Rio expected a dodge or rather the way Nanashi moved made it seem as though that was going to be her next move as she gazed at the woman zipping backwards only to shift forward, soaring in underneath her fists. With an exuberant "BOO!", Nanashi slammed her head against Rio's sternum. It wasn't as diversified as her first attack but Rio inwardly praised her for the effort all the same. An opponent of lesser constitution might have had the wind taken out of them in that moment but there was a reason why Rio was referred to as an "Unfaltering Shield". Defending and countering were the names of her game and her body was a prime example of that.

To take her down would require a true display of strength, one that Rio was confindent Nanashi would reach with her work ethic and give it all attitude. As a result of Nanashi's energy, she was actually excited and rather than let her push her back too much and finish executing this interesting technique, Rio's hands would grab the energetic woman by her shoulders as she pulled at her body, falling backwards, attempting to pull Nanashi forward and take her momentum away from her; no sooner than that, her leading leg would be brought upward towards the woman's waist, aiming to not only rob her of the ability to immediately set up another attack but also send her flying a few meters ahead.

This technique was not something inherently tied to Hakuda. Rooted in Judo, it was a counter attack one used to throw their enemy off balance and use the momentum against them. Like her strikes before, it wasn't meant to injure or even disorient her. It was simply a means to see what she'd do next. If it connected, good. If not, she'd prepare herself for the next attack Nanashi launched.

Surprise crackled across Nanashi's features when she felt the woman suddenly grabbing onto her. UH OH! PSYCHE!
With a grin she looked up at Rio, her smile cracking wide open as suddenly, she winked up at the woman. Before a FLASH of pink and black reiatsu coursed across her face, suddenly her Mask forming over her features as her sclera Blackened. "Gotcha again!" She grinned, a lour VREEEEEE sounding as she charged a weak cero! However, before she could fire it, that leg SWEPT up into her body, catapaulting her across the room and making her skid as that cero simply shattered over her mouth! She bately managed to slide and roll onto her hands and knees. a GACK escaping her as she tensed up.

"WHEW! That was fast. I should have expected something like that. " she chuckled, her voice still a bit distorted as she ran her knuckles across her nose, peering just a little as she got right back into her stance, narrowing as she focused on her teacher. "Alright. So I gotta go all out!" She grinned nice and wide! Raising her hand and pointing two fingers at the woman. A bright electric crackle sounding as a Byakurai formed on the first finger, and then the high KEEEEN of a Cero being charged in the other! One ....MIGHT have expected to see the two techniques combining together! ....

Except Nanashi didn't actually know how to do that! And so she simply fired them through eachother. THANKFULLY she had the awareness to dial them down , enough that they would barely scuff the walls if they whiffed.
"Thunder Zero!" Yep, she even named it, and with that the room LIT UP! Before the attacks just vanished! NOT indoors! Almost instantly Nanashi blinked..... AND THEN VANISHED! Blitzing toward Rio and aiming a sudden STRIKE to the woman's shoulder, followed by a swift axe kick to the other shoulder! "Another distraction!" She lied. Trying to save face infront of her teacher, definitely not willing to admit that her hollow had stopped her from maybe singeing the walls a little.

Rising from the ground quickly after performing her throw, Rio would settle into a hakuda-based stance as she gazed at Nanashi regaining her composure. Even after being flung across the room - albeit softly and without any ill-intent whatsoever - Nanashi was still all the more sprightful. There was not an ounce of discouragement nor hesitation in her demeanor. In a word, she was unpredictable, yet with the right guidance that could be a formidable tool for her on the battlefield.

Nanashi wouldn't give her time to think of the ways she could help her improve as she placed her two fingers forward. One finger was cracking with electrical energy - Byakurai? Another Hadō spell, eh? The other finger seemed to be a cero. Rio could develop an idea of what she was about to do next and quickly shifted her body a few steps forward. A fusion of two? It genuinely seemed like that as she called out a name she entirely invented on the spot. Thunder Zero?

She knows of a person who'd probably name their own techniques in such a flashy way and that made her chuckle for a moment as she readied herself, in preparation for an attack... that did not come. The room lit up and the Hadō and cero that was meant to be launched in a dual assault was no longer there. Nanashi wouldn't give her any time to ponder on why she chose to stop, however.

Vanishing and blitzing towards her, Nanashi would strike towards Rio's shoulder, following up with a swift axe kick towards the other! Rio supposed it was another feint as she did a similar action earlier. Rio would raise her hands up to attempt grabbing her by the fist and her leg, aiming to throw her into another direction again, except this time, if she was successfully thrown, Rio would use her shunpo to vanish and appear before her.

She was curious to see how the bright vizard could handle a little pressure. A series of measured strikes would be launched towards her, though none of them were executed with a force that would debilitate her. Maybe a little wind would be taken out of her but certainly not enough to end their spar. For some reason, this energizer bunny known as Nanashi seemed as though she would be the type to keep going and going if one requested of her. A pleasant student, indeed.

"I will say one thing so far, you are one of the more resilient students I've met so far. Some tend to get easily discouraged if they can't land a hit or find that I don't damage easily but you just seem to get all the more excited. I respect that!"

Nanashi's mask vanished just as she felt her combo being blocked! Her brows raising as she focused on the sudden throw! This time she was prepared, skidding along the ground and perking up as she ...OH! Suddenly Rio was directly in her face, and Nanashi was face to face with her teacher's torso before those strikes promptly hissed in and snaked at her body! But she was....SURPRPSINGLY sturdy! The girl blinking as she felt those solid strikes THUNK against her body! They were much faster than before, especially with her mask off, but she still grinned.

"Fufufufu. Sorry Teach But this is nothing. When I was still in my first semester I would accidentally shunpo myself through a wall at LEAST once a day!" She crowed, raising her arms to guard the flurry before she promptly STOMPED! It wasn't aimed to break the floor, but it was instead aiming to propel herself upward! The woman's form twisting in the air. Her entire body focused. Getting ready to Super-man punch the woman before promptly, she BLURRED! Only this time, she didn't aim to shunpo TO the woman. she aimed to Shunpo INTO her teacher! Slamming into the woman's body at FULL shunpo speed! Even for a normal shinigami, Nanashis'.....bizarre training had garnered her one thing: a tough body! And she planned on testing that durability on her teacher's!

Impressive. Rio was quite amused to find that Nanashi handled each punch aimed at her body quite well, even if there was no intent to harm the girl. They were still enough to try and stagger her a little. She defended against each strike relatively well. This, too, impressed the Shihoin as she admired any warrior willing to use their body as a means of defense - through the right methods of course. And then, the energetic Shinigami went on the offensive again.

She prepared to strike at the woman again, twisting her body in the air for a direct punch only to once again vanish in a blur. Rio brought her arms up to likely expect a strike from the side or above or elsewhere, yet found the woman tackling herself right into her body, Nanashi utilizing the full momentum of her shunpo to slam against her. Unexpected. Very unexpected. One would call it unorthodox even.

Even so, even if it didn't do much in the realm of damaging Rio, it managed to move her a few meters backward through sheer momentum alone. The average student would've likely found themselves crying out in pain from slamming against a body that might as well be likened to steel in Rio, yet Nanashi was striking and soaring at her with all the energy of a battering ram. Wrapping her arms around

In a normal battle, she would've likely wrapped her arms around Nanashi's body and slammed her body onto the ground with devastating force, applying pressure on the woman's body until it gave out. Perhaps if she took her under her wing, she could show her how to temper this energy and unpredictability into a weapon. For now, that's what the spar was for, right?

Ah, to be a teacher - a substitute albeit, but still! Rio would wrap her arms around Nanashi's midsection holding her in something akin to a bear hug, attempting to keep her in place after she charged body first into Rio's own frame. A highly durable one at that. It was highly likely she could vanish out of her arms and attack. This was more to pause for quick instruction and then she was free to let loose! Rio was certain she didn't need to tell someone like her, however.

"I must say, your body is surprisingly durable for a first year student. Most who rush or strike against me tend to complain about how hard it is to leave a bruise. Tackling into me like this didn't hurt at all?" Rio was genuinely amused. Could this be the second coming of another unfaltering shield or er... whatever Nanashi wanted to become? She wouldn't dare try and impose her own image on the woman. Variety was the spice of life, after all.

ERK! Nanashi was ......definitely surprised with the results! She was pretty strong and all that, but still managing to push the woman back several meters definitely made her feel good! But even more than that, it was how she seemed to react! She had expected you know...movie stuff! 'Ho ho ho, impressive, but you have much to learn'. And all that shit. But surprisingly, Rio seemed VERY pleased with the progress that had been made from the woman! What she'd managed to accomplish in the short ammount of time she'd been at the academy, and sure she may not match some others, but she felt a swelling pride in the situation.

Well, of course, she did squirm a bit. Rather than being say, thrown around, she was now grappling with her teacher and nor trapped in a bear hug! Which was equal parts AWESOME and also a little painful with that powerful grip! Well, no actually it wasn't even that uncomfortable, but she tried not to focus on how awesome it felt to be clamped onto like this. Not when there was positive reinforcement and what SHE decided to parse as awe when Rio seemed amazed that she was taking this so well.

Nanashi was instantly glowing with pride, smiling from ear to ear and raising her head and lifting her chin, even as that pressure kept her locked in. "Of course! I dunno why, but I'm very sturdy. It's pretty awesome huh? HAH! This little trap of yours feels like a pleasant hug!" She lied, even if it didn't HURT there was still a good ammount of pressure on her lungs, making her voice a bit squeaky and strained. But she would never complain! If she was lucky, she could probably get like a good chunk of Yen from the other students just to describe what it felt like to be squished up against the Shihoin's chest. Not that she would, because those guys were losers. But still!

"But ugh....you know.... I know I'm pretty sturdy. So its totes fine if you wanna.....stop squeezing as hard. Just so you don't hurt your arms." She groaned, trying to continue sounding confident and cool. Ok wow actually it was getting harder to breathe holyshit. ACK!

To say was impressed with this woman's durability would be an understatement for the ages. Anyone else would be complaining and tapping out, let alone asking for some form of mercy... yet Nanashi welcomed it as if it was the most entertaining thing in the universe. A hearty chuckle escaped the woman's lips as she removed her arms from Nanashi's midsection and tapped at her chin, as though temporarily losing herself to her thoughts. Though this meeting was unexpected, Rio was enjoying the fact that the two had crossed paths.

She never questioned the mettle of her students or their willpower but she couldn't recall a time where they soared at things with as much vigor and electricity as this one. Juggling substitute teacher duty and traveling earth would be a somewhat tricky venture but one part of her was genuinely tempted of taking this young woman under her wing, to help her temper that energy and show her the ropes. Maybe she could speak with her about that over a meal? Well, first she had to confirm whether the pink-haired Shinigami desired to end their spar or keep going, though part of her genuinely believed the woman would choose the latter more so than the former.

"I think I've gotten a good idea of your skills and capabilities.. or at least a general idea. How would you like for me to buy a meal for your efforts? We can converse and well, you can get to know more about your substitute teacher. Of course, if you still desire to fight, I can go for as long as you like. What do you say, Miss Nanashi?"

Nanashi immediately straightened herself back up once Rio had peeled away from her! Giving a big smug smile as she had endured the woman's bear hug! HahahahahaHAH! YEP! Keep the adrenaline going! However, she did perk up a little and tilt her head when she noticed that Rio was seeming to be thinking about something. Looking at her with that kinda old person look. She looked over herself, wondering if she had something on her when the woman promptly made the offer of food or continuing to fight!

She perked up and smiled. "Oh? You still are brave enough to continue fighting me?" ....Okay maybe that was a bit much even for her. "WEeeeeeeell I guess we could keep on going! I'm still fighting rGHRRRRRRRRuhhhhhhhuel." Yep. Soon as her adrenaline wore off and her core muscles started to feel pain again, she collapsed DIRECTLY onto the floor. Little did she know that she had been flexing her core muscles in order to resist the compression of Rio's bear hug! And now that she had untensed those muscles turns out, she'd definitely pulled a few of them! Sure, she had endured the squeeze, but that didn't mean she wasn't roughed up!

"A meal sounds great." She croaked out from her spot on the floor. Yep. Keep that dignified look. AbsoLUTELY just....rgggggh, yep. It will stop being painful eventually. She could FEEL both Amanta shaking her head in her soul, AND Yojūtsashi giggling. Yep. Embarassment in this bitch of a world called her soul. "I'm good. I am ....resting. This is a meditation I learned. Just.... a couple minutes. And I'll be all set! You should try it. It's very relaxing." She insisted in a smile and a strained voice. Still trying to save face.

As Rio expected, the pink-haired energizer bunny seemed as if she was rearing to go---until she wasn't, her body collapsing haplessly onto the ground, claiming that it was a meditative exercise. Rio had to stifle the urge to chuckle as the woman was more than aware that Nanashi had likely pushed herself past her limits. An energy output equivalent to hers would do that to a person. Well, at least she had her limits. That uncontainable energy could be an immense tool but Rio certainly didn't want the woman to wear herself out too much. Rio would pull the woman from the ground, setting her onto her shoulder as though she were weightless, carrying her off to a place where she could take a seat.

"No need to save face, Nanashi. You were great. Knowing one's limit is the first step to going beyond it... or something like that. Forgive me, perhaps that was my attempt at trying to play the role of a wise and storied Sensei," she'd remark with a chuckle as she placed the woman on a chair before utilizing shunpo to quickly find the closest place to order a meal while the woman waited. She would return in the next moments, setting a plate filled with seasoned portions of meat, noodles, vegetables, and a chilled drink to revitalize the woman's sore frame.

Setting a table before them in the hall, Rio would gaze at the woman with a look of curiosity in her eyes. What was her story, anyway? She wondered...

"This was the best I could do on short notice. I hope it is to your liking. Now we can converse. What would you like to know about your teacher?"

Urghhhhhh yep that hurt. She closed her eyes, taking a few moments to try and focus herself. It was VERY true, Nanashi was a TANK. But mentally she had the constitution of a wet paper bag, and once her body gave out, she had very little in the way of the mental drive to just PUSH herself toward things. She was just some girl from the Rukongai. Sure, a lot had HAPPENED, but there wasn't much in the way of mental training. And honestly, Nanashi didn't seem all that great with it.

"Ohuhhhhhhlll!" A noise of surprise escaped her as she was picked up. OW! She tensed up, VERY YEP THAT WAS MORE PAIN! What would have otherwise been quite stimulating was in fact, quite painful as she was slung over the woman's shoulder, her core muscles extended as the two halves of her body pulled on them. But thankfully, once she was sat down, she was practically collapsed, bravado out the window as she clutched at her gut. This was the worst! But thankfully, she had a beave.....ish face on. Her lips pressed into a thin line to suppress any noise.

And then Rio was gone. h right, she DID say something about getting food. And promptly Nanashi melted, slumping into a pained puddle as she let out a groan. Yep, just gonna let out all that noise she'd been holding in. And after a minute she was feeling somewhat better. Managing to lay on her side, she noticed it had been a few minutes. Her teacher would be back soon. Shit. Cmon Nanashi, grit your teeth! Sitting up, she sat back against the chair and let out a soft, slow, whewwwwww. Alrighty. Now she was good. A few deep breaths and-

"Ghhuh!" She blurted out as her teacher suddenly appeared again. Blinking for a moment as she .....stared a little at the offered meal. Oh wow, this was.........weird? It occurred to Nanashi that this was a bit strange. This woman had only just started helping her with her lessons. And now she was buying her lunch? She decided to kinda let it slide. Sitting upright and looking at the food. She smiled a bit to herself, before pausing at that question.

What? She looked up at Rio and stared for a bit, her head tilting. This woman buys her food, and is now like...talking to her like they're chums. Wasn't this like....dubiously professional? And then her face lit up a bit, remembering that rumor about the Professor that had been dating a student. Wasn't she like.... also a Noble? Was ......was the Shino academy a place where lonely Noble Cougars coasted for prey?! She tensed up a bit as her mind swam with confused suspicion.

"Uh......" Briefly, she considered bringing it up, but like...was that....appropriate to bring up? Hey teach, thanks for the food! You gay or something? No no no even NANASHI knew better than that. So she decided to just.....take a bite of the meat. Ignoring the vegetables completely. "I uh....dunno. I don't think a teacher's ever really asked me that before. Is...uh.....teaching.....fun?" She asked, clearly floundering. What kind of question do you ask about your teacher? Didn't they just go home and read books and sip tea or something? Eat apples? She didn't even know. But she just decided to try her best.
