The Sea's No Ally (Tier/Vandenreich)
Tue Mar 21, 2023 10:18 pm
Tier Harribel | The Shark of Hueco
Reality broke, the seams of the world opening a mouth full of jagged teeth. Inside the emptiness of the void between worlds shown, the stench of negativity plaguing the shore of this would be sanctuary. A heel emerged from the recess of nothingness, a woman, clad in white, making her presence known before the pearly gates of this blinding city. With skin the color of tanned butter and hair as bright as the sun, the woman's emerald gaze lingered on the path before her. She is not human, and it is that reason that she waited for them to notice her malignant signature and react as they should. The weapon at her side, the cloth around her face, and the hole where her belly button should be described her existence with a single word.
Arrancar.
Tier Harribel is here, gracing this City of Lights with her presence. With purposely slow steps, she carried herself forward, her stride exuding nothing but confidence in her decision. Come as they may, she will not be intimidated from her goal.

Liltotto Lamperd
As she was on duty going about the city, Liltotto wasn't really expecting much eventful apart from the usual bout of small trouble that may have occurred on the street, having been at relative peace until the sudden introduction of a powerful scent crossed her. An Arrancar? It wasn't just the occasional Arrancar that was going about their day peacefully either; she could tell they were powerful, and wanted to be noticed. Her feet immediately carried her to the source as soon as she identified a potential threat; Was it Ichigo? Had he come back to threaten them? Her heart was leaping from her chest but she didn't let her emotions deter or stir her from acting.
Even with her lack of speed technique she was plenty fast on her own, eventually skidding to a hard stop once she was face to face with the intruder. Her appearance unmistakably matched one name in her mind: Tier Harribel. Why was she here? She hadn't heard of her acting anytime recent, so her suddenly showing up and not looking terribly up for a friendly chat was something that had to be dug for.
"Hey," She'd call the woman's attention if she hadn't already grasped it, "I don't think I have to tell you you're intruding, so i'll keep it brief - Why are you here? I don't want this to escalate if we don't have to, talking isn't entirely off the table."

NATASHA MILLER | HUMANITY'S STRONGEST SOLDIER
There truly was never a dull day in the City of Lights, huh? It hasn't even been a month since she's returned in full, and now there appears to be another situation on her hands. A simple day at the office has now turned into blaring alarms alerting her to the presence of an Arrancar. Making her way through the Sternritter sector, Natasha casts a curious gaze toward the holographic display screen before her. Heh... another Arrancar, huh? Natasha recalled the old song and dance before, but if this played out the same way... then that would be less than ideal. At the very least, she was prepared for that outcome if it came to it.
After requesting for backup on standby, Natasha would make a beeline for the door as she stepped outside the Vandenreich's building, darting forward with Hirenkyaku amplifying the speed of her charge. Ideally, her aim was to reach this lady before she could go any further. The civilians clearly weren't going to vibe with the idea of another powerful Arrancar entering their city without going through the proper channels.
The closer she gets, the more overbearing her spiritual pressure feels - as though a weight was bearing down on her body. As she reached the destination were that blatant spiritual energy lied, Natasha happened to see that her favorite peer Liltotto had already arrived on the scene, aiming to converse with the woman standing a few meters away. Without a moment's hesitation, she'd walk up to step beside Liltotto, peering at Harribel with an inquisitive gaze.
"Well, darn. You beat me right to it, Lil~! Anyway, you heard the lady, sweetheart. I know our city's a nice and lovely place, but would ya mind fillin' us in before ya enter? We can get cha' pretty situated once we know why you're here."

Tier Harribel | The Shark of Hueco
She had busied herself with only her objective. Approaching humans interested her none. The fact that even approached is nothing more than an afterthought, already fading in the back of her mind. Though, out of respect for the area, she stopped her advance and paid heed to the Quincy. The woman before her shouldn't feel bad about the uncaring glare pointed in her direction. Tier isn't a woman with a vast array of looks. However, her brows did knit with annoyance at the appearance of another woman.
"Do tell, what intruding have I done?"
Purposeful in answering with a question, Tier's eyes moved between the two Quincy, but her gaze trailed off to the city behind them. Her gaze held firm to the sparkling towers of mineral, her mind swept away with thought.

Liltotto Lamperd
A slow breath left the Sternritter's lips as she tried to tackle the situation delicately, might as well be handling a bomb with how powerful the woman was, Ex-Espada and what not, that was a potential issue if things got hostile. Wordlessly acknowledging Natasha, she'd motion slightly for her to take it easy with a hand, keeping her dull amber eyes on Tier herself.
"Ma'am, you didn't send any notice you were coming or of your intentions. I'm unsure if you've heard, but we've had an Arrancar of similar caliber to you suddenly show up several months ago and wreck the place - you have to understand our caution with unfamiliar appearances."
Slowly cupping her hands together to hang at about her waist, she'd straighten up and have her body relax, her tone cordial and respectful of the woman before her, "So if you just tell us why you're here, i'm sure we can figure out a way to help you out and escort you, within reason. It's a big city and people are still quite shaken up."
Insisting with a slight nod of the head, she'd continue, "But you have to actually tell us why you're here, or we can't help you."

Tier Harribel | The Shark of Hueco
"Ichigo Kurosaki," Tier replied, her eyes lacking any empathy for the Vandenreich's situation. The world is cruel. That she knows. Her very existence is proof. However, her blatant understanding of Liltotto's concern made her stance all the more permanence. If her goal was to destroy the Vandenreich, it would already be buried beneath the deep, dark, and cold sea.
"I can help myself, but if your Grandmaster wishes for an audience, he may have one."
She resumed walking, heading right towards Liltotto and Natasha in an attempt to step past them. Tier seemed to have little interest in mild talk, any attempts to understand what she wants futile before the stoic Arrancar. She has no wishes of involving the Quincy anymore than she must to achieve her goals, and the fewer privy to her thoughts, the better. Just as little as they trust her, she trusts them just as less. Any further attempts at civility would only cause unrest among her kind.

Liltotto Lamperd
Cool, great, she knew yet she was gonna go about her business anyway like it wouldn't cause problems to have her walk through the city unhindered. Liltotto couldn't say she was expecting this to be a smooth transaction of words but it seemed her somewhat wishful thinking was crushed underfoot of someone very insistent on walking over her. Annoyed, but unwilling to express that here - her objective was maintaining the peace here, and part of that definitely was not allowing the terrifying Arrancar with unknown motives as well as a lack of will to state them to walk freely about the city.
Calmly stepping in Harribel's path, she made it very clear that she was not intent on letting her walk freely, "Ma'am, if you don't want to discuss it with us, we can call the Grandmaster come see you here, if you could just wait a few minutes instead of burning time trying to navigate the city."'
Looking to Natasha she'd nod to her and motion her head toward the city, as to motion the Coordinator to try to get a hold of him as she'd keep Tier right where she was, with a hint of urgency in addition. This was an unpredictable situation, and between the two of them Liltotto felt far more comfortable being the one to remain in harm's way if things went sour trying to keep the woman put.

Tier Harribel | The Shark of Hueco
Now this woman is speaking Tier's language. Words are useless pacificist ways of solving issues that arise. They are full of lies and sweetness to sugar and coax a person into something they don't truly understand. Tier has no time for things of that nature. Her life was already turned upside down by pretty words once already, and that almost destroyed everything she cared for.
"You try to suggest my goals with vague language. If you simply step aside, then you will see that everything you are trying to give me is but a silly way of detaining me. If I deemed it so, your world would already be toppled."
Tier moved her hand to the side, her fingers gliding over the pommel and handle of her Zanpakuto. Reaching over, she grabbed it, unsheathing it in a speed few could follow. Some may have thought Liltotto another fool to cross Tier and suffer her wrath. However, the Arrancar made no effort to cut any relations with the Vandenreich, instead her blade finding purchase in the ground right in front of Liltotto.
"For future relations, try a tactic befitting of an organization. Maybe then, the lot of you will be worth respecting like the red haired Quincy from before."
Strength is everything to Hollowkind. Tier Harribel may find it an old custom, but it is a true custom that keeps their world stable. As she works to create something new, the old ways prove the only method that allows her such grace and time with her kind. She will not allow for a people who are less than what she expects to ever be something she'd rely on. For that reason, Liltotto's bravado brought her the time she wanted to call her Grandmaster, Tier turning away from the woman with lackadaisical steps before sitting down on the ground.

She stood unflinchingly as that weapon was drawn, her gaze affixed on the Arrancar as she did not stumble or hesitate, keeping her ground even as the sword stabbed into the shimmering white pavement before her. It just irritated her that others thought they could come by and do whatever they wanted here, cause all manner of unrest and misery with no consequence to their selves, whereas if the shoe was on the other foot that would be an excuse for everything they have to be torn asunder. Though her body did not show this frustration, her eyes did, though her personal feelings were left out of this conversation.
"Need I remind you, that this is not Hueco Mundo," A calm yet stern response was given as she awaited Natasha's return, hopefully with the Grandmaster, "It's often good for future relations, to adapt your temperament to the place you are seeking something from. Respect is transactional, like most things."

CYRUS | VANDENREICH GRANDMASTER
Cyrus arrived in fairly short order, his gaze firm and his presence commanding as he appeared on the scene. No, he certainly was not the most imposing presence in the City of Lights from any physical or spiritual perspective, but those things mattered little in the eyes of a leader. His gait was sharp, confident, and his eyes came to the Arrancar with an obvious burning drive behind their gaze.
"If you wish a meeting with the Grandmaster, then here I am. In the future, I would prefer these sorts of meetings be planned beforehand, rather than so impromptu. I don't especially relish my people being put onto high alert for the whims of others."
It wasn't really threatening, but a simple statement made to make his stance on this incursion clear. He may not have been under any illusions that he could stop this woman from returning as she please, but he would certainly make every effort to stop her regardless. It was simply in his nature, and his role as the Grandmaster.
