Re: To Remember the Warmth of Your Hand [Yuuto, Mirai]

YUUTO HISAKAWA | STORMSWORD
The silence made him worried. He remembered that she had told him how she felt, but, things could have changed in that time. Had she fallen out of love with him? Had she found someone else in that time? As she went still, Yuuto's free hand slowly began to make its way toward her, just about to graze her shoulder before she spoke. His eyebrows raised in response, and he leaned a little bit closer.
Then, that smile. The one that he had missed since Akira attacked her. A smile that brought so much warmth to him that he couldn't help but return it in kind. As her hand slipped free of his, Yuuto followed it, gently cupping the back of it as he turned his head and briefly pressed his lips to her palm.
That phrase...he knew that there was truth to it, that she was accepting his feelings. Yet, Yuuto had known her for so long that he also understood what lay hidden beneath the surface.
For as long as the sun would rise and set, and for as long as the moon would follow, his heart beat for her.
"Of course, Mirai," He said, the usual gentle tone returning. "However, this means..."
Releasing her hand, he instead reached for her cheek, his thumb brushing against it as his fingers curled under her chin. Without another word, he quickly leaned in, closed his eyes, and pressed his lips against hers. It was brief, yet the former Captain felt fireworks in his chest, a feeling he hadn't had in a long, long time.
"I can finally do that," He whispered. "My vow, sealed with a kiss."
A vow he had no intention of ever breaking.

It was a pleasant surprise to have Yuuto lean in and kiss her like it was just the natural thing to do, and it was returned just as swiftly as he had taken it. Short, but sweet. It was all Mirai needed to confirm her place as Yuuto’s Hisakawa’s girlfriend. She was his and he was hers.
‘A vow sealed with a kiss… Perfect.’
"C'mere," she muttered. Mirai tugged lightly on his clothing as she moved back, guiding him back further onto the bed until he was laying on top of her. She guided his head down onto her chest so he could use her as a pillow, a position they often found themselves in when he was drunk. Of course, there was no alcohol this time. Mirai curled herself around him, running her hand through his hair. And with the softest of smiles, she placed a quick kiss on Yuuto's forehead. Finally, she was safe...

To have his affections returned only brightened that look in his eyes. The look of gentleness and warmth, given new life. That smile he wore faltered for a moment as she pulled him toward her, letting him come to rest against her chest. A light shade of pink came to his face, but he didn't resist. He could vaguely recall hazy memories of them being in this position when they were drunk.
But, this time, he didn't want to have the moment clouded with drink. He didn't want anything to obscure or take away from this moment. He wanted to remember every last second. At feeling her lips against his forehead and her hands gliding through his hair, he chuckled softly.
"That's supposed to be..." he whispered, eyelids feeling heavy. "My job, darling..."
Though it was not something he'd oppose. The fact that he could be here, without fear of mockery or persecution, gave him comfort. His arms quietly slipped around her waist, keeping her close to him. Despite everything that had happened in the last few days, Yuuto Hisakawa, even if only for one night, finally knew peace.
