed out a little, gritting her teeth. "All I did was finish him off. You did... most of the work, idiot..." She smiled softly at him, slowly falling forwards towards the ground, hearing his voice speak up once more. ”No new word of demons or anything from the base correct? I don’t sense anything, but I may just be rus..." Without warning, her vision blacked out and Solas Foiche collapsed onto the ground. Her energy wasn't spent, but she was just tired. The rapid-fire battle had caused her to physically drain herself... she was exhausted beyond belief.

Genpaku sensed Solas approach and spoke his piece. While he was healing Berry, he sensed an intake of energy accompanying her comment; he turned. Had he been wrong? Had Vohlis survived the assault and impersonated Solas’s energy to approach and launch an attack at close range? Solas’ healing Kidō washed over both him and the unconscious Ziamichi; his wounds slowly healed. Shortly thereafter Solas’ bankai faded, leaving her in nothing more than her undergarments and sufficiently drained of energy for the time being. Oddly, this wasn’t the first time Genpaku had seen her in such a state, though this was the first time this type of situation had led directly to this as an outcome. Besides, Genpaku was more interested in what she had to say at this particular point.
"T-tell the truth, d-damn you. If you hadn't done what you had done, he would've had more than enough energy to counter my assault..." She coughed out a little, gritting her teeth. "All I did was finish him off. You did... most of the work, idiot..."

He gave a small smile; he knew that was coming. He hadn’t hid the waiver in his voice well enough. Then again, Solas had been his best friend for hundreds of years now; if anyone was going to be able to see through his façade it was going to be her. He was about to retort when he saw her waiver and begin to tip forward. He covered the distance and kept her from slamming her head into the pavement.

“You would say that,” he muttered with a chuckle. The crowd was gathering about the scene. He pulled off his Captain’s cloak and draped it over her to keep wandering eyes away. At this point several other division members appeared; he didn’t bother to turn to them.
”Contact that Yayjuu and let them know that we have taken Berry into our care to treat the injuries and ensure a recovery. I’ll take Lieutenant Foiche back myself. Double check all vital areas, run a perimeter scan, and run a scan to make sure everything else is running properly. Contact Soul Society and inform them that Vohlis may have been defeated here by Lieutenant Foiche, that we are running a sweep to ensure that Sukai Karakura and Karakura at large is clear. Relay to them also that I require a meeting with the Captain Commander at the earliest convenience.”

He got confirmation from the members. They began to relay the orders while others prepared to move Berry. Genpaku lifted Solas off the ground and without wasting time took a step and vanished from the scene. It would be a week before he would get his audience with the Captain Commander, and at that time Vanguard would be formed.

The Special Human Task Force’s patrols would last another two days after the fight, making sure that nothing had been set and that no demons were lying in wait. They weren’t; they danced in Genpaku’s head instead.
