» Appearance Written: Rose stands at a reasonable 5 feet 10 inches tall, with reddish brown hair tumbling down to the small of her back with a very slight wave. Green-blue eyes stand above a small nose and plush lips, set in fair skin, and has a body with rather generous curves. She has several piercings in each year, though she doesn’t always wear them, and has several other piercings on her body. However, when she becomes too distracted, or too emotional, or honestly just feels like it, her form becomes less…stable. Her expressions may slip into the uncanny valley, eyes, mouths, and the like may show up in other places on her body, she may forget how her joints work and simply move her body however is most convenient at any given moment.

As a consequence to the effort necessary to gain her body, Rose is very free in her appreciation of her body, and rarely loses an opportunity to show it off, often choosing to dress in provocative outfits, and favoring bright, happy colors alongside.

» Personality: Generally speaking Rose is a very energetic, happy person, who doesn’t always quite…understand personal boundaries. She’ll often find herself going off on topic after topic to complete strangers, not even realizing that possibly they wouldn’t be as interested in said topics as herself. She’ll also never hesitate to try and make friends with anyone, whether or not they want her to. She even sees combat, when she gets involved in it, mostly as a big game.

It takes a lot to make her truly mad, and she’ll likely hold a grudge for quite a while if someone does. There are definitely people that think that she is sadistic, or unfeeling, when that could be the furthest thing from the truth. However, she doesn’t really see a reason to stop experiments or allow them to be bound by petty concerns such as ‘ethics’ or ‘pain thresholds’. This is a woman who experimented on her own body and completely destabilized her own form in an attempt to gain a body she actually liked after all, if she could take it why can’t everyone else?

Speaking of her body, Rose is more than eager to experience everything she can and repeatedly experience things that are enjoyable. Which has left people applying certain labels on her that are normally rather derogatory, which she’s chosen to own rather than be resentful of. She also has a bit of an obsession with eldritch horror and the macabre, which can be an interesting source of whiplash for many.

Despite all this, Rose is (or at least attempts to be) a fairly kind person, happy to help and share her knowledge to anyone who asks for it, or who she just thinks needs it. Knowledge should be shared after all, and if she's able to help herself why wouldn't everyone want the same? The fact remains however that what she sees as helping and what others view as such don't always match up, often leading to misunderstandings and social conflict.

» History: Rose's time as a living person was, in her own words, stupid. Born into a fairly average middle class family things were well enough, at least until she managed to articulate exactly why she never felt comfortable in her own skin. She spent her life mostly in an apathetic haze as her family adamantly insisted she remain their 'son', and only when she was old enough to escape them legally was she able to begin the process to change her body into something she actually was comfortable in. For the first time in her life her world wasn't grey and dull, and things were looking up. She was meeting people who liked her for herself, she was finding out more about herself every day.

Then she got hit by a truck.

So yeah, her life among the living was stupid. And when she died? She was expecting, hoping that her soul at least would align with who she was, but no, it was caught in the same halfway-through-transition stage her living body was in when she died and woke up in Rukongai. Upon realizing that she threw a small, perfectly reasonable in her opinion, tantrum. Fortunately, depending on who you ask, her tantrum caused her to release just enough spiritual power to get her noticed, and shipped off to the academy.

In the academy she found she could bloom, she still at least looked right, even if there were some things she needed to find a way to change, and to that end she fell in love with Kido as she felt, if anything could help her change her body, the very appearance of her soul, it would be the demon arts. The idea of a companion in the form of her Zanpakutou was also something she found extremely alluring. Through significant effort she managed to keep at the head of the pack in her classes on Kido and Zanjutsu, though did fall into the middle for her other skills. Interestingly, with her Kido, she would often be found even as a student experimenting with the spells she could use at the time to find different applications for them, to apply them to everyday life.

It was also in those years that Rose began to bloom. Despite her frustrations with her form, which at least were less than if she had died before beginning her transition in life, she found herself for the first time reach out to her peers, exploring the social enviornment she found herself in. She began to let express her interests and find joy, reveling in the feelings. And maybe she got a reputation as a bit of a slut. She didn't particularly care.

Upon graduation she immediately applied to, and joined, the Third division of the Gotei, and threw herself into her research. Focusing primarily on the manipulation of a Shinigami's body. She especially took a focus on applied Kido to the spiritual form, arguing that if everything was made of spiritual power made manifest and if it could be manipulated in one form then it should be able to be manipulated in every form. Her experimental results were...odd, but she didn't let that stop her, applying kido, chemistry, augmentation, and anything else she could get her hands on.

This included the newly discovered capabilities she found after awakening her Shikai. Rose was certainly not one let any possible skill or resource be left to fester, so she kept the work that put her in the front of her class in Zanjutsu to work and spent time bonding with her Asauchi, meditating, reaching for it, (performing dubious experiments that she never told anyone about to try and get a reaction). It took years of dedicated effort, alongside the effort she put into her experimentation and Kido work, but eventually she heard the voice of her Zanpakutou, who she instantly bonded with. The two personalities were in fact, possibly a bit too compatible as Rose found herself becoming more than a little unhinged with the encouragement of her Zanpakutou.

She used the excuse that she was merely attempting to find more efficient ways to perform healing or perhaps battlefield triage with her superiors, and after several years, she had almost everything she needed, and with the help of Captain Urahara she was ready. She prepared her experimentation chamber, set up the various apparatus, Urahara primed the experimental Kido, she stepped into the specially created pod that would take in everything and rebuild her, and used herself as the first live test.

This was a mistake. Or...well she wound up happy with the results in the end, but still. The procedure reduced her to nothing but a seemingly molten flesh mannequin. It took her hours before she figured out the trick to reforming her sensory organs, and days before she regained all of her movement. Fortunately for her she wasn't completely alone, and Urahara at least help keep her alive while she worked on regaining control over her body. So she spent nearly another week learning how to stabilize her form into something she was happy with. Ecstatic with really, and now her body did all kinds of weird things she found extremely entertaining!

She did her best, even after leaving the lab, to keep taking time to learn more about her form, and over time she has gained a small amount of control over her body, though she feels that with work she'll be able to turn this into something...more.



» Natural Abilities:
Unbound Form: Rose made the frankly unwise decision to perform a completely untested, unpublished, and ill-thought out procedure on herself in an attempt to give herself the body of her dreams. The result…technically allowed for that. But not at first, and not easily. The procedure reduced her into, effectively, a featureless mannequin of spiritual energy and flesh. Her shape, her body, were completely bound to her ability to focus on herself and what she expected to work. Her body’s shape is an extension of her perception of herself. With a lot of work she managed to be able to shape herself into a body she feels happy in, and has even learned how to make some changes deliberately, though when she gets distracted or emotionally charged she sometimes loses some of this focus and moves her body, or does things with it that wouldn’t normally be possible. Such as turning her head completely around, extra eyes opening, and the like. At this time, other than increased flexibility and perhaps a bit of creepiness this doesn’t really give her any benefits, though with training and work the possibilities are potentially limitless.

For mechanical purposes, at this time Saera has effectively omnidirectional joints, but her form must still confirm to a human skeleton. Her joints are all in the normal places even if they move however they want. She cannot increase mass or decrease it, so no growing or shrinking to effect reach or dodge. She can form features if herself, such as additional eyes, mouths, ears, etc all over her body if she wants.

» Zanpakutō Spirit:

Kanki no Sekai is, above all, curious. It is curious about the various beings that inhabit the worlds. It is curious about the experiences and sensations of life, death, and everything in between. It craves to know more and more, to experience everything it possibly can, mostly vicariously through Rose. It also holds very few things as more important than satiating these curiosities, about the only thing more important being the safety of Rose herself.

Kanki no Sekai tends to present itself as a playful being, acting excitable and eager when any chance to sate it's curiosity comes forward. This playfulness, however, very much can also seem...cruel or malicious. Kanki no Sekai doesn't understand the world like many other beings do, and seems somewhat alien as a whole. For example, Kanki no Sekai would act like it was a game to try and prod Rose to elicit any and every reaction she could from someone, including pain responses, horror, and betrayal. This leads to Kanki no Sekai seeming very similar to an exuberant, if sometimes terrifying, child.

» Inner World: A great city, seeming to be an amagamation of building styles, enviornments, and climates from all over the living world in an indescribable mish mash of construction. The further from Kanki no Sekai itself the more stable the landscape is, but the closer to the spirit the more the buildings, plants, structures, everything begins to warp and twist into fantastical spires and constructs that defy description and understanding until it becomes a fractured echo of the cityscape trapped inside a shifting fever dream.

» Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance: A standard katana with the guard being formed in the image of writhing tentacles with eyes peeking through each space between the appendages.

» Sealed Zanpakutō Power: With concentration Rose is able to manipulate physical objects in her environment that have not been created by another's power like a particularly thick putty that she can sculpt and shape, though it takes time and effort to do so as it's consistency is incredibly thick and resistant to change. She must do this by hand, so it is similar to sculpting clay. She can sculpt roughly 3 cubic inches of material in 5 posts, or make a single alteration at rapid speeds (such as scooping a small divot in the ground to make a tripping hazard) and the effects revert after roughly 10 posts. This ability is only usable out of combat

Multiple instances of this attack do not stack.

» Roleplay Sample: Rose was in the middle of a conversation with...someone. she didn't remember their name, though they were cute, and were listening to her babble so that was always a plus! She was just about to start talking about just why she was so fond of curry, when she felt someone poke her on the back. Her head snapped completely around and she gasped and smiled at the sight of Yuki, and lost a bit of the control she had been holding over her form, causing her smile to stretch more than should strictly speaking be possible and multiple extra eyes to open up across her face with an excited twinkle as she looked at her favorite person.

"Yuki! It's been so long since I've seen you, like, an entire week! Where have you been!"

Rose turned her body to match her head's orientation and grabbed Yuki's arm, dragging her towards the bar to really get the night started.
