You Can't Go Back Again [Reida, Arcadia]

"Happy, huh?"

Now that was a cutting question. Frankly, it wasn't one Reida actually thought about too often. She thought about individual events, circumstances, the people around her. Things like that. She was happy with all of those, sure, but was she just...happy?

"That's a mighty good question. I'd be lyin' if I said I really knew the answer. After ya spend a while not carin' about anything other than gettin' revenge, you don't really think much about bein' happy."

Emptying her coffee cup, Reida simply watched the ocean as she continued trying to put together her thoughts. The sense that she wanted a proper drink was sure going off in her head, but she wanted to avoid that.

"There's a lot I think is keepin' me from bein' happy just yet. But I think bein' here has at least had me closer to bein' happy than anywhere else I could be."

Arcadia's mouth curled up a little bit at her answer, she was a little glad to hear that Reida was happy even if she had just met her and didn't have any reason to care for Reida. She cared about Cyrus, she knew Cyrus and so in a way she did care about Reida by proxy.

"That's good."

She said simply, not going on any further to avoid lecturing her or linger on making her happiness the topic of the discussion. It would probably not do well to spend too much time on it unless she did so she joined in looking back out at the ocean for a little.

Reida watched the sea for a short while, knowing this whole conversation was just about over. Had she accomplished her aims? Well, if she thought about the dossier she'd wanted to fill out, no, not at all. But she definitely felt like she had a better understanding of Arcadia. If nothing else, she didn't just think of her as some mystery gal wandering around the city.

"Oughta do this again some time. If ya got the free time, anyway. Maybe find somewhere else next time, know this was pretty short notice."

Plus, honestly, this wasn't really somewhere Reida wanted to just bring people casually. She did use it for when she wanted to get work done without too many people coming to bother her. Making it a regular hangout for chats would defeat the whole point.

"Of course, feel free to seek me out at any time."

She considered adding that perhaps she could gather Reida, Cyrus and herself but opted not to. The danava could not immediately discern if it was due to not wanting to create an uncomfortable situation for the two of them or something selfish about being able to have Reida all to herself. The first real person beyond Cyrus she had allowed the chance to bond with in any meaningful capacity.

"Farewell Reida. Until next time."

Standing up and raising a hand as a goodbye, Arcadia turned and departed with the golden veil blowing a little in the wind until she disappeared into the crowd.
