Crikey! [Open]
Tue Nov 01, 2022 7:40 pm
A hot day for November.
- The Izu peninsula churned in the midday muck, air lilting against the buzz and hum of wildlife. A secluded road bordered on either side by ancient stone, laid neatly, unblemished. The roar of an engine slowly overtook from the distance, a SUV barreling down in a blur. Music blaring from open windows, a brazen punk half hanging from the passenger side.
"Darling darling!" the man sang unabashedly, the tear in the sky unnoticed.
The eye that stared through filled with rage.
The vehicle continued roaring through the countryside, catching the ire of some natives. Annoyed gazes caught from the edge of window frames, an older man silently judging from the roadside as he walked his dog. Idyllic life sent sprawling for the sake of a joyride, social contempt viral. A bird, aimless and unwitting, threw it all away as it flew into the open window, tires screeching to a halt as the driver and passenger squabbled in panic.
The crunch of collapsing metal, snapping bones. Pebbles of glass flew skywards, the crushed vehicle pooling blood underneath as the Hollow stomped onto it repeatedly. The kumon hung slightly ajar in the sky, meters above. Steam roared from flaring nostrils as the steel was embedded into dirt. A faint gurgling cry silenced as an arm went flying from the wreckage, hanging amongst the limbs of a nearby tree. Flame sparked on the creature's tail as she turned, watching.
Hunting.

The smell of blood filled the air. The smell of MEAT.
- The hollow's nose twitched, steam rising from the nostrils as spiritual pressure began to build. Another soul fading away in the distance causing her ears to pull back, head swiveling backwards as she sniffed towards the air.
A small dog's yipping disturbed the kangaroo as she moved towards the smell, standing with hind quarters raised. Dismissed with a flick of her tail, the animal was left a scorched statue. Turning back, Canguro leapt, crashing down atop a stone wall with her full weight.
As the dust settled amongst rubble, the spark of flame swirled from within. Hate radiated from yellow eyes, paying no heed to the sword in the woman's hand.
Her tail flicked backwards, a headlong rush in a single step. The first sun roaring, Canguro would slam forward with her head at Mizu's chest. The trickling flame from her ear leaping forth as she did, a step forward to force the shinigami to react or be crushed underneath the hollow's weight.

Smoke clouded the rage. Obscured the wrath.
- Flame flickering as Canguro slammed into the kido, the earth beneath crunching as she spun. The swivel of her head as anger swelled, spiked with confusion. The fire sparking in a language all its own -
A bleating yell in response to the second chant, unintelligent mangling of what once had been words. Belligerent, rage filled mimicry, taunting. Heat poured off the hollow, swelling beats in its presence. The woman would know as the beast closed the gap, an aura of stinging rage palpable.
Yet moving towards the spell, legs propelled the creature skyward into Mizu's attempt to dodge away. An increase in speed and power as sparks flew, a tail swipe was aimed with a midair spiral. Pivoted towards the woman's extended arm as vision cleared, looking to slam the aim of the kido out the way and, if successful, burn the shinigami with Canguro's flame. The creature had no particular way to react further into the air - a risk unknown or cared for. All the hollow cared for was to maximize it's speed, it's power, to maim; to scar.
To ruin.

A yellow light, tearing through space.
- Flame flickered as the hollow recoiled from the impact, a clean hole nearly tearing her right arm off. A flat flailing as it landed onto the earth beneath with a heavy crash, cratering underfoot. Yet Canguro righted quickly, a flume of heat pouring from flared nostrils.
The flesh bubbled as it started to stitch back together, slowly, but surely.
This would not stop the creature's rage.
A paw readied underneath as the hollow's tail raised upwards behind it, something comparable to a running stance as her head lowered. Heat exploding around her as the kangaroo launched forward, the shimmering heat binding against the spiritual pressure - the aura of a skull vaguely floating amidst the air.
How dare the shinigami? How obstinate and foolish!!! The hollow did not have the mind present to express these thoughts, hate curdling behind the gleam of its eyes. It yearned not to learn to speak them, nor shout them.
Only that they mark a gravestone.
A wild tackle made its way towards the Morikawa, nearby greenery beginning to char amongst its edges on the approach. Taking the brunt of it was ill advised, burns and cracked bones to be expected. Canguro had no concern for the glowing stick either, the twitch of her tail evident of the plan to swipe if it came close. But the Shinigami needed to act quick, or act strong -
There would be no time for her to catch up.

The third sun eclipsed the second, a new day burning across the horizon.
- A roar of heat as the flames of the kangaroo pitched higher. Sparks began to rain as a storm in her heedless charge, musculature exploding underneath the increase of spiritual pressure.
Grass and plant-life nearby starting to catch as Canguro moved, the increase of speed launching her past the rising net by a hairs breadth. A swiping tail would attempt to come meet the Morikawa's zanpakuto, only for the hollow to be flung sideways with the recoil of exploding kido.
A bleating roar responded, more guttural than the last. Stitching flesh now mounted the melting of her arm, joining back together in a scarred mess as renewed vengeance filled the dim of her eyes.
Still close to the shinigami, the creature spun with a fierce whip, attempting to slam the full weight of her tail and flames into Mizu's midsection. Successful or otherwise, the speed and heat of Canguro's movement started to scorch the earth underneath, becoming uncomfortably warm.
