Personality:Kurai is the type of person that is egotistical. He believes that there is no one on earth who has the ability to beat him. Well he at least puts up that front. In reality he knows there are people stronger than him and he hates it with a passion. He believes that he should be the one in charge and have no one to see to before making a decision. Kurai is smart and knows how to win people over. He has somewhat of an intimidating aura around him and tends to get his way by forceful means. He doesn’t like ti when people look down on him and decides to take things into his own hands and bring them down a few notches.

He is seen as cool and calm, and able to process any information he may receive, no matter how shocking or disappointing it may be. Kurai often appears aloof and indifferent, and rarely shows any emotions other than slight annoyance or dissatisfaction. He thinks highly of himself and is cruel to others, though he is protective of his teammates. He cares little for others, and thinks that humans, while at times amusing, are merely mortal and ultimately expendable. With the ambition to walk the path of conquest, he desires to become stronger, even at the expense of others. He believes that struggle is the only way for survival.

Kurai is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish his goal, even if it means lying to his followers and using people as bait for the outcome he desires. However, he has trouble putting those he is close to in harms way for the sake of his goal, which is a weakness as a commander but a remnant of his humanity and sanity. Gradually, however, he has come to embrace the fact that he has to destroy before reconstruction can occur. He views equality and justice as an evil that must be dispelled and encourages social battle to maintain evolution within society. At a very early age, it is clear that Kurai displayed a desire to be different and set apart from others, Kurai also showed an eminent fear of death, considering it a human weakness. He feels no desire or need for human companionship or friendship, and is unable to accept the idea of love or affection for another

Appearance:

Background/History: Kurai was born long ago. His parents were crime lords of their time. In fact they made the biggest name for themselves. Kurai was born a pure soul. One born within the grounds of Soul Society. His parents had made a pretty big name for themselves. They were rogue shinigami that recruited shinigami from the academy. They only took the very best and the ones be could use for, other experiments. Kurai was treated like he was the best thing in the world. He was protected by his guards, which wasn’t needed, but they did so anyway. They had too, he was the bosses son. Even being a pure soul Kurai and his family, including the shinigami they recruited, were living outside the Soul Society Bounds and had base Camp in the Human world. He went through many investments and other illegal actions in order to pick up money for funding facilities. Kurai was trained as a shinigami. He learned their techniques faster than anyone could have guessed. They say he could have been captain at his real age of 12. Of course Kurai had no intention of actually joining the Soul Society.
Kurai was out with his family one day. It was a funy day, well, Kurai’s sense of fun was killing but then again who could have blamed him. Look at his parents. They killed hollows and didn’t care if humans got in the way of the fighting. If they did, they died as well. It was simple. Well that was until the Soul Society’s Shinigami interfered. They killed everyone around Kurai. Kurai was watching it like a spectacle. Kurai may not have liked the Soul Society, well he had no reason to dislike them, he found it fascinating that they would kill everyone around him just like that. That got Kurai interested in something for the first time in his life. He wanted to know how these guys worked. Seeing as he had just lost his family starting from scratch didn’t seem like such a bad thing either. Well Kurai got his wish when the shinigami that took out his family decided to take pity on him. Now that was something that Kurai thought was interesting.

The Shinigami that took him enrolled him into the Shinigami Academy. That was even mnore interesting. These guys actually believed that they could change him into something he was not. Now Kurai thought that this was funny. He flew through the ranks of the shinigami academy. He had been trained already so going through the academy was no problem at all. Of course it wasn’t really as easy as someone may think. He had a few close encounters with killing the other students and some people didn’t want to take him up on anything. Kurai wasn’t exactly the smartest guy out there. His specialty was killing and keeping people under control. He was an evil dude. He knew how to fight but he wasn’t a scientist. A killer was how he was raised and a killer was what he was going to be and he was going to keep it up.

KUrai learned the kidou very well. In fact he was top of his class in the Kidou arts. He learned them very fast and understood them well. He used them in his battles fairly often. When having bouts with some of the shinigami in the academy days he tended to beat them half to death and was retained in the academy until he could control his need to comepltely destroy his enemy unless they be hollows. That was something Kurai didn’t like but he understood what those prissess at the Soul Society wanted so instead he just decided not to do anything that would cause him to be kept back. He graduated the academy was was put into the gotei 13. He never really cared what squad he w3as in so in turn they didn’t even associate themselves with Kurai. Interesting enough the girls in the Soul Society found him cute but then again Kurai never noticed. He wasn’t gay but at the same time women didn’t fit into his plans.

He began to rise to the top of the Gotei and eventually became the captain of his division. He was the odd man out as always. None of the other captains liked him and he didn’t care. Of course during this time Kurai didn’t know of Aizens plot and expirements. In fact Kurai ended up being part of those expirements without knowing it. He took a team of shinigami to go an check it out. That was something Kurai didn’t particularly want to do. Kurai couldn’t really explain what had happened at this point in time and never looked into it himself but suddenly a white spray came shooting from his mouth and covering his face. He blacked out and then was taken to his inner world. But of some reason ethere was someone different there. This wasn’t hi Zanpactou spirit. Instead it felt like a hollow. Kurai lookined at him with a hard to read expression. The inner hollow told Kurai aboutwho and what he was. He also told him that he wasn’t interested in being ‘king’ of the body. Since neither Kurai nor his inner hollow had any specific goals they decided to work together. I guess it was kurai persona that allowed for it to go so smoothly. When he regained his senses he noticed something was different about himself.

Kurai soon Left the soul Society behind him and set off into Karakura town. He made sure to leave that place before anyone actually showed up. He decided to train. He found that there were a lot of abilities open to him now. He decided to try and perfect those abilities and the mask that came along with it. He eventually gained control over an abundance of hollow powers that could be used to his will.


Abilities:

Immeasurable Spiritual Power: Being a former Captain of the Gotei 1, Kurai's spiritual pressure is almost otherworldly. He has commented that it takes a lot for him not to "crush an ant" (referring to Vatou) in his path. Just by standing at the gates of the Seireitei, the entire Gotei 13 was able to feel his overwhelming spiritual power. The force of Kurai's spiritual power is also great enough to, without any visible effort, bring the Eleventh Division's Captain to his knees. It is able to equal a Yoruichi's speed and power using Bankai, even without his Zanpakutō. Kurai's reiatsu is Black in color. His skill and control at using his spiritual energy allows him to perform a variety of abilities.

Hypnotic Eyes: While it is still unclear if this is an ability or merely a mental extension of his spiritual power, Kurai has the power to cast illusions and disrupt a person's mind and/or thinking ability through his eyes. All it takes is direct eye contact between himself and the target. In conjunction with his Zanpakutō achieving Bankai State, Kurai's own hypnotic powers have broadened. He has also been shown using various psychic powers and capabilities; including levitation, telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, flight, mind control, illusion-casting, and astral projection.

Cero: Kurai can fire a cero from his mouth without being in a "fighting pose." Kurai also possesses an ability to generate two Ceros in front of each of his eyes that is attached to each other similar to Cero Sincrético in its first stage. The color of these cero are both light purple. However, when fighting seriously, he can focus a powerful cero in his fingertips and fire them almost instantly; with speed matching or even surpassing that of Bala.

Devastating Strength: Kurai boasts that he is the physically strongest among all Shinigami of the Soul Society; a claim that has yet to be proven. He is also able to easily cut down four captains and three vizards (who are former captains of gotei 13) with ease.

Immense Speed: During battle, he was shown to leave afterimages of himself. Whether this indicates that he is using a form of speed acceleration or not has yet to be revealed. During his first fight with Vatou, although Kurai states that Vatou's weak resolve was impeding his performance, Kurai was able to easily outmaneuver Vatou's Shikai and mask-enhanced speed to the point he could casually lay a hand on his chest and still dodge a point-blank attack. The sound he makes when moving is like that of Sonído, but he disclaims having knowledge of such a technique. His speed is great enough that he can appear to be in several places at once and wipe out an entire Onmitsukidō squadron in seconds. Kurai can easily close tremendous gaps of distance in the blink of an eye while remaining undetected, as shown from his ability to surprise Vatou, who is one of the most proficient in the art as well.

Master Swordsmanship Specialist: Despite his appearance, Kurai is an extremely skilled fighter, using a combination of powerful attacks and cunning deceptions. His skill in the said area has been repeatedly shown as very high. He achieved Bankai within a short time relying on the sheer skill of his ability to wield his Zanpakutō against its own spirit. It is said that Kurai's fighting style is called Kuzusu (破壊する, to destroy; literally "to break down"). This was described as the most vicious form of bladed combat, and was said to be filled with both fury and "malignant grace."; The form was given the title of the most difficult and demanding form in all of Shinigami combat. The form was both chaotic and erratic, with a heavy focus on offense, said to be able to "eviscerate a lone enemy."

Unrivaled Genius/Manipulator: Kurai is a man of astonishing intellect and manipulation. His most noticeable trait is his ability to deceive and manipulate others around them in multiple manners. His strategic ability was also shown in his swordsmanship combat. Applying the principles of Kuzusu and traditional Seijin form, he often took advantage of his superior defensive capabilities and position on the battlefield to win his battles with as little effort exhausted as possible. Junsui It has been said that one of Kurai's greatest skills was the way he could manipulate beings, of both good or evil. It was mentioned that Kurai's very voice had a hypnotic lull to it whenever he was outwardly speaking, thus a testament to his superior manipulative abilities.

Mysterious Kidō: Kurai appears to have a mastery of Kidō; shown to utilize spells of level 90 with strict ease. He was also known to create his own kidō spells of immense power. In particular, he was the only known user of a spell that stuns several people at once, bearing the sound of a gunshot; he also used a spell in the Invasion of Northern Rukongai to yank a fleeing officer back to him with zero physical effort. Kurai is also skilled in a type of obscure kidō involving mind-reading. Many people, particularly Vatou, often noted that Kurai sometimes seemed to see right into their mind and correctly decipher what they were thinking. He can produce kidō without the use of an incantation, and was highly skilled at nonverbal kidō. While some people seemed to produce lesser kidō when using it non-verbally, Kurai was capable of extraordinary feats such as conjuring hundreds of reiatsu spears to cut down a large opponent, without saying a word; meerly a glance.

Tatewarigyōsei (セグメント, segmented) is a dark kidō created by Kurai. When uttered, it's effect is the equivalent of an invisible sword, slashing the target repeatedly and inflicting near-horrific scarring and internal bodily injuries, to the point they are disfigured or possibly killed. It works best on living targets, and has no noticeable effect on inanimate objects or dead ones, such as corpses, other than slashing them pointlessly. It is fired in the same sense as an instant bala.

Fukanyūsei (不可入性, impenetrability) is a barrier kidō created by Kurai; A barrier which prevents the foe from finding and/or attacking him. At first his barrier was only useful in hiding his presence. As he persevered in absorbing new, stronger reiatsu into his body and discarding the weaker foreign reiatsu, Vatou needed to ascend to Bankai in order to penetrate it. Overtime, he could keep it active constantly as it's power grew to a point where no average technique could even crack it. The barrier can only extend for his own defensive use, and cannot be used for other's safety. It is nearly impenetrable.


Zanpakutô Spirit:

Shinbyeong

Interesting enough the zanpactou is a female black panther. She has a soft voice and tends to talk as if she were purring. She tends to take up the partner slash pet attitude. When in her inner world she tends to cuddle up to her wielder and tends to give advice when needed. She is tender and kind unlike her master and is very protective. But in reality she just does what her master tells her to do. She is a real conformist when ut comes to Kurai. He inner world looks like a jungle at night with the moon shinning above. The moon light illuminates the area and floating orbs of light hover throughout the jungle. Interesting enough it is a place where anyone can feel peace. So much in fact that it causes a sense of forboding.

Sealed Zanpakutô : Shinbyeong (영적질병, spiritual sickness) is the name of Kurai's Zanpakutō. When sealed, it is seen as a traditional habaki with a dark purple guard and intricate design around it's hilt; The guard itself is shaped like a bird. It is worn by Kurai on his left hip. Shinbyeong has the power over the bonds of death, but also of life. It can restore the life of the dead by cutting the pale-bearers who take the souls to the afterlife. When sealed, it is unable to harm any living beings, which is ironic for a katana; much less a zanpakutō. However it's power lies in the fact that it can bring the recently dead back to life as well as healing the wounded. On many key events, Kurai has shown to nickname Shinbyeong's sealed form as "Tenseiga" (天生牙). The literal translation of the kanji is "heavenly life fang" or "fang born out of heaven", but these are not necessarily accurate representations of the name's actual meaning.

Shikai Description: It's release command is "Seperate yourself from Reality" (別の自分で現実から, genjitsu kara hanasu); when released, the entire vicinity around Kurai is frozen. Only opponents with a large amount of reiatsu and concentration will be able to escape being frozen in time. It releases with an immense gravitational force that levels most of the surrounding area, and even can bring down opponents of Kurai's medal upon activation. Strangely enough, black cherry blossoms seem to fall all around the area upon it's activation, followed by the latter mentioned gravitational outburst. In Shikai, Shinbyeong's blade becomes more straight, yet not exactly like that of a japanese longblade. It becomes jet black, as the hilt becomes blood red. It's guard becomes gold in color, and is shaped like a triple-winged bird.

Shikai Abilities:
Shikai Special Ability: Kurai's Shikai, similar to Vatou's Hanullim, has three forms in which Shinbyeong manifests it's power through. Shinbyeong's power is meant to represent knowledge, emotion, and willpower; respectively. They are based off of the Imperial Regalia of Japan; the Yata no Kagami (wisdom), Yasakani no Magatama (benevolence), and Kusanagi (valor). Kurai also states in his own words that "things are not as they seem at first glace" when explaining and witnessing the power of Shinbyeong in Shikai. His Shikai is said to embody the three godlike powers of omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. Physically, Kurai's abilities have been enhanced immensely. He was strong and fast enough to even fight on par with a Bankai-released Vatou for a short while.

Some no Seki - Chieren'ai (最初の門感性のセンス, First Gate - Sense of Emotion); Simply put, Shinbyeong's Some no Seki - Chieren'ai has the power to sever the bonds of sense. Kurai is able to cut an opponent, and remove a sense from their body; such senses as hearing, touch, taste, smell, vision, balance, acceleration, temperature, proprioception, and pain. He can even destroy and eliminate key parts of a opponent's perception of reality and logical reasoning; in short, he can alter how the opponent sees the world around them and even change their emotions and feelings, which is ironic considering he himself possesses no facial emotion. While remove may be the definitive term for his Shikai, he has elaborated on it's power; he states that he has full reign over them, and can even cross senses together. Overall, he can destroy and eliminate them from the brain and body. It seems that it is within Kurai's power to restore the senses of those he cut upon his whim, even himself. Those cut by the blade's Shikai fall victim to it's true power, being rendered at the complete mercy of Kurai. Opponents of Kurai are affected by several symptoms, making reference to the blade's name "spiritual sickness". The afflicted cannot focus their reiatsu as well as they once could and become weak physically and psychologically; it can even cause a psychotic episode to occur within the mind of the afflicted. Another form of the Shikai's power, called the "dream appearance type"; the affliction is triggered by a dream in which the afflicted sees a spirit or unusual occurrence, accompanied by a revelation. The body of the afflicted becomes weak and is subject to pain and cramping. Physical symptoms progress to include mental illness. Eventually dreams of the afflicted and reality become blurred and the target(s) suffers hallucinations.


Meidō Zangetsuha (冥道斬月波, "dark path of the dawn's moon blast") is a technique that creates a path that sends anyone who is hit with it directly to hell, killing them without actually harming them. The technique originally belonged to Yeshua's own zanpakutō; however, he passed it on to his son Kurai in order to give him the power to protect, not just to kill. The Meidō Zangetsuha creates a massive black circle that will send a entire body into hell, leaving no trace left behind. However, when Kurai was first learning to use the technique, the Meidō will take the form of a black cresent moon that only sent a part of a person into hell along with their soul; stronger opponents may be uneffected by the cresent Meidō. As Kurai gained strength, the Meidō grew until it became a perfect circle. It appears that it can also be used to escape from a Meidō one is already in, as well as entering/exiting pocket dimensions.


Tsugi no Seki - Kyūkei Mūkagami (二番目のゲートは、無粉々に反映して、ミラー, Second Gate - "the mirror that reflects nothingness shatters"); When reciting the name of the technique, Kurai's Zanpakutō glows bright purple as the technique takes effect in several different ways. Initially, this technique allows Kurai the use of mysterious and complex abilities and powers that manifest through glass and mirrors. Shinbyeong can create clones of Kurai that shatter upon their usage being diminished. Kurai can also create a thick glass shield in a space that he cuts with Shinbyeong, which bursts and deals immense damage to anything that comes into contact with it purposely. Kurai can also use this technique for an ability that some mistakingly relate to hypnosis; by using reflections of light, Kurai create illusions so elaborate as to be almost indistinguishable from reality, going as far as to call them absolutely flawless. He can use this to easily hide his own movements as well; when an opponent falls for an illusion, the fake Kurai they attack shatters into mirror fragments. The real Kurai can even hide within the small fragments that result from the breaking of the illusion for an ambush. He tends to show repeated use of this power, being able to create an illusion out of any situation. By stabbing the ground or a stable physical or spiritual structure, it forces the entire area to transform into a mirror substance that extends out, eventually transforming the entire area into a mirror/glass world. Kurai then slip through and reappear anywhere the glass and mirrors exists, or even where reflections exist. He defines this as the ability to manipulate and control reflections. As a sort of "last resort", the sword can also create a glass demon to copy the abilities of whatever it reflects, though Kurai himself suffers damage when the glass demon is wounded.

Yeongdeungsin (음력바다의여신, goddess of the lunar oceans); Kurai's Shinbyeong will emit a bright blue light from it's blade. When the opponent makes eye contact with it's glow, one of two things can occur. If the opponent is on the defensive, their mind becomes tampered with as they find their emotions and memories changing constantly, being haunted by memories that aren't even theirs to begin with. This instils great fear within the afflicted, to the point of even affecting their fighting ability. When on the offense, both Kurai and the opponent(s) "switch places", as an attack that is meant for Kurai, ends up being reversed as that same technique is used by Kurai while the opponents are forced to counteract it. Unlike the first ability, the latter has a time span inbetween usage that allows a window of attack by the opponent.

Ōkamigen'ei (臣迷夢, Emperor's Illusion); Kurai calls this move his trump card. According to Kurai himself, it is the most powerful of any illusion-type move an individual can cast on themselves. When used, Kurai uses Shinbyeong to remove the boundaries between reality and illusion, allowing Kurai to control his own state of existence and reinforce his vision of reality on himself and those that are in the vicinity of his spiritual pressure. The power seems to involve the ability to deem any negative events an illusion and positive events reality. This effect, however, only lasts for about one full minute per use and can only be used once upon the release of Kurai's Shikai.

San no Seki - Nemuruyami (三ゲート眠る闇, Third Gate - "closing one's eyes to darkness"); Kurai's third technique is considered out of the ordinary for any technique of a Zanpakutō. It is considered this because it deals with the usage of reason as a weapon, in lieu of reiatsu. Kurai explains that this is very similar to that of the Kōryū (拘流, Wresting Flow) and Kōtotsu (拘突, Wresting-Surge) respectively, in principle anyways. In one phrase, he calls this the "usage of reason as a spiritual weapon."; Kurai can summon a massive black material that is formed into the shape of a bullet train, with a purple eye at the upper-center of its body. If the black current touches a Zanpakutō or any other spiritual mass, it will be sucked into the current, and crushed into a singularity. The current stops souls from moving, and even one foot caught by it makes escape almost impossible. As stated by Kurai, the space in which the current is occupied, can experience distortions in both time and space dimensions. Should they survive being crushed inside the current, the results following can be disastrous. A victim would be normally blown away hundreds of years through time and space, and their body would not be able to keep up with the violent flow of time. Kurai explains that the difference between his technique and the actual Kōtotsu is that his technique cannot be effected by spiritual power, whatsoever. While the Kōtotsu was believed to be of the same resistance, as shown by Sōsuke Aizen, this was not the case.




Release: “Reality is mine to control” (暗闇の中で土地を埋める- Kurayami no naka de tochi o umeru)

Bankai Description: Kurai is transformed, his hair becomes white and spikey and also gains a long black cowl with ragged ends which also extends around his neck and covers both his arms. Kurais blade then becomes a kodachi. A kodachi (小太刀 or こだち?), literally translating into "small or short tachi (sword)", is a Japanese sword that is too short to be considered a long sword but too long to be a dagger. Considering its size most people tend to underestimate the versatility of the kodachi. Given the way its made kodachi are able to defeat most bladed weapons. A kodachi's length is similar to that of the wakizashi, and though the blades differ greatly in construction, the kodachi and the wakizashi are similar enough in size and technique that the terms are sometimes (mis)used interchangeably. While the kodachi was a set length, the wakizashi was forged to complement the height of its wielder or the length of the katana it was paired with, and thus varied. The kodachi also features greater curvature than a wakizashi, and typically has a longer handle.


Bankai Abilities:
Bankai Special Ability: Aside from retaining the same abilities from Shikai, Kurai's bankai creates a reverse world. The reversed world is depicted as a world where there is no solid ground where it might be expected and mirror images of scenery is in vertical symmetry with itself. Many pillars and crystal shards freely float around the Reverse World, depicting things in the real world. The Reverse World is said to be another universe or world parallel to the Bleach World. If the shards are shattered or if any part of a pillar is destroyed, an explosion happens in the real world near the place or thing within the shard or whatever the pillar is currently mirroring. It is a dark place with platforms floating at many different angles. The world disobeys the normal laws of physics: time does not flow and spatial relations are irregular. Kurai uses this advantage to remove the boundaries between reality and illusion, allowing Kurai to reinforce his vision of reality on himself. He is also able to manipulate the reiatsu around him as to trick the opponent into thinking that are still in their own world, and is able to cast illusion-esque effects on an opponent. Kurai is able to reverse any attack meant for him to the opponent, forcing the opponent to stay on the defensive always. This aspect can be overcome if Kurai is caught off guard.

Overwhelming Spiritual Power: The spiritual energy and pressure of this form is immense, as Kurai's already immense spiritual power is significantly increased further upon entering his Bankai. Just his presence in this stage is so devastating, that he needs to hold back the full might of his reiatsu as so not to kill his allies. When using Bankai, Kurai's reiatsu takes the shape of several black reiatsu wisps that seem to rise up out of the ground itself. The wisps of reiatsu seem to serve the purpose of vibrating the reishi particles around him, being able to deflect opposing spiritual particles. Because the reishi vibrates at roughly nine million times per second, not even the Quincy's Seele Schneider can cut through Kurai's dense reiatsu.

Enhanced Shikai Abilities: Kurai's Shikai abilities have been explosively supplemented, as they seem almost like new techniques while in Bankai. Kurai had obtained a power that he effectively names, "the seperation and manifestation of physical and spiritual laws". The only known example of him using this newfound ability is when he used it to seperate Movement and Sound, in order to move at great speeds without making a sound of any kind.

Devastating Speed: His speed is enhanced astronomically, able to move great distances in an instant as if to displace himself. Kurai's Bankai enhances his speed to the point that even captain-level opponents cannot register his movements..

Strength / Durability Augmentation: Kurai has become strong enough to cause a shockwave after being knocked down by Ceon. His skin and hands are also strong enough to catch and hold onto Ceon's Zanpakutō while the latter is in his HUrricane release without any damage. This is not known to many people except Vatou and only this because it is similar to the way he already is.

Vizard powers:) He demonstrates frightening and amazing powers while wearing the Hollow Mask. When Kurai dons his Hollow mask, his reiatsu spirls around him and gives life to living substances around him, such as flowers and plants. His reiatsu's color changes over to a strange mixture of colors, making his reiatsu resemble the appearance of Meidō Zangetsuha.

Devastating Spiritual Power: His spiritual power seems to have increased immensely; it was noted by Vatou that he is "worlds apart" from other Vizard and it makes him wonder if he is even the same species. He is capable of exerting spiritual pressure of overwhelming power. It appears that Hollow have trouble approaching Kurai when he is wearing his helmet, for his reiatsu has become a purifying agent for those with hollow powers. Kurai's power becomes much more dense and heavy then before. It has not just increased, but has become heavier and much more compressed. He can use this pressure as a shield and even as a weapon; by focusing on certain key areas, he can momentarily control gravity and push an opponent backwards. All physical attacks and spiritual attacks are seemingly unable to even reach Kurai's presence. However, because Kurai hasn't revealed all of his powers or the full extent of them, it is unknown if his reiatsu can be used in more fightening applications.

Enhanced Speed: While wearing his Hollow mask, Kurai's already overwhelming speed is enhanced to almost unimaginable levels. His speed in this form is the greatest, being so swift, not even Vatou is able to see his movements. When Kurai said he would slow down in his attacks, those same strikes appear as simple twitches, if anything.

Enhanced Strength: While using the Hollow mask, Kurai gains a substantial increase in strength. As in his third fight with Vatou, he was able to block the destructive force of his Bankai and fight on par with the latter, though only for a few minutes

Durability Augmentation: Kurai's durability is further enhanced due to the hollow’s power within him. Because of this, he can withstand a point-blank Cero without suffering any damage. He was even able to take on a direct hit from Vatou's Shinkūmyō-enhanced Shikon Hisakiten.

• Cero: Kurai is very proficient with the cero though his is different from most hollows. His cero is abnormally powerful and can easily level half a city, though only with enough spiritual pressure put into it, and after this he needs to rest a full five minutes before he can use it again. Being a proponent of the Cero, Kurai has forged the technique to several unique variations.
  
  Taladrador Cero (ピアスゼロ, Spanish for Piercer Zero): A Cero fired from the finger tip. It can pierce through nearly anything (excluding Arrancar's Hierro), even being able to pierce through the heart of a target for an instant kill.
  
  Espada Cero (ソードゼロ, Spanish for Sword Zero): This is a special Cero unique to Kurai. It's name means "sword zero" or "zero sword", it's name obviously implying that it is a Cero with awesome cutting power. It's still an energy blast but cuts instead of blasting away.
  
  Sangre Cero (血も, Spanish for Blood Zero): It is a special Cero made by Kurai that uses his blood and energy for power making it stronger than an average cero and blood-red. It is very similar to that of the Espada's Gran Rey Cero.
  
  Esfera Cero (球も, Spanish for Sphere Zero): It is another of the unique Cero created by Kurai. It is a massive circular orb of Spiritual Energy and is fired like a projectile. When it makes contact with an opponent it makes a truly massive explosion. This technique is Kurai's Hissatsu Waza or desperation move.
  
  
• Enhanced Strength: When wearing the mask, his physical strength is enhcnaced immensely. Though not visibly seen, his power seems to be great enough to break the bones of opponents he faces in battle.
  
  
  
• Hollow Combat: When Kurai fights with his mask on his fighting style becomes more instinctive than practiced. The hollow mask also makes Kurai more ruthless, akin to the battle style of Hollow Kurai. Throughout the duration the mask is in place, Kurai has shown less concern for injuries to his person, even going so far as to ignore grievous wounds to continue fighting.
  
  Hollow Control: Kurai has the ability to control Hollows, ranging from Normal Hollows to Adjuchas level Menos. The control starts the moment Kurai lets out a Hollow-like roar and from that moment on he can control any Hollow who hears that roar like a puppet. It is unknown exactly how he developed such an ability, but Kurai thinks it is due to his affinity to his Hollow abilities.
  
  
• Mask Shielding: Bodily harm can seemingly be ignored while wearing their masks, as demonstrated by Ichigo's Hollow during his unwilling transformations. The Hollow mask can only be maintained for a certain period before its effects wear off: Ichigo can only hold his transformation for short periods (eleven seconds at first), while the other Vizard have seemingly no limit to how long they can last.
  
  
• Garganta: The power that Hollow's and Arrancar use to go to and from Hueco Mundo. Kurai has the ability to use the technique. It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway. It was taught to him by his Arrancar equivalent.
  
  
• Sonído (響転 (ソニード), Sonīdo; Spanish for "Sound" Japanese for "Transfer Effects") is the Arrancar equivalent of the Shinigami Flash Steps and the Quincy Hirenkyaku; it allows the user to travel at incredibly high speeds for short distances. Use of Sonído is punctuated by a brief static sound, in contrast to the "swish" sound caused by Flash Steps.
  
  
• Telekinesis: Vizard apparently hold varying degrees of telekinesis; For example, Ichigo, in his new Hollowfied form, has employed this ability to call forth his Zanpakutō with a mere flick of the wrist.

Sombrio Noche (暗黒の夜 (ソンブリオノーチェ) sonburio nōche, Spanish for "Dark Night", Japanese for "Black Night"): The true ability of his Resurrección, is the ability to manipulate or create darkness. He is able to give the darkness tangibility, so it is possible to create solid black constructs such as swords or sheilds. He is also by manipulating the darkness able to absorb physical attacks. The darkness can also be used to control people by letting them absorb the darkness or by physical contact, the target will lose all form of senses when under the control and will become a willing slave to Kurai.

Noche De Otoño (ナイトタイム (ノーチェは、デオトノ) nōchewa deotono, Spanish for "Night Fall", Japanese for "Night Time"): By using the power of the warps with that of sombrio noche, he is able to turn day into night over a large area by creating a area-wide veil of darkness. This makes Kurai's power of darkness much stronger as he can cloak himself to hide during the night and can become completely invisible when in shadows. He is able to 'melt' into the shadows and could travel between them easily.

Cero Lamparos (ゼロライト (白中空フラッシュ), sero ramuparosu; Spanish for "Light Zero", Japanese for "White Hollow Flash") or more grammatically correct Cero Lampara, is a full-powered white Cero with a dark red outline to it, which Kurai states to be the extreme opposite to Ulquiorra's black Cero Oscuras. When using this technique, Kurai concentrates his vast spiritual energy with only his index finger into an condensed stark-white Cero with great might. When fired, it shines an immense white light that can burn the surrounding area it comes into contact with, and even leave those who stare at it temporarily blind. Kurai refered to it as "my Cero." The Cero Lamparos's range is vast, and is immensely powerful even strong enough to destroy the entire Senzaikyū tower in Seireitei.

Kyūkeiransa (驚くランス, Shattering Lance) is a reiatsu weapon created by Kurai, that is very similar to Ulquiorra Schiffer's Lanza del Relámpago. It creates a javelin-like weapon using his spiritual power, which he can use as a projectile or as a physical weapon. When thrown, it produces an incredibly-destructive explosion on impact, big enough to even land on Ryan despite him using flash step to escape from it. He can use these spears in rapid succession, and also forms microscopic energy blades that attack the body on a cellular level when the target comes into contact. These blades cut through the body's cells, being able to cause additional damage to one's body that is unable to be healed through Kidō. Kurai is also able to use this attack as a blade, which actually corrodes biotic material upon impact.

Angelic Cero: Enhanced by this form's power, Kurai can fire off purple-colored Cero blasts from the tip of his figures which are encircled by a whirling golden flame and white electric discharge. He can also fire a barrage of Ceros, which, according to Vatou, lasts almost forever in theory. He can also fire his Ceros upward, which later rain down on his opponents. When impacted upon an opponent of demonic or hollow properties, they are burnt badly by the presencealone, let alone the actual Cero attack. Kurai can also focus these Cero into one potent Cero, capable of devastating results.
