The Demon Maggots of Hell

History

Demon maggots are demons who are at the lowest of the demon hierarchy and often used as soldiers, assassins, lesser guards and servants if there is not a human available. In the ancient history, they are known as a dying breed of demonic rejects of Ender before the Demon Lord, Vohlis gave them an intervention through experimentation. They are still the twisted version of Humans, commonly called "Orcs" to Humans and those who are of the Iramasha Clan. However, due to experimentation upon humans, Vohlis became the first demon to manufacture demon maggots and officially turned them into the most common demons to encounter in history. Even the dukes and greater demons began utilizing them for attacks and invasions, but invasions are rare as demon maggots are still considered wild and rarely would cooperate with the other demons except what they called Vohlis as "Their Brood Father."

The Brood Mothers are the second to become a reality when Vohlis experimented the Demon Maggot Blood on human women. The blood is poisonous as it killed some of the women before the First Brood Mother was born as she devoured both survivors and the women who did not receive their fate yet. The First Brood Mother called, "Ak'Mama" soon became immobile due to unnatural feeding that turned her into a monstrously huge birthing monster producing a small brood of orcs per week. It is rumored within the Iramasha Clan that Ak'Mama still lives due to the demon maggot blood granting her immortality and she was hidden all this time even for the future.

The third arrival was the Rider, demonic undead humans who are killed by the demon maggot blood only to be revived by the embedded blood. Long ago during the time when France were separated into shires, there are nine Riders total and enacted as generals for the Demon Maggots as believed to be the closest few to their Brood Father and thus are called the "True Children of the Brood Father." The original nine Riders are slain by the resisting barbarians with the help of the Soul Society and the Iramasha Clan. Ever since then, they are never seen for over two-thousand years.

The final arrival were the Trolls when Ak'Mama produced a massive creature in the year 1766. Vohlis became intrigued with that outcome and decided to find a way to make producing Trolls more frequent. By year 1861, Vohlis perfected the method of producing trolls more frequently. He created a Demon Maggot through the use of magic and a rare human sacrifice to Lake Azrael, giving birth to a living spawning pool, Hadriel Duran. Despite her personality saying otherwise, Vohlis gave her the purpose only to produce more demon maggots, primarily trolls. As a result, every war band recorded since 1862 have at least one troll per four orcs. However, without the Riders, the trolls are nothing more than just ill-prepared captains for the war bands who can only back up their fearsome appearance with pure force capable of toppling a Abraham tank by ramming.

Orcs (Members / Tier 3-2)

Common, reckless, relentless, the orcs are the most common and the most versatile units of the Demon Maggot Army. They are especially the oldest breed in their history. Most of the time, they are seen heavily armored to the teeth and armed with jagged scimitars and spiked kite shields. However, some of them used bows, siege machines and other melee weapons when the other units are quite limited in versatility. They are best effective in squadrons where they can overwhelm even a solo captain of the Gotei 13. They fought so zealously and with no hesitation that even unsheathing a sword would be tricky against them. Their armor are crudely made and thick, making them tough to take down in one slash. The worst that can come out of them is raiding the whole town with just four of them, killing children and enslaving the adults for either experiments, satisfaction or luxury. All the same, they are stuff of nightmares to anyone who managed to survived the ordeal unscathed.

Trolls (Lieutenants / Tier 2-2)

Large, brutal, they are a fierce sight to behold as they are the primary reason that most humans and lesser warriors run from. The reason is that they displayed great strength with no spiritual pressure like the orcs and brood mothers, rendering them unable to be detected by spiritual sensing alone. They are highly territorial with their squads and treated their squads like brothers and sisters, making them more of a force of reckoning if they find their fellow orcs threatened. They are primarily unarmed, but their body are tougher than iron and heavier than lead, making them formidable against those who chose to fight with pure offense, but their weakness was their ineffective discipline towards metaphysical properties as some of the mystical powers can put them in a daze or distract them while they have little protection against them; the most effective method is using Quincy based abilities like Quincy arrows and Ginto.

Riders (Captains / Tier 1-2)

They are once humans who died because of the Demon Maggot Blood, but by rare chance, they resurrected themselves as shadows of their old self. It is said that they looked like their old selves, but they are bond to the will of Vohlis, but to keep the element of surprise, they are cloaked in their own despair that manifested into a robe and hardened metal armor. Unlike the other demon maggots, they transcended life and death, earning them power beyond mere-human comprehension. They can cause dread to anyone with a shriek of their damnation and ride on their Nightmares, horses conjured from their tormented dreams. The way they fight is what earned their namesake. They are capable of summoning other demon maggots like orcs and trolls and being highly resistant to even the most powerful of elemental and metaphysical attacks. Their best known ability is to use their sword to absorb metaphysical/elemental attacks and use them to create a barrier to prevent other metaphysical/elemental attacks from harming them. Only few of them are created during the dark ages, and they are destroyed. For them to return could potentially spell doom to those who are unprepared and raise questions to the Soul Society and the Iramasha Clan all together.

Brood Mothers (Leaders / 0-3)

Monstrously huge, twisted former selves of human women who are forced to drink demon maggot blood either by Vohlis or by orcs. After drinking the blood, they became cannibalistic and devour human sacrifices brought as prisoners of war by the demon maggot war bands. When devouring a human woman, they grow bigger and be more likely to produce more at a time. When devouring a human man, they began using them to start producing orcs or a troll. Usually, they prefer human females due to the property that makes them not only bigger, but makes them able to use the women they ate to produce more humans for them to devour after they fully grown. In some cases, humans are born from Brood Mothers, but as a reproductive food source due to the demon blood making the females and males more likely to mate with each other and make more humans before being devoured by the Brood Mother. The Brood Mothers are more abundant than the Riders, but are the most powerful of the army as their size and thickness accompanying their regenerative property renders most common attacks useless due to very high resistances to physical and metaphysical attacks. Defeating them would prove a daunting task and if succeeded would earn recognition. The primary disadvantage of the Brood Mother was their inability to move from one spot to another and would require a league of trolls to move them. But Vohlis formulated series of hidden dens around the world for them to be sheltered and hidden from their hunters. Their size are unknown as no Iramasha and no one has seen them before. Even the oldest, Ak'Mama was a clear mystery to the Iramasha and the Sugiura. Ak'Mama was perceived to be the biggest of them all and most likely the toughest of them all as for years dating back beyond the times of the Sumerians, Ak'Mama was producing the broods and feeding on humans without aging. Overall, they are capable of producing a small brood of eight to a horde of sixteen per week. Ak'Mama was believed to be able to produce a mass horde of thirty-two at a time in a week.

"I took roleplaying and storytelling with a live-and-let-live attitude, thus the idea of a character doing something out-of-character would add more to the character than letting it stagnate into an archetype or a character. Here: A rapid change to a character must be met with an in-the-moment conflict. Ta-da! A rule to live by!"
