Reyla Natori [WIP]

» Appearance Written: Reyla stands at roughly 6'3, much to her own consternation, and that height is only augmented by a pair of gnarled horns bursting from her forhead, through her thigh-length deep purple hair, and twisting upwards. The deep, rich brown horns seem to shine with a dull gold when they catch the light, and spiral upwards another good five inches above the top of her head, and compliment the relatively short dragon's tail that sprouts from her lower back. The tail is an almost coal black, and has a bright red tuft of fur at the end where it rests just about halfway down her calves. Her body is lean, with a small layer of soft pudge over her muscles which are clearly more designed for fast explosive movements than feats of continuous strength. Thanks to a rigorous skincare routine her ivory skin is visibly, almost unnervingly flawless save for a smattering of black scales scattered across her body, and has a texture similar to silk but...fleshier. Her deep purple hair is contrasted by a pair of clear, wine-red eyes that are often displayed through artful use of makeup to appear as vibrant as possible.

» Personality: To most Saera would likely come off as...detached. A polite woman, definitely, but always exactly within the bounds of what is required, and it always feels stilted, as if she's simply playing a part. Mostly because she is, when dealing with people who aren't counted among the few she lets close to her. The simple truth is that for the most part, she doesn't get people, and she's perfectly fine with that.

Those who manage to get close to her get to see her slightly less stilted, experience her dry sense of humor, and wind up subject to her rather long winded talks about...anything that catches her interest at any given time. And Reyla can certainly go on about a topic that interests her. That is one thing that hasn't changed even remotely between her existence as a living human and an unliving Shinigami. She hyperfocuses, normally on trying to find new ways to break previously understood laws and limitations within her personal fields of study.

Reyla is slow to anger, though quick to annoy. She can appear angry when she gets annoyed or irritated, but at worst she'll make pointed, waspish comments to someone until they go away. When she gets angry she shuts down. She doesn't yell, mock, or anything like that. When she does speak it is in a perfect monotone and never a word more than is absolutely necessary. She will, if the situation allows it, attempt to extricate herself from the situation first, and then proceed to hold onto her grudge until something forces her to let it go, though that takes quite a bit of work. If she's unable to simply leave the situation, or if she's not dealing with someone that it would be problematic to make clear enemies with, she gets sadistically violent. Eager to cause as much pain to the source of her ire as possible, rather than to simply remove them or get some level of 'basic' revenge.

As for loyalty...Reyla holds loyalty to herself, and to the people she allows close, though she'll complain the entire time she's showing it to them. The idea of loyalty simply to an institution beyond being loyal to the continued funding of her research is ridiculous to her. Though, to be fair, funding is worth quite a bit.

» Natural Abilities:
Finely tuned Spiritual sense: Reyla's ability to sense the composition and density of reiryoku has always been far beyond the normal pale. With training she has developed this ability so that she can analyze various spells, skills, and presences and break them down mentally into component parts. In terms of spells this means that she finds the actual crafting or modifying of Kido significantly easier than most as she can isolate the various components of the spell structure to work with or recombine. With people this means she can get some very generic data about their abilities from the way their Reiryoku is expressed, mostly simply telling if they are elementally aligned, or if their abilities are more defensive compared to offensive and vice versa. Nothing about their intenisty, what the skills themselves are, or anything along those lines.

Eidetic Memory:Reyla has an eidetic memory, and has put in the effort to create a mental palace to allow her to review her memories while in a meditative state so she can further examine and pick them apart. This allows her to pick up knowledge at what seems to be an accelerated rate as she's able to constantly review what she's learned over and over until it sticks, as well as review her memories to try and find something she may have missed.

Detail Oriented:Due to her previously stated abilities, and her proclivity for research, Reyla is an extremely detail oriented individual. Able to take in large amounts of information rapidly and sift through it for anything pertinent in an instant so as to be able to react properly to the situation. This is especially useful when experimenting with more volatile Kido where a quick response could be the difference between singed eyebrows and a missing jaw.


» Racial Abilities:
Kido based telekinesis:When first developing her skills with Kido Reyla started out studying very low level cantrip style spells. Spells so simple they were more along the lines of control exercises than any kind of actually recognizable Kido, one of which allowed for the manipulation of small objects from a mid-ranging distance with ones own spiritual energy. In order to develop her control Reyla began using this spell at all opportunities until it became reflexive. The unintended consequence of this is that Reyla is so used to using that spell that without thinking about it or using any kind of verbal cue Reyla can now manipulate small objects, up to the combined weight of a full plate of food and a full coffee mug, as long as they are within fifty feet of her. For the most part she uses this simply to multitask and make things easier, but she has trained this ability to the point where a regular part of her combat arsenal is using this to control a small swarm of up to 10 senbon wrapped in her reiryoku.
