» Appearance Written: She’s a petite, feminine woman with short brown hair and brown eyes. Izumi mostly wears elegant kimonos.


» Personality: Izumi comes off with gentle, and with a caring gaze expected from a loving mother. She speaks in a calm, kind manner that makes people feel comfortable around her. People often find themselves at ease, and she has no problem allowing them to talk and be open with her. However, Izumi’s a lot colder than she lets on. That gentle nature is merely a masterful façade to get people to trust and care for her. While they come to care, she doesn’t. She has closed her heart off to people and merely sees them as a means to an end, something to use for her survival. She doesn’t trust anyone, no matter what her actions may tell them.

Izumi does not enjoy being a manipulative person who is too scared to open her heart to those around her. It makes her extremely lonely, since everything she does is part of some act to protect her from being hurt. She has often found herself drowning in guilt, especially when some people get too close or find out about this mask she wears. She has watched people who trusted and cared for her become immensely upset when her lack of care is revealed. At least, what she wants them to believe is a lack of care. The fact is, there is a part of her that does care, that wants friends and family, but this fear of hers prevents her from admitting it to herself. How does one open up when the terror of doing so consumes them?

» Likes: Peace and quiet, her personal space, reading long adventure novels, black tea with lemon and sugar, shades of red and pink, and simplicity.

» History:
Izumi’s years in the human world were normal. She was born to two parents who didn’t give a damn about each other. She grew up in a single mother home, was doted on by her grandparents, and absolutely despised school. When she got older, she decided to go to college to become a geologist. Unfortunately, as she was close to finishing her second school year, she fell victim to a large earthquake that caused a tsunami. Unable to fight the water, she became one of the thousands of victims whose lives were taken too early by a brutal act of mother nature.

Izumi’s life in the Soul Society was lucky, at first. She appeared in one of the better districts of the Rukongai. It wasn’t the best, but it was better than the slums. She landed a job in a small café and tried working her way up. She stayed for a decade, and her hunger started to emerge. She became weak and was taken in by someone she thought cared about her. She spent time with them and she thought they were close, but when she was suddenly sold off to some gang in the slums, she figured out the truth. A lucky timed Gotei raid saved her from their plans with her.

Since they saved her life, Izumi took their leader’s advice and traveled to the Seireitei with them. Becoming a shinigami became her way to a better life. She joined Shin’o Academy and studied hard. During this time, she learned a great deal about the Gotei Thirteen and came to admire them, especially after learning about the Third World War. However, when Izumi finally graduated, she was watching the Gotei fail. Demons had inhabited the Soul Society and many, understandably, disapproved. There was a mass exodus of shinigami and The Gotei 13 was gone.

Izumi had no idea what to do next. The Gotei was no longer what she expected, what she admired. The last few years were a waste of time. She had no interest in joining them now, but she refused to go back to the Rukongai. Instead, Izumi was able to find her way to the World of the Living, and without association with the Gotei, she continued with what she believed to be the true job of shinigami: exercising hollow. Now, Isumi works as a rogue, alone and without association to a group. However, she’s not sure how long this lifestyle is going to last.


» Natural Abilities:

Simply Average: Izumi is physically adept. She doesn’t excel in anything particular and tries to train each of her physical attributes equally. The only thing she lacks in is her swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat. She hasn’t found the right trainer, or anyone she really trusts to help her advance her abilities in that sense.


» Racial Abilities:

Hohō Practitioner: Izumi’s work toward hohō focuses mostly on the mastery of shunpo. She utilizes shunpo most of all in combat and has gotten good. It’s also the only technique she knows. She needs a teacher for advanced techniques.


» Zanpakutō Name: Kasumi no Hana (Haze of the Flower)

» Zanpakutō Spirit:

Kasumi no Hana used to be a sweet and curious person. She had a love for anything beautiful or cute. Now, she is calm and cold, and chooses not to speak. She’s not a mute because Izumi has heard her voice a couple of times in the past, but for some reason their conversations now consist of one-sided arguments, scoffs, and chuckles. Kasumi often ignores Izumi, leaving the woman to fend for herself. However, she has never taken her power away. Even though their bond feels fragile, Kasumi does care for Izumi and will protect her. She doesn’t like the methods Izumi uses and is trying to get her to see her current ways are wrong.

» Inner World:
Izumi’s inner world consists of an endless field of lush green grass and millions of small flowers. The flowers change color depending on her mental state. The grass can also live or die depending on her mental state, but it never grows above a couple of inches. There is a single massive cherry blossom tree off in the distance, growing on top of the only hill for what seems like miles. Kasumi no Hana can make it there, but it never gets closer for Izumi, no matter how long she runs.

» Shikai Abilities:
Upon release, the blade transforms and small white flowers grow along it. Each time the blade strikes something solid, the pollen from these flowers is shaken free and bursts out in a 20ft radius. The pollen is extremely difficult to see, but easier to smell as the scent of flowers is spread. However, once it’s inhaled, the pollen starts to take effect. The pollen causes Izumi’s opponent to see multiple images of her, up to 2 x Zanjutsu level (currently 4). The images all act of their “own will,” according to the expectations of the opponent. If they expect an attack from behind, they’ll see an image come from behind. The more confused or anxious they get, the more chaotic the images will behave. Izumi will be among the images and can be sensed through her energy. However, the pollen’s second effect lessens the effectiveness energy sensing by 25% because it is spread over the battlefield and is made of her spiritual energy. The illusion effect lasts for 2 posts every time it’s inhaled. The pollen lasts for two rounds before dissipating and can be affected by wind.
