Desire Looming [Wellgunde, Open]

Pups? This woman had a strange way of talking smack. Regardless Hono needed to lock in, these invaders were dangerous so any wrong move could cause her to be cut down. Her Shikai while it boosted her abilities did cut her range, hopefully that weakness wouldn't be exploited.

As Wellgunde attacked, Hono would go to parry but wasn't expecting the sudden amount of speed, dodging to the best of her abilities. She managed to move to the left, though not completely out of the wave, the edge of the spear cutting her side, causing a slight wince, as the water launched her backward.

Hono would attempt to recover and use a flash step to rush towards Wellgunde. Attempt to strike the woman with a quick slash of her Zanpakuto

Wellgunde was a woman who was well-suited to subtle movements. The way in which she carried herself was disorienting enough to give any opponent no small degree of pause. However, when it came to her actual speed, Wellgunde was not particularly impressive. Her eyes darted to the side as Hayden slammed into her, the thin line of her expression shifting once again into an outright disapproving frown as she felt her hierro chip in a few places.

She had no reason to provide some little quip in response at this stage, however. Instead, she simply stepped back, not wanting to stay too close as the crackle of sonido yet again masked her position for the brief interval of that step. Still, that left her at the mercy of this other one-

With a twist of her body, Wellgunde appeared out of her step and swung her polearm in a wide arc, intent on keeping both of these two at a distance. Tactically speaking, it was impractical to try and fight at close range. Even so, the cut from the pink one's blade had made its way through. It wasn't much, but any cut was displeasing. A mark of her failure, and an unattractive blemish that might make her less pleasing to her master's eye.

No, that wouldn't do. That wouldn't do at all.

Hayden had begun to move for a follow-up to land after Hono's attack had begun, but the swipe of the polearm tearing through the air in front of him caused a sudden stop, his feet pushing back after it passed him by. The polearm would pose trouble, but he figured that if he managed to get close enough, he and his teammate could keep apply pressure. The only question he had was if the look on her face was going to lead to her being thrown off, or the opposite.

He also was worried about how well versed she was in her sonido, but he had an idea to hopefully halt that for a moment. He took steps to circle around Wellgunde for a moment, towards Hono. He knew he couldn't leave enough room for her to use her weapon, or else she could tear into both of them.

“Ten minutes should be enough time for most of the evacuation, hopefully. Think we can handle her for that long, if not sooner?” he said to Hono, still keeping his eye on their opponent. His voice was loud enough for his ally to hear, but it wasn't projected much more than it needed to be. Without a pause in his footsteps, he began to spin his sword in a circle around his hand.

Now we're cooking with gas.

“Defend,” he began, before a particularly fast motion. The blade seemed to meld along its path. “Praetorius”

What was once a slender blade had become a black circular shield with cyan decoration, just over half a meter wide. Nothing seemed inherently abnormal about it otherwise. And with his weapon released, he pivoted on his left foot, and began to charge forwards again, his zanpakuto raised towards Wellgunde.

A hit, that was all Hono needed. Despite the cut being quite small, some shards of her blade made their way inside Wellgunde at the point of impact... With the ability of her Zanapkuto, of course, nothing would happen yet. She needed to get more strikes in before she could use her Zanpakuto's real ability. She was just hoping it would WORK this time when it came to her Zanpakuto it had a really poor track record, though she had never used it in a real-life or death fight...

She turned her attention towards Hayden at his brief comment. "It'll be easy~" Deciding to shit talk a bit, shouting back to return his volume. While she wanted to tell Hayden her plan, which would require her to give away her Zanpakuto's ability, and she didn't want to show her hand just yet, she wanted that element of surprise.

She decided to follow Hayden's lead, and keep up her assault, her strikes aimed for Wellgunde's shoulder with her Zanpakuto. She didn't know what Hayden could do, but she was hoping the two of them could deal with the threat before them.

Despite her own capabilities, it seemed that these two were not so below her notice that she could dispatch them without any effort. She wasn't intent on continuing to fight the two of them head on given the current circumstance. If it were a one on one bout, Wellgunde doubted she would have had issue, but two shinigami, using release, were more than she wished to fight as she was.

"Snap, Ostra."


Wellgunde's skin quickly shifted to a deep blue in color, and she whipped her weapon around with far more force than before, intent on holding back any imminent strikes with her now increased capabilities. A step of sonido, nearly in place, marked the appearance of another shell of hierro that moved to clash with Hono's blade, while Wellgunde herself looked to Hayden.

"You should have run away, you know."

With another stab of her weapon, an orb of water fired toward the shinigami, but this time it was not simply intent on causing injury. Those struck by her resurreccion's waters would find themselves locked in its abyssal walls, a bubble of water that was meant simply to hold prey in place; if she had the time, she would turn them into a most beautiful pearl within her own depths.

For a moment there was hope, that they’d win. However, Hono’s confidence shattered, and she became worried as she heard those words. She figured the woman had some kind of release, but pushed it to the back of her mind. Now she needed to give it full focus. Hono would commit to the clash trying to gauge the strength difference now that Wellgunde was awakened. Hono just needs to get in and cut her some more.


Hono aimed directly for the weapon and attempted to parry her spear. If Hono was successful she’d try to follow up with a kick. If the parry wasn’t successful she’d likely be stuck in a clash, giving Wellgunde a clean opportunity to attack.

Hono made sure to watch the orbs, likely a part of her new ability, it was critical to figure out how it worked. Hayden’s impressive block followed by his rush Hono would wait for her opportunity to strike Wellgunde, waiting for a chance while defending herself from her clones and bubbles.

The shield that was suddenly launched toward Wellgunde didn't necessarily catch her by surprise, at least in the sense that her pesquisa had certainly detected it rocketing toward her. Just because she saw it coming, however, didn't necessarily mean that she had the means to evade such a thing, and the weapon slammed into her side. Her hierro was nothing astounding, and it cracked audibly as she made a noise of pain. Yet despite that, she allowed herself a smile as she felt her bubble overwhelm the man who had been so audacious as to injure her like that, trapping him in a watery prison. She would crush him into a wonderful pearl when this was over-

But, the interference of that shield slamming into her had given her even less ability to properly fight the girl. Had she not been caught off guard, she never would have failed to win this clash, but instead she had been put off balance, and Hono's parry, followed by the kick, were both successful, sending Wellgunde away once more. Irritation was apparent in her bitter gaze, and she once more stepped toward Hono, disappearing for the briefest moment before reappearing with two hierro shells accompanying her, intent on a three-pronged assault of spear stabs. At the same time, however, she fired off a bubble with her left hand, intent on capturing this little one, as well.

Whether or not she succeeded would be another matter, but she had no particular intention of toying with her meal.

The shield striking her was a good sign. Though seeing her ally consumed by a bubble was worrying, Hono could do nothing about that, but the shield gave her enough force to overpower and kick Wellgunde back, taking a few soft breaths to recoup. The pink-haired girl had a devilish smirk on her face, seems they weren’t completely outmatched, they just needed to fight smarter.

Raising her weapon to a blocking stance, though it seemed she was ramping up her attacks, with three clones, as if blocking one wasn’t hard enough. She had to think on instinct purely, she wasn’t going to block all these attacks, but she could take the least amount of damage possible. Weaving her body to the right, while ducking a bit to avoid strikes to her face, she was able to dodge one spear, but would soon feel one pierce through her left shoulder, causing a loud grunt of pain, soon the third and final strike landed, striking her forearm, narrowly avoiding the bubble.

“R-Rend!”

She manage to shout out as she clutched onto her Zanpakuto. She only sliced Wellgunde once and she wasn’t sure how effective her Zanpakuto’s ability would be against the women, but it was her last ditch,

Where Hono first initially cut Wellgunde, the fragments left behind would begin to heat up, and would soon follow up with a slashing feeling as the center of mass would feel like it was being sliced from the front and the back at the exact same time. Hono only managed to hit her once, so the shards wouldn’t be as powerful as they could, but what else could she do?
