Re: Two Of Bastos [Samantha, Sumana]

"Safira Aldrovandi" | Snake Lady
'Safira' sank slowly into a makeshift seat, wondering how well Sam could handle herself whilst noting that she hadn't baulked at the idea of drinking straight from the bottle. Perhaps it was potential, or desperation, or indignation. Frankly, she could work with any of the three. There was the opportunity now for Sam to break free from her grasp without embarrassing herself, as 'Safira' settled into her perch.
"You were the one begging to get out of the bar. Or should I have taken you somewhere a little more intimate?"
She chuckled at that, not that the idea itself was amusing but perhaps just to lighten the awkwardness of it all. They could both be rough around the edges, it seemed.
"But you've been working for a long while now, haven't you? Even here, the most idyllic holiday destination on the planet, and you can't quite manage to clock out. That's a tough shake. So is it that terrible of me to try and show you that it doesn't always have to be that way?"

"I think you're thinking of Hawaii." Samantha noted idly as she took another slow drink from the bottle before sighing softly, a gentle noise of content as she offered a lopsided smile.
"So. When will you be dropping the Owner act?" She ventured, that smile of hers widening slightly. Even buzzed as she was, she'd picked up on a number of ....interesting quirks about the woman that was with her. But she was not so inhebriated to imagine that their current location was something an Owner would take someone like her to. "Usually when someone takes you to a secondary location, its where they feel most comfortable. An owner of a resort... would more likely bring me to their....fancy penthouse, or someplace like that. But no.... you're most comfortable away from prying eyes. Away from everything~"
That crooked smile of Samantha's widened a bit playfully. She gently reeled Sumana towards her with the grip she maintained on the woman's hand. Not out of any attachment, but as a means of maintaining physical control, taking the woman's wrist like a leash as they were brought close.
"So, do I get to see the real woman whose charmed me away from the bar?"

Still sharp as a tack it seemed, yet Sam’s little exposé didn’t seem to phase Safira all that much. It was certainly true that she was not the owner of that bar nor had she swept her away to a penthouse suite to sneak her way under that detective’s nose with a fine view and some finer perfume. But this was also where she felt more comfortable. A place where she knew every single eye was on her, because there was only one pair.
“If that’s your idea of a good holiday spot then you really are an old timer.”
Her head tilted away whilst being pulled in, feeding Sam a colder shoulder as she was ensnared. That comment about seeing the real her deflected by the absence of that gaze which had until now remained focused entirely upon the other woman. Still, she couldn’t help but tumble into Sam’s lap as the last little distance between them disintegrated.
“You’re still on the case, aren’t you? Working me like some crook with secrets to spill.” Though she was looking away, Safira did make it quite obvious that she was pouting. “But maybe I was a little too obvious, talked a pretty big game. I just work at a different bar, on the other side of the resort, and wanted a little escape. You can’t really blame a girl for that, can you?”

Samantha's smile softened and she canted her head to the side, a forlown expression dawning as she lightly ran her thumb in a circle along the woman's wrist. "I've heard plenty of people say I'm an old soul." She noted quietly, as her mind flashed back to a time far before she'd ever come to be what she was now. When the man that had taken her in had shown her pictures of Hawaii in a dusty old magazine. "So perhaps."
She didn't allow the pouting to bother her, especially not when the woman wound up settled into her lap, though she couldn't help but chuckle softly and flash a toothy grin at the notion that she was working a job. Lightly curling her arm around the woman's waist as she hummed. "If This was a case then you'd be face down with a gun to your head. Sorry.... Detectives make awful party goers. My job I came here with is already done. Never heard of you, or this Safira woman before I came here. But m'afraid that I just can't help but notice when people are pulling wool." She paused, and took the bottle with her free hand again. Another swig.
"Mhn. I simply stumbled drunk into this particular secret of yours. If I was a better person, I wouldn't have said anything. But you know.... when this lovely tropical flower steals my attention. I'd much rather know what it was, rather than what it's pretending to be. Makes it much less awkward if I want to pluck it for myself." She tilted her head. "But hey. If you want me to keep calling you Safira, I won't go yucking your yum."

"Don't threaten me with a good time." She finally bit back, just a little, at that remark about being pressed to the ground, but it was also good to see just a little bit of self-loathing mixed into the honesty. That was reassuring. "But Safira is my real name, easier to pretend to be something I'm not than someone and you saw right through that. Now are you going to pluck me or should I be the one getting worried that you haven't let go of me?"
Though it wouldn't have been too much trouble to slip out of that grip if she wanted, even assuming that this cop was a little stronger than she looked, Safira continued to let herself remain at Sam's mercy. The onus remained entirely on Sam as to what she wanted to do, and it was only a matter of time before the liquor had washed away the awkwardness that this little inquisition had created. Sure, she was moving a little stiffer than before - like a kid caught with a hand in the cookie jar - but every failure was a new opportunity. The only question was how exactly it would be used.
"Besides, my little secret's out of the bag but I bet you have a few of your own. Could always break the ice that way, and who else could I really tell?"

So she was still going with that was she? Samantha's expression hardly shifted as the woman insisted that she was indeed Safira. It didn't matter to her frankly, they seemed not to be violent, though she still was aware that might change. She probably should have had her guard up. But she honestly just couldn't be assed. No, she simply stared down at the little serpent as they ventured as to her own secrets.
"Secrets? I can't say I really have any. Have I witheld information from a lot of my clients? Sure. Have I told them the full story and watched them fold like chairs anyway? Sure have. But I'm afraid I don't think I really have anything like secrets. I have things people don't know. But frankly, I don't know who would really care. I suppose my only real current secret, is that I know you aren't who you say you are. But you've already got that one." She murmured with a slight narrowing of her eyes.
"I hate secrets. Why else would I make my life's occupation finding out the truth for people?" She murmured, as she raised the bottle to her lips, and promptly took another gulp, setting it down with a dull Clink before wiping her mouth as those pretty blues locked onto Sumana.
"Which is why I intend on getting the truth out of you. One way or the other."
A drunken little smile flitting across her lips.
