Liberation and Joy (Helle/Inanna)

Helle had not expected a response from Inanna. She was simply making a statement about her surroundings. However, it did prove humorous to see Inanna somewhat prideful about her mother's home. Helle is not entirely sure if the little one is aware of the small details of home design. That is fine. Helle has no idea either.

"Ah. Thank you, Inanni."

Cookies are probably not the exact snack Helle would have expected from visiting Ninsianna, but what should one expect from a child? Though, Helle can see the benefits of pleasing one's sweet tooth. Besides, that, it did help her picture the interaction between mother and daughter, the everyday pleasantries of mundane tasks. And, speaking of mundane, Helle couldn't help but ponder on whatever is in Inanna's hand. It's a book, of course, but the girl seemed intent on remaining on the same few pages. Why?

"Is that one of your mother's books, Inanna?"

"Huh?"

Inanna was a little startled by the question like she had given the cookies and thought that was all that Helle would want from her. After all, why would the blonde care about her? She was here for her mum, wasn't she? Probably work related or something though it seemed weird to imagine someone coming to her mum's house for that.Guess she did sound pretty happy when she spoke about Helle though, maybe they were best friends but the thought just made her pout a little bit.

"Oh.. No it's my diary."

She said and closed it protectively. It was definitely a treasure to safeguard from people's nosiness, crud she hadn't expected Helle to ask about it or for her to answer earnestly. She didn't even tell her mum about the existence of her diary or the contents of it. Keeping a diary though seemed childish in her head and Helle's newfound knowledge of her made her blush, she probably thought she was some immature kid now didn't she?

"Oh? A diary? I have one too. They are rather handy, aren't they?"

Ah, but how long has it been since she's written in that dingy little book. She's had it since she was a little girl. The last thing she wrote in it was about... him... The invasive thoughts that blotted her mind caused her pause. However, this is not the time nor place for an episode of seclusion and pettiness. Though, it did bring her a sense of yearning. Maybe she should create a new diary, one that contains happier details about her life. Ignoring anything that could sour the mood, she returned her attention to Inanna, returning a small smile to her face.

"Heh. Mines become rather unkempt. I should purchase a new one as a I head home. Your mother would probably agree with jotting down the details of your days, don't you think?"

"Yeah."

It took her a moment to agree out of self-consciousness about admitting to having one but it was kind of relieving to hear Helle kept one as well. Still, she kind of hated having one when she felt like she was reading it more than writing in it nowadays. Back to a time when she would jot something down almost everyday and now she was lucky to get something written in it every week.

"She probably would. Mum really likes paperwork and writing so it makes sense."

It wasn't exactly fear or shyness but Inanna was certainly apprehensive about the new force in what had become an otherwise monotonous routine to her day-to-day life. One of her mother's friends being here in the flesh made her think about everything she said and act a little more reserved. Did she want to make a good first impression or act all mature for Helle? Maybe she was just wary of how much she said going back to her mum's ears.

"Ninsianna has a knack for being wary of such. She's helped me out a bunch. She even reprimands me whenever I get a bit lazy with work."

Jitters? No? Hmm... Inanna's reserved nature could be a direct consequence of being Ninsianna's child, but Helle didn't find that an entirely true claim. It is somewhat clear that the girl has more to her than this polite exterior. Helle can imagine the thoughts going through the child's head. She has suffered the pressure of adults before. Her youth was nothing but expectations and keeping up face. Knowing Ninsianna, Inanna may simply wish to make a good first impression. However, Helle could think of wanting nothing more than to know Inanna, simply because. How to break the ice, one wonders.

That was a weird thought, her mum reprimanding Helle. Did that mean that Helle was one of her subordinates or something? Ah but maybe it was like how she got angry at Alex sometimes over what were silly things in hindsight. They were clearly friends she already knew.

"Really? What do you do for work anyway?"

Of course she knew that her mum had said that Helle worked with her but Inanna never really took the time to ask about her work, she was not interested in whatever her mum did for work and she didn't tell her either so that was that. Sounded like her mum was still just a secretary or something though so it probably wasn't that impressive.

"My work? Oh. Well, I'm the Director of the Sternritter," Helle responded, pondering if Inanna knew what that even meant. Might as well explain it a bit.

"As Director of the Sternritter, I am probably one of the most important people around. I've worked with Ninsianna when she was just a secretary, but she's become a Director too, so I guess we're just as important as the other now."

Would that be enough to help Inanna understand? Did Ninsianna share anything with her daughter? Well, the fact Inanna knew nothing about Helle's position in the Vandenreich is probably enough of a hint. It made her pause again like earlier and question what the two Danava discussed with one another. It would not be impossible to imagine a bit of strain between the two because of Ninsianna's work and professionalism.

"Mmm... Oh. The cookies. Did you and Ninsianna bake them together?"

Maybe that will lighten the mood a bit. Inanna may glow up a bit more if she's allowed to express something enjoyable with her mother.

"Oh, uh.. That's cool."

Inanna's voice was in a grey area. It was neither jubilant enough to really be excited about Helle and her mother being really important but it wasn't uncertain enough that she came off as put off by the description. It was just a plain 'that's cool'. Honestly she still didn't really know what was going on here.

"Mhm. Mum does stuff with me when she gets off work. So I kinda just..."

Damn. It was a good thing that she was already laying down so that she didn't feel inclined to flop onto the couch. What did she even do lately? Sleep until midday, read books, try to write letters or diary entries that made her frustrated when she felt like there was nothing worth putting in them to tell Alex about. It made her a little deflated when she thought about how she'd always be doing something with Alex or she'd be able to help Nel while she worked or get Alex's Dad (aka. Alex btw) to talk to her.

"pass the time, you know?"

Well, now the situation has worsened. That look in Inanna's eyes, her tone, her expression. Helle could recognize boredom, maybe even the isolationism Inanna is currently experiencing. No doubt Ninsianna is doing the best she can to ensure she has time for Inanna, but the girl clearly seems to have some form of distaste for all of this. Almost like looking through a time machine, Helle saw herself in a room, all alone, left with her studies until the Elders came for her. Her lips tightened; her eyes knitted somewhat.

"Mmm... I know. This environment is getting rather stuffed, don't you agree, Inanna? Let's go out. We can stop by Ninsianna's office and check up on her, maybe even stop by a few places for refreshments."

Already, Helle's mind is brimming with ideas of ways to help Inanna feel a little less bored.

"Huh?"

Inanna looked over to Helle for a moment like she was a bit skeptical but the way that her ears perked up at the idea did show her subtle excitement at the idea of seeing her mother. Maybe going outside with Helle would also be fun since she had become disinclined to go out by herself after finding that she just was bored out there as well without anyone.

"Okay but I need to get dressed first and can we get something to eat too?"

She said with a bit more of a lively tone to her voice now at the prospect of being able to do something different for a change.
