A Man Shut Out [Kyo, Igendai]

Great minds think alike, right?
As it so happened, someone else had ALSO had the notion to pass the time with a good ol barhop.

"How's it goin Daisuke-san? I'll have some Umeshu!" The energy with which Igandai entered the bar drew quite a bit of attention. Ever the sociable person, he made his way straight to the bar and promptly greeted them by name. He had a rapport with the bartender, having taken an immediate liking to the man, often striking up conversations when things weren't too busy. As he waited for his drink to be made, Igen took a brief scan of the bar before he noticed Kyo, promptly offering a wave to the fellow shinigami and promptly making his way over.

"Haven't seen you in a while now, how've you been? You're looking more refined than usual today." He pointed out, glancing at the drink that Kyo had ordered for himself.

Igen smirked slightly at that and gave Kyo a mischievous smile. "Always great. What've you been up to? Not working too hard have you?" He ventured, certainly a bit potentially envious. Igen's OWN division had a lot more paperwork these days. A lot of changing hats, records to be adjusted, and of course just a lot of prepwork what with the new Captain Commander. After all, it was pretty clear that the changes yet seen wouldn't be the last, so some of the upper officers in the division had to make sure that "Hey, if the Commander wants X to happen, make sure that it can happen in an orderly manner' kind of deal.

"Psh, not as much training as I'd normally like. A lot of administrative stuff as of late. Haven't had quite as much time as I'd like." He pointed out, before giving Kyo a sly smirk. "Then again maybe this time you'll have a chance at winning. " He taunted with that sudden competetive flare. That little glow in his eyes that Igen always got when he was challenged.

Igen SNORTED a little and chuckled at Kyo's answer. "Yea I BET. Especially with those pretty superiors of yours." He noted with a sly smirk. He didn't know a ton about the division, but he DID know there were quite a few female officers that were easy on the eyes. Watching Kyo slam down that alcohol made Igen pause. He WAS gonna take things nice and slow, but that competetive nature kicked in like a charm, and promptly he downed his own drink as well. PWAH..... alrighty!

"Oh yea? That's sure an interesting idea you got there." He noted slyly. He was friends with Kyo, but it also wasn't ...THAT close. At least not enough that Kyo would probably not know just how much he was riling Igen up. Igendai had taken plenty of losses. Plenty of fights that wound up with him face down in the dirt. But those were the losses that made him the shinigami he was today. Though well, this was hardly the first time Kyo had gotten his blood boiling like this, so maybe he had caught on.

"Alright Sawachika, pick your poison. What's the challenge gonna be today?" He asked daringly. Of course Igen was hardly a man to let things go stale. They'd had these little contests before. A Drink off. Arm wrestling. A straight up spar. Igen was always asking for more ideas for ways to pit themselves against one another. His love was for competition, not just fighting, after all.

Igen raised BOTH brows at that. Whistling appreciatively. "A FIFTH seat, huh? Well well, my boy's gotten ambitious. That would be ..... Fifth Seat Furukawa right?" He ventured. He dealt with a LOT of paperwork, but well. With Fifth division, he always wondered if they gave fake names or something like that. If it WAS fake, would Kyo be allowed to tell him? Fun times.

Of course, the challenge of choice had Igen grinning just a little. "You're right. It's been a good while. Nice and quick works fine for me, big guy." His voice smoothed for just a fraction of a second, and he winked at Kyo before planting his elbow on the bar counter. THANKFULLY neither of them was strong enough to obliterate the counter itself. At times Igen actually wondered if they reinforced the damn thing, but that was a thought for later.

"Alright bucko. Get that arm up. On three?" He chimed, relaxing his body as he waited for Kyo to post up.

Igen snorted, grinning from ear to ear as Kyo's elbow slammed onto the counter. And promptly Igen squared up to lock his fingers with his buddy's. Both of them were, frankly, a pretty even match in most of these kinds of things, so there WAS actually a bit of tinged excitement in the air as this HAD gone both ways in the past.

With their palms FIRMLY clasped, Igen adjusted his standing just a little, grinning right up at Kyo, which ...frankly he wasn't used to as much these days since he was a bit taller than a good number of folks. All the same, he let out a slow, steady breath, relaxing the arm. "One....." He gently grasped Kyo's hand just a bit more, lightly shifting his fingers to get better purchase. "Two..." He narrowed his eyes, his grin only growing wider as he prepared himself. "THREE!" He barked out before promptly putting his whole arm into trying to get Kyo's knuckles into the counter!

He wasn't a tryhard bitch who sneakily tried to put his whole body into it, or try to put some force the instant he yelled to get some fractional edge. He kept up resistance so that he wouldn't suddenly just lose, but he DID stop from just going full force for a full half second. Straight up handicapping himself for just a moment before putting his all into it!
