[Spirit Class 7 | Hazard D] Chihiro Sano

» Personality:
One can easily describe Chihiro as a bright, energetic young woman who goes about life with an alarming amount of confidence and stride. Eager to put herself out there and jump on things she perhaps may not be fully prepared to handle, people may misread her as rude or impulsive with her tendency to throw herself at things, but she has an earnest albeit compulsive desire to help out with things.

Although people may take her tendency of talking herself up as some show of arrogance or being a know-it-all, they are mostly her attempts of making sense of things that she doesn't understand in terms she would, and she actually asks an exhaustive amount of questions at times. Even if she's rather pushy and unfocused, she is giving an honest attempt to learn and grow despite her underprivileged background.

Early Life

The young woman started with a rather simple life, having been born within a rural setting in an outer district of the Rukongai to impoverished but otherwise happy parents. Her mother, whom she had grown a love of caring for plants with, had succumbed to an illness when Chihiro was still young, leaving just her and her father in the home for several years, til he remarried to a woman not too many years after who she didn't form much of a bond with, but had gained two younger siblings she adored in turn.

She had taken up responsibilities around their small farm, helping her still grief-stricken father with yardwork and playing with her siblings. Although her life was fine, she always had a feeling she could be doing more, there was a whole Soul Society out there after all, and she only knew one tiny corner of it, often looking off at the lights in the distance at night. Her father showed great disinterest, no, rejection even, in even leaving their little corner of the world, inversely, telling Chihiro everything they had here should be enough, but that didn't turn her away from her wondering.

When she got older, she realized she started feeling... Hungry? Souls weren't supposed to get hungry, and in her limited knowledge, thought she was becoming a hollow. Fearful, she'd go to her father in a panic, but her fears were swiftly quelled with an admittance - Her mother was a former Shinigami, having been forced to retire from the Gotei due to her illness, and had traveled back to her hometown, and he supposed Chihiro had enough spiritual power to become one herself. However, he forbade her from going to the Gotei, but she only saw grief and misplaced blame in his rejection, and thus she told her father she wouldn't... But wanted to know more about her mother in turn.

Even if she swore... She still made her plan to run toward what she felt was what she was meant for, bidding her home farewell around a year later in the middle of the night, knowing full well her father could probably catch up to and drag her back if she fled when he was up. She promised herself that she'd visit - even if she was pursing her aspirations she still had a home to love.

Shin-o Academy

Her first year in the academy was horrendous. She wasn't able to follow basic academics very well, unable to do basics such as reading or writing. Even if she was incredibly behind and often was looked down upon by her peers, it wasn't enough to make her drop out or slack, if anything the picking on just drove her to work and study harder, though that'd often lead to her being too sleepy in class to follow along.

Even if she suffered in basic academia, she held a lot of potential for her spiritual side. Doing marginally well in core Shinigami teachings, even imprinting on her Asauchi and forming a bond with her Zanpakuto rather early into her years at the Academy, though she had to retake some classes, inevitably graduating late even if she showed promise in other areas, having even developed Shikai.

Post-Graduation

She had taken a particular fancy in practicing Hoho and Kido, though she was much more effective with the former than the latter, if anything onlookers would say she was possibly the worst with Kido, yet she still felt gravitated to learning it, even if she has a track record of spells blowing up in her face. Such a desire led to her joining the Kido Corps, an enthusiastic but rather unskilled officer that still tries hard to better her craft, but is often put on menial or delivery-based tasks.

Even so, she still worked well with her Zanpakuto, developing her Shikai further with independent practice, even if she isn't looked upon with much expectation, she hopes to be someone others look to.



Physically Fit
Chihiro's young life was filled with chores and activities that naturally pushed her physical strength, only honing and developing this strength over time even in the academy with frequent workouts and exertions on top of developing her spiritual power. Overall, she's decently strong and in shape.



Shunpo
One of her strong suits, Chihiro's presented great aptitude in this technique, being able to use very few steps to move long distances without tiring. Though she hasn't quite gotten into creating false images or distinct variations, she definitely is pushing herself close to that level of skill.

Zanjutsu
With her quick development of her Zanpakuto spirit, the learning of her name, and overall fostering a good relationship, her blade's development has been rather impressive. Though she isn't quite there for Bankai, her Shikai is visibly maturing, and her application of it is rather apt and skillful, much like an extension of herself.

Hakuda
Albeit having not formed any individualized technique with this skill, Chihiro often exercises Hakuda as a part of her combative technique. She presents with enough competence and strength to be considered an average practitioner.


» Zanpakutō Name: 蜂満 Hachiman

» Zanpakutō Spirit: In short, Hachiman resembles a fuzzy bumblebee with an oversized stinger, a glowing liquid faintly visible in her large abdomen, and glows with a warm orange hue, appearing about the size of a kickball. She has a pair of wings that seem far too small to support her large body, yet they are found to be furiously keeping her afloat anyway, emitting a low hum in their efforts.

Hachiman is in similar spirits to her wielder, being rather high strung and a go-getter, despite her size and clumsy flight. She always serves as an encouraging voice against the odds for Chihiro, and the two actually get along quite well, though she does tend to be the more overzealous one of the pair that even Chihiro thinks can be a little much at times.

» Inner World: Chihiro's inner world takes the form of an endless, maze-like garden filled with plants that are both recognizable and made up, stretching on seemingly forever beneath a night sky, lit only by floating lanterns acting as small suns that allow growth and visibility. Insects are abundant in the garden, appearing as small motes of light taking their recognizable shapes and movements, their respective songs audible.

» Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance: Hachiman takes the form of a Tanto with a mustard yellow and black-lined sheath with a white braided adornment, the handle being predominantly braided black with golden ornaments. The tsuba is diamond shaped with a similar patterning.


» Shikai Release Phrase: "Let's do it, Hachiman!", best said with enthusiasm.

» Shikai Appearance: Her Tanto transforms, wrapping around her dominant hand to transform into a black and gold striped segmented glove, sharpened metal points covering her fingertips, her index finger's point being dressed with a long, black, stinger-like blade that is significantly larger than the other finger's.

» Shikai Abilities:

Enmitsu (炎蜜, Flame Nectar)
The main stinger on her index finger is capable of shooting a viscous golden liquid - Chihiro just refers to it as honey with how similar it is. By pulling one of her three fingers down with her thumb before firing, she can control what kind of honey her index finger fires, the following being:

Zero/all fingers flexed
Using none or all of her fingers just results in a neutral form of this Zanpakuto's honey to be shot. It isn't much unlike normal honey, except maybe being weirdly warm and stickier. More an annoyance or a movement fumbler than an active threat to combat. It smells like how you'd expect warm honey to smell.

Middle finger flexed
The first form of this ability, honey shot with this finger flexed has a noticeable glow and seems to be humming with heat, being much stickier than it's neutral counterpart. It's use isn't apparent until Chihiro snaps her fingers, in which the true nature of this seemingly harmless attack is made clear - It explodes. Even a handful of it is enough to make a devastating yet small-ranged explosion. Chihiro has complete control of how much of it explodes, however this control only gets as refined as groups of honey; if one section of honey has even a little contact with another, it counts as a group. It has a strongly sweet smell with a faint edge of kerosene.

Ring finger flexed
The second form of this ability, honey shot with this finger flexed appears rather dull and opaque, shooting out in a long connective stream instead of small spurts. This honey is incredibly thick and capable of holding considerable weight, being able to be used almost like a glue or structural instruments. It can be used like a makeshift rope to swing or transport things, tie things down, glue things together, and much more. With how slow and awkward it is to use, it's use in combat is pretty situational and likely would require some prep time. It has a mildly sweet, flowery scent.

Pinkie finger flexed
The third form of this ability, honey shot with this finger flexed do not take a liquid form, but rather immediately crystalize upon creation. These shots of honey are small but very sharp and quickly deployed structures, fired as if they are bullets. They are only very effective in a short range, not much unlike shotgun rounds, expanding and splintering upon contact with a target to increase the area of damage. It's scent has an even ratio of burnt caramel and gunpowder.
