Appearance: Appears to being in his early twenties, his blonde hair is usually unkempt and long enough to reach below his shoulders. He has blue eyes and his family name tattooed on his back. His default attire is black beater shirt under a blue vest a white colored image of the symbol seen on a shinigami badge on the back of it. He wear's denim jeans and pair of black and white sneakers. Its also rare that he's seen without his signature black fingerless gloves. For facial feature see image below. When not using a faux body, his where's standard shinigami uniform, except for the sleaveless white shitegi(undershirt), and the shinigami's Kosode(the actual black uniform) he prefers to keep open. His Zanpakutō sheath is held on his back on his waist and its handle is facing the right side.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Personality: In his younger days, Eriko was reckless and stubborn youth with a hatred for anything he found unjust. He hated seeing people suffering and would try to do all he could to help, no matter how naive he would have seem. Since then he has matured and learned a little more of how the world works. He still hates seeing people suffer but now is a little more aware of what he can and can't do. Well mannered and not as easily tempered as he used to be, Eriko keeps a calm head in most situations,
but is still every bit as hot blooded. After having multiple annoying situations with women, his pervert status is now a cross between closet pervert and more a covert perv. He likes playing video games, is a big professional wrestling fan, and enjoys combat, though not to the point of killing his opponent and will not do so if it can be avoided. He still has not gotten over his phobia of snakes, but has little more tolerance to being near them. He also prefers bending the rules and finding loopholes in his orders when he feels the situation calls for it. As he grew older he found himself taking a liking to motorcycles while spending time in the world of the living.

B A C K G R O U N D

History/Background:

Eriko was originally born in the soul society, son of the first
generation's 9th Division Captain. He spent 10 years of his life
training in his family's Dojo in Rukon District 16. His family lived in
the Seireitei originally but he and his sister, Freya would go to the training school to practice sword techniques. It during this time he would develop his distaste for things that seem wrong. The people of the Rukon district lived in poverty for most of their lives and the only ones who got out were those who had shown signs of having enough spirit energy to be able to train and become a shinigami. Otherwise you lived in Rukongai, along side all kinds of thugs and had to scratch and claw to survive. He hated seeing people struggle like that and resolved to use the spirit energy he'd inherited and climb the ladders of the Gotei 13 in hopes to change the laws that bind those outside the walls of Seireitei.

He entered academy at 100 years and excelled mostly
at Zanjutsu and Hakuda techniques. During his time in the academy he'd met several students who would later become relevant shinigami in their own rights, among them being Toushirou Hitsugaya, who would he would later become squad members with, and eventually a subordinate of. He finished the 6 years required and was placed in the Onmitsukido due to his practice of several hoho techniques. While enjoying the lessons he learned based around stealth and intelligence gathering, he still favored the front lines of battle and asked to be transferred to one of the Gotei 13. He was placed in squad 10, with his former classmate, and very attractive Lieutenant, Rangiku Matsumoto. While in Squad 10, Eriko learned the name of his Zanpakutō, Raikiryuu. Unfortunately he hadn't time to release his shikai before the squad was sent on a mission to defeat a hollow that found its way into soul society. The hollow succeeded in injuring some of the squad and was about to devour one that was already knocked off his feet. His releases his Zanpakutō and unleashes enough electricity to completely disintegrate the beast. Whether he had unleashed that power on purpose or it came from his emotional resolve he'd not figure out until later.

After spending time in Squad 10, Eriko witnesses Toushirou promotion to Captain congratulating him on his success. At first he was jealous at how fast a boy younger than him had progressed but, considering that Toushirou was the prodigy that was born every 2000 years. He was glad to stay long enough for his former classmates promotion, because afterward, Eriko would be transfered to Squad 2, under Soi Fon. With his studies over Hoho and numerous skills in Zanjutsu and Hakuda, he was moved to position where his skills would be put to better use and where he could better develop them. He'd also been promoted to 3rd Seat, and his dream of eventually changing the rules seem closer.

From then on he'd train under Soi Fon mastering Hakuda and increasing his sword skills. As he spent more time with the squad 2 captain, he became infatuated with her, not that he'd say anything about it to her or to anyone else in Squad 2. The only people he'd trust to keep his secrets were in other squads and even then, some of which he would say anything to without being able to supervise them. Despite his feelings, Soi Fon's way of building relationships with subordinates was at times infuriating, though effective. Soi Fon was infamous for her belief that animosity between subordinates and superiors was better suited for training. At times he'd train just so he could avoid being attacked by his captain.

While serving in the Gotei 13, Eriko meets a fox girl named Chinchuro. Feeling that she was falsely imprisoned on grounds of being a possible subject of research by Squad 12, Eriko uses his connections to plan her escape to the real world, where she would stay and hideout. Eriko was reprimanded for his actions and would spend a few months incarcerated for assisting the escape of a prisoner. Considering the grounds of which Chinchuro was captured, he sentence was short and he would return to find the girl. They would later begin a relationship together.

Eriko and Chinchuro dated for a few years, which went well for both parties. Eriko had his mind off of his original crush, and a cute fox girl friend who he cared deeply for. She eventually regained her access to Soul Society and they would spend time together in both worlds often He himself thought their bond was unbreakable, until Chinchuro betrayed him and revealed her connection to KJ Yunashi, a fugitive of Soul Society.

She merely gained his trust to for the freedom to move through Soul Society and start stealing research plans. Eriko was aware of her sneaking through the Seireitei but not aware of why. He'd find out during an emergency one night where Chinchuro had stolen some important research. He would follow her to find the answers he wanted, but his path would be impeded by Radioactive. Chinchuro tells Eriko that she and Radioactive are two of KJ's own creations and loyally serve him. She also notes her relationship with Radioactive, that he is her true lover and reaffirms Eriko beliefs that the past two years with her was a lie. Eriko contains his emotions and ops to fight Chinchuro and Radioactive two on one. Radioactive was the ultimate monster made for battle. With Chinchuro's support, Eriko was easily beaten. Soifon catches up to the battlefield and they quickly escape together. Soifon notes that her coming to save him is becoming a habit and that he needs to make better decision if he's gonna be dating girls he only known for a short time. As much as he hated getting dating advice from probably the woman that is the most anti-social non relationship having person in Soul Society. He secretly admits that she is write about being wary of his partners when he seems suspicious of them. He hides his disappointment but decides to meet Chinchuro again to settle things.

When the time for the final battle with KJ comes, Eriko finds Chinchuro and fights her while in the middle of a storm. Eriko, now fighting in his element uses his Zanpakutō's power over lightning and electricity he fights Chinchuro's armored beast form. Because of the heavy armor and focus more on offfense rather than the speed she previously had, Eriko defeats Chinchuro using a combination of bakudo Kidō, and numerous lighting attacks, culminating in the breaking of Chinchuro's armor and driving his sword through and releasing all of the built up energy Raikiryuu had stored through out the fight. This was not enough to kill the girl however, and Eriko leaves her alive, not out of his feelings for her, but out of his reluctance to kill a woman. He'd never see her again afterword.

Eriko would work with Squad 2 for years to come, training to release his Zanpakutō's bankai, and occasionally make visits to the world of the living for missions or even recreation and vacation. During which he'd attend wrestling shows, buy video games and discover his numerous interest found in the world of the living. He'd make multiple friends out of the humans, of which include one Agito Wanijima, a child with a multiple personality together. They met when they fought together during a mass hollow attack in Karakura Town and after word became good friends. He has not seen him in years and expects that he had died by now and had gone to Soul Society.

He finally achieved Raikiryuu's Bankai before the start of the winter war against Aizen. Sadly, upon attaining it, he didn't have time to practice controlling and it served as a hindrance in his abilities during the war. Eriko, assisted by several members of squad 2 who were brought to the Fake Karakura town, was fight a Gillian class Menos, using Bankai of course. At first he fought with no problem, but because he lacked the experience needed to properly use his Zanpakutō, it resulted in him being blasted by a cero. Injured and outmatched, Eriko felt helpless and he hated that feeling, have to watch while his comrades struggled in a battle they had little chance of winning. He thought his time was up, but fate would not have it that day. Soi Fon arrives just in time to defeat the Menos Grande, quickly dispatching it using her Suzumebachi. She chewed him out for engaging an Menos without being more careful, and for being so eager to use a technique he could not fully control, that he put the lives of Squad Mates in danger. This experience forces Eriko to makes some changes to his training and he pleads with Soi Fon to help him become stronger, so that he doesn't have endure that feeling of hopelessness again.

During his training, Soifon decided that she alone could not get Eriko the kind of progress he was looking for in his training. She recommended seeking out help from her former mentor, Yoruichi Shihouin. Eriko had previously met Yoruichi multiple times, but had thought about asking for her assistance in his training. He'd also knows about Soifon's blatant worship of her and is annoyed by it, out of his own jealousy of course. Yoruichi agreed to help him on the grounds that was willing to go through with her excruciating methods. He and Soifon would come to the training room under Kisuke Urahara's shop every day for practice.

Yoruichi's methods were extremely dangerous, but effective. At first it was just learning to fight without using his Zanpakutō. Both her and Soifon would come at him at full force every day they trained, full force and his only task was to survive. Every time he showed signs of getting use to their attacks and his sense would adapt to their movement, they fight back harder. It even came to points where Eriko got injuries inflicted from the attacks. Despite what pain was inflicted, Eriko continue to pursue strength. He'd not forgotten his dream of one day changing how Soul Society is governed. This has been the reason for all the progress he'd made and wanted to keep making. All of his training culminates in one final bout with Yoruichi. He would fight using his sword, while Yoruichi used the same gauntlets she fought with during the battle with Sosuke Aizen. Eriko had little problem dodging her attacks, and dodging was the only option. Taking a hit from Yoruichi would result in massive unwanted damage. He chooses to dodge Yoruichi attacks, and exploit any openings. Eriko's training pays off as he keeps up with even Yoruichi's speed and ability. Wanting to test how much power his Zanpakutō's absorption ability and fires her Shunko! Eriko catches the attack and absorbs some of the spirit energy. When he goes to lash back at Yoruichi, the recoil knocks him back and into debris behind and the energy released flies off in multiple directions. This, in turn caused much of the training room's interior was destroyed and there were some damages to the shop itself. Ignoring the property damages and one raging Kisuke, Eriko notices his sword still sparking a glowing with yellow spiritual pressure, presumably Yoruichi's Shunko. The glow eventually dies out and Raikiryuu's spiritual pressure fades. Eriko believed that his Zanpakutō was merely strained from trying to take Shunko's power. He feels that something is different about his sword, as if Raikiryuu has was in pain and was suffering. He would then seal his shikai and sit down and begin meditating, while his conscious would return to the world of his Zanpakutō to investigate.

The inner world is in chaos, dark clouds and a lightning storm overhead, and Raikiryuu lying in the courtyard her face red and inflicted with Fever, her body giving off electricity. Normal, when Raikiryuu gave off its electricty, he would not get shocked, but it was not the case now as when Eriko tried carry his Zanpakutō, she shocks his hands. Eriko then comes out of his trance in the real world and explains the situation to his training tutors. Kisuke theorizes that Raikiryuu took in too much foreign spiritual energy to convert to its own and overloaded, resulting her current state. He tells Eriko to wait a few days, and if the sword hasn't recovered, then try to expel the energy himself by draining it using one of the shop's items, which Kisuke would sell at a discount.

Two days past and the time comes to drain Raikiryuu's energy. Kisuke tells Eriko that the process will drain much of Raikiryuu's energy, so much that some of Raikiryuu abilities will be greatly hindered. Eriko chooses to still go through with the procedure and Raikiryuu is drained of not only the Shunko she previously absorbed, but much her own. She would take a long time to recover her power and it could quite possibly come back very slowly. Soifon and Yoruichi opp to end the training as that was the last session, and Eriko must make the choice of what do until his sword's energy recovers. Since his swords energy was drained, he hasn't been able to use the Bankai he worked to so hard to control. He ended up having to make a decision for future plans.

Eriko decides that now is time to take a rest from his work as a Shinigami, not completely retire, but to be removed from his position and stationed in the human world for the time being. The terms were that he was not required to be stationed in a particular town, but defeat any threats to humanity during his time away. Also, while he was away from Soul Society, he position as Squad 2 3rd seat would not be held for him. It was step in the opposite direction of his, but a unavoidable one as he'd be useless to his Squad at this point. He spent his time traveling the world, seeing the sites, and killing whatever enemies he find.

Zanpakutô Spirit Name: Raikiryuu

InnerWorld: Raikiryuu's Zanpakutō world is large imperial complex, a courtyard surrounded by cinder block walls, and the actual building itself being reminiscent of a noble's home, or a large eastern style complex. The courtyard is usually were Eriko finds himself when first entering.

Raikiryuu takes form in the image above, except he hilt is blue rather than red. Its scabbard grows to fit Raikiryuu's new size and develops a white lightning pattern down the sheath.

Shikai Abilities: Looking at its namesake, Raikiryuu manipulates lighting and electricity, and electricity it gives off is always white with a blue hue. When the hilt is turned, it stores up electricity in the sword. This can be done 3 times before Raikiryuu refuses to charge anymore. At 1 charge it has gives and electrical, while at stages 2 and 3, it gives off a glow that increases with the charge. The electricity stored can be used to attack. Electricity is released by pulling the brake handle on the sword's
hilt. Also at the base of Raikiryuu's blade is a vertical guage of 3 bars. With each charge, 1 bar lights up.

Electricity Buff: When the sword has at least one charged, the aura it develops gives sword deals electricity based damage.

Shuuraiken: Charges 2 and 3, swinging the sword while the brake is pulled shoots wave electrical spirit pressures.

Absorb Electricity: Raikiryuu can absorb multiple forms of electricity by pulling back the brake and catching the electricity flow with his sword, and use it as charges for his attacks. All electricity he absorbs is imbued with his Spiritual Pressure.

Electricity Manipulation: As long Eriko holds on to his sword, he can control and manipulate electricity imbued with his spiritual pressure.

Electromagnetic Barrier: By combining his own spiritual pressure with particles in the air, he can manipulate them into creating a shield that can block most projectile attacks, including low tier cero, bala, and low level Hadō. It does so by repelling the incoming attack's magnetic field.

Kougouheika Raikiryuu

Bankai Description: To release, Eriko places the Zanpakutō into its sheath, pulls back the brake handle and raises the sword into air pointing toward the sky. Lighting strikes the blade and it transforms. An image of its appearance will be posted at a later date...Yeah I drew it.

Bankai Abilities: Kougouheika Raikiryuu retains all of its previous abilities. It now has the power to cause lightning to strike on its own. This is done with a swing of of his sword for quick swing causing a bolt to hits wherever the sword is swung.

Ruinous Lightning: When Kougouheika Raikiryuu is fully charged, Eriko points the sword towards the sky and releases the charge into the clouds. The sky flashes and bolt of lightning hits the ground which repeatedly hits an moves on the ground. Like the rest of his attacks, Eriko can't control where it his and how it moves.

For the time being, Bankai is unusable.

R P S A M P L E

Eriko walks through Karakura Town on his way to the Urahara Shouten. It was time to collect his payment from Soul Society for his destroying of hollows as of recent. He'd been looking forward to using the payment to finance the next set of video games he'd be buying soon. As he recalls the list of games he plans buy in his head, his cell phone began ringing. "Hmm, a hollow eh? Figures, they always turn up right when he was doing something fun or important. He sighs then reaches into his pocket, pulling out Gikon despenser. He presses down on its head and pops a soul candy into his mouth. His spirit body blasts out of his gigai which almost falls but catches its balance. "Alright, you go to the Urahara Shouten and wait for me there. And please try to make sure Urahara doesn't start making claims on any depts I owe him." Eriko was always having anything he bought from the Urahara Shop placed on his tab and he'd pay it back later. Eriko then disappears in flash, pun intended. He arrives in a alleyway in a residential district of Karakura. The alley was unclean, barren, wind blowing papers and kicking up dirt. Other than a garbage container which gave off a strong off putting odor, he saw nothing. He could still sense that the target he was after was still nearby. He then hears a loud screaching noise from above. When Eriko looks up toward the direction heard the sound from, a giant eagle looking hollow swoops down trying grab Eriko with its claws. "Tch," Eriko dives foward and rolls back to one knee while the Hollow sweeps pass him and swoops past him. It quickly turns around and lands, its wings spread to intimidate its prey. "CAAAAWWWWW" It monstrously screamed. "I KNEW THAT I SMELLED THE SOUL OF A SHINIGAMI! COME BOY, FOR YOU SHALL BE MY NEXT MEAL!"

Eriko laughed under his breath. "Pah, I'll be laying in some land fill outside of town before being you meal." Eriko dusted of his shihakushou and got into his fighting stance leaving his Zanpakutō sheathed. The eagle like hollow tilted its head to the side. "Fighting barehanded? You are going to challenge me without your sword lowly Shinigami?"

"I don't need my sword to defeat a low grade hollow like yourself." He mocks his target and waits for its attack. Angered, the hollow flaps its wings to elevate itself again, kicking more dust for the ground. Eriko covers his eyes to keep from getting anything in his eyes as the hollow flies and grabs him with its claws. Eriko tries squirming out of the beasts grip to avail. The hollow takes Eriko to a clearing outside of town. "Here I can eat you without having to worry about more of your kind coming after me." Eriko gives a hard elbow the eagles talon which forces it to drop him.

"You also just made this a lot more easy. I can crush you out here without attracting attention for the locals." Eriko the dashes at the hollow, disapears and reappears in the air above its head about to stike. "See you later creep!" Black screen.
