Hey, you again!? [Alastair, Inanna]

One could easily tell this guy didn't have experience with kids - or little people - how was she supposed to fit this over the top of her but he somehow made it work, great! That's what she needed to see, some inguinity which was almost out of character from the density that he displayed when they first met but people could change and grow, right?

Shouldn't be too surprised.

"Uhm. We have to make the dough."

Inanna stared for a little bit, how'd Nel make the dough. Crud, now she was looking like the dumb one. She had to keep up the charade though and Inanna swiftly selected a couple of things from the counter and seemed ready to jump into it. It didn't look correct but did he have the nerve to tell her that?

"Ah, the dough, of course. It might be better to use a bigger bowl, that way we will have enough to go around."

Moving past Inanna, he slid a larger bowl in her direction and then reached down to fetch some butter from the fridge. That she was holding both sugar and salt did give him pause for thought but if she balanced it correctly then they might be off to a good start. Cautiously optimistic was perhaps the best descriptor for his mood as he took a hefty slab of butter and began to dice it before placing the chunks in the aforementioned bowl and waiting for her to get started. He was ready to jump in if anything particularly egregious happened but also interested to see exactly how she operated when given a little more freedom.

"Shall I start on the eggs? It is probably best that I operate the whisk and you let me know when you are ready."

On that, he was much less comfortable letting Inanna have her fun. It was a dangerous, and messy, tool and the last thing he wanted was for something to happen to her. She might object, as he did, but there was a time when you had to control the fun so that it might continue.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

Inanna didn't fight, after all she wasn't sure but as long as the illusion that it was all her was maintained then she was content. For her she just jumped right into it, while Alastair did his part she was making an absolute monstrosity with her larger bowl. What were these ratios? How much sugar and flour did she just put in there!?

"Alright, next we put the eggs in."

She said waiting for him to douse whatever mixture that she had made with the eggs and make the mess closer to its completion.

There was a certain amount of creative leniency that one could probably take when making cookies, Alastair knew that much, but watching the haphazard nature by which Inanna was distributing the few ingredients she had been provided with did not inspire confidence. Still, he had provided a generously portioned base of butter and the girl might just have been accounting for that.

"Eggs coming right up, you could make a start on breaking up the chocolate in preparation for the next stage of the baking process."

Sliding into position alongside her, he took charge of the mixing bowl and dispensed the eggs he had already prepared before reaching now for the whisk. It would take some time to work the mixture into a dough without overdoing it and ruining the whole mixture, though he was also trying to rebalance the chaos that Inanna had already created as he went.

After all of a minute, Alastair realised his mistake. Inviting the distractible little devil to dive into the sweets was likely only going to lead to one thing, the self-consumption of a great amount of the product that their budding disaster desperately needed.

"Uh huh."

Naturally she might've been opposed to giving up her power but Inanna wanted to work with the chocolate far more than she wanted to mess around over there. Ears and the benefit of the more keen sense of hearing to try and keep an bit of attention on his workings.

As he worked and she thought he wasn't looking, the chocolate was vanishing! By the time that she was done only half of the chocolate that she had bought ended up broken and ready to be incorporated while she had chocolatey hands and it over her cheeks.

"All done! Hurry up, it'll go bad if we take too long."

To call the mixture saved would have been generous, but it certainly was appearing to take on something of the consistency that was expected of it as Alastair desperately worked on it. He turned, having only spared the briefest of glances in Inanna's direction, and did have to mask a chuckle as he saw the chocolate-covered child. It was fortunate that he had overbought on the chocolate department, but it was still unwise for her to have any more. The last thing he needed was her making herself sick.

"I am ready, put the chocolate in now. You have not eaten any have you?"

His gaze hardened into a feigned moment of sincerity as he took the chocolate and poured the surviving pieces into the mixing bowl to make sure everything was ready to get baked. Placing the bowl down though, he was quick to fetch a damp flannel and prepared to set upon Inanna with it. He could hardly have her running around with hands and a face like that after all, it would quickly end up all over his apartment even without her efforts.

"Now just hold still for a minute, do not move. And then we can put the mix on the tray ready for going in the oven."
