First Steps Forward (Tento/Hayden)

From Hayden’s view he would see a number of figures. A black long haired women with an onion nose ring. A small man with a red mohawk. A tall lady with dark purple hair. A bald headed big boned fellow as he liked to be called. And a rather scary skinny looking man. Each of them doing one thing or another. Talking, eating a bag of chips. Laying on the ground trying to catch their breath. A few soft complaints coming from a number of them as the new recruits were getting more than they asked for.

Perhaps Tento was a bit too eager in his greeting. That hearty side of him did do too much when he was trying to make a good first impression. It was important to make the newer members of the division comfortable and knowledgeable about their division. Soul King knows it was going to be a hard road for the death squad's life. The fourth division seemed not much different for now, but that was far the case. Each division was its own being, and if Hayden stayed long enough. He was sure enough to see the rowdier members or have people come out of their shells. And that was not counting the seated officers!

With a nod of his head at Hayden’s words. Tento took a quick size up of the man. Trying to get a feeling of his relaxed energy and build. He seemed in shape, a good thing. Because if he did not have some physical abilities Tento was going to grind that out fast. He could not let anyone in the 4th not have average physical conditioning at the least. It was critical for the warriors of the Gotei to be such, and have a skill with their blades. “I would hope so, because now that you are here there are no easy ways out”.

Hearing out Hayden’s question Tento gave a thought of a number of things. “Well first and foremost we need to get you situated”, he would start while reaching a hand up, pointing his thumb behind himself towards the general members barracks. “Find an empty bed in the guy section. Make yourself comfy. Then later today, go by one of the 4th’s secretaries to make sure the paperwork is there and everything is covered. We don't need things to get messy if they still have you assigned to your old home”. After speaking Tento would let his hand drop. “After that, you can either join in on this sections morning kata. Or you can check the duty board by the barracks. There are general tasks that still need to be done that are a variety of things. You can sign up for something later in the day or tomorrow and we can take it from there”.

Tento watched the man’s eyes as he looked towards one of the 4th’s barracks. It was pretty much an exterior of what you would expect with the standards of the Gotei United. The man got his advice nice enough by his guess. It was not a bunch of complex things after all. It did not look like he had much on himself personally from what Tento could tell, unless he had some awesome new tech from the third division. But if not he could just go back and get what he needed bit by bit. It would not be hard to find people to help him either.

To put it quite frankly, Tento was not aware of any ‘hazing’ the members of the 4th division did to each other as well as any new members. Given their rowdy, tough history and lineage he would not be surprised if anyone from the outside looking in that the division was rough or cruel in welcoming people in. And as far as that went, Tento would not lie that there were people ‘rough around the edges’ in the division. However there was no such thing as hazing. At least to his knowledge and experience from as well as since joining the 4th division after graduating from Shino. Nothing was a guarantee though.

“Sounds good Hayden, take your time”, Tento said giving a nod of his head. Hayden did have a bit of time, there was going to be at least a five minute break to allow the others to catch their wind. Depending on what he had to do, he could always catch another group later in the day or simply hop in when he was finished with the urgent stuff. Tento watched Hayden for a few seconds as he moved passed, Tento turned to see the group resting from their workout. The day was young and still holding a lot more to come. He crossed his arms in a quiet contentment. These guys were hard workers and had a good idea how to help train them today. He was curious about what this new face had in store though, and it tickled at the back of his mind while he let the seconds tick by.
