Howling Down [Bambietta, Erika]
Mon Sep 16, 2024 9:56 am
BAMBIETTA BASTERBINE
If Bambietta could have carried her current patient to the 2nd Division, she would have. It would have been a better place to be, probably a safer place to be, but she could hardly even move her own body at any half-decent speed, much less transport someone else.
So she had little other choice but to do the work here and now. Kaido applied far more expediently than was typical, making sure that any possible internal damage was repaired. Not that it really seemed as if there was all that much; she had the faint suspicion that Urahara had, perhaps, not meant to do any lethal damage.
But she couldn't discern exactly why. If things were more secure, she would have maybe been able to think things through, but for now, her focus was only on healing the Vice Captain of the 1st Division. This was, perhaps without exaggeration, the most important application of her kido that was possible right now.

It wasn't long that she was out for. However when she came out, she roused in a state of battle.
"URAHARA!"
She screamed into the room and swung her body around like a rabid dog. Pain meant nothing to her right now even if it caused more damage to her body while she glared back and forth like she was hunting her prey. He was dead for this. Her blade would leave nothing left of him. Nothing at all! It made her furious that he had caused this.
"Where is he?"
Her gaze fixed onto the other shinigami she recognised as being here with them. It was threatening, hostile, cold. All things that told Bambietta to talk quickly or else. Wasn't it a little peculiar that she looked unharmed despite the situation. The vice-captain demanded an explanation because her patience was at its length's end.

BAMBIETTA BASTERBINE
"Hold still!"
Bambietta's thoughts had been focused intensely on her work, and she was someone fiercely dedicated to her craft. As such, she simply instinctively barked those words at Erika, not willing to let her work be undone simply because of the situation. No, it was the situation that was the very reason she couldn't dare to let this work go unfinished. Taking a breath to compose herself, Bambietta spoke again, refusing to cease her work even now.
"I wasn't able to stop him, Vice Captain. He disassembled my barriers and dispelled my bakudo without any effort, and left the laboratory. Treating your injuries is the most I can do."
She wasn't qualified to handle any of this herself. But she could, at least, heal one of the few people in Soul Society who was.

Who did she think she was trying to tell her to hold still? So the shinigami next to her failed too, then staying here was no longer and option, and she pushed against her attempts to heal her any further.
"You just let him go!? You idiot."
There were places she had to be that weren't here. She had to find him before he got away or stop this chaos. Her hand grasped the asauchi and she forced herself to stand with every intention of rejoining the fight. It lead to her stumbling through the room and hitting her shoulder on the way through the door and she wheezed against her broken diaphragm. One step after another, it's all she needed, once she got outside she could slaughter them for doing this. Each painful step of her unsteady gait carried her towards her enemies.
She had to find that man and kill him even if she had to crawl her way there to do it.

BAMBIETTA BASTERBINE
"Vice Captain!"
It wasn't as if Bambietta had any means of physically restraining Erika. She struggled even to pull herself up, but it wasn't as if the Vice Captain was doing much better, either. Taking a breath inward, she shambled forward, thankfully not in as poor shape as Erika was.
"You aren't in any state to stop him right now!"
Bambietta couldn't deny that she had just let Urahara go. But what other choice had she had? She couldn't stop him. She would have just been killed without accomplishing anything. That would happen to Vice Captain Masamune, too, if she tried to fight her in this state.
"You're the one in charge until we can locate the Captain Commander, ma'am! I can't let you throw yourself in danger!"
She didn't like saying something like that. It felt manipulative, even if that wasn't the intention. Bambietta just needed to remind her of the greater circumstances.

"Then I order you to find her while I kill her enemies."
She barked without glancing back, her feet stumbled as she said it and she took a moment to spit onto the ground after a few coughs. Her chest hurt but she'd made up her mind, she was going to kill Urahara Kisuke for this.
One way or another. If she had to bloody her hands more then it'd just be another layer of red to many others that covered them but he had betrayed the closest person she had left - and it was because she felt effects of it enough times that she had to do this.

BAMBIETTA BASTERBINE
She couldn't chase down Vice Captain Masamune. She couldn't bring herself to do anything more in this circumstance, wouldn't dare to cast some sort of bakudo to keep her there. Why? It was simple, really. Bambietta couldn't help but admire that determination. She couldn't help but wish she'd had that same tenacity, that willingness to put everything into danger just to stop Urahara. But, if she couldn't do that, then at the very least, she understood what she could do.
"Understood. But ma'am, take these, at least!"
It was an impossible order, given the circumstances. She wasn't as smart as Urahara, she didn't know anything about the situation at hand. But, even with that in mind, Bambietta knew that she needed to do whatever she could here and now. This was the one thing she could do, right now, to benefit the Gotei that had helped her put a life back together. So she painfully pulled herself up, and held out a handful of talismans, all filled with kaido ready to be applied.
"They aren't as good as a real medical professional, ma'am, but they'll patch you up while you're in the field."
