Sick burn, brah [Hannah/Kokuto]

"Getting people out of the way" had been a nice way to put it. Most of what that had entailed was quite literally throwing the other members of the Vandenreich out of the way of Ichigo's attacks.

Considerably less heroic, but, it did do something at least. Even if he wasn't obsessed with being the best, saving everyone and all of that, there still was something that he felt was wrong with the idea that even saving one person was enough. Maybe that was just a normal thing.

However, as Hannah stopped, Kokuto stopped as well, turning to look at her. He probably should have figured she didn't exactly know where she was going. So, with a quiet chuckle, Kokuto gave her a light nudge.

"Sure, no problem. Want me to hold your hand?"

It was a light jest, not a particularly great one, but, hey, maybe it'd lighten the air. Things had gotten pretty heavy, after all. Regardless of the answer, Kokuto would lead the way for her to the City of Light's training grounds.

As they arrived, Kokuto raised an eyebrow at what she said, turning to look at the dome as it spread around the grounds. Reinforcing the place, huh? Well, that certainly made him feel a bit better about cutting loose. It was big enough to give them plenty of room to work with when it came to mobility and overall destructive potency.

As she cast another barrier spell, Kokuto stretched for a moment, before a flash of red energy coiled around his body and his Devil Steel activated. If she was gonna be firing back at him, he needed to be sure that he could take the damage just as well. When she nodded, Kokuto took a breath, before suddenly launching forward, his body pushed at greater speeds than he normally was capable of as flames erupted from behind him.

Despite the distance, he was able to cover it quickly, and as he closed in on her, a small, white orb of fire manifested in his hand before he released a stream of white flames toward her.

Instinctual reaction made him suddenly unleash a column of flames underneath him, sending him upward and avoiding Hannah's Kido in response. Frankly, it wouldn't have been a problem for him to just sit there and take the hits, but, he didn't want to lose the distance between them.

Columns of fire kept him suspended in the air as the chains on his shackles suddenly elongated and ignited, and Kokuto lashed out with them to try and force her to move, or at least keep her attention from himself. One of the chains slithered back and returned to him as he summoned Rakshasa's Claw.

"Powers might be simple, but I ain't stupid."

The chain attached to the pommel of the sword, and Kokuto was quick to swing it, sending thin, burning sword slashes toward her that could potentially risk putting strain against her barriers. Even in the swings of his sword, he was still a powerhouse.

Gut instinct ordered Kokuto to move, and, holding his arm out to the side, caused another burst of concentrated flames to erupt, pushing him over and out of the way of the purple blaze. Keeping the momentum, Kokuto quickly surged forward, hurling his sword like a spear with power comparable to a tank round.

Not long after, however, flames came to life in his palm, and with a swing of his arm, the demon unleashed a flurry of large, white fireballs that rained down on Hannah, each having a similar level of physicality behind them. As he threw them, he dismissed the flame jets at his feet, falling to the ground and pulling his sword back to him.

For now, he'd stick to using those jets to move quicker on the ground. He couldn't just stay in the air through the entire fight while literally burning energy to do so.

He wasn't all that surprised with the durability of her barriers, given her healing was skilled enough to make his mug look more palatable. It was a bit irritating for his strength to have virtually no effect, but, it just meant that he needed to just keep getting stronger. He didn't listen all that much to what she was saying -- he wasn't anywhere close to his limits yet, though, maybe he did need a new tactic.

What that would be, he didn't know. As Rakshasa's Claw landed in his hand, Kokuto prepared to kick off the ground and surge forward, only to stop as she unleashed a colossal wave of ice. Judging from her skill in presumably Shinigami magic, he had a feeling that this wasn't something to just sneeze at. But, there was still the thing -- it was ice.

As the frozen air began to surround him, a sudden blast of heat erupted from his body, and silver-white flames turned blue as they coated him, expanding to the space around him. The icy air quickly heated up, melting and evaporating long before it would touch him.

He could feel his body, both internally and externally, heating up as he unleashed the highest level of his flames, but, as the ice faded, the flames would subside, keeping himself ready for another attack. His skin had turned pink, compared to the apricot-like color his skin had before, and steam emitted from him, a constant, suffocating heat encompassing the space inside the barrier.

"Got any suggestions, then? Ain't a whole lot of tactics for someone like me."
