Wrong Place, Wrong Time (Kalama, Open to 1)

“That wasn’t the deal!” The blonde teenager yelled, her expression a mixture of excitement and fear after her fight. “You said you’d let me stand guard while you dealt with my father. Let me live and I’ll look out for you. I swear!”

Kalama mused for a few moments, seeming to weigh up the various options that were available to herself and Kurai. The assassin did so dearly want to end the family on a permanent basis and the ice girl was his only remaining child. All the two women had to do was kill her and that would be one objective done. Yet, perhaps the girl did perhaps have some use for the time being and maybe her turn traitor would only inflict more pain on the father?

In the end, she’d step forwards, looking up at the blonde woman. “If you want to see your father die then we’ll give you the chance to see it. You’re going to do exactly as ordered and stand guard outside this building. If anyone turns up, you’ll get rid of them. If just one person gets past, then we’ll make you suffer far more than your father is going to. We’re both quite creative when we want to be and I’m sure that together, we’ll find a way to stretch it out.” Her tone was so casual that it made her sound more intimidating than if she’d spoken more seriously.

The effect on the blonde woman was more than noticeable but rather than fear, it did appear that she was almost happy. “Of course. If I’m the last one alive then I get all his money, right? To get into his bunker, just look for an old fashioned fireplace on the ground floor and lift up the ornament on top of it. That’ll open up the way to the bunker for you. Be careful though. I heard he spent a lot of money on it. Be prepared!”

With that, the girl would walk past the two so that she could play her part, completely oblivious to the fact that Kalama had no intention or sticking to her word.

Turning to Kurai, she’d tut and say. “How gullible can she be to believe that we’ll spare her? Once our task is done, she can join her family in hell.”

Kurai found all of this all too amusing. Even has the wrath within her bubbled and welled, she kept herself as calm as she could. It was like the inevitable eruption of an active volcano, honestly. “It seems this family is quite foolish…” Kurai agreed and then began making her way back to the first floor. She was silent, deep in thought as she looked around for an old-fashioned fire place. After checking a couple of rooms, she found it and an ornament on top that seemed to be attached.

“I doubt there are no traps, but I’m sure we'd survive it just fine, right?” Kurai smirked as she reached up and grabbed the ornament, lifting it like the daughter had said. She was not sure of how durable her new little friend was, but that didn't matter. She waited to see if lifting the ornament actually worked, or whether it was a trap.

“I’m not worried.” Kalama answered confidently, looking forward to finally getting her hands on her employer and unleashing on him. It was all building up to it and as the anger and rage continued to swirl, the petite green haired warrior was already pondering about just how to make him suffer the most. His precious cars were gone and all but his single remaining daughter were left, a small detail that would be dealt with soon enough. What else could she do to twist the knife before he perished? Hmm. What about his money? An entertaining thought and one that had her pondering.

As the ornament was lifted, a rumbling noise was heard as the fireplace opened up, revealing a tunnel for the pair of women to enter. It wasn’t massive but enough that they’d be able to move through it without any real issue. Kalama wouldn’t hang around and entered the tunnel, starting on what could end up becoming quite the long trek. The one noticeable trait was that it was constantly heading downwards. The assassin wasn’t sure what was waiting for them but it didn’t matter.

“How cowardly can he be?” She’d utter aloud, rolling her eyes in disbelief.

As it all opened up and Kurai saw the long, downward tunnel, she rolled her eyes. “How boring…” she sighed and looked back to the daughter, irritation rising. "I change my mind. Come here," she said, grabbing the woman by the hand and pushing her down the tunnel. "Get moving," Kurai used her heel to push the woman further. If anyone was running into a trap, it was this bitch.

Once the daughter started, they began walking down the long tunnel. Kurai was becoming quite impatient as she felt her wrath waning with every passing moment. No one could hold her trigger when Kurai just got bored, and humans were easy to get bored of. Kurai's heels clicked along the floor as she picked up her pace, pushing the daughter to move more quickly. She kept alert, making sure not to run into anything too obvious, especially if it would slow the two of them down.

Somewhat amused by Kurai’s sudden impatience, Kalama wouldn’t get involved in the Arrancar’s sudden change of plan. It made sense for the blonde brat to be used as fodder anyway and she’d end up dead sooner or later. The assassin would follow along, having to admit that she was also feeling a touch of impatience due to the sudden lack of action. The fire within her still burned but it was reaching a point where she felt it needed to be unleashed, lest it simply fade away.

“This wasn’t part of the plan!” The daughter mumbled, annoyed by both the situation and the fact Kurai was using her backside as a football. Her footsteps weren’t as self assured, as if she knew that something was going to occur to her.

“We’re giving you a chance to see your father perish in the flesh. You should be fucking grateful.” The masked woman replied, taking the chance to give the woman a powerful shove.

The blonde woman huffed and kept moving. “These tunnels aren’t going to empty. I know him well enough to know that. He’ll keep his best men guarding the bunker and they aren’t going..AHH!”

Kalama took that moment to jab the woman with her zanpakuto, shocking the blonde due to its effect. “His guards aren’t going to do a damn thing. Just more scum to be gotten rid off.”

“What about me?” The girl uttered, seeming to start to twig. “Is that my actual fate too?”

The response from Kalama was another jab from her blade, forcing the girl onwards once more.

This cowardly man must have gotten cheap when building this tunnel. To Kurai’s surprise, as they walked along, there were no traps. Either that, or they hadn’t yet been built. It did seem like a new build, maybe a badly timed remodel. Kurai also notice that they were probably about forty to fifty feet underground now. Either way, after a few minutes of prodding and pushing the daughter along, they came to a more open space. At the far end was a thick, steel door, and in front of it where multiple guards, each one built differently.

The first one, Kurai nicknamed “Titan,” was about seven feet tall and built like a truck. He radiated strength around a Class 8, so he wasn’t too much of a danger. The second, Kurai nicknamed “Bozo,” was a normal sized man, athletically built, but had a stupid hair style and a perverted looking grin. He radiated power around a Class 7. The third was nicknamed “Mini-gun,” as he was the only one with a gun and only about 5’6,” so he was shorter than Kurai. He had no significant spiritual presence. The final was a woman that Kurai nicknamed “Marine,” because she was dressed in baggy cargo pants, a tight black tank-top, and clearly had a military background. The woman radiated a Spirit Class of about 6. She might actually be a problem.

“Well… He actually had a few with some strength behind them… If only these guys were outside with you and your family, we might have actually been challenged…” Kurai said, walking forward and intentionally taunting the daughter, a way to inspire her to fight with them. “He kept his best men here, while you, your siblings, and the rest fought and died out there? Daddy doesn’t care very much, does he?”

The taunt caused the blonde haired girl to flinch briefly, before snapping back with a retort. “He doesn’t care about anyone but himself and it doesn’t surprise me that he’d keep these guys down here. I’ve never ever seen any of them before but it makes sense that he’d keep them hidden. If these guys are in the way then let’s just get rid of them and move on. You promised me that I’d see him dead so let’s kill these guys and get to it.”

Kalama raised an eyebrow slightly at the ferocity of the girl but having seen her kill her sister, perhaps she shouldn’t have been so surprised. Whatever the case, Kurai seemed to have lit a fire under her and seeing the girl so upset actually caused Kalama’s hatred to churn somewhat. The daughter surely knew her eventual fate but it was all pushed aside at the thought of killing her father.

“It seems there isn’t much need for a debate then.” She replied dryly, eyeing up their opponents with a slight tilt of the head. It was about time that they had a decent fight and rotating her shoulders a bit, the assassin’s eyes began to radiate with spiritual energy. If this was going to be a proper fight then she was going to cut loose

“Shunko.”

Flames would burst out around the assassin's form, coating Kalama in a film of fire that surrounded her body. It wasn’t all that pretty on the eyes, a sign of her lack of mastery but it was more than enough to give their weaker opponents a moment of pause. It was a difficult technique for her to use effectively but she wasn’t concerned. In fact, she moved in without an awful lot of thought, using her Shunpo to close in on the giant of a man and hurl a flaming fist at him, causing a burst of fire to surround the pair.

The daughter, hardening her resolve, would focus on the weakest of the group, unleashing a blast of ice in his direction, in an attempt to prove herself.

The fight was well and truly on.

Igniting a fire under ice girl was just what Kurai was trying to do. The woman would fight for them now, trying to get her revenge on Daddy-dearest. She watched the battle begin, even intrigued, almost impressed, by the ability that Kalama had displayed. Kurai thought for a moment about unleashing more power here, but doing so would likely cause more problems than fix, so she decided to stay back and support the two with small doses of Cero, at least for as long as she could.

Titan: In seeing Kalama rush him immediately, the responded by lifting his large arm and placing it in front of her incoming attack. Even though his skin was clearly burning under her fire, he did not seem to react. The man smirked and countered with a heavy punch, his whole arm seeming like a battering ram coming toward her.

Bozo: “Aw, lookin’ like I ain’t gettin’ no attention here,” the man said and then rushed Kalama from behind in an attempt to slow her down for Titan’s punch. However, Kurai utilized her range and large view of the field to fire off a small cero that slammed into the unaware man’s side, sending him slamming into the wall behind him.

Mini-gun: Seeing the blast of ice coming toward him, he dropped to the ground like a coward. “Of course, you wanna fuck with me?! Let’s go!” he yelled, standing up and aiming his mini-gun at the daughter, immediately pulling the trigger. If she dodged, Mini-gun followed her movement and would end up spraying bullets where she went.

Marine: As Kurai fired off her cero, she noticed a shift in reiryoku. Marine was right at her side and sending a well aimed kick to the side of Kurai’s head. Kurai didn’t get the chance to duck out of the way, noting the woman’s speed over anything else. Knocked into a nearby wall, Kurai smirked and licked a bit of blood from her lips. “And how did you get there?” Kurai asked, but Marine said nothing in return.

He was made of some fucking strong stuff and Kalama rose an eyebrow at the lack of damage her attack did. The Shinigami could smell the burnt skin and yet he was looking at her as though it hadn’t done anything. It pissed her off and at that moment, she wanted nothing more than to rip his head off. Her mood would have an effect on her Shunko although it wasn’t exactly a benefit, in fact it would only make the form even more unstable. The assassin knew that more training was required in order for her to master it but what better way to do it than in combat?

He followed through with a powerful punch of his own, forcing the green haired woman to have to step backwards, dodging his attack in a rather graceful fashion. She could feel the strength behind it though and by reflex, she’d try to counter, placing her hands together and channelling her Shunko, releasing a blast of flame in front of her. It was rather potent but the shape was all over the place, causing her accuracy to be a little scattered.

The daughter had her own issues at that point, having to create an ice shield in front of her to defend from the gunner’s barrage of bullets. Gritting her teeth, she’d kneel down in a defensive stance, only able to move slowly towards him to close the distance. Her goal was rather simple but the reason for her wanting to close in soon became apparent, her shield suddenly sprouting four spears of ice that shot forwards towards her target. She was fuelled by both fear and excitement, her bright eyes rather wild. She’d never thought of combat to be fun but today, she was learning a great deal.

Titan: “You bi-…Ahhh AHHHHH AHHHHHH. SHE SET ME ON FIRE,” the large monster of a man seemed terrified of the incoming flames. His clothes were mostly burnt away, his skin scorched and ashen as she tried to pat it all out. As the anger welled within him, so did his reiatsu. He charged at Kalama, each step as heavy as a wall of steel slamming into the ground. “Get back here, you little bitch!”

Bozo: Struggled to his feet, barely able to move after getting hit by that cero. Pulling a knife from his belt, he waited for a moment where he thought Kalama was distracted and threw it right at her back, aiming for the center.

Mini-gun: As the daughter approached, he laughed harder and harder and harder, watching her shield slowly be torn away by bullets, but never actually piercing through. Clearly, he felt he was going to wear her down before she got to him. When the ice suddenly sprouted spears, he could do nothing to dodge. Each sharp point stabbed a part of his body, including his lungs. He collapsed and began choking on his own blood. He wouldn’t make it for very long.

Marine: Kurai’s entire focus was on this Marine woman. The two ended up in a stalemate through hand-to-hand combat, and Kurai would be lying if she said she wasn’t impressed at the woman’s skill. However, this woman utilized strength and had little speed. Kurai, on the other hand, had both. A single heavy swing and Kurai was able to take advantage of this woman’s mistake. She side stepped the swing and let the woman trip over her foot. Marine hit the dirt and rolled over to stand, but was met with a cero to her face. The top half of her body was blown completely off, the dirt and rock behind her having been crumbled some as well. As the bottom half collapsed of Marine, Kurai looked to the rest to see how they were doing.
